I' Mangiarino - Italian restaurant in Florence, Italy
I' Mangiarino in Florence
Description
Privilege
Excellent food, drink and friendly service mark this osteria out as a great place to visit. It is well worth seeking out - being just off the piazza surrounding the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, to the southeast.Everything was at a decent price, with the exception of some chips (for my fussy eldest kid- these were very tasty, but pricey at 7€!It is worth knowing that they have additional seating downstairs, so do ask for availability, even if they look full 👌🏻
MoreGreat steak Florentine
Wonderful authentic Italian restaurant. I imagine the reviewers who wrote that the staff were rude expected them to welcome them in English like many of the touristy places around the area. I think a quick ciao or come sta would have helped break the ice.
MoreTasty food and very friendly owners/staff. Highly recommended.
We ate here for lunch and wasSo impressed we came back for dinner. Great food and lovely family run business.
MoreIf you are looking for a veritable family restaurant, this is the place to be. The food is very good and the experience is authentic
MoreI couldn’t finish my meal…really sad: ravioli tasted store-bought (or frozen), pecans plain; all rather bland for a pecorino dish. Sauce tasted spoiled. If the food were good, I wouldn’t have noticed or cared that the music was too loud and the servers were generally disinterested in serving. Better restaurants a few doors down. I feel like they’ve just fallen out of love with who they serve and what they do. Really unfortunate, because the shop is cute, even if it’s a little bit over-designed for tourists.
MoreGood food & quite reasonable house drinks
Great quality food in a friendly atmosphere.
Really nice restaurant. Found it while wandering the neighborhood streets. We ordered the steak Florentine, melon prosciutto appetizer and a Bolognese pasta. Even finished off with an order of Tiramisu. Everything was absolutely perfect. Very friendly staff. Got a lemonchello shot after dinner as a surprise.
Morethey were so sweet and the food was so good. made me feel like I was at home :)
Belissimo. Fantastic food and a very friendly staff.
The best place in town.I have try for first time in my life the GNUDI… if you don’t know what it’s this… don’t hesitate and order the GNUDI AL PESTO de la casa… no words to describe it.
MoreExcellent traditional food from Toscana. Its usually full do its better if you make a reservation before.
Morefriendly service with great food and a nice view of st. maria del fiore fueled by delicious grappa
MoreLocal, authentic and ran by family. Great food and experience
Great food, fair price and nice people
Probably the best pasta I‘ve ever had.
Interesting restaurant near Santa Maria del Fiore. The waiting is a bit longer than expected, even if the place wasnt so crowded. The food its OK, nothing special in other places with the same price you eat better. Anyway, you can find there typical dishes!
MoreEnjoyed a great meal and they accommodated our family of 6. We had Florentine steak and veal steak and potatoes.
MoreAmazing food, great staff who recommended some really fantastic local dishes. Would heavily recommend.
MoreJust an amazing place to eat Italian food! Very friendly staff
Homemade Italian food. Best relation quality price and super tasty traditional restaurant, held by a very nice family. By far the best place where we have eaten in Florence! Will come back for sure!
MoreFood was good. Staff was fine. We didnt feel at home.the way other places we ate at in the city made us feel. Food was cheaper than other places.
MoreSome of the best food in Florence. If youre in a hurry, dont come here. This restaurant celebrates its "slow food." Order an antipasti appetizer and breathe in the ambience. With hams and pans hanging from the ceiling, its meant to feel like youve just shuffled into a Tuscan kitchen. I recommend the beans and pasta soup. Its hearty, satisfying, and so very fresh. However, all the local specialties are delicious. Try one. You might be surprised in the best way possible.
MoreGreat stop, just off the beaten path, they gracefully accomodated us with a pasta for my son. We had the bean soup, risotto and grilled cheese, everything was spot on.
MoreWhat a happy accident to stumble across this family owned restaurant. They accommodated our group of 9 which we were extremely grateful for. All of the food was delicious and came out fast and hot.I specifically had the Risotto della Casa and we all split a rare Florentine steak with potatoes. The portions were big. You will not leave hungry! I was in heaven. The atmosphere is very cosey and romantic. Definitely recommend for your visit here.
MoreGreat food, poor service. The waitress was arguably hostile to tourists - weird considering its proximity to the Duomo.
MoreJust amazing. Very friendly. Great
Great food. Friendly service of a small family restaurant. Markets itself mainly as a deli (salami and cheesesbut they also have full cooked meals as well. Highly recommend getting a meat and cheese plate at least as an appetizer. Youll understand when you walk in. The atmosphere was very cozy, tight spaced, in a side alley, and family run. It checks all the boxes for maximum probability of an authentic, non-tourist trap experience (I mean, other than the fact its in the heart of Firenze and semi-impossible to avoid that!!).
MoreIf your spending time in Florence, dont miss this place! Food, service, hospitality was fantastic!! This is genuine Tuscan flair! Enjoy!!!
MoreThe chef there was really a nice person, but the quality of the food was really minimum. Also the waitress was kind of rude to us.If you dont want to waste money and time, then you should look for another restaurant.
MoreThis place was amazing. We ordered an appetizer of fresh cheese with honey, and it was amazing. Whenever you go to a wine tasting tour, bring your own honey, it makes such a big difference. The service was great. Also, don’t order two bottles of wine, unless you intend to wobble while you walk.
MoreDelicious! Amazing truffle pasta. Excellent service.
This is the place you want to go eat! The food was awesome, best lasagna I have had in Italy, and it is a very low key relaxed place. My wife had the risotto and thought it was delicious. The prices are very reasonable as well.
MoreFood was wonderful in this family operated restaurant. We had pasta and steak and all was good.
MoreNothing special, food was good but service was horrible. The waiter just wanted to sit and drink wine with friends. There are better places around.
MoreAbsolutely atrocious! Meat was like mush! Younger member of staff was rude! Can’t understand how the reviews are half decent as it’s terrible! Please avoid! AVOID!
MoreAwesome slow food. Good wine selection. Traditional fare masterfully prepared. Try the smoked Carpaccio, heavenly.
MoreTraditionell kitchen, good large portions but nothing over the top . Service is effective but not friendly.
MoreThe food was so good I cant imagine someone giving a 1 star rating.
I can understand why the negative reviews, the lady in the shop is not the friendliest person I have to admit. Christmas Eve lunch and three of us went in at 12:30 pm, no crowd so got seated straight away. Pretty straightforward ordering, 3 meals and a salad, 2 glasses of wine and water, that’s it. Food came out and it was delicious. Finished meal, paid and left. Pretty fuss free and left with a happy tummy.
MoreI found this place by coincidence and fell in love with the food. The antipasti was delicious as was the main dish (typical Tuscan boar sauce). You have to bring time as the service of course is slower. But its so worth it!
MoreI went to this restaurant with my boyfriend and with my best friend. The food could be nice, but what happened with the staff was horrible. I love Italia and all the italian people, I find them warm and good, but this staff treated us like trash and afterwards they even discriminated us for being portuguese. Dont go there.
MoreIt took two tries in low season to get a table and it came highly recommended by a local Florentine so I had high hopes. The ambience is fabulous but sadly the food and the service dont match it. Average food and the maitre d or owner or whatever she was, obviously wanted to be anywhere but here. The waiter wasnt much better. Dont bother with this one
MoreYeah... Everyone in there was rude. Even the guy who seemed to be the manager. Took about 10 minutes to just get water even though there was only one other table that with customers. Would not recommend. Did I mention that everything was also overpriced. Yeah...
MoreDelicious family owned osteria with homemade pasta, also serving bistecca alla fiorentina. Complimentary meloncino after your meal!
MoreThe worst ever Risotto we have eaten. It was done from a pre-cooked rice with the canned beans. There were also some pieces of sausage and ham, looked as if coming from plates of the previous guests. Very aggressive reaction from the part of the owners and the waitress. Such a shame for Florence -- come on Mangiarino, you could learn how to do the real italian risotto!
MoreWow, that was such a great dinner! We had Pasta for the main course and the Mortadella plus cheese as a starter to share ... the portion was of great size and so delicious! It is a family owned and operated restaurant and we liked the kind service so much! Stop here ... although it is so close to the main tourist places it is far away from being and quality-wise far above a typical tourist restaurant that you find so often in this area! We will definitely come back! Danke and thanks so much for this lovely evening!
MoreQuite small restaurant within walking distance of the Duomo.Family owned restaurant with a nice ambiance. The food was delicious and well prepared with decent sized portions. Only one waitress was serving but we didnt have to wait too long. All in all a lovely place with some amazing authentic Italian pasta.
