The food was delicious the service was excellent and the place itself looked very nice. All around would definitely recommend especially if you like steaks.

Worst place in town. Terrible service. Unfortunately I cant give minus five stars. Absolutely do not recommend visiting. Paphos and lack of culture of behavior among the staff. There are hundreds of places worth visiting in the city.

One of the best restaurants in Debrecen. Friendly staff, delicious Hungarian cuisine. Main dish is Hortobagyi Husos Palacsinta and the dessert is Szilvás gomboc.

I visited IKON again after 2 years and it still delivers exceptional quality. This time we ordered the 5 course tasing menu with wine pairing which I can highly recommend if you are into gourmet food. The meals all have a Hungarian twist which I really liked. The wines are all coming from different parts of Hungary and they were matching well with the meals. Overall the tasting menu well worth its price.

Ikon is located in the heart of the city, ideal for romantic dinners or business meetings. The menü is short, but promising, each plate delivering more, than what you’d guess from the description. Complex flavors and textures, with emphasis of the usage of local and seasonal ingredients, the hallmark of a great kitchen. The team is professional, in the service and in the kitchen. If you have the chance to ask the chef about the food, try it, he can and will talk about it with great enthusiasm and a very high level of professionality. Service is impeccable, the staff is able to provide details about the different courses and recommendations if you feel indecisive. They are also good with children (an extra point for having a child menü). Excellent cocktails (don’t be shy to ask for details). Pricing is moderately high, but definitely a great price/value ratio. Booking is recommended, especially for dinner and weekends. Will certainly come back!

By far, the best restaurants of Debrecen and of the region. Chef Adam Thur is young and creative! In Ikon you can find traditional dishes as well as innovative cuisine. Another important aspect is the wine list, full of good Hungarian wines and international excellences. This restaurant is definitely a must try in Debrecen for every food and wine lover!

A MUST TRYThis is my first trip for business in Debrecen. Im a french native, but I come from the US. I would say I am fairly well versed in high-end cuisine from Western Europe, parts of Asia, as well as Southern United States. I consider myself a foodie.Immediately this restaurant impresses. Very clean inside, impeccable service. You feel that your experience will be great, with local products and a great chef. A mix.of traditional and modern.Staying at a nearby hotel, i came to this restaurant twice in 2 days. First night was with a local colleague, also a foodie, who recommended it. Second time was with my Manager, she is from the Netherlands, and knows good food. You were not going to fool anyone of us.On my first dinner, i enjoyed a soup mixing the sweet and savory flavors of carrots, oranges and curry. A must try if you like to start with soup like I do. Then, i followed with a veal cheeks dish, served with a side of what I like to call "Mac and cheese", but is actually so much better than the American dish. The cheeks melt in you mouth. This is refined comfort food. Being my first night, i stopped there, well fed, but not overly stuffedThe second night, we indulged a little more. We shared a seared foie gras appetizer with a combination of apricots and apricot ice cream as well as black pudding and probably a wine reduction of some sort, served with mini brioche toasts. The mix of fatty, salty and sweet was once again a winner. Truly unique. If you are an American and only know of foie gras served States side, you dont know jack and you need to try this.My second dinner entrée was a local pork dish recommended by my Hungarian colleague the night before. Its apparently a breed of pork with fur that leads to a rich,moist meat. I confirm that it was very tasty, with excellent potato croquettes, pea puree and some other goodies.Finally the pistachio dessert was a great conclusion to my meal.A great place, must try...

Arguably the best food experience I’ve had in a long time. We choose the restaurant randomly for a quick lunch, and was blown away from every dish and dessert we tried. The rose duck was prepared to perfection, which is not easy, and we loved the different flavor combinations. Presentation and service were also excellent. Loved the place, too bad we are not living closer to Debrecen. Cheers to the chef and the staff!

Amazing Service and Delicious Goulash🤤

The food is delicious.The inside of the store is also clean and tidy.This is a restaurant I want to visit on a regular basis.

The presentation was as expected. Very high level guest service. Luxurious atmosphere. Food didnt really seem worth its price. Everything we ordered were on spot, looking good and tasty but nothing that would make us wanna return just to eat offered dishes, especially with the very high prices.

Amazing food, very informed and knowledgeable service, very good wine recommendation. Very creative dishes with ease. Reinvented traditional Hungarian dishes. Highly recommended. It would be in the Michelin guide (in case countryside Hungary would be considered).Good job 👍

We got here randomly and it was the best choise. The food very very tasty and the serving was the best! David is a very nice guys and his excellent service made our experience even better. He finished the platting in front of us pouring the souces on top of food. Something different and we appreciated it! We highly recommend!

Every time i come to this restaurant its a pleasure. The staff is very polite and the service is excellent. The food is delicious: a fine dining experience without the fine dining prices. They have really tasty and unique cocktails and a full wine list. Highly recommended!

Delicacy food with warm interior

Ive been to Ikon many times and have had a fantastic experience every time. The staff is always cheerful and provides excellent service. The food is fairly standard steakhouse dishes as well as some unique takes on classics. I look forward to visiting Ikon every time I am in Debrecen.Pictured below is the Apple dessert. Not at all what you would expect but very delicious none the less.

This is the only properly gourmet restaurant in Debrecen. It is such a different dining experience to the others, and for me, having been twice, I enjoyed myself. Its a nice place for foodies to sample something different, something new. You dont go here because youre hungry: you go because you appreciate food. Nice location and staff as well.

Food here is excellent, but service a little slow. Perhaps the restaurant was understaffed when I went but barring this, the food was very good and though expensive by local standards, for a tourist it is very very reasonable and if fact pretty cheap, including the wines.

Delicious prawns as a starter & fresh salad with grilled salmon as main course. Good service. Comfortable outdoor seating.

Traditional restaurant with comfortable pleasant atmosphere. On summer you can choose to sit outside or rather inside. The hall incide is designed with bottles of wine along the walls and is rather roomy. The dishes are not very big and food is very delicious! Polite service and attention to customers. Try Debrecen cake and wine.

The food was delicious and it was very quiet. We were served very fast and the waiter was very polite. There wasnt a lot of choice as for the desserts, but it wasnt that expensive. 8/10 would recommend.

We arrived at the airport in Debrecen and had five hours stopover. We wanted to leave the airport and googled ‘Best Hungarian Goulash in Debrecen’. IKON came up and we got a taxi with all our luggage just to have some. Even though it was past lunch time the waiters made it possible to have the Goulash and their famous sausages. It was all delicious, relaxed and a friendly environment. Yummy food and worth the travel to get here.

Where should I start? I heard about them, but the first experience is a litle bit mixed feelings..I had some troubles to find a proper table on the terrace, I must to admit that we didnt had reservation, only wanted to drink a coffee.The stuff was nice but a litle bit unsure, the coffe was extraordinary, the limonade good also, but with the dessert were some problems( makos gubalooking good, but the bread was hard/dry.BUT, they offered instead another dessert for free.Still the makos guba appeard on the bill( it shouldn t)Hopefully next time will be better, when I will taste some food, till than only 3 stars can I give U guys.. sorry...

What a disappointment. Such a neat place with fantastic service, everything about this restaurant states quality at first. The starters are exquisite, ao are the desserts, but the main courses are nothing short of embarrassing. There is a huge dissonance between the different stages of the meal, as the first dishes and the desserts are absolutely brilliant but the main dishes that we ordered were comprised of over-cooked pasta that seemed as if a child prepared it (basic tomato sauce, 4 boiled shrimps as if straight from the supermarketand a bulgur garnish that I simply cannot explain how distasteful it was - nothing about it was pleasant to ones palate.Wont come back, simply does not worth the high prices.

Wonderful experience! We stop there to eat lunch. I have read other reviews for this place and everyone had only good things to say.The atmosphere was very relaxing, the music was soothing, the staff was very welcoming and attentive.We wanted to try something new. And we had a great experience.The chef prepared an Amuse-bouche that was very extravagant, sweet and savoury, a well balanced bite.The Ikon salad had a great dressing, the caramelized carrots, golden potatoes and grilled chicken breast were very well seasoned. The greans were crunchy and extremely tasty.My partner had a rib eye steak with golden potatoes and mushrooms and Béarnaise sauce. The meat was medium rare as requested, tender and juicy and very tasty. The sauce was perfect.For dessert we had the Debrecen Cake that was really divine. The cranberry sorbet was delicate and smooth, with white chocolate mouse and crumble, with caramelized walnuts and fresh cranberries.We only drank water and cappuccino because we were travelling further that day but next time we will spent the day in Debrecen and try the local wine. They had a great selection of wine.It was a wonderful rainy afternoon.We are glad we stopped there to eat and we recomend the experience to all the travellers.Thank you for a perfect day!

This is the best restaurant that Ive visited in Debrecen.Everything is perfect here:The food, the service, the very professional (and English speakingwaiters, which are dressed respectfully.The decoration, the atmosphere, and the very clean toilets.Rarely me and my wife feel so satisfied after a dinner in a restaurant.We tried the goulash soup, Foie gras, Risotto, Mulard breast, two cocktails, Debrecen cake and the divine creme brulee.Highly recommended !!!

Great looks. Great service. Great atmosphere. Great Goulash soup. We didnt like the risotto we got for main dish but the paprikash chicken wad good. The desert wad very good. We recomand to come at night.

One of the best restaurants in the region. It feels like they are trying really hard to get 1 michelin star. The food is amazing and service is great.

The "summer menu" is disappointing. The local grilled cheese appetizer was great all the rest is just ok. Please bring back the perfect pea soup that was at the winter.
