Simple spot offering health conscious salad and hummus wraps in the Leeds Corn Exchange.
I ordered takeaway from the LUU humpit and the food was great until I bit in and there was a hair in it, a very long hair. So 4/5 for the food, the hair tasted 0/5. But I dont think i can order from them again as it has put me off.
I used to really love the filled pita at humpit but having gone to other falafel places in Leeds, its made me realise theres better places for better prices (instabull bakery in Kirkgate Market that gives you the perfect amount for lunch for £3). The filled pita is honestly just a pain to eat, it falls apart unless you are very careful, the carrot makes the pita easy to fall apart because of how wet it is. I will say there are other things on the menu that are pretty good but how willing to wait for like 20 plus minutes. Owners of humpit, two people isnt enough especially whilst taking deliveroo orders.
Brilliant food, cheap and sooo filling! A vegie delight. Lovely staff, quick service and great environmentally too
Really disappointing. I remember coming here when they first opened and getting a large, filling pitta wrap that took no longer than 10 minutes to make. Having returned the other day, I had to wait just over 30 minutes for a much scaled-down version of what I had first received. I dont think Ive had to wait so long for something as simple as a pitta with falafel. Given the smaller portion size and the fact that there were only two other people to serve I dont understand what took so long.
Simple tasty spot selling hummus and falafel. But dont go too late -- I once made the mistake of turning up rather late and I had very few choices as to what to put in my pita!
Great idea but doesnt suit my personal taste. I eat lots of hummus at home and in cafes/ restaurants, I just dont like the stuff here, bit too. . .well earthy tasting for lack of a better word. Its fresh, its healthy, a bit basic, its got a great ethos and its generally busy on a lunchtime so I obviously buck the trend. Ideas goods, just doesnt work for me.. . .not sure why I feel guilty about saying it but I do!
This is a lively vegan and environmentally friendly place. We went at the lunch time rush and still only waiting a max ten minutes. They staff are hard working and really friendly. I didn’t know what everything was and they were happing to help. It looks like all the packaging is compostable or recyclable. I had the hummus bowl which has chickpeas, falafel and salad and comes with pita. It was amazing. It is reasonable price and a definite must for any whole food lover.
Really really good and fresh food and good service as prices
Lovely food, so full afterwards as usual :)
I absolutely loved it 😍 quite reasonable price and friendly staff. Will definitely go back again.
Amazing every single time and weve been coming since 2014! Hands down our favourite place to grab a quick lunch in Leeds!
After visiting the York branch, we had very high expectations of this place. However, my pitta bread was filled with some horrible, overpowering orange sauce which made it inedible. I had sweet potato fries with it, which were nearly stone cold as they were prepared at some point and sitting out in the open, though they did taste good but would have been much better warm.
Really fresh food, great service and a great option for a quick lunch in Leeds. The hummus bowl is my favourite!
First off, I am a meat eater. But thoroughly enjoyed my brown pitta brown, filling and sweet potato chips! Would I eat their again? Yes I would 👍
I came for lunch with a friend with we enjoyed our food. Individual items are a touch on the expensive items compared to some other places, but the meal deals are really good value. It is a card only place, so make sure you have a card with you.
Fantastic food - couldnt stuff it in fast enough. Thank you xxx
Lovely location, very tasty food and nice vibe. Would have given 5 stars but I have two little negative notes: first of all, they only accept cards, no cash, and second, they charge 90p for eating in... and dont have many places to sit. Still totally worth it tho!
Good quality ingredients. Tasty meals and good value for money. During peak times it can take quite a long time to get your order, but it is something to expect from a very popular place. Certainly recommend if you want healthy fast food.
Service & quality were good, not sure about the taste though!Maybe because I’m Egyptian & in Egypt we have our own version of all that food on the menu but with totally different taste!I think I should say,- not recommended for Arabs- recommended for everyone else!(Mango sauce = No!)😅🤨
Fantastic food, super friendly staff and amazing surroundings to eat
Have loved going to this place for years but today they let me down. Messed up my order and ended up with a bowl of hummus and chickpeas no salad or pickles (I had ordered a filled pita). So either everything is now an extra or I just got unlucky. The hummus is lovely but today was very disappointing.
Our first visit to this lovely gem of a cafe. I had a salad what a huge selection and so fresh. My partner had a filled pitta wow how good was that not sure they could of filled it any fuller. Well definitely be back next time were in Leeds
Had a great vegan snack here. Not my first time eating falafels and hummus but the sauces and pickles added to the sandwich really made it delicious. Staff helpful, food was fresh. No reason not to give five stars here. Picture included
Very quick at serving and fantastic food.
This place was better than I expected. They were so busy when me and my girlfriend came and they served us very quickly. The food is absolutely amazing and so tasty. It is a very healthy place to get a meal and quite cheap as well. The staff was brilliant and super nice. Definitely coming back whenever I can.
The staff coped well during a particularly busy point in service, they were clearly stressed but managed to remain calm and professional when serving all customers present. The food was good, perhaps the filling of my stuffed pitta could have been distributed a little better (all cabbage at the bottombut other than that and enjoyable vegetarian/vegan eatery
Perfect lunch time meal. Plate of hummus with pitta and falafel, mushroom/onion side. Rooibos tea to go with it. Worth the £6.50
Wow, something went wrong.I wanted to go here because my son has been to their branch in York. There was a large queue at lunchtime (a good sign right?so I can back half an hour later. As soon as I got to the till I was told, with a wince “It’ll be 15-20 minutes”.Ok, so our drinks and a brownie came out straight away. But the brownie was frozen! The sales assistant walked right over to the freezer took out a box of brownies and put one on our plate! Incredible!!!30 mins passed with no sign of food, I began to give up hope. And then it finally came...Two sides were awful, nice idea but put together wing someone with no appreciation of seasoning. The hummus was alright but nothing special. And I expected the pitta to be warm or maybe even freshly cooked. It felt like it had just been unwrapped from a Tesco value range packet.I’m not going back...
Good, filling food. Reasonably priced (although it has recently increased...). Not blown away by the new sides, but still love the original hummus bowl with pita.
Tasty food and large portions for a reasonable price. We all opted for the falafel filled pita with water and green teas. Friendly service and great location. Will definitely return soon.
The eat in meal deal for £6:50 is very good value and really yummy 😋
My favourite place to eat when visiting Leeds! Amazing!
Im not a vegan, though I am very open minded where food is concerned and like trying new things. This is one of Leeds hidden gems, I come for lunch once a week. The food is fresh, good quality full of flavour and plentiful. I have brought friends here who are also not vegan but love the food so much! I would highly recommend Humpit as a healthy alternative!
In retrospect I should’ve chosen the hummus with just falafel instead of the mix but it was lovely nonetheless to sit in the exchange square and indulge in some good, vegan food.
Best place to eat in Leeds. Yummy falafel and hummus with gorgeous salads. Everything is vegan too. Bonus!! I go here every time Im in Leeds.
Absolutely scrumptious, had the loaded pita and made me so full I was joyfully rubbing my belly. Great prices! The manager was also exceptional, recommending some proper nice ice tea and making us feel so welcome and relaxed
Top lunch destination in Leeds! Its extremely tasty, filling and really reasonably priced.I always opt for the Hummus bowl, with all the extras, and a home made lemonade!Try it if you havent already, you wont be disappointed!
I come here often for a quick lunch and the food is always top notch: quick, tasty and guilt free. Staff are warm and welcoming, Will is always very attentive. Definitely recommend
A truly lovely experience! I popped by after a long session in the library, needing something to cheer me up. The falafel wrap was tasty and served with a smile. Imogen (I think!? Blonde girl with glasseswas really attentive and talked me through all of the ingredients. The amba sauce was the absolute dream and Im glad she persuaded me to have it. Thank you Humpit
Here all the time with my boyfriend / friends in uni for really good hearty vegan food!! Huge props to liam too for always looking after us so well & being super cheery :-)
I wouldnt normally go for this type of food but what a pleasant change. Loved the mint tea! What a great place the corn exchange is!! If your from Leeds or visiting pop in and support the old building!!
You get a lot of food which is nice as I was expecting a dollop of hummus and a pitta only. Option to eat in or take out. Could do with more seating areas.
When I think of hummus and falafel, i think of Humpit. The first bite is just as good as the last bite! Highly recommended, the hummus is flavoured well, falafel is crispy, theres a lot of bits and bobs for texture and sharpness, herbs for fragrant freshness and the pitta bread is soft and savoury.Definitely well priced and filling.
Whenever someone visits me I make sure to take them to Humpit. You get a lot of food for a little price and its tasty and good quality. The lack of seating is the only thing that lets it down, and sometimes its a game of who can catch a table the quickest when other customers leave.
Awesome food for a really good price. I simply love it: healthy, tasty, simple and super filling all at the same time. Im not vegan, but Humpit makes me thing about that :)
Cant go wrong with half and half (Hummus and falafel). Its fresh, extremely tasty and filling. Its all put together on ordering so a ten minute wait is likely. Its lovely sitting in the corn exchange, great location to eat in. Always worth the wait and definitely recommended !
Food quality is great, nice atmosphere. Perfect for the price!
Called in while browsing in the Corn Exchange. Found Humpit an excellent place to lunch. The food was delicious, the staff couldnt have done enough. We will certainly be going back next time we visit Leeds
Really busy at lunchtime but worth the short wait.I had the felafel (there is some hummus in the pita too!which was delicious and well worth the asking price. The home made lemonade could have been more lemony but was still totally refreshing.
The atmosphere was great. The staff help push the feel of a very relaxed, cool place to go for lunch. I ordered the falafel in pita. The portion was large for the price. It was okay. I didnt enjoy it as much as I thought I would (based on other reviews, especially the falafel). It was good and I would go again.
