269 Westferry Rd, Isle of Dogs, London E14 3RS, Dombarovskiy
Breakfast, grills and burgers in arts centre cafe set in a former chapel with its own rear garden.
Its my local so always full points for cosy feel and walk back across the road.. They are working on getting the chef so full menu can bought back!!
Went there before seeing Mary and Mietek. Coffee was great, and so was a toastie. But the best were the people behind the bar. Really great venue and atmosphere. Highly recommended!
New staff have made it their own play pen. Gross, but usually an ok place
Stayed in an airbnb next door to this bar for two weeks. The bartenders were amazing, really friendly and made me feel right at home from the start. Really chill atmosphere upstairs and more noisy outside were people tend to gather and chat more. A great option if you are traveling on your own and wanna meet new people.
Just amazing place!! Big thank you to the Dan ( Vardanbest person I ever met in Isle of Dogs, he makes this place like a home, really appreciate his attitude. Very cosy place, with great people. Already told all of my community about this place. Love it. Feels like home bar, close to home. Thank you
Feels like a village pub! Great atmosphere, friendly bartenders, surprisingly good choice of wine and cocktails.
Jo and Natalie were super friendly! Great place hidden away on the Isle. Cant recommend this place enough!
Got rid of the best manager they ever had, I will never spend another penny in here
Cool bar a little off the beaten track with an eclectic clientele. The food is excellent, the service is good, and the atmosphere convivial. Whats not to like?
The Bar Upstairs is our local pub, I dont usually post reviews but I have to give them 5 stars, great cosy atmosphere and excellent staff who are friendly and professional. There is a great amount of space in the beer garden on a nice sunny evening and once the weather gets colder the upstairs is perfect for a couple of drinks after work or even for an event. Moving away from london soon and will be missing this place!!
Mind you, it’s no longer Stubhub and currently serves only burgers. You might think it’s a bit overpriced but I’d say it’s worth the money. Warm, stacked up and yummy! As for the health and safety, you are asked to use hand sanitiser and give your info for contact tracing before ordering, and the barman wasn’t wearing any face covering at all. It was a very hot day which maybe is why, but I hope he is now. The woman who brought us our food was though.
These guys never disappoint. Used to be there all the time when I was part of The Space Theatre & they’re still rocking it. Great breakfasts and really nice atmosphere. Beer garden is a must for sunny days.
Very relaxed atmosphere. Good music, decent burgers, and dog friendly. The old fashioned was a little too sweet as the bartender hadn’t made one before, but it was still good. They even have a pretty good games shelf.
Good food and nice atmosphere. When i went on 22nd August to watch The Jailors Daughter, there was a guy behind the bar who totally ruined the experience. What i dont understand, is how he even got his job with his negative and unhelpful attitude, never mind how he got away with speaking to people in the distasteful way he did! Maybe it is because the bar will always get business due to its links to the theatre, but that is no excuse for rubbish customer service! Maybe he broke up with his partner or hated his job-the world does not need to know that and i advise that he gets training on how to be professional or show respect because in my opinion, there are people who are more pleasant to deal with that your business could benefit from. Also, i was not the only one who felt this way about the guy. I heard others comment on his general rudeness too. Also, i have noticed that the owner of the bar has great customer skills through his/her responses to reviews-their responses are personalised. So, the rudeness is not a company-wide problem.
Really great pub. Good food at affordable prices. Very relaxed atmosphere. Good selection of drinks. Remember to ask for the special craft beer menu. Will definitely visit again.
Amazing breakfast. Fantastic little place
Cause little local bar with good choice of drinks and coffees, really nice outdoor area in a middle of neighbourhood. It’s located in the building of community theatre Space and good choice for pre theatre dinners or post theatre drinks. They running several offers on food and drinks during the week so it’s not going to break your bank. Highly recommended!
The "Full English" was amazing. We had the mighty one, a little bit of everything. Just what youd expect. The locales were very pleasant and the staff friendly.
Came here for breakfast and its top quality. Vegan breakfast is better than any other in London (& naughty tasting), and the Avocado Feta was both a generous portion and fantastic. Will be frequently coming back. (Freshly squeezed OJ and great coffee, as a side note)
Lovely staff, relatively well priced drinks, loyalty app, great outdoor area and brilliant community theatre. Very pleased to have as a local, would recommend for breakfast at the weekends or weekday evening drinks. Good community of locals.
Cool place for a beer in a relaxed atmosphere. One of my favourite in the area. Beer is good. They also have a nice space outside with few seats. Go for a nice beer and a talk.
Surprisingly good food, and very large portions. The staff are helpful and polite. Its a quirky venue with enough seating to be comfortable. There are limited (to zerogluten free options, which is why theyve lost a star. But, worth a visit if your local.
Once a huge fan of this cosy establishment but it has disappointed recently especially since the change of chef/menu last year.£2.80 for a tiny cappuccino is quite steep for the Canary Wharf area and £3.40 for a "large" (which is pretty much standard size in most coffee shops). Todays service was a little slow as we received our food before the coffees. :(I normally order a "make your own" breakfast as they dont allow you to make substitutes on the set breakfasts but the singles portions are a bit skimpy (a single slice of bacon for £1.50 is a bit disappointing). The avocado on toast sounded like a great idea when ordering but was very dry and tasteless and was served with just 1 poached egg which looked odd.I really hope the food improves as its my local but when I think of a great brunch/breakfast Im more inclined to head to Hackney as I know Im getting better quality food and service for a decent price.
Nice local pub/cafe with lots of character. Great for brunch and had options for my vegan friend as well. Only annoying thing was that the outdoor seating area was covered in cigarette ashes from the night before.
Came for breakfast - great fry up, but disappointing eggs Benedict - needed a hacksaw to get through the muffins, and eggs basically hard boiled. Lovely atmosphere, quirky decor, and good service though.
This is a great little gem of a bar with large outdoor area for the summer months and cosy indoor area. If serves great bar food with their own homemade sauces. It has bored games and other entertainment should you need it.
Sadly, this pub and kitchens is all for show and gets a big fat zero on customer service. Their servers are hipster know-it-alls who treat you like an inconvenience to their wannabe acting careers. Their kitchen does not do any substitutions for dietary requirements but happy to charge you for extras, and their chef has little grasp of his own menu, routinely serving vegan meals with butter and covered in animal fat and egg drippings. The atmosphere is lovely but I always leave remembering I could have gone to a cafe, and walked away happier, with equal quality food and saved money.
Went there because we thought they did vegan food, they didnt have any vegan items on the menu but you could create your own breakfast. The staff werent that knowledgeable about what was in the food but the food overall was very tasty. The hash browns are a must!
Service friendly. Dont pick a salad - they just empty a bag of kale into a plate chuck on some sunflower seeds and throw a tasteless spinach quiche on the side! Side order of chips was £4 - tasteless and a ripoff! The burgers looked good though!
Lovely little find, cosy bar with a theatre space downstairs. Good selection of drinks and reasonable menu. Staff are super friendly and its the kind of place you could just sit all day reading the paper if the mood struck you.
Cosy cafe serving absolutely phenomenal breakfasts until 4pm. Could not be more generous portions, but also incredibly tasty. Swift service, friendly staff. Tiny toilets, but the constraints of the building make this inevitable. Otherwise, loved it!
Cosy little cafe, great for weekend breakfast. Can recommend the mighty breakfast and freshly squeezed orange juice.
The burgers have shrunk and are now dry, tough and tasteless, plus there is no coleslaw, very few toppings and the chips are disgusting. A real shame as the burgers were amazing. I have to say the venue and front of house staff are great....still love the place, just not the burgers!
Probably the Isle of Dogs best kept secret. Tucked into the back part of a Victorian church built in a Byzantine architectural style. The front part (the churchs naveis a community theatre and facility. Very congenial relaxing ambience which encourages one to linger and play one of the many board games or one of the many books on offer. Pleasant staff. Excellent food and cooked full English breakfasts in particular can be taken in the first floor cafe or on a sun-facing ground floor terrace . One needs to be a bitbof a Houdini to use the gents though. (I cannot vouch for the ladiesVery reasonably priced for this part of London.Would I patronise again ? You bet !
Hubbub is located inside an old Victorian chapel. Its a small but beautiful space with a nice heated outdoor area. The breakfast there was delicious and I would highly recommend the eggs Benedict!
Great atmosphere, big portions, and quality food. Staff are always friendly and helpful, as well as welcoming. This spot is absolutely perfect for nurturing yourself back from a hangover at the weekend.
Really lovely little place with fantastic staff who are friendly and helpful. Brunch was delicious and you can easily end up here for a few hours and getting your midday drink on. Only one high chair though, when they could do with more like three. All in all, well worth a visit if youre nearby.
Really great little cafe/bar! Its tucked away at the back of an old chapel, which is now a theatre. It has a dozen seats inside, and plenty of benches outside. Plenty of drinks on offer, include draft beer and cocktails, and the food is good and comes in massive portions!
Blindingly good service and the fresh orange juice is amazing! The bar staff are all super nice and funny and Dave and Monika the managers are top notch! The burgers also are out of this world!
Nice and cosy hangout, friendly staff. Proper English breakfast with thick potato sliced fries. It on the top floor (underneath is also a nice place called the Space, with dance festivals e.g.& they have a terrace outside. Love the Dinosaur poster!
Granted, the place is beautiful, the interior cosy and interesting and hip. And the breakfast delicious.BUT £4.10 for a pint? Of beer? Ridiculously expensive, no one should ever have to pay over £4.00 for a beer. Its the same with the food, although its good a tenner buys you a simple bun-and-beef burger, anything else is on top of that.I regret it, it is a very nice place and I wish I could go more often, but these prices make it prohibitive.
Ive been going here since Ive lived on the Isle of Dogs (four years), and still love it! Good beer selection, decent food and the best breakfast on the Isle of Dogs by a mile.If you dont love this place, youre either stupid, have no taste buds, or dont know what a cool bar looks like even after it slapping you in the face.
Extraordinary little pub hidden away somewhere in the wilderness that is isle of dogs. Great vibe and fantastic food. Sitting outside is wonderful on a nice day. One of thing is the state of the managers beard. Its all rubbish and patchy. Makes him look like Rolf Harris. Charming enough though. Great legs. Rest of the staff are great and I like Poodles for breakfast. TALLY HOE!
Fantastic watering hole, definitely the place to be if you ever get stuck on the Isle of Dogs. Love the atmosphere in the beer garden - especially on London Marathon day. Food is top notch! The manager is a feisty one, reminds me of Napoleon. Although, Im not sure whether Napoleon had a funny beard like his? Who knows?
Great food, great atmosphere and a great venue. Decor is awesome. Especially liked the black and white silent movies playing at the bar! Nosferatuuu!! The bar manager has a rubbish beard though and a wasp ate one of my chips...which let the whole place down a little in my opinion. Otherwise it would be 5 stars!
I went here because of the reviews. Not disappointing at all. Tried vege burger. So big and I still feel so full after walking back for about 2 miles. Its good and taste so homemade . I dont like the cappuccino though but the coffee beans taste somewhat different than usual. Would come back for breakfast. as they said the place is famous for that. There are not many seats but the setting is lovely and quirky. Got chandeliers on the ceiling, wooden floor and chairs, some books to read and wifi. Worth a long walk
Fantastic food. Ive had a couple of breakfasts here and loved it each time. Amazing Sausages, eggs, bacon etc....all top notch ingredients. Good service too
Best breakfasts in London. Burgers are awesome too! All in all, its a cosy little place to chill out in with a lovely atmosphere and great staff.
Located in the top floor at the back of this converted Church (now theatreis Hubbub. Cosy and very friendly bar/restaurant which opens 12noon for breakfast and lunch. Their burgers are outstanding coming with shoestring fries and coleslaw. You wont be hungry after this meal. Staff is very friendly and this place has that community athmosphere given the theatre connection. I have been there 5+ times and have never been disappointed.
A 250 year old chapel that once was against alcohol especially in theatre. Today it stands as an outstanding pub. They even sell delicious burgers for £8.Legend says that if you come here at night, you can hear the ghost of the priest walking about .... as it turns out...he loved alcohol.
