I Fratellini - Sandwich shop in Florence, Italy
I had high expectations for this place but unfortunately both the food and service were underwhelming. This place seems to maintain its popularity merely by its legacy and the continuous praises from its many blind followers.I got no.28 as many reviewers have suggested. It’s just truffle mayonnaise (very light truffle flavourwith slices of pork you can get from any deli or supermarket. There was nothing special about the bread. Again, you can get this bread at any bakery. There was nothing special about the way these ingredients are prepared. While the staff was welcoming to many others, I can’t say I felt the same. I watched them enthusiastically engage in a very convivial chat with a lady in front of me, while they simply ignored my presence. The sandwich literally took 2 seconds to make, I paid promptly and left, but the whole chat lasted forever.I can’t recommend this place for its food or its service.
Decent price if youre desperate but the sandwich is not worth it. They use cheap prosciutto that has no marbling and no flavor besides salty. Doesnt help that the guy who runs the place is rude and assumes people need an English translation for prosciutto.I suggest you skip this place and go to I Girone De Ghiotti, the shop right across the street. The guys there are friendly and make phenomenal sandwiches. We tried both places for comparison, De Ghiotti and then I Fratellini. There was no comparison. We threw out the sandwich from here and got a second sandwich from De Ghiotti because the first one was so delicious. Absolutely no regrets.
Fantastic little sandwich shop. 4€ for a sandwich. Tried several of them and they were all delicious!
Fantastic! You never go wrong here., every sandwich is absolutely amazing. Incredibly good prices and quality over the top.Ci torno sempre molto volentieri, siete fantastici!
The panini i bought was quite good. In the end didnt like my own choice but Im sure the other options are more delicious since its a super popular local in the city center that has very very long lines at lunch time. The detail i appreciated more was the kind men behind the bar who also did some hilarious jokes that made my morning today.Grazie per la battuta su Leonardo Da Vinci 🤣🫶🏻 i wont forget you
Really good simple but yummy sandwich. I got the mortadella with truffle cream and it it the spot.
Wonderful experience - great staff, tasty food and awesome prices. I also loved the experience of eating in the lane way.
This place is over rated, hyped by the Roman guy. Long lines and good reviews but I’m not sure why. The ingredients were dry and old. Even by North American standards it was poor quality. Lots of great food to be had in Florence, just not here. Cheap and friendly though.
The food is best… So simple, yet so delicious. Armando was wonderful and so friendly. I recommend everyone to try this place if you’re passing through Florence.
Beautiful panini, quick friendly service, nice traditional place.
Was referred to stop at this shop by multiple Florence visitors - and even though the line was a bit long - the food was well worth the wait. Incredible they make that high quality of sandwiches (tried 3with limited ingredients and NO SPACE. Need to stop here if you are in Florence and looking for a good sandwich for lunch.
Great little place. Good food and good vibe. A unique experience that should be on the list for anyone who visits Florence.(Google wont let me upload my photos)
Quick simple food, easy to grab and go. Short walk from either the Uffizi or the Duomo. Would recommend
Grabbed two sandwiches before noon—super friendly service. A good selection of sandwiches that are simple, fresh, and delicious!
Classic hole-in-the-wall deli that’s Erbes a wide variety of sandwiches and drinks, all for four euros per wich! I had the porchetta which was pretty good, but a bit dry. Luckily I had a glass of 1,50 euro wine to wash it down! Line moves relatively efficiently.
Super recommended place for a cheap yet fulfilling lunch. I got number 23 and added dried tomatoes. One of the best sandwiches i ever had, surely worth its price.
The most delicious sandwich that I’ve ever had bar none. We had the number 28 with pork and truffle cheese but added rocket which I highly recommend as it makes it even tastier. It was so good we went back three times
$10 euro for two delicious warm sandwiches. This place is wonderful and a gem given how expensive food can be in Florence.
Hmm this place was a massive let down. The fillings were nice but the bread was terrible and it almost felt like eating reheated stale bread. Such a shame
Very famous pizza (Paninishop in Florence. The menu has many options (over 20 optionsof different fillings. The panini only cost €4. There is always a queue so you might have to wait. There is not table service. They put some chairs outside in the street for people to set, eat, and go.The staff working there are very lovely and the shop has a great location.Definitely recommend to stop by and try their paninis.
Best lunch in Florence. We stopped here multiple times on our trip. The tomato mozzarella and #1 (prosciutto, arugula, goat cheeseare very good. They have a great Spritz as well that you can take away.
A great place to get take away sandwiches in the heart of the city! This place may not be as popular as some others in the area, but the value is incredible as you get massive sandwiches for just 5 euros each.
I FratelliniTasty Panini side shop near Piazza Reppublicanfor quick loaded Paninis of your choice. Have a seat at one of their chairs on the alley and munch away:We liked the Acchiuge Salsa Verde loaded with AnchoviesThe Damage (no drinks): Eur 10 for two~~TRY😍:// Acchiuge Salsa Verde// Prosciutto Arrosto Crema TartufaFollow us at IG: eatsmorefun
Simple, yet fantastic. The staff was so welcoming. This is really a hole in the wall, primarily a take-away sort of place. However, there were a few outdoor tables. The staff welcomed us to sit and brought our bottle of wine (5 eurosto the table. We enjoyed three excellent paninis and the wine for 17 Euro. We will definitely be back!
Super fast sandwiches very reasonable price. Lots of choices. Really enjoyed number 9 and 30.
The absolute best place to get your cold cuts sandwiches, but on the authentic Italian way! There was a long line of people waiting to be served, but it is sooo worth it. The sandwich is filling and the meat and cheese are extremely flavorful and yum. Must visit spot in Florence. The staff are exceptionally nice and warm.
Does exactly what it says on the tin. Great value sandwich and nice cheap glass of local vino. Lots of options in the area but this was definitely the favourite. Definitely worth the 10-15 minutes to get served.
Delicious food, wonderful & impressive service, plus at a great price. Got the # 28 and was very happy, would definitely add the sun dried tomatoes to any sandwich there, adds great flavor and moisture.
Great food, friendsly staff and juat what you nwed for a mid day snack in Florence, Paired with an Aperol Spritz
Hole in the wall shop that offers a large variety of amazing panini. The people there take care in what they do and it shows. I ate there three times in three days and was always very satisfied. I recommend trying the number 28 ( the crema tartufata was soooo tastybut i dont think you can go wrong with anything. Recommended without question
Great and cheap sandwich in the heart of Florence. This is definitely in my top 3 choices for sandwiches in Florence. Not my number 1 but it’s up there. I ordered number 28 (roast pork ham with truffle cheeseand it was delicious. You can’t go wrong with this cheap and yet delicious sandwich.
Incredibly sweet people serving the most amazing sandwiches I’ve ever had. I had the #28 I believe. It was ham with truffle cream. I’m not sure I’ve ever tasted a sandwich so flavorful with such simple ingredients.
The best sandwich in Florences historic center. Stop. Nicest, fastest, most patient and joyful panini-makers. Best bread, freshest ingredients. Get one from the list or invent your own. Try the wild boar salami. Get sun-dried tomatoes. I always bring out-of-towners here because its just so good. Dont let the line scare you. It moves fast! And its so worth it!!!
When I watched Conan Obrien buy a sandwich from this place, I knew it had to be good. Was not disappointed and the chef inside was the loveliest human.
Stopped by for a quick drink while it was raining and had the warmest welcome by Armando who set us up under his awning. We had great chats, great wine and great prices. Really nice guy and would recommend anyone to stop by even just for a well priced drink if not for a chat!
Dont raise big expectations, they use small amount of meat and other products in panini. And the gentleman, who prepares the panini also receives the cash money from you with bare hands, not hygienic at all. I would not go again.
Best “schiacciata” you could ever find in Florence! Perfectly crispy from the outside, with vegetarian and vegan options available. I love this place, it’s so genuine, being managed by the same family from 1875, generation after generation, the feel and the whole experience in this place is outstanding! Strongly recommended!
I’m not into the hype - people like it because these are super cheap Italian sandwiches, but they’re mostly bread with little filling/toppings. Good amount of outdoor seating, and good service.
The place is small , no fancy, but really nice! Table at street, waiters friendly and , the best, cheap drink and food. In the middle of landscape, good place to refresh with a Spritz or take something to eat quickly
go there and meet the kindest chef on earth, don’t look at menu because his recommendations are always right and correct, ask about wine so you will get the best one - super nice place in small street for small and bigger hunger ! very nice spot - sending a lot of kisses and love !
Love this place! For €4 you can choose between a schacciata bread or bread roll (I recommend the schacciata!with loads of different combinations. The 2 guys who worked there are so friendly. They have a few tables outside so you can eat quickly.
A truly authentic panini shop! There was a line but it moves very very quickly and a lot of locals stopped on their lunch break while we were there. They have got a large selection of panini on the menu, all featuring some of the best local produce. I highly recommend a visit!!
A tiny shop hidden along the streets of Firenze offering some amazing, delicious panini with only the freshest ingredients. Must try while in Firenze!
Fantastic meal for a great price! My mom and I ordered the #1 and #4. Each were 4€ and a pretty decent size. We waited in line for maybe 15-20 min but the sandwiches didn’t disappoint. This is a good place if you want to add a fun food stop to your trip.
Very cheap sandwiches only €4. We got one of the classics with prosciutto and arugula - but it came with a smear (or schmear should I sayof cream cheese! As someone that spent years in ny, this was strange and absolutely not needed. I would prefer just a drizzle of olive oil or some pecorino cheese :(
Fantastic authentic sandwiches, minimal wait, fresh ingredients and great wine selections. I recommend this trattoria to everyone who visits Florence!
Don’t blink or you might miss it. This is a great spot to stop for lunch while sightseeing. It’s quick, easy, and incredible. Most sandwiches were around four Euro. The bread was incredible, I would recommend the salami with cream cheese. If you ask, they will tell you which ones are the most popular.
Absolutely delicious! Dont miss this little hole in the wall place as their sandwiches are very good and the wine is tasty. Everything was cheap and fast. Wed go back in a heartbeat.Everything is to-go and you eat on the street next to the counter.
Good Italian sandwiches priced at €4. English menu & two types of bread. Reasonable priced wines & soft drinks.
Top sandwich shop - great for a bite to eat in-between sightseeing. Can get busy during peak lunch hours.
