Chain restaurant offering a fixed price 3-course menu in a dark wood setting hung with chandeliers.
Not cheap, decent taste, but to small portions, staff didnt even asked me how i want my meat and got it bloody.Front side is cousy and more guiet....in the back its too noisy like a big cantine
What an incredible find! Full of locals and so welcoming. Beautiful restaurant with a great menu and super-knowledgable staff. Dealt brilliantly with a gluten allergy. Delicious food.
Nice restaurant with universally delicious dinner choices. I had stew. It was wonderfully seasoned and very tasty. I also enjoyed the spinach salad and the red velvet apple dessert.
Ive had dinner here several times over the years on my visits to Amsterdam. The food is dependably good, the service is nice and its conveniently located near Centraal Station. Its also well priced. Its a reliable standby for a satisfying meal in Amsterdam.
The place looks good in pictures and seems fancy, but the food standard here was surprisingly low. I attended a company dinner here and got the vegan/vegetarian options but I can easily say that my colleagues who got the meat options were not happier. We waited unnecessarily long for the food to arrive. The "ramen bullion" was extremely unsatisfying and I can tell hand to heart now that their "pomodori risotto" is the worst risotto I had in my life, if I can call that a risotto in the first place. The rice was dry and almost cold, not creamy at all, while the dish was full of toppings like onion rings and pickled onions which had no reason to be there taste-wise. This points to the general problem that some "restaurants" have: they cannot cook a basic dish properly, but they overcrowd the plate with random stuff to make it feel rich and fancy. On top of that, you get bottled water when you ask for tap water at the table and the wine glasses have a white line so the waiters know how much wine to pour which I found very cheap and esthetically unpleasant. The most important thing in a restaurant is the food, and, if your taste buds have developed, I can strongly recommend against choosing this place.
Great atmosphere and delicious food!
Had a great dinner in this cozy and comfortable place! Food was very good I would come back.
Great ambience, superb food (had vegetarian mainly - fresh and delicious), warm host (he was incredibly kind to make room for me at the last minute, thank you!and a wonderfully gracious staff full of warmth and hospitality. Loved it :Thank you!
Very nice atmosphere, and very polite and upbeat personnel.I would suggest reviewing the menu.We were a big group, with a preset menu. I ordered crispy tuna pizza (starterand risotto (mainand was left veeery disappointed. The starter was not a pizza, and the main was not main. The risotto was too little to be considered a main dish, and also not warm enough which makes me think that it was either reheated, or left on the counter for too long (it took approx. 2 hours to arrive to the table)I understand that preset menus might lack a bit compared to the normal menu, this could be the only explanation!I dont think I would pay for this food.
We asked to be seated away from the door but the person responsible refused though there were at least 2 other tables available inside. That person was rude, uncooperative and raciest against Arabs. We left immediately as a person doesn’t feel welcomed here. Totally not recommended.
My first ever visit to Amsterdam and Im introduced to this gorgeous restaurant with a splendid varied menu. Delicious food, presented with love, care and kind service. No nasty surprises when the bill came. Definitely recommend
For sure a good vibe! Service was nice. Food I felt could have been a bit better though.
Average service, limited choice of drinks and the kitchen is borderline for the tag price. There are better place in town.
We went to Humphrey’s restaurant with a rather big group of 7 people - and the experience was supreme overall! The food is served really neatly and was delicious. Great wine menu and tasty deserts.Great service, great food, great value.
Killer cocktails and a three course menu at a decent price. This place is great
We had in total a very good experience, had a slight misshap with some bones in a fish course, but they changed to a new plate of food right away! The cocktails were very good too! 🙌😊
We went on a work trip for a team meal. The food was delicious and the service was first class. We had a great time and will certainly go again. The prices were fantastic too. Highly recommended.
Amazing food, lovely attentive waitress and beautiful restaurant, highly recommend the Dutch Dover sole
Great food and very nice service. A good restaurant
Very nicely decorated. However the food could be better, the vegetarian orzo was rather dry. The soup and the dessert were good and so was the bread as a starter. Friendly staff.
There were good and bad points with this restaurant. Ill start with the good:Love the decor and atmosphere, the way they have divided the tables with foliage and branches gives a very intimate feel if your neighbouring table isnt that far away. The menu is priced fairly for three courses. The Dover Sole was excellent, as well as the fries. Now the things that could be better:Service was confused - we sat down before the couple next to us but they received both courses ahead of us. Between our starter and main we almost thought they had forgotten about us it took so long.My partner was disappointed with the salmon roll starter and his pork medallion main. He said the flavours didnt go well together, and the pork was dry and veg was hard in places.I think this restaurant has potential. I think they are trying to style themselves on the Ivy chain of restaurants in the UK with the botanical decor and varied menu (there is no one cuisine, you have dishes from Asia, Mediterranian, France all on one menu). It just needs a bit more polish and it will be a great place.
Amazing place to eat. Good food and really good service.
A truly surprising location. Central restaurants in Amsterdam can be a little underwhelming and expensive, but not this one. Location, service, food was absolutely 100%. Not cheap, but not expensive either - a group of 4, 6 or more wont get a shock. I was in a group of 25 with a fixed menu - group bookings work here!
The Humphreys is a very big restaurant that is not expected from outside. The staff is friendly but sometimes a little unmindful due to many guests so that you have to re-ask for your ordered stuff. The meals are good in taste and enought to become full and the prices are acceptable on a normal way. From my side a recommendation to visit this restaurant.
We choose Three course menu. It was the best Carpaccio in my life. everything was delicious, tender and soft. tasty drinks 🤌
Food is good, but the attention is a disaster. They take Soo long to just take your order (passing by the tables without even looking, even when you call them), then if you ask for water is another 15minutes (consider a more minutes for them to bring you the glass). Some of the waiters are rude, and when asked for something reply in a bad manner.Honestly is a nice restaurant, but its not worth it.
The environment is amazing, green everywhere and staff super cozy. They got also a special candle for celebrate the birthday of my girlfriend... Recommended!!!
Lovely place for dinner. Variety of options to choose from
Staff was very friendly and nice atmosphere of the restaurant but food was okay( I was expecting more from my last experience)
What a lovely restaurant! I had a fantastic experience overall and will absolutely return. The staff were helpful, the ambience was perfect, and the food was unbelievable. Additionally, it is 100% vegan & vegetarian friendly! Thank you for a lovely experience.
Lovely meal for valentines day. Gorgeous beef carpaccio, Fillet Steak and tiramisu in a lovely atmosphere. Restaurant is huge, like a tardis inside and was busy but service was great.
Bad Service. It took very long between courses. We weren’t asked/looked after for if someone on our table wanted another drink, because we weren’t even looked at, it took very long every time before we could order the drinks. The food was mediocre at best, pretty looking but taste of nothing. Not enough vegetarian/vegan options. Another weird thing was it was indicated on the menu that every main course comes with a side of fries and a salad; we were with 9 people and only got 2 portions of fries. Wen we asked if we could get a bit more (for the kids), we were looked at very arrogantly and got an extra side salad instead. Lastly, one of us ordered a cappuccino, and because of his lactose allergy he asked if there was oat milk. The waiter said confirmed that there was oat milk but did not come back. After 20 minutes we asked about the cappuccino, and he told us that there was no oat milk after all. It took a total of 30 minutes for 1 soymilk cappuccino. This is just one of those places that tries to look cool and interesting but, in the end, it is just bad service and overpriced mediocre food. Would not recommend this place, there are a lot of better places to go to in Amsterdam.
Outstanding food. Warm bread and dips were excellent, hot and crispy fresh. Mixed grill was so perfectly cooked, chips were lovely and crisp. Beef skirt amazing also, everything was so full of flavour. Decor of the restaurant was fabulous. Service was nice and fast. 3 courses for €29.95 was amazing.
Great menu. Great 3 course deal. Sadly for me the service let it down. The staff were very polite and friendly but they were under staffed. This resulted in long wait times between courses. If they had more staff this could maybe be solved? The food was delicious. On a Monday night it was nearly fully booked.
Great atmosphere 👌🏻 lovely people 💕 and tested food 🥘
It might not look like it from the outside, but the restaurant is absolutely beautiful and very chique from within! (Dont judge a book by its cover). They have a 3 meal course for 29,95€, they are small/medium sized but deffinetely enough to fill your stomach for the night.
Had a good experience here. food was generally good, but in some of the dishes you could think the cook is in love.Staff was friendly, the atmosphere was nice.
A lovely new design.A perfect place to dine.A huge restaurant that attracts foreigns and locas, serving a very delicious dishes. The bread they back and serve before the meal is my favorite.Add the amazingly moderate price they charge, and you get the perfect place to dine in Amsterdam
Food was great, service time was really good and staff were friendly and polite.
Excellent meal, good value for money. Great ambiance and good unobtrusive service.
Really beautiful and cozy restaurant with very tasty food on the menu. Quality of food and service is outstanding.
Food is at good quality on reasonable price. Time between main course and dessert very long (subjectiv, -1 star). (Onlymenus available, 3 dishes, reservation recommended, but we went without (2 personswhich worked. Not touristic, local experience.
Worth a visit. You get a 3 course menu. With the choice of 6 variants per menu + you get some free breadThe food tastes good, the portion size is enough, the light is dimmed and the waiters are friendly.I would advise sitting in the first room.Going further into the 2nd room it might get quiet noisy
Very tasty dishes and friendly service..One of the BEST options in Amsterdam
Brilliant value in Amsterdam. 3 course set meal for €27.50 comes highly recommended. Vegetarian options available. The meat was fantastic, the service polite and professional, and the ambience really great for larger groups. Good wine selection.
Humphreys was the first restaurant we went into after getting into town and I must say, we were greatly impressed. I have food allergies and they were quite accommodating. The food was mouth watering is was so amazing. While the prices are a bit higher, it was worth it. We do not eat much and they had no problem with us sharing. We ordered one of the 3 course meals and I even tried the orange drink. It was a little too zesty for me, but still pretty good. I noticed that more than one person was waiting on us and they took really good care of us. While tipping is not mandatory, we did because the food and service was exceptional! This is a nice place but we saw everyone dressed in all styles, formal and informal. Definitely stop by this place if in town.
So far best restaurant on my European trip, good price for 3 courses, nice staff and good ambiance.
Great ambiance and excellent service. Fixed price 3-course menu with quite a few options. Beautiful presentation. The stewed beef shoulder was pressure cooked beyond recognition and had very little texture left. Otherwise everything was excellent. Chocolate fondant is definitely the way to go.
Large restaurant, but stylish and cosy. Great Dutch/French cuisine and friendly staff. Make sure you reserve in time though, cause its popular.
Really delicious! Very enjoy it. Friendly staffs :)
