IMIGONGO ART CENTER and Cafe Quick Food - Cafe in Rwamagana, Rwanda
Its good place
A must on the way to and from Akagera National Park!!!Some of the best Rwandan food I have had so far. And dont even get me started about the coffee! Great options, also for vegetarians and vegans. Lovely service, nice atmosphere, with the art gallery next to the restaurant.
The Rwandan genocide occurred between 7 April and 15 July 1994 during the Rwandan Civil War. During this period of around 100 days, members of the Tutsi minority ethnic group, as well as some moderate Hutu and Twa, were killed by armed Hutu militias. The most widely accepted scholarly estimates are around 500,000 to 662,000 Tutsi deaths.
Very comfortable
Very nice and unique take of art . nice coffee and all with that Rwandan DNA

Wonderful place. Great coffee!
best place to stop for rest between Nyagatare and Kigali
Great coffee, delicious sweet bread, and plenty of crafts. Clean restrooms that always have toilet paper. Just go up and order. Beware of the samosas. I asked if they were fresh and the answer was yes but it made me pretty Ill.
Its the best coffee shop in Eastern Province of Rwanda in the way of Akagera National Park from Kigali Capital of Rwanda
Great good, great art, nice atmosphere

They have Good coffee ☕and fast food, they serve with customer care
Awesome brunch with variety of cuisines. Chef Innocent and his Kichen brigade are doing incredible job. Keep it up #KigaliMarriottHotel.Brunch would rather start abit earlier like 11:30 am not 12:30 pm because the latter is already lunch time.
An excellent place for a pitstop on a road trip coming or leaving Kigali. It has everything you need, from refreshments to snack food and arts and crafts. The coffee, African tea and Dawa are all worth ordering.
Great food, beautiful setting. The menu has lots of options and the meals came quickly. Coffee, milkshakes, and smoothies are all available.
There is a very unique and artistic touch to the space and above all the food, drinks and snacks are top notch all day and everyday. Its a must stopover spot on the Kgl-Kayonza Rd.
Good food, delicious coffee, good service, helpful, friendly staff. Range of interesting art to look at and buy too. Definitely worth a stop if youre passing by.
Nice stop on the road between Kigali and Akagera. Great coffee, crafts, books, and food.
Loved this place and wish there was one closer to Kigali, you wont regret stopping. They have an extensive and delicious food menu, bakery, art gallery, and fruit and vegetables at good prices. Service was quick and very friendly.

This is a gem! Beautiful decor, professional/courteous/motivated staff, great coffee, but my favorite thing is the meat samosas 👌🏽 Well done.
Imigongo art centre is best place to visit and get more details or information about art of Rwandans and how the centre facilitate local people. Imigongo art centre provides food and drinks to travelers.
Nice place good mealsGood Chicken 🍗, 🍟
One of the place to buy imigongo paintings. I wish the gallery will have more choices. You can buy some coffee and have a quick bite.
What a nice place ☕
My stopover for, coffee, snacks, food ( lunch), organic food and shopping for some handcrafted stuff.
Although a bit pricey the food is nice, customer care good. perfect place for having a chat with friends while enjoying good food and their gallery.
Great cappucino and baked goods. Loved the artwork and the basketry. Dont like the fact that nothing has a price on it. Pricing seems to be based on country of origin.
Living in Kayonza for the next year and was so happy to find this wonderful place to chill and unwind. Gorgeous food and beautiful art work and of course delicious range of coffee.
Great cafe! Amazing art collections, high quality food, great service. highly recommed a stop to this cafe if you ever travel to Eastern province districts.
Well worth stopping off for a coffee, bite to eat or to check out the art works and handicrafts. Very good bakery there too. Coming from Kigali, it’s on the main road just before Kayonza town on the left hand side. I hadn’t been to Kayonza for several years so was happy to see this place, which is a welcome addition to the area.
Very beautiful 😍 place in Kayonza. The art center with full of made in rwanda handicrafts will get you in surprise. I am really impressed how it serves the customers with high end services, clean environment and catchy environment.I would go for this place again and reccomend everyone to taste the feel of eastern Rwanda.
Always my stopover location whenever travel to Kayonza, Rusumo. Great coffee and food! They sell nice art pieces too.
It promote a tradition tourism. Neeď to keep widening the vision at the level of the Eastern Province.Focus on the uniqueness of Kayonza District and Eastern Provoncw in general
Nice rustic and pocket friendly. Located in Eastern Rwanda an hours drive from Kigali.A great place to lay over on the way to Akagera national park. You get quality coffee and tasty snacks. A favourite destination for my Saturday morning ride. I recommend you try it.
Great outdoor seating, amazing service, and tasty food and beverages. Add on top the wonderful art and handicrafts for sale makes it a must stop to and from Akagera National Park.
A fantastic Art Center at the main Kigali-Kayonza road just before entering the Kayonza town. The center has a coffee which offers an excellent service. This center/coffee is must stop for travelers to or from the Akagera National Park.
You can buy arts and can see how they do the arts. Also you can buy arts, hand craft, Rwanda coffee and souvenirs. You can take fast meal and drinks with reasonable price.
Great stop along the way to Akagera national park. Good food and drink selection as well as a curio section with woven baskets, leather sandals, coffee beans and more. Definitely a place to stop at if youre in the area or to cut the long drive in half from kigali to the Park
Amazing and unexpected place to stop by on the road (1.5hours away from Kigali). Place is beautifully decorated, service is caring and they offer great coffee options and food. I had the chicken strogonoff and was delicious! However, it takes time (a bit over 30 mins to be ready), which gives you enough time to browse the art work and buy some souvenirs. Souvenirs are overpriced compared other places in Rwanda but the advantage for most tourists is the ability to pay by card. If you can only make a quick stop, I would recommend the banana muffins or carrot cake - they are both tasty!
Really cool-looking cafe with art and souvenirs for sale. The coffee smelt great. Straight off the plane, I fell in love with the woven bowls and paid 10,000RWF (11usdfor a small one. I figured it might be a bit more expensive than elsewhere. Little did I know its 500% more expensive 😳 these bowls are only 2000RWF in Kigali. Sorry guys, even though I like supporting local efforts, 5x the price is a rip off and its hard to support that...
This place is right on the road that takes you from Kigali to Akagera Park and back. The service is fast (which is incredibly rare in Rwandathe food and coffee are great, and the art gallery features all types of art from local artists. Its a rare gem out of the city and Id recommended it to anyone whos passing by.
If you just happen to be driving past on your way to or from Kigali and you live in Tanzania and you dont stop... you have my condolences because you just missed out on once of the finest places for a coffee that exists on this green earth... also you can even wonder around and look at art if your that kind of a fellow... would definitely recommend it to a friend...👍
Great coffee. Very friendly service. All within a really cool setting.Inspired Imigongo paintings for sale. Priced from 35,000 to 100,000.
you can enjoy good coffee and atmosphere
Finally somebody has opened a decent Coffee shop outside of Kigali. The Coffee and service here are fantastic. A fresh atmosphere. The art centre is really high quality and at very low prices. (they could almost double their prices and they would still be reasonable. We spent a while trying to decide what to buy and could have easily come away with 10 pieces of art.
Coffee bar and art centre on road to / from Akagera National Park from Kigali. Sells affirdable local Eastern Province art made of cow dung relief on wood support covered with paint. With traditional motifs like shields, drums, also geometric patterns. Good clean restrooms. Friendly staff.
