IHOP in Helena

The food is good but every time I go there its usually a 25 minutes wait at my table to get any service once youre seated and thats not even when theyre busy. Very frustrating!

Ive been here about a half dozen times and had a good experience each visit. Most recently came with a group of 5 on a very busy Sunday morning. IHOP looked well staffed and everything was moving along even though the line went all the way to the door and more customers were arriving. Even when there are a bunch of large parties the employees seem to keep up okay. I ordered an omelette like I usually do and it was good. The coffee could be better but I always order one anyway.

Even though the restaurant was very busy, we were seated within 10 minutes. The kitchen & our server were on it so we didnt have to wait unusually long for our food. The tables, seats, cutlery & dishes were all clean. The music selection was wonderful.

My mother and I drove all the way from Great Falls and decided we wanted to stop and have breakfast here. We do not have an iHop in Great Falls and we were very excited to eat here. We stood waiting to be seated for 15 minutes before I had enough of every server or iHop employee walking right past us, making eye contact and ignoring us. We went to Perkins instead we were immediately seated. I can assure you I will never go out of my way to eat here ever again.

Had the cupcake pancakes and replaced the icing with whipped cream

We had a business breakfast meeting at I-HOP recently. Our Waitress was the BEST. I-HOP was understaffed, which the waitress informed us that she was going to do the best she could and for us to be patient. She was timely, attentive, and efficient. I was impressed with how well she did. Our breakfast arrived quickly, especially since it was a large group and the food was good.

Server was amazing, I believe her name was Amanda, she discounted our total for us as we were upset by a few things, the lady who seated us was rude to others during the time we were there, and had no tables cleared in her section, was rushing customers to pay so they "did not have to wait" although it not being busy at that point. Food was good tasting, just unfortunately cold.

We waited to be seated at the desk For 10-15 minutes no acknowledgement what so ever by the waitresses We got tired of being ignored so we left , as well as the people behind us also .I work in customer service, you should teach your staff how to greet your guests so they feel welcome you wouldn’t be losing business

My wife and I waited over 10 minutes at the front desk waiting to be seated. We had 3 servers look at us and never acknowledged us. One s3rver even came up to the desk, place a menu back in the pile and walked away with out even a hello. As local business owners, we will not be back nor will we recommend IHOP to any of our clients.

Waiter forgot to give me the bowl of fruit I ordered, and they didnt give us the milkshake my husband ordered because the waiter never wrote it down. We had to flag our waiter down to remind him of the fruit I had ordered (despite being 1 of only 3 tables in there, and the other 2 had already left shortly after we arrivedand when I got it, I was disappointed. I ordered the large bowl of fruit for $7 (the same price as my entire plate of eggs, sausage, bacon, french toast, and pancakes)... The bowl was the size of my hand; and I wear a size 3 ring. As a former hostess, it was kind of disheartening.

My pancakes were Luke warm and dry. Disappointing. We waited almost 20 min. before they took our order. About the same amount of time til we were served our food.

Everytime I come here I have a bad time. I swore last time I wasnt coming back but found myself there at the behest of my children this morning. Once again it was awful. We had a very long wait for drinks. The food showed up more than an hour after we ordered it. And it showed up wrong. This place screams managerial failings. The poor staff always seem to be short handed and minimally trained. They do try their best though. It is unacceptable for an establishment to only have 2 servers on a Sunday morning. The poor kid serving us told us that it was his 3rd day working and the other girl called off. Why wasnt anyone available to step up and make sure guests have a pleasant experience. I would assume they have managers capable of stepping in as business demands. Once I got the bill I hurried up and left. I will again try hard to not eat here.

The family walk in, no other customers, accept an elderly couple, already served. We asked to seat ourselves, watress says no, be right with you! Ask a second time to just seat ourselves, because its been 10 minutes, watress says no. After 20 minutes, we get seated. Took almost 45 minutes to be served. Then started getting busy, and we told waitress she fogot part of our food, she said she knew, but didnt2bring food until we finished, asking for go box! Food was good though

Your average IHOP. Nothing bad and nothing surprising. Pancakes tasted great and a little better than in other IHOPs.

Well let’s start by saying we walked in the door and it was a little busy ..but it was not crazy !! We waited for close to 5 min without being greeted. Finally we got seated and the real wait began ....sat for 13 min and about min 5 our waitress said she would be with us. Never happened but she was nice enough to take the order of the people they just sat. Get your SHT together Helena ihop. .....we walked out and we are now eating a great Breakfast at Perkins....

Terrible service!!! Waited in the lobby for 15 minutes, without being acknowledged by the staff. We bolted, and went to McDonalds. The service at McDonalds was superior compared to IHOP. We ate at IHOP two years ago and recieved similar service. I guess we should have learned from the first time.

We went there for Mothers day brunch, with out 5 month old baby. We sat there for 45 minutes, didnt get our drinks refilled ONCE and when our food finally came, our appetizer came out at the same time. And by then our baby was done being patient. We also didnt get any silverware and when I asked for some, I was handed just washed silverware that were still dirty!! Horrible service. It made the start of my first Mothers day awful.

My family and I always love having breakfast any time of the day at IHOP. We love there food, service and our overall experience. Only reason I am not giving 5 stars to this particular IHOP, is due to when my niece went to get out of her booth, the seat and her fell into the the box they where sitting on. Keep up on your maintenance if you want five stars from this guy.

Food was good, hot, and affordable. Service started out decent, but we soon finished off the small coffee pot that was left at our table, and was never refilled. We managed two of the small cups each, and were stuck with ice water the rest of our meal. Being a Veteran, I survive on coffee. Caffeine is what makes me tick. Running out of coffee is unacceptable. Everything else considered, it could have been much worse, so I give 4 stars instead of 3 or less. Pay close attention if youre a server, it directly affects your tip if Im your customer.

The service was good, but we were disappointed with the overall quality of the food, the pancakes are supposed to be the pride and pinnacle of IHOP but ours were flat and burnt, the country fried steak was overcooked as well. The price paid for the meal didnt match the quality one might expect.

The waitress was not to friendly and the first order the eggs were not cooked through and could of got someone very sick. So they took plate back said they cooked everything over it did not look like it what so ever. Was very poor service and cooking.

I went to ihop today for the first time in over two years, and I was thoroughly disappointed. We received our food lukewarm, and my eggs were not cooked correctly. I understand that accidents happen; However, our waitress neglected to check on us and ask how our food tasted. After 20 minutes she came to our table only to give us our check. We will not be returning to this location, as it was not worth spending money on.

This place was bad, cold pancakes, cold syrup, bacon shattered in your hand before you could get it to your mouth. There was almost no one in there, had to wait to be seated, coffee pot was tiny and never got asked if we wanted more "unlimited" cold pancakes. Sucked.

Really bad waited for like 45 mins before i got up and left waiting for a box for left overs. The lady rushed us to pay cuz she wanted to go home our food was cold and burned and dry my friend didnt even get her right order but the lady wanted paid before we even got our food so she could leave i got my ranch and there was glass chuck on it ended up cutting my finger with a glass sliver it was terrible

Decided to give them another try after our first visit a year ago where we got slow service, cold food, and 4 free entree tickets. I got to say they really did improve allot over the past year. According to Google we were there at the busiest time and we got great service and food. Definitely a good alternative to waiting for a table at Perkins.

There was only one waitress for the whole restaurant during lunch time. Waited for 10 minutes to get seated. Another 10 to get our orders in. Waited for an hour for our food that was sitting in the window for a half an hour. It took so long that we had to go somewhere else.

Service was a joke, she did not put in our drinks. Fifteen minutes later the waitress came back and asked us what we ordered. Then she didnt put in our food order and came back to make us pay for our food before we got it. She also looked and acted high.

It was very cold eating in there. The food was okay, but the waitress was amazing. Im not sure how she could work in such a miserable environment. Hopefully IHOP will be able to fix the AC/ heating system. Or, provide blankets for the patrons. Will not be returning soon.

The food is always good but they really need to staff this place better. There are tons of bad reviews on how slow they are....today was no different. Friendly staff and good food but a ridiculously long wait.

The service was really slow, despite the place being nearly empty. The waitress was really rude and interrupted my order and I had to tell her to please let me finish talking so shed understand what I wanted. My steak omlet had three pieces of steak meat. Food was descent otherwise.

Very understaffed. The employees who were here were friendly but stressed because they couldn’t get to everyone fast enough. Half of our food was also very cold when it finally did come out. It’s been about 15 years since I’ve been to an IHOP and I think it’ll be about that long before I return.

The host was very attentive and made sure things were flowing, and the food was great. However, the wait staff seemed to be absent for most of our time there....long time to get drink order, then food order, then the bill. If they tighten up their systems, they would rate much higher.

Just ate here today at Helena licaruon. Arrived at 10:30 on a Tuesday....very low crowd. Waitress very, very nice. Typical wait time on food. Food was good. The Belgian Dark Chocolate Mousse pancakes were awesome!

The only reason Im giving this restaurant two stars is because the place was clean. The kids received wrong order and the waitress was unwilling to correct it. Kids were also supposed to eat for free. We were told that since we drank water instead of pop they dont eat free. My meal was extremely salty and unfit to eat. Our waitress was unfriendly to say the least. We have never had such poor service. We will not dine here again. I can highly recommend Perkins in Helena which is only a couple of minutes up the road. First visit since they became Ihob. Nice burger selection but they tried to charge for the drink that was supposed to go with burger. Was glad to see they still have their great breakfast samplers.

Empty lobby and took a 45 minutes to get food. People were friendly. Food was over cooked. They brought out eggs like rubber. My wife and son had burgers that were greasy. The buns looked brushed with grease.

We showed up 30 min before they closed our waitress treated us awesome and the cook was great very thankful they feed us we had a very long drive and when we got to helena mt nothing was open but fast food. We were starving and wanted a good meal. Ordered 2 steak tip dinners they were excellent.

Worst EVER. First, we were sat at a dirty table. Then i ordered a glass of tea and it tasted old. I ordered 2 eggs over easy, bacon, hash browns and toast. I had to wipe my mouth after every bite of the hash browns because they were so greasy. Then my waitress said my toast would be right out. I wound up finishing my whole meal before I even got my toast to eat my eggs with. My friend ordered a Chicken and Spinach crepe but it hardly had any spinach in it. The bathrooms were spotless though... Good job, there! Ill have to drive right by next time. Sorry IHOP! Below is a pic whatever was spilled or left on the table they sat us at. We counted about 8 workers, but there were several dirty tables when we walked through and went to our dirty table.

Came in one afternoon and wanted breakfast. My server Sharon was one of the best servers that I have ever had she was quick, attentive and very professional. I have been to other places and have had less then satisfactory service but Sharon is #1 period and makes this place a place I like to frequent.

I have been here for over an hour. My eggs were under done and hashbrowns way over done. I had to wait for about 10min to get a soda. I was not pleased with the food and service. When I tried to grind the waitress she was no where to be found for about 20 min.

Great brunch! Stuffed french toast with peach topping was scrumptious. The new Tuxedo pancakes were a yummy treat. Best poached eggs Ive had in a long time. Bacon & hash browns done to perfection. Staff were attentive & friendly.

Not a real restaurant. Had to seat myself as there is literally no service. And after 15 minutes still no service, so here I am telling anyone reading to not visit this place. Its 2 in the afternoon and not busy. Get better waitresses/waiters who actually show up to work, or maybe just not even open your doors. If I cant take my grandmother to a pancake house for lunch, why would said pancake house even be open?Highly disappointed, never coming back.

Wasnt impressed. Went there on a Saturday around 1:30 and the restaurant wasnt even busy but the food took forever and the service was slow. Got our initial drinks when we sat down, didnt see the waitress again for 45 minutes until the food was brought out, by then everyone had empty cups, the hash browns were burnt and the food was cold so it had probably been done for awhile. Servings were even smaller than the menu depicted and other Ihops. I will not go to this particular Ihop again.

The service was good, but very slow. The pancakes were great as usual, but the hamburger was dry. At a time of day when there werent many customers, I think that both food and service would be better.

This IHOP is very convenient to the Helena Regional Airport. It is clean and comfortable. My omelet was very large and was very good. The coffee was hot, tasted quite good and there was plenty of it. The server was pleasant, efficient, and attentive. I asked her to bring hot sauce with my omelet and she remembered to do so.

Food was alright, besides missing stuff on the order and one dish being big and hearty, then the same dish (ham and cheese omeletbeing little and tinny. Almost like they used 3 eggs for one and the 1 egg to make the other.. wait staff was very friendly about it but I think the may want to check to make sure the cook is just not winging it..

Very poor quality. The pancakes were all different sizes but definitely small. After we told the waitress they were very small she tried to convince us they were pretty average and hesitantly asked if an additional two would help. (the other 2 were also small).Id recommend Steves Cafe over this particular IHOP. Its too much of a hit or miss.

Took over an hour an a half to get food. Food wasnt prepared well. Asked for utensils for times and it took the wires two trips to bring enough back for the whole table. The manager came out too really to us, and gave a pathetic excuse as to why everyone in the restaurant was waiting. There wasnt one thing good about the experience.

Snow was on the walk when we pulled in. Had to change 3 maple syrup bottles to get one that worked. My god that I ordered was a little to done and crispy if you know what I mean. But the pancakes were worth it. Only saw one waitress. But it seemed that she was more talkative to more regular customers. But she did do her best to keep us happy.

Service was slow. Two employees sat in a booth wrapping silverware while we waited 15 minutes for someone to take our drink order. Food was bland. Pancakes were ok. But its hard to mess up pancakes. Will never go again.
