I Dragon Chinese Cuisine in Forster

Was apprehensive to try at first after reading some reviews but am satisfied with my experience. Great portions and tasty food

We went last night with a group of 12, adults and children. Not convinced at first as it was empty and minimal seating, but when the food arrived - wow! Fantastic serving size, great flavours and really tasty. We will be back!

Takes me back to the 1990s when every country town and bigger suburb had a Chinese restaurant like this. All the Westernised Chinese dishes there as well as actual Western dishes like chips which is still odd for me. I chose the Cantonese-style dishes because the staff were speaking Cantonese and it seemed like a better choice than my friends choices. Atmosphere is dull with the place quite run down but still nice sometimes to get this style of familiar Chinese dishes.

Delicious Chinese, huge serve and plenty of flavour, staff are friendly to.

I have eaten in numerous Chinese restaurants all over Australia and this would have to be the best I have ever had. From short soup to king Prawn cutlets (biggest everto the kun pow chicken to honey prawns. Special fried rice was to die for. Totally recommend it to anyone. Enjoy like we have

The whanau that run and staff are friendly, and make it easy to come back. Unlike the Red headed old lady that worked at Gold Medal around the corner up from Subway. That women needs her head caved in.I enjoyed the food and it was ok enough that I would probably go back. It’s not that it was horrible or not great. Just the sort of takeaway food you would get for a Saturday night at home with the whanau. Instead of Maccas or KFC.In my opinion it’s worth a try. If ya like it. Cool. If not. Cool.

Really delicious food and great prices. They threw in some free prawn chips which was a lovely gesture. We would definitely go back here for some delicious food anytime.

Yummiest Chinese food I have had in a long time

The food here isn’t the best to be completely honest. I’ve order here a couple times and the food just doesn’t taste like it should.Staff however are very friendly, but unfortunately the standard of their food needs improvement for us to visit them again.

Had too wait 50 mins for food , only one person eating in ,Worst Chinese I have had , pork tasted like sea food , the sweet and sour sauce was watered down never eat there again

Removed previous positive review after poor quality last 2 orders.Chow mein contained a lot of lumps of some fatty type meat? and had no crispy noodles (again).Special fried rice had odd taste and binned half of it.Has this place changed owners as the food has gone from the best to the worst.

Just ordered from them! All the food tasted horrible! Honey chicken soggy and sloppy! Rice was dry as anything. Everything tasted as if it was re heated! Not happy!

Food was oily and un eatable was not good at all we will never get this Chinese again when we are in foster meat tasted like it was boiled we spent 100 on this meal and none of us ate we threw it in the bin WE werent happy 2 within 2 years its gone from.great to really really bad

The I Dragon restaurant is a lovely, family, restaurant. The food is always excellent with good, friendly, service.December 2019 changed ownership.

An unfortunate choice of restaurant for my one night in Forster. Unappealing , low class ambience, sticky tables without table clothes but worst of all bland food court quality food. The waitress though friendly has a lack of knowledge of the menu and had never heard of Szechuan beef. I dont enjoy posting negative reviews (well ok, sometimes I dobut thought I should warn any unsuspecting tourists like myself to go elsewhere.

Went by the positive reviews. Disappointed to the max. Garlic king prawn had no flavor or taste, too much sugar addef to the beef, fish cake ovet fried and greesy. Soup was delivered at the end of main courses Asked the waiter whats the difference between long soup and short soup, she replied smilingly- no idea! Now, I have no idea how this below average restaurant gets such reviews...!

Absolute perfection. Best Chinese in a long time. Mouthwatering tender lamb with a clean crisp mongolian sauce. Perfectly cooked duck ginger shallot. Delicious spicy king prawns and pine nuts. Excellent special fried rice and short soup. Wonderful service. Forster you are very lucky to have I Dragon Chinese.

ARPSFour of us returned after 7 months and were not as enthusiastic about our meal as in Sept 2018. Only one other couple dining; it was a Thur night; and while the service was fine the food was less than optimum.

This is the only Chinese restaurant I enjoy eating at. Owned and run for years by a wonderful friendly family who consistently serve tasty affordable dishes in a welcoming environment. While the decor is what you would expect in a chinese restaurant it is clean, fresh and well maintained ...yet they have added a lovely twist to their decore by featuring 2 large colourful abstract modern paintings on the dining room walls. l was even more suprised to learn they were painted by the father of the family business but diners wouldnt know as there is no self promotion from the humble cook.

Wow a must visit place for dinner. Combination long soup was delicious. Great friendly staff and really tasty food.We will be back here again before we go homeThanks guys
