烈士公園紀念區的山阜上有「湖南烈士公園紀念塔」。紀念塔於1959年建成，分為塔堂兩個部分。上部為紀念塔，塔高38.6米，橫界面呈八方形，塔身南向正面嵌祁陽石碑心，上面鐫有毛澤東題「湖南烈士公園紀念碑」；下部為紀念堂，橫截面為不等邊八邊形，四周是壁龕，後面設有祭堂，立碑銘：「近百年來特別近三十年來為中國人民解放事業而光榮犧牲的湖南人民英雄烈士們永重不朽。」祭堂內陳列有先烈郭亮、夏明翰、楊開慧等人的遺像和事跡，並陳列有全省76000多位烈士的全部名冊。遊覽區有面積達46.6公頃的年嘉湖，湖面遼闊，湖心有島，通過廊橋和拱橋與岸相連。湖畔備有遊艇，供遊人泛舟。娛樂區有兒童遊藝場和園林建築。烈士公園從1997年開始免費對公眾開放，是長沙市民娛樂休閒的重要去處。

Great park with a nice lake to walk around and boats to rent and enjoy the water with. Overall well maintained. Its my favorite park in Changsha and very close to a great western style restaurant, Schillers

I went into the park thinking it was just a park with little walkways and a lake. It turns out it is much more fun than that. It has a small theme park with fun rides. Places to eat and have a drink. Little boats to rent to go out on the lake. It is a really clean and happy place and a nice way to spend a sunny day in Changsha.

A pleasant park for a stroll. Certain parts of the park have amusements and are noisy. Other parts are quiet and peaceful. Its a large park.
