Great activities for children
An amazing art and educational space. Was here when I was younger and it fostered the artist I am now
MoreBeautiful art!
Alot of places to sit, ur not confined to one area, there are more closed off isolated areas if u want, which I enjoy
MoreI only got to visit the exterior... but from what I got to see, I so wanted to go in and explore. Maybe next time.
MoreThe Hyde Park Art Center is such a great place. Its an energized amalgam of studios, classrooms and gallery spaces. Love it there!
MoreI’m a ceramist at HPAC. They fire up to Cone 10 and allow for several types of clay including porcelain. They also have residency programs for established artists and since Covid started they’ve run a ‘Work from Home’ class which I really appreciate. You need to be vaccinated to register for classes, so that might be a downside for folks. I’ve registered my kids here as well, and it’s SO nice to drop them off and walk right into the cafe for a cup of coffee. It’s a really great center full of super nice artists. Thank you HPAC!
MoreI drop off my son to the art class few days ago.Easy find a right location by Google map.Thank you ,From a students mother
MoreThe center offers a fantastic variety of options for both adults and teenagers for no tuition. My daughter thoroughly enjoyed her experience.
MoreThey say pictures are better than a 1,000 words!

MoreA great place to go to do homework in your computer have a light snack or just look out the window and relax.

Its a huge space filled with so many different medium of art from portraits to installations you gotta stop in and check it out if you even think you might be missing some art in your life.
MoreVisited here and enjoyed looking at the ceramic pieces for sale for the holiday sale. Wish I’d made it back in time to buy some, the sale is over mid December so plan accordingly. Some of the most reasonably priced pottery I’ve ever seen.
MoreVisited the cafe. A nice, clean and airy atmosphere with good variety of pastries, sandwiches and beverages cold & hot. Friendly, helpful staff. I will visit again👍🏾.
MoreBest contemporary arts center in Chicago! Free to the public. Amazing out reach and opportunities for Chicago artists.

MoreVery interactive with soooooo much to display. Gotta love the soda machine--very special touch...and the staff are warm and inviting.
MoreThis museum is an amazing gem tucked away in Hyde Park. The various exhibits are amazing. The Art Center offers so much... classes in everything from photography to sewing. This is a great place for meetings, parties, and wedding receptions...or a first date! Do yourself a favor and stop by. It is open daily and admission is free. The coffee shop at the end of your tour is an added bonus.
MoreI liked the idea and the concept but the quality of the pieces is still under development
MoreThis space is always interesting, changing exhibitions on a regular basis, and their classes for seniors are engaging and free!
MoreGreat Ceramic Studio with 2 large gas kilns and 2 electric kilns, plenty of potters wheels and glazes.
MoreLove this place. They serve great coffee, and you can browse some really great art installations. In addition they have great childrens programs to help children get involved in the arts. Getting your hands messy is one thing, but creating subjective works of art that the world can enjoy (and isnt drywall inside your parents houseis a fabulous experience.
MoreIve been taking classes here for years and I know many of the students do! They always have some free exhibit going on. Great place to hang out, mingle, and learn.
MoreNice place. Friendly people. Cool at. Brightly lit. Clean. Only problem I had, as a far West suburbanite was, parking in the city stinks. Give yourself some extra time, to find a spot. Or, take public transport.
MoreNice center with classes artist studios a little coffee shop with sandwiches and galleries. It cool.
MoreHyde Park Art Center has great classes and opportunity to use open studio space as well. There are also several "community supported classes" available as well if you are on a budget... but you have to ask about them because they are not advertised! I always feel welcome at HPAC. :)
MoreWe rented it for a private event. This space is generous in size, nicely laid out and wheelchair accessible.
MoreGreat place to see art from artist at all levels. Cafe with with really good coffee....located in one of Chicagos most diverse neighbors.
MoreNice place to soak up some culture. Theres always a cool art event happening.
Ive always felt so connected to this space. The studios, staff and shows are fantastic and I highly recommend this space.
MoreGreat place to get coffee and a snack. I have had several dates here and a great combo to enjoy art and drink coffee.
MoreGreat classes. Good exhibits. Dont drive, parking is real limited.
Great gallery with classes and exciting exhibits. The Bill Walker exhibit is showing currently. Hes best known for Murals on buildings in Metro areas like Chicago.
MoreIts a wonderful place for a mind to grow experiences to a childs mind is a very good avenue to explore..thank you !
MoreI work with Kuumba Lynx and they allow us to do youth programming there once a week. This is an AMAZING space, but like most Hyde Park venues parking is horrible.
MoreIts a relatively small museum / art center, but its nice! Its certainly worth a visit if youre in the area, and the attached cafe makes a good cup of coffee. If youre just looking to browse some art, I might not go out of my way from a faraway neighborhood, but they also offer classes/activities that I havent yet looked into.
MoreTake nice art classes in the historic Hyde Park neighborhood. Great place for local art and grab a bite at the adjacent Bridgeport Cafe.
MoreThe Hyde Park Art Center has an industrial design an features tons of unique art and creative arts classes. I took a knitting class there and while knitting isnt my forte, it turned out to be a great way to meet people in the area. It also has a cafe (Bridgeport Cafethat is sort of overpriced in food, but their donuts are good.
MoreHPAC is totally worth the trip from Logan Square to the Hyde Park. Its one of the best places to see art in the city. They utilize the large meandering space really well and there are usually a few different exhibitions going on at one time. I love to explore the space, there are a few sweet hidden passages, weird corridors, a library and interesting shows grace the main space. Also, their halloween celebration is the best in the city!!
