Hummus Elijah - Mediterranean restaurant in Mariano, Philippines
In partnership with Grab, Hummus Elijah offered discounts I could not refuse. I got both the Hummus Elijah (P240 from P300and the Falafel in Pita (P176 from P240).When it comes to hummus, without a doubt Hummus Elijahs rendition is the best in the country. Its silky smooth and so good that you wouldnt mind having this superfood as a regular meal. Hummus is great for heart health and has several antioxidants that it is great for general well-being.Eli David has over 20 years experience in the preparation of hummus that he has already taught his kids nanny the secret of making this fine Jewish/Mediterranean favorite. She was one of the pioneers in Elis restaurant.Elis mastery of the chickpeas is also evident in his Falafels/Falafel in Pita. His sandwich is hefty and flavorful that even if youre a meat lover, you wouldnt miss your brisket or ribeye when youre having his Falafels. 4 scrumptious Falafel balls encased in soft and thick grilled pita lathered with terrific Mediterranean salad of cucumber, tomatoes, olive oil, lemon juice, parsley and other herbs and spices. Liberally spread the accompanying white garlic sauce and their in-house hot sauce and youll be singing your Hallelujahs in no time.Cant get enough!
I checked in to my hotel on Makati Avenue and searched for halal eateries nearby and found this one the closest, since I was very hungry I just walked over to try this out. I ordered Shawarma Elijah with rice, it’s served with a side of Humus and some spicy sauce not sure what the name is. Shawarma rice tasted very good. I also tried the baklava and it was up to the mark!
We accedently found this authentic humus-restaurant.😄 The bread and humus were very delicious and freshly made. 😋🤤👎🏼 The only downside is: the staff should better communicate, our order was not right. Other guests in the restaurant got a different price on their. There were 4 staff members in the restaurant and 6 guests having some diner.🙏🏼Anyways,I highly recommend this place when you visit Makati!
Amazing hummus, really rich with flavour and a decent sized portion too. The pittas were fresh and soft and the chicken was tasty too. Not the cheapest but worth the money in my opinion.
I pass by to take it on dine out / pickup goodThe place concept is interesting, hummus is almost in all dishes. The hummus and shakshuka (hamshukain one was very interesting and yummy dish. The knafeh was good for a take away dish. It was missing a bit of syrup but hard to do it on delivery as the syrup will make the dessert be too soft. So I expect it to be better for a dine in as they will probably put syrup when serving.I recommend the place
Food is average.. dont expect wow Lebanese when you visit this place..Must appreciate and mention that the preparation was fresh and the restaurant was best and clean.. though the ambience wasnt very inviting.. We visited on a Tuesday for dinner. Can be tried..
Food is good. Place is clean and even the staffs are nice. Aesthetic as well and can be Instagramable if you’re into that. For a people that doesn’t eat this type of dish often, you might have hard time choosing what to eat. Just get their best seller. Overall, the experience is good.
shakshuka was really good , will be back to try something else.
Good food, good people, good coffee :)
Great Middle Eastern food in the heart of Makati. Glad to have found this spot after a flight. Good hummus! Highly recommend for those looking for a good Middle Eastern food place.
Very legit Mediterranean restaurant and great healthy options. They sell many of the authentic ingredients on the side too. Loved the falafel and taziki sauce. We will be back.
Simple eastern Mediterranean food, with a vegetarian orientation. It tastesgood and its affordable. The place is practical too in Makati Poblacion, a
Tried their Shawerma , its not authentic as it seems. The chicken was not the traditional shawerma style. The tahini sauce and the spices is completely off from authentic middle eastern one.The only good thing about it was the bread ,Was expecting something real.
I get it why they say this is the best hummus in Manila -- because it was really, really good.
Came across this Mediterranean restaurant by accident. Absolutely lovely food with generous portion sizes. The food was well priced. The staff on the early morning shift were great. Kept the food rolling out and the service team ensured all customers had everything they needed.Definitely worth a try.
Excellent food at very excellent prices. Will definitely be back, especially for that delicious falafel 🧆
Great place to enjoy hummus and falafels here in Manila! It was our first time ever eating both kinds of food, and much to our delight, they were delicious! Especially the falafels. We appreciate how the spicy add-ons are served on the side so you can add according to your liking (or not at all).Coffee was okay, not our favorite. Shakshuka was good. If theres two of you ordering and you think 2 pita bread are not enough, think again! Theyre like a cup of rice, so theyre very satiating. Dont end up wasting food by ordering more than you think you can eat (though you can always have extras wrapped up).Vegans will love it here but there are also meaty options like chicken in your hummus. Staff is nice. We will definitely be visiting again.
THEIR PITA BREAD IS HEAVENLY—super soft and warm and perfect!! Even perfect to have just on its own with some tahini 😋 ordered their hummus, shakshuka, and shawarma. Portions are good also. 11/10 would recommend.
I love Hummus Elijah! The food is not only delicious, it’s also wonderfully balanced, light, and healthy — all while giving you the value for your money.Their Sabich Pita Sandwich was both fresh yet rich at the same time. The moment it got to the table, I was pleasantly surprised with how huge and heavy it was! The sauces to pair were delicious too — the green being super spicy and the white tasting like a lighter tahini. To make everything even better, their staff were extra accommodating. They really knew their menu well and had good recommendations. It’s always great to have waiters that genuinely know the flavors of each dish, thus are able to give you informed inputs on what best to order. Super great experience here! Can’t wait to come back to try their other dishes.
Shakshuka is a better vegetarian dish.It is a small semi fastfood with convenience store selling imported canned goods from Israel, Greece, and Turkey.Food is delicious with choice of spices. However it has no parking space, so I rate 1/5 for lacking parking space, and 5/5 for the food.
"The Best Falafel in Manila" - they werent lying! If you want the most satisfying, full and semi healthy meal, I dont know where else you could but Hummus Elijah and order their Falafel Sandwich. Its the most complete meal ever. 4 huge balls of the most flavorful falafel balls Ive tasted in the city and a good slathering of their signature for good measure. Their pita perfectly absorbs all the juices from the chickpeas and the tahini without becoming soggy at all. Its honestly a steal at 180 pesos. Turkish coffee is decent as well.
The resto has seen better days, it seems a bit run down, needs some repair, perhaps due to the pandemic there are financial strains on maintenance. The pictures on the walls show there has been deep understanding of lebanese cuisine and the way to present and serve meals. Not much is left. Also the original charm of the room is nearly lost, only the pictures and reviews from newspapers and magazines conjure up an atmosphere that you can hardly see and feel anymore. What is still outstanding is the variety of oriental spices and ingredients in the shelves which are displayed as in a store and which you can buy there or order through Lazada. We ordered and tried almost everything from the menu, the falafel was cold as if taken from a freezer, the salad was good, especially the tomatoes in it, which is rare in Manila. The hummus was fresh, they use high quality olive oil on top, The Turkish coffee was strong and aromatic. The cutlery and plates were very simple and did not match the pictures on the website. Prices were very fair, much lower than in BGC. Service charge is included. There is no parking in front of it so you must leave your car in the Century City Mall for 50 pesos and walk the 200 meters to the resto.
Creamy rich hummus and crispy flavourful falafel in good size portions what more could you ask for. Only had takeaway so cant comment of the service or ambiance but the preparation time for takeaway was very fast. Would 100% reccomend for any vegan/vegetarians who want a change from Philippino food.
My favorite in Manila!! I can eat this everyday. I’m in love with the hummus mixed with salad. The falafel tastes incredible too. Everything is a must-try: shakshouka, desserts, etc. 👏🏾
First time eating here. So far, its been a great experience. For vegans, theres vegan options on the menu. 👌
Always a nice place to eat in Makati. All foods are fresh and well prepared. The hummus is delicious. Good prices and good service.
Let me raise the stars from the last time I reviewed this place. Its now beginning to be one of my favorite places in Makati Ave already! And they now accept credit card! Bring everyone here! Beni should now feel a bit nervous about Elijah!*************************************************Food is great but will take me about 4 visits more to decide to say if Benis should move over. Hummus is good...the spicy sauce is the greatest!
Delicious taboule and wonderful falafels. The restaurant is small but the attitude is excellent and the food is very tasty. We took 3 things to try and were fascinated by the taste and quality of the food. We are trying Lebanese cuisine for the first time, but it will definitely not be the last. The desserts also looked delicious, but well try them again next time. We recommend.
Good place to try different Mediterranean food. I love their sandwiches and hummus. Baklava is small but its so good and authentic.
I love this place (and they said they love me too loleven though I havent technically been here lol I discivered it first on Zomato because I was looking for places with Shakshuka, and oh boy did I find it here. Being 20mins away from my house (at least the delivery said so), I went for it. And Im glad I did, it was superb. Better than what I try to make at home, sad to say lol But yeah! I usually GrabFood this as I often go hungry after midnight. Their service is fast, I dont have to wait for my Grabfood for hours eh, and their serving is generoussssss. I gave this long due review because this should be here, spreading word! The pictures below are mine, and I just finished the Sabich (the one in Pita burger as I like to say hahahaand is saving the mushroom burekas for later. I am halfwat thru the mango graham; and while it tastes like any other mango graham out there, their serving of it makes a tinee bit of difference (talk about condensed milk soup).Anyway! If youre wanting to try something vegetarian, you can try this restaurant. :)
Ordered via GrabFood..Their Hummus was definitely the most delicious Ive tried in the entire Metro Manila. Youll definitely get addicted to it!Everything they serve has veggies in it, so you have the confidence that youre eating something healthy.
Great Israeli restaurant serving purely vegetarian fare located in Makati Avenue in Makati City directly across Berjaya Hotel. They serve lip-smacking Hummus, Falafel, Zataar and Baklava. They also sell great selection of spices like Curry Powder, Tahini, Dried Dates, Figs and lots more. Can handle groups as they have big tables. Has WIFI and accepts all local Credit Cards. Definitely coming back soon when i get the cravings!
After I ate at the nearby hotel (SGI knew I had to find something else! I tried a few places and this was, hands down, the best! I had falafel in a laffa, and finished with a yummy baklava and tea, I left very satisfied! The falafel was excellent, tahini on the table and an amazing spicy condiment. I will definitely return here and would recommend this place to anyone. The service was courteous and unobtrusive! Cozy, clean and peaceful!
Came here for the hummus. We ordered hummus and shaksuka, both came with 2 pita breads.Shaksuka and hummus are both great. Though I still love the hummus in Cafe Ilang-Ilang (Manila Hotelmore, they did justice in the hummus they serve here, a lot better than the hummus Ive tried from other restaurants. Shaksuka tasted okay.I love the place because there are a lot of dining options and things to buy like the spices and healthy ingredients/food like the black chia seeds, dried dates, etc. Place was also accessible.Staff - service was a bit slow, maybe because there was only 1 server at lunch time. Will definitely go back here to try other food.
Wowsome food! This place is a treat. I was staying at City Garden Hotel, Makati. And was searching for breakfast restaurant. And found this little treasure. If google would not have shown me this result based on my preference, I would have missed out on this super place and superb food.Food: just awesome ! Everything was perfect and you would feel that you are having authentic food away from the origin place of this kinda food. Their cardamom coffee is a must try and if you get sweet tooth than please hsve turkish baklava. And please try shakshuk without giving it a miss.Ambience: pretty old school iran Iranion joint type place. Very limited tables to sit and dine. But excellent options for different spices and small shopping. If you are looking for cooking for smithing by your self than this place will offer you variety of Indian spices as well.Service: well informed staff about the menu is a big plus, especially when you are confused with their mouth watering menu. So had a great experience and fast service.Pricing: ₹₹₹ not so expensive and easy on pocket. Approx 200 peso per pax can fill your tummy for good breakfast optionOverall: a must visit place if you are in Manila. Highly recommend this as an international traveller.
Fresh, authentic hummus paired with fluffy pita bread... Delish! Nice restaurant to satisfy for your late night, light meal cravings. Service a bit slow though but staffs are pleasant. No parking available.
Good falafel and hummus with soft pita. Enjoyable spot to grab a light lunch. Only issue was a bit overly salty which Ive noticed at a lot of restaurants in the area so may just be a difference in taste.
Great place for tasty hummus and variegation based Middle eastern and Mediterranean dishes in the center of Makati . Prices are reasonable and atmosphere is cozy service is great.
Loved the place !!!! Great great mediterranean restaurant :almost full house even at 3pm! We had the samosa, elijah combo (standard hummus with chickpeas, small salad, yellow rice, falafel, pita breadplus shakshuka (eggs with tomatoes). Vegan option available to turn the eggs into tofu as well ! Highly recommend !
First decent Hummus I ate outside of Israel (and I travel A LOT). Really nice people, fast service, great atmosphere, TASTY FOOD!... I live in Manila, and for sure Ill be back. Highly recommended! :)
This humble place is a gem for vegetarian people! The food is great but our may want to stick with the hummus because the salad is so simple its not worth it for the price. Hummus Elijah is so good you need to order another pita bread just to finish it. Will definitely go back here again!
One of the tastiest Mediterranean cuisine restaurant I visited. Their large Hummus Elijah (P250is big enough to make me feel full. Youll feel the authenticity of their dish and makes them truly a hidden gem in Poblacion, Makati.
Is good. Casual and very tasty food. Some things are not worth it the price, like the ssalads but still a good option. The "store" next to it is bullocks with theyre prices, a coffee maker for 1200 pesos! U can find a bigger and better at century mall for 500 pesos.
This spot is on the 2nd level from the street and offers vegetarian dishes only. Everything is freshly made but for me it lacked a little flavor except for the eggplant dish which was quite flavorful. They have some middle Eastern groceries also available for sale.
Authentic Mediterranean vegetarian food. They don’t serve any meat. Hummus is excellent and grilled cheese pita. Their dipping sauces are also one of the best tasting in manila.
Nice cozy place and easy to find location, very accessible too. We only had the falafel. Serving justified the price. Would like to be back for further sampling of their menu.
Good food and ambience for the price which is very affordable considering the place is in the heart of Makatis central business district.Staff is very friendly.Only issue is when the place gets full, you might have to wait a little bit until your food gets served.Overall, this place is highly recommended.
I ate the Pide with falafel and falafel with tahini, both was delicious! Very similar to the arabic kitchen! Ill go tu Hummus Elijah again! Shukran lak!
It was Maundy Thursday and after our long walk at the kalbaryo ng poblacion, we decided to take a quick snack before going home.We ordered Hummus Elijah, Baklavah and the local tea. We enjoyed our food and definitely will come back to try the other dishes.
Went here with my wife the other day, all i can say is the food is GREAT! Ive been looking for a place that serves great hummus and this is probably it bar none. Will definitely come back to try the falafel next time. The place is neat and well maintained there are magazines and i believe i saw a few board games so itd probably be a nice place to chill as well. Could use better lighting though but maybe thats just me since we went to the place after dark. And as always its always a pain to find parking near the area. We ended up parking in century mall.Still i highly recommend this place, i do hope they open somewhere near ortigas soon heh.
