I:BA Cafe & Restaurant - Japanese restaurant in Benares, India
I tried japanese dish there. Miso soup and miso base ramen. And both were not of my taste or i must say not of Indian taste i guess.Whole restaurant was empty. There was only one couple besides me. If you are japanese then you must try that may be it will satisfy your tongue. But if you are indian then atleast dont try miso base items
Never had better chicken steak anywhere in India than they serve! Just AMAZING 🔥 this is a must try place when in Banaras !
The food was fresh, properly prepared and a great value for the price. We highly recommend it. Many combo meals. And Sunday was equally as good.Staff were extremely friendly and delicious many foods.Well done 👍Must try when you are in varanasi
The food quality was better a couple of years back. So in comparison to that i felt that the ambience and food was a little less appealing. But in general, its a good place and offers a different taste.
The tempura was good. the chicken steak was raw which was disappointing as we went there after reading a good review. Chinese was ok.
The place hasnt changed a bit since 2008.v Food is great but very limited options.Even lesser for Veggie. Place is good for a group of max 6 members. A nice place to spend quality time, with professional and cordial staff. Located very close to Broadway. Yes,as this place is a Cafe, this place is not for families, Or family gathering.
Great ambience with cozy seatings. The menu doesnt have many options.. cold coffee was not good at all, so we cancelled that. But the pudding was delicious. Go there if you seriously want to try some Japanese food.
Best for those who want to spend some quality time, in silence and good ambience, much food options are not available, for foreigners they provide some really good stuffs according to their taste......but being banarsi you are not going to get much options
Wonderful place to eat and drink, staffs are friendly and relaxed atmosphere
A place carrying different Japanese dishes in their menu along with Indian and thai meals to suit the local palette...Went to try their Japanese stuffs...Proper description of different Japanese dishes has been done by them in their menu so as to enable the public choose easily...Tried Miso soup {one of the two basic soup of Japanese cuisine made using miso paste} ...It lacked veggies , only carrots were there , moreover flavour was not that nice and will not suit the taste bud of natives of kashi...Gyoza {Japanese dumplings} served with soy based sauce was nice in taste...Stuffings primarily consisted of boiled soyabean crumbs along with veggies....Will soon be visiting again to explore more from Japanese cuisine...
Quaint restaurant serving Japanese, continental and Indian choices. I loved the music and furniture. Serving was quick and courteous. I had the tempura udon and momos and they were delicious. My husband had the Teriyakadon: a mutton and rice dish that he enjoyed. His came wth a side of shaved radish and a bowl of miso soup. Highly recommend. Be forewarned, they only have squat toilets... though they are clean and sanitary.
The place is small but not bad. Ambience is okay for the size of the place and its usually filled with tourists. The staff doesnt seem professional but the menu is great and so is the food. The place is quite, or at least it was when i visited so thats always nice. Over all, the place okay for some quick authentic Japanese cuisine.
One of the best tasted chicken steaks of my life. I highly recommend this place atleast once in life time when in Varanasi, indiaP.S - it literally melts in your mouth.
Very comforting ambience.Best service in town.
Nice welcoming setting. Udon with soy base was tasty but basic, tempura batter could be lighter and crisper on veg. Ramen with miso base was underwhelming and too much oil added on top. Definitely Indian- Japanese and not authentic. Decent mint tea, not too sweet. Overall satisfied but at an inflated cost.
Nice place. Theres comfortable seating arrangements. Italian here tastes better than the Japanese. Service is also nice, polite waiters and they dont take much time to prepare food. But overall going here is a nice experience. Feels underrated though.
This restaurant is for ambience... if u have group of close friends.. or a date... or u just want a peaceful environment..... this the place for u... the interior r very zen style... thy do serve Japanese food but thy also offer Italian and Chinese cuisine. N.. yes its a tat bit costly... but u can pay that much just to have some good time with ur close ones.
Delicious! We went here for dinner this evening and it was lovely. The food was so tasty & well priced and the place has a very comfortable atmosphere. Definitely recommend the aloo Ghobi or the minestrone soup. Mahendra the owner/manager was very nice - he even gave us some extra rice his wife had made for free to have with our left over chapati. Well be back for sure!
Visted IIBA with friends and family twice. The food menu is limited but the dishes are made to taste. The soups are good too.
Dont know about their Japanese preparations but the chinese ones were horrible. We ordered garlic chicken and noodles, both were below average.
Do you still dont know where to find Japanese Food in Varanasi? This is the Best place serving Japanese Food in our city of Ghats,Varanasi.Food~We tried their Dimsums,Country Drink and Country Special Pizza. The Mocktail Country Drink was actually a blend of two different flavours and was really refreshing in this hot weather outside. The Pizza was perfectly cooked and its quantity was perfect too.Ambience and Service~They have a cosy and relaxing ambience. You can chill out with your buddies or can even spend some lovable time with your partner here! The Service was satisfying and the Staff were very responsive and helpful.
While discussing about my Varanasi life 13 years back, I have recollected my visit to this restaurant. I visited this restaurant thrice and still remember I had fried chicken KFC style which was very good ... Infact KFC chicken I tried later on...it was first i:ba cafe
Great place for Japanese food. A rare gem.
If you wanna japanese food in India you can eat hereProbably you are a little bit tired eating local food. then you have choices a few Japanese menus
Nice ambience. Food tastes good. Most of the items were not available because lack of staff due to holi. Tried indian cuisine, liked everything except Biryani. Do try home made icecream, you will love it.Staff was very polite. The unique thing about this restaurant is that the owner is Japani.
The Japanese food which this restaurant used to be famous for (from previous posts by othersis couple of levels lower than the one at Megu, the price is about 1.7 times of the price at Megu while quality being lower. The toilet, granted it is clean, do not have toilet paper provided as other people posted. 如果要在瓦拉纳西吃日本菜,那还是推荐Megu,这家混合风的馆子味道和服务都一般,标价不含税,megu的价格实在太多。
The honey lemon ginger tea was refreshing on cool evening. The ramen and udon dishes were tasty.
Mouth watering taste of choices at menu.Garlic chicken serves well for snacks purpose.Lemon Honey Ginger drink makes you feel overcoming sneezing cold n warming factor.
I love this place always, nice place for Japanese food, vegetarian can also survive there.
This place is one of the two best places for Japanese food in town, the other being Megu Café in Gowdolia. It is silent Café very close to the Shivala Ghat. The staff is very courteous and helps you in whichever way possible. I had been here for a number times and very time I was more than happy with the food and the service. The first time was here, I order Vegetable Tempura and Gyoza (Veg & Nonvegalong with a cheesecake. Delicious! Recently when we visited I:ba, we order the Japanese Platter which had a number of dishes including Mutton Teriyaki, Tuna with lady fingers, marinated cucumber & spinach, garlic, chicken seek kabab, mushroom and soyabean seek kabab, rice noodles with tempura, vegetable tempura, miso soup, baked Eggplant with sweet miso sauce, sticky rice with beetroot pickle, home made coconut ice cream and Hojicha. A single person cannot complete the dish, thats for sure. Everything was delicious and healthy. The burst of flavours in the mouth is worth a visit!
Awesome memories ❤️ thanks to the staffs of cafe the food was also amazing .
It is always a joy to visit iba. I tried the chicken fried rice for the first time, it was delicious.I really enjoy the peaceful ambience there. The music is perfect. Not too loud and is very smooth. A clean place to enjoy meals at.
Nice ambience. Good and affordable meal options.
Earlier this place had a unique Japanese ambience. Now it is more like any other restaurant. Still a good place to quench your appetite without much hustle-bustle
10 reasons why you should come to this place:1They accept credit card payment2Its AC and awesome environment3Staff is very nice4The toilet is clean and they have toilet paper!5Not touristy at all 🙌6Awesome strawberry and mango ice teas7Good music8Very reasonable prices9Incredible Manchurian (you can select how spicy you want)10Best homemade ice cream over best cheesecake in IndiaP.S.: Hot chocolate is a must (they know what theyre doing)
Its a good place to angoit buy food is not worth the price you will pay for it. Ambience and service is nice but they really need to work on the taste and quality of food!I had pasta which was half cooked and I loved the starter. Just go to have good time with your friends when you are not starving:P
One can never regret going here, amazing Japanese and Continental food, comfy environment.Well they add extra stars to Varanasi.Must go place
One of the best places to go for fresh and authentic indian food! and the staff is really frndly and helpful. You wont be disappointed, your stomach will be happy and your wallet wont be compltely empty......
This is a Japanese restaurant in Varanasi, and chicken teriyaki with sticky rice is famous in this restaurant, but this dish is sweet in taste, many of them dont like,,but for a change u can try,,and apart from that cheese cake, caramel pudding are also so yummy in desserts.
Pricy but clean, cozy atmosphere with not so bad Japanese food. Working wifi as well. 400 ruppee meal is surely pricy for Varanasi standard but it actually came with Miso soup, little Vegi salad and a cup of tea, so kind of acceptable. Ordered chicken teriyaki and it was dipped in the teriyaki sauce. Soso but maybe not bad for an old city in a second tier Indian city. Servers are professional and very attentive.
Today I went to iba cafe with my friend first time and ordered a japanese dish that was vegetarian dish as assured by waiter but he served us nonveg. I never had non veg ever. But today had a bad experience. I cant forget till my life time. I thought to file an FIR against iba cafe but leave this topic. Vomit 4 times. Please dont fire them but teach them lesson Mr. Owner.
Cozy place, where to enjoy Indian, Japanese and Continental food. In here you can try wide tea selection, what I highly recommend. Prices are little bit above average, but your stomach will be happy.
I wish they could open a branch in Delhi. It was one of the best restaurant I have ever been in India. I tried pan fried veg dimsum and a soup which was simply out o the world and my friend had a veg pizza which he said was delicious. The ambience is super nice and the cleanliness too. A must for a dinner in Varanasi.
Nice place to eat! The food was delicius and very helpfull staff!
Lovely food and ambience. The thai curry and teriyaki don were quite delicious. The best part was the white tea and cheesecake.
A hidden gem in Shivala . The restaurant serves great Japanese food and some good Thai curry as well. The cheese cake served here is quite good as well.
Food 4/5, tasty, European, Thai, Indian, and big selection of Japanese dishesBeverages 3/5, as good as any good place, try lassi somewhere else.Decor 3.5/5, good, clean, not overcrowded.Service 2.5/5, courteous, but inattentive, and you need to ask for water.Waiting time at the table 1/5, nearly an hour.Location 2/5, far from Assi Ghat and Dashashwamedh ghat.Worth visiting once.
Location and ambience make this place worth a visit. The menu includes foreign tastes to meet the travelers requirements. Bit on a higher side in the rates column, but worth a taste.
Enjoyed the dinner with authentic Indian food. Though the menu displayed Thai thali,Japanese items. I went for my favorite yellow daal, chicken curry, mixed vegetables and roti. Excellent quality. The manager Abhishek Singh was very cordial. The interior is tastefully decorated with cane works.
The best place to hangout. Although parking of vehicles can be an issue specially car and other heavy vehicles. Now about the food quality, its amazingly delicious food all types of varieties Indian, Continental and much more. One might miss the appetite drinks as starters rest the food quality is best I can say than any other resturant in particular that area. Well if you go for non veg, it might be disappointing to some people as u get only boneless meat. Also in indian cusine u get only chapati no option for tandoori roti or Non.At last I wud say. Its an amazing must go place whether with family or friends. Best time u can have their. Enjoy..
