Boutique hotel's sleek rooftop Italian restaurant & bar, with sweeping city views.
Wow. Came here for mine and my partners anniversary and I couldn’t have asked for a more special evening. Not only are the staff so accommodative, they went the extra mile to communicate with me to provide some special added extras to make the whole experience so much more amazing. From start to finish the staff balanced attentive service and respective privacy perfectly. The food was out of this world. You couldn’t ask for a better location in Rome, honestly one of Rome’s hidden oasis, with its cosy tucked away feel matched with the beauty of the city. This isn’t just a restaurant, it’s an experience.Must visit,Thank you so much to the team :)
We had dinner here for my father’s 60th birthday. What an experience! Absolutely everything was perfect. The food, the wine and the service. Especially the girl who served us, Roberta, was a joy to have as a server. Thank you so much!
Elegant, fancy, beautiful view of the tops of Rome.Wonderful service. Always going the extra mile for everything. Made us feel special. The amazing gourmet food was incredible, not to mention the desserts. However, because of the high class of the place, it makes feel that that I shouldn’t complain about the taste, but for example, my spinach was too bitter (compared to my husband’s spinach, which was perfectalso our pasta had too much pepper. The taste wasn’t bad, but not the best pasta in Rome for me.
Mixed feelings about this restaurant. The service is nice but slow and they make mistakes so our bread was given to another table. We were waiting for so long for our food that we had to ask them if they are bringing it. View is nice but then the food itself, when it eventually arrived after 40 minutes, was nothing really special. Not amazing not bad. So basically you just pay 100% more in prices compared to other restaurants. Get average service and average food.
My food was amazing and I had great service.
4stars for the Rome rooftop setting and 3 star for the food
Nice atmosphere and the risotto was lovely
I booked a rooftop table at Sofa more than a month in advance, and the reservation was canceled less than 24h in advance without explanation. Fortunately we found somewhere else to go at the last minute, but I would have expected at very least an apology and an offer to rebook the reservation at another time.
Beautiful view, TERRIBLE service. We came for sunset and there were plenty of tables to choose from. Sadly, it took a long time to even order because the servers just dont go to the far side of the terrace. We waited 25 mins before we could get someone to give us our check… even so, we had to go to the bar and ask 3 times.
Made a reservation about a month ago, it was cancelled with no reason about 6 hours before we were supposed to arrive.
Beautiful rooftop bar and restaurant. A little pricey, but amazing staff, and good quality.
Amazing view with an amazing service. Very friendly staff and tasteful cocktails. We enjoyed our stay and felt us warmly welcomed.
Where do I start? Having seen the reviews there were on various websites, my girlfriend and I have decided to give I Sofà a go for her birthday in Rome. Given it is is her birthday celebration, I made a note in my online reservation, gave them a call to confirm our reservation and make sure my special request is noted and also gave a verbal reminder the moment I walked into the restaurant. After three separate reminders, the restaurant still appeared to have not gotten the note and nothing was done to make our dinner slightly special, that was strike one. Then the second strike came after I found some fish scale and bones inside my sea bass tartare. While the waitress was apologetic, the manager however had the audacity to come over to ask me are you sure that it is not pistachio that is on the plate. After I showed him the evidence, he took the plate away and no action was taken to compensate or apologize. Strike three is simply the chefs love for meshing up fish. The food is good, but for a place you pay top dollar for, it is underwhelming and subpar. It may have a good view during the day, but at night you can see nothing. My recommendation? If you want to celebrate at night, take your money elsewhere as this is not a five star hotel restaurant. I have had better food and better service in a local trattoria. In a country where food quality is quite high, a restaurant really needs something special to deserve its praise, sadly I Sofà had done the opposite.
Great, great, great !!!The best foie gras We have ever had.Strong recommendation! One little thing - all the plates we got were dirty. We would visit again
What a lovely restaurant. The hospitality was first class and the food very nice. I would definitely visit again. I definitely recommend if you want to arrange a special occasion.
Lovely dinner. I had the mixed fish, it was gods food. Excellent table service.
I have been to a lot of 5 star restaurants around the globe but this one is THE BEST EVER.The Chef is so amazing and the stuff is very very nice.Prices are very reasonable.I will come back for sure. I loved it.
It was just perfect! Yes, the price may seem high, but its completely worth it! We fully enjoyed the atmosphere - nice live music, panoramic view, polite staff, delicious food. I highly recommend this place for special occasions.
I love this place. Ive been all over Italy and this is a restaurant Ill remember. And come back to. Perfect place for that special dinner with that special someone
Beautiful setting on the roof with wonderful views of the city. Service was attentive. Food was very good. We thoroughly enjoyed every plate. For the quality and level of service the prices were fair or maybe a little on the high side but nothing to make a fuss about.
Wow wow wow..if u want a great experience with hight quality food and top service pls choose I Sofa rooftop in Rome.i ant say enaugh of what a great time we had..the service was awesome the food was awesome the entertainment was awesimme..I should give them more then 5 stars.if when Im back in Rime Im back to I Sofa restaurant..dont listen to any negative reviews they r not real..
Amazing night at I Sofa roof top Terrace. From the impeccable service from the entire staff to the delicious feast- everything made it a wonderful experience. Starting with complimentary Prosecco and starting with the cured meat and cheese tray- with the most amazing goat cheese, Pecorino, Fontina, Ricotta, Brie, Salami and Prosciutto. I had the messed maniche pasta- delicious, prawns cooked perfectly and the turbot wings-fantastic flavor. Ended the night with the creme brûlée... Just perfect! A nice bottle of wine with dinner and a sweet delicious dessert wine to close. A must visit if in Rome! And I just have to mention Pasquale!!! The best service we have received in Rome by far! Knowledgeable and friendly and amazing at his job a true gem!
I cannot praise I sofa enough. The service was impeccable. Friendly staff. Wonderful servers!!!! Now, for the food!!!! I ordered a mix of different fishes and it was incredible ❤️❤️❤️. Also, I had the spaghetti with pig cheeks... It was amazing. So tasty. Great wine and the atmosphere was relaxed and romantic. Dressy atmosphere but not too crazy. ♥️❤️♥️❤️😘😘😘oh. Dont forget to ask for Pasquale! He was amazing, attentive and superb when we asked him information about wine selection. I cannot say enough about I sofa.
We enjoyed a wonderful dinner at the rooftop restaurant. The food and view were amazing, we watched not only the sunset but also were lucky enough to see full moon rise. The waiters were knowledgable and friendly. It was a really special evening for us. We couldn’t have a place at the rooftop as we booked to late. Anyway, we were sit in the garden that was very pretty and well designed. This is a matter of taste but we didn’t like the singer performing just next to us. It was very loud so we wouldn’t be able to hear each other. We asked to go inside. It was a bit cold due to climatisation. The food was actually good, well prepared. They give very generous dishes. I ate the best tiramisu ever. The staff is very very very kind and effective. We didn’t wait at all between the plate. The place is very clean and calm.
Incredibly attentive and welcoming service. Great view at the roof top. Food and drinks were premium level and matching the rather high prices. Had an incredibly good evening.
Amazing food and service. Staff and great and helpful. Would go there again whenever I come back to rome. Have vegetarian option. Truffle items are only seasonal.
A beautiful sunsey in Rome, Nice cocktails, very good music and kind personnel. It is a bit overprice, snacks are not special however the gin and tonic is quite special.
Okay, so Ill be honest, just go eat here if you have the time and money. Its delicious. The wait staff is first class and its delicious (yes I already said that but when its that good it bears repeating). The dishes are classically Roman in temperament but with a modern twist. Everything is presented to perfection. The front of the house deserves as much credit as the back of the house. The wait staff was efficient and had a wonderful humor about them. Not only did they provide excellent suggestions but always seemed to be right where you needed them. We went on a Saturday and there was live music. This was our big splurge meal while we were in Rome and it was so good we are going back on Monday for our last meal in the city. Bravissimo.
We had the experience of a lifetime. When we arrived, we were greeted by the loveliest host who immediately made us feel at home. He thoroughly explained the menu and gave us recommendations which was very helpful. We were given Prosecco and were recommended some gorgeous organic beer. The service we experienced was unparalleled to anything we have had before. The food itself was perfection, hands down one of the best meals we ever had! Once the dinner was over, the lovely host invited us to the roof terrace to enjoy the views. We are so thankful for this wonderful service and for starting our holiday in Rome in the most wonderful way!
My wife and I enjoyed an excellent meal at this restaurant. Vallerio, our server and maitred, was super attentive. The dishes we ordered were prepared with finesse in line with fine dining. We were quite pleased with our dishes: risotto with shrimp and artichoke, crispy pork belly, and artichoke and shrimp tempura. Decor is contemporary and tasteful. Overall, a very fine experience.
If i could give zero stars I would. We were seated over 30 minutes before we even got to order a bottle of wine. The food was decent at best, you could literally throw a dart at a Rome map, walk there and have a much better meal. We sat on the roof because it was 70 degree evening. ONE table complained of being cold so they brought out THREE giant heaters. Several tables complained of it being hot and they told us to deal with it. Avoid this place like the plague.
Nice restaurant in the heart of Rome. During summer time they have a terrace roof that is quite remarkable that overlooks the roofs of Rome but later in the season you can only eat inside.Food is quite remarkable and portions are rich, as well as the restaurants wine list. I certainly recommend the place for a nice Sunday lunch in Rome, its an outstanding alternative.
Very good, expensive, food. They were really great to us but that might have been because we were the only clients there that weren’t being rude to the staff. You MUST have a reservation to get in. The view is nice, though not crazy good, go for the food and upscale choices to it. Not the service or the view.
Not that much, food looks fantastic but taste not what expected, it takes a year to get your order and forget about some orders.Went for lunch at the terrace
Amazing views, great decor and a beautiful setting. I cant comment on the food but i love that my glass of prosecco was served with a small bowl of chips, nuts, and various little snacks including cheese ham and some kinda fun pastry puff! The staff was very accommodating and helpful.
The view here is lovely. We went on a day when it was pouring rain and the staff was very diligent accommodating all the tables tlso they wouldnt get wet. We enjoyed the raw seafood platter which was nice. I had a lovely pasta di cecio that was simple and perfectly cooked. My friend had the grilled seafood platter. The seabass and salmon were good, but we felt the swordfish was a little over done. Overall, it was a nice experience with great atmosphere.
We booked a table on the rooftop for my friends birthday. It was the perfect setting for a special dinner. The staff were really friendly and accommodating and the ambience was beautiful. The sun sets over the Vatican and they had a live singer which adds a lovely touch. The food wasn’t amazing, but everything else makes up for it!
Would give this 0 stars if I could. The appetizer came out with my veggie burger and by the time I was done eating, their main course of a simple pasta dish still had not arrived 15 minutes later. My partner and I sought this place out for lunch specifically on our trip from good reviews wed seen. Food was more fitting for a fast food restaurant, not well prepared and stuck out in our 7 day trip as the most disappointing memory. Beware.
In spite of asking for a lager each, a waiter will immediately open a bottle of water and pour. Then you are asked to try the local wine. 3 types of drinks? With a miniature roast beef, we had to find the miniaturised vegetables. Oh, and talk about cheesecake. The base was minus the crunch and the filling? Creme fresh? And yes five red berries a violet leaf and two black berries, I think I’ll try for a Michelin star. Reviews are showing top marks but what for? A roof top and a sunset?
The view of the eternal city is worth the price of admission. The dinner and vino was pleasant and delicious. Service was excellent as well. My wife was given a menu without prices which was a fun twist.
Worst restaurant experience in my life. After an overpriced dinner we had to wait 40 minutes for the bill, even though we asked for it multiple times from different waiters. Once the bill arrived they tried to charge us for things we hadnt ordered. When telling the staff about the terrible service they were rude and rediculed us.
I Sofa Bar is a restaurant on the roof (6th floorof the Hotel Indigo. Enter the lobby, proceed straight (slightly to the rightand use the left elevator to get to the 6th floor. The right elevator stops at the 5th floor. While a little pricey, the service is excellent and the views are wonderful. It served at the perfect end to an Italy trip. After being seated we each received a complimentary glass of Prosecco. The waiter laid our napkins in our laps. The bread came in the form of a plate of 8 rolls, 2 rolls each of 4 different types for each couple and our waiter did not flinch when we asked for olive oil.We ordered a bottle of wine, mineral water all around, followed by a first and second plate. No appetizer or desert. Our waiter brought out a small appetizer for each of us, complimentary.By the way, the ladies at our table received a menu without prices. The men received menus with prices. Not sure if this was chance or intentional. None of us had experienced that before. The price for each course is does not vary much by selection. For example, all deserts were 12 euro. The entrees vary but only by a few euros, whether you wanted the catch of the day, the filet of beef, or anything else. The view was wonderful and overall it was very pleasant end to our Italy trip. Id recommend this place for anyone looking for a special treat.
We celebrate my wifes birthday 50..what an amazing service and friendly staff. We enjoyed as the best in Rome. Thanks guys
5+! They are doing so much extra and striving for excellence. The service gets the highest mark. And it’s not just simple kindness, there’re proper standards of a good upper-middle restaurant. Aperitif is on the house, homemade buns with pistachios and tomatoes, coffee’s served in a beautiful cups with some pastries, and some other complements. Main courses are beautifully served as well. Recommended!
Great place, great service. I will back next time, sure!
The service was very friendly the food was excellent and so impressed was I that I made a further booking for 3 of us this weekend. The fish was cooked to perfection!
Great rooftop restaurant/bar! Absolutely tasty food, not overpriced and extremely attentive service. Certainly one of the best rooftop restaurants in the eternal city.As part of IHG hotel group the restaurant sticks out as a prime destination.
Beautiful roof top dining with live music in hotel indigo st.George. We were staying at the hotel as a group with small children and after a long day of exploring the city we decided to dine in the hotel at I sofa. The staff was so friendly and the food was beyond delicious and the prices were very reasonable infact much cheaper than alot of restaurants within the neighbourhood. They have some great specialities and even a perfect kids menu. I will happily dine there again. Beautiful dinner overall
Great dinner. Every dish we ordered was delicious. The staff was also overly accommodating. ...Notwithstanding the Beautiful views.
Its hard to find a good dry martini in Italy. The Gritti does a good one and also here! Best dry martini in Rome! Amazing nibbles and stunning views.
