I was in town on business for a night and stumbled in just because I wanted to see what a store in Florida had to offer over what I could get in Michigan. After a quick tour from Cheryl, who I had no idea was the owner, I couldnt have been more impressed. So impressed, in fact, that I purchased some beautiful corals that were professionally packaged in such a way that I could hand-carry them onto the plane the next morning for my flight back home. Cheryl knew exactly what documentation was needed and how to package everything up. When I finally got home in the middle of a snowstorm and got the corals out of their bags, everything was free of pests and opened right up. Even to this day, I havent been able to find corals of that quality at the price, either from a store or an individual at a show. Top notch livestock and better customer service.

Simply put.... there isn’t a better place to buy fish. Fully quarantined, great packaging and always healthy. Not to mention the knowledge that Cheryl holds is absolutely amazing. Thank you very much for what you do for this great hobby!

90% of my fish and all inverts along with corals have come from Hydra. They have shipped everything and one of the few places that QT fish. All have been doing great without issue. They will be my sole supplier of fish and inverts moving forward. Do not listen to that Chris Wilson review. He never even visited the store and is upset with Cheryl because of her replying to him on FB when BRS didn’t. He called her condescending names and was very rude, threatened her and vulgar.

Terrible customer service asked their staff questions concerning water quality and they acted like they didn’t know what they were talking about talk to another lady in there I think she might’ve been the owner and she said I don’t think you have the patience to be in the reefing community That’s a great business model to discourage people from Getting into your hobby.....VERY RUDE!!

Bad business. Unfortunately I was treated unfairly. I picked some livestock to purchase. Was told a price. The items were bagged up and the price was increased by $20 at the counter. Then after saying fine I’ll pay it because my wife wanted it. The price was then doubled. Not sure what they are trying to pull. Clearly don’t need the business. I wish I would have taken a pic. The price was listed above the tank for an anemone. Both employees agreed it was that type.One employee worked at NSU with the coral research department and he is the one who also said it was that specific item.Disappointing.

Iv been going to hydra aquatics for over a year now. Out of all the fish stores iv been to this is one of the best. From the quarantined fish, to the healthy aquacultured coral selection, pricing, dry good selection, point reward system, and everything im between, i have never been disappointed with my purchases there! Highly recommend!!

One of the best aquariums shops in Miami !!

I have decided this is my “go to” local place to purchase marine aquarium products and live stock. They always have some good priced used equipment in the lobby that looks tempting but would be a good deal for someone getting into marine aquaria. The store is clean, not too crowded and the prices are on point. I have not purchased any coral yet, but I am hoping to soon and they will have the first opportunity if pricing is competitive to other coral growers. The staff are very knowledgeable and it is my understanding that the store was born by hobbyists. See the 2 beauties I purchased recently!

Great selection of corals and great service. I love how the staff are not just employees, but an owner of the shop almost always available to answer just about any question. Its a small but amazing store compared to others out there.Will be going back often!!

The Most Reliable fish and corals supplier in Fort Lauderdale and Miami.Are you having hard time to quarantine fish you desire? This shop quarantine all the fish minimum 2 weeks before sales at .25ppm copper. I had killed a few tangs because it was very hard to keep water without ammonia and with adequate level of copper. They handle this for you. So you can purchase fish, acclimate and introduce fish to the main tank. I purchased two tangs. Both are very healthy and doing very well.

Met Cheryl this morning as she was opening the shop , her employee was late(victim of 4th of july party?Anyway , she was really nice and took time to talk with me . I do aquarium maintenance , so it was nice to talk shop with an owner. She is knowledgable and runs a very clean business , nice presentation on dry goods and healthy livestock. Wish her continued success!

This place is awesome!! Everyone who works there will answer questions you may have. The corals are excellent and a good price. Their R/O and salt water are very good quality. If they don’t have it they can order it for you most likely. The store is set up nicely and is a pleasure to visit. I’ve had a saltwater tank now for about 3 months and they have helped me along. Donna the owner spent an hour with me going over water values, how to run my lighting, etc. Just an overall great expirence.

Exceptional service. Amazing coral selection. They have fresh salt water and fresh water you pay to fill and the quality is superb. They offer many services for salt water aquariums. Must visit if you are hobbyist or love corals. Great prices

Awesome LFS! very customer service oriented. They have pools of frags and tons of quarantine fish for sell. So yeah,they actually quarantine their fish before you can buy them. Great spot for coral, fish, fish food and supplements. No really hardware oriented but still the best around. I drive 35 min to get there.

Was my first trip to hydra. Was referred by a good friend who told me i wouldnt be disappointed. He was right. I didnt buy anything this trip. The prices are great and there coral selection was on par. Will be back soon with my list.

Just got this BEAUTIFUL hammer coral for 45$. Its 5 TIMES THE SIZE as u know they shrink when moved and placed into your home aquruim so I cant wait till its back to orginally size after its acclimated. Definitely have beautiful corals and great prices!!!!!

Bigger then most. Large selection of corals. High end brand, equipments and products. Staff are very friendly and from my own experience very sincere and honest!.. Fish are kept quarantine until ready to sell however you could buy it and pick it up once they are ready. Only down side is that they don’t have a lot of fish to chose from other then that I highly recommend this place

One of my top go-to locations for coral and dry goods. Cheryl, Robert, and Hector are always there to give great advise and help me spend my money! They have a great selection of corals ranging from 10 dollar frags on up.....but there are so many gems to be found even in the "cheapie" sections!

One of the few fish tank stores that will quarantine their fish when they get them from Distributors. They also make their own synthetic saltwater which is another Plus. I met with Brandon who is very knowledgeable and pleasant to work with. I definitely will be coming back here even though I live closer to other local fish stores.

Absolutely the best prices for corals and largest selection of corals in South Florida! The staffing there are extremely helpful and knowledgable. Before I heard about this place, I only had a few pieces of corals in my tank. In the 5 months Ive been going to Hydra Aquatics, Ive bought over 50 pieces of coral from them and will only buy from them moving forward. I have confidence when I tell people about Hydra Aquatics that they too will have the same experience i had with them myself.

This place is awesome! They have the best selection of coral of any shop in the area.

I am new at reefing and so happy that I found this place. The staff is very knowledgeable and eager to answer any questions that I have. The are more than happy to discuss the skeletal differences between Acans and Lobos something that I dont trust a kid working at a big box pet store to know. The fish and inverts that I have gotten from them have all been healthy and are still living strong. I recommend them to everyone I come across. Over all they have a great selection and good prices, but the knowledge of the employees make the difference.

Love this place!!! I never leave empty handed. Great staff. I can easily spend a few hours just looking at the corals trying to decide which ones to get so many to choose from. Great prices and sales. Hydra has replaced my other coral shop. Love this place 2 thumbs up and 2 big toes up! :-)

Really great place, very helpful and sociable staff, great prices, very nice looking corals, has nice sales from time to time, place looked really beautiful and clean, and was well-ventilated (Might not sound like a big thing, but Ive been to quite a couple stores that are pretty hotat the time I went there, there were a few fish that were dead and sick in one tank, but other than that, it was really great to go. The place is also a bit bigger than most fish stores in South Florida.
