HuHot Mongolian Grill in Fargo

Very delicious food top notch excellent for picky eaters go in and pick exactly what you want on your plate and watch it being made infront of your face but watch it be careful its extremely hot steamy hot anyway but very very definitely delicious Satisfying

Let me preface this review by saying Ive been eating at HuHot for many years, this is not my first or even my 20th time eating here.This place used to be good, it is no longer good. Its exceptionally passable as a restaurant.The food is alright, there indeed are a lot of options. That being said the condition of most of the food there is pretty appalling.The food preparation stations, and grilling area were very dirty. The sneeze guards had clearly not been cleaned for several days. Im well aware that this style of restaurant can be messy but this was something else. Ive eaten at other hu hot restaurants and they did not look this bad. Ive eaten at this particular hu hot in past years and it did not look like this.Beyond that honestly the service is fine, the price is fair, but this place has gone from a 5 star restaurant to a 2 star over the past 5 or so years and its just sad to see.

I always love an evening at HuHot. The food is excellent and is a great stop for a good bite to eat.

Nice place but not my type. I like well cooked food. The way its been cooked, Im not satisfied with that. Long waiting line to get food get cooked.

I loved the place, the dynamics and everything inside.It took me sometime to understand how the process works, but later, it was fun how you can customize the bowl of noodles with all the vegetables, sauces and type of meat you like.The people working there are so attentive, and follow up with all the customersI will visit again

Dine in, grab ingredients and go, sometimes they did not mix the food right away so the flavor was not fully infused. Also appeared to be under staffed slightly.

We love Hu-Hot. We come here fairly often and always enjoy it. The ability to make your own combination of food and sauces is perfect for basically everyone. I always go with chicken or beef base and I love going with the sweet and sour sauce with the Khans favorite as well. The grill warriors always do a great job, bang the gong if you give them a tip and they have a song to sing. Overall a great place to eat lunch or dinner.

Huhot is probably our favorite restaurant. The staff is great, and the food is excellent.That being said:They got rid of the green curry sauce just to put the same garlic sauce on both sides? Which brings me to my second point. Also they expanded the seating but the grill is the same. So we wont ever go during normal hours. The rush is a bad time to go unless you want to stand for 15 minutes for every bowl. Its an unpleasant experience when its really busy.

1st time going was definitely an experience! So fun! Get there before rush hour lunch or dinner 👍 super yummy!

This used to be my favorite place to eat however, the lack of ingredients, shortage of staff, and the lack of care the newer staff take towards their costumers is cringeworthy. The place underwent a management change 5 or 6 years ago and the seeds of decline began. Its time for another change in management.

Great food, great experience. My server was friendly and attentive. I enjoyed the whole concept very much. Lose one star for the condition of the mens bathroom though.

The order was entirely wrong, they mixed up the meat and sauces with two different plates. The only thing right was the veggies and noodles. The bag was also covered in sauce from the containers not being properly sealed.Also we never received our dessert!!!

I love the food and that you can go back for seconds. Seems like they are a little short on help, just like every other business these days.

It was fantastic you go through and put what you want in a bowl top with your choice of sauces and then they cook it on a grill in front of you it was just great. It was quick and the food was wonderful and you can go back as many times as you want. Cannot wait to go back.

The grill started with two people with horrible attitudes. You could feel the tension. They werent putting the food on the grill or cleaning it until all the food was off. Then the, who I assumed was the manager, came in and really helped the situation. Waitress was ok at best. Did not bring drink refills. The grill was dirty. The food was low on most of the options. Not a very good experience overall.

Food is great. Amazing choice of noodles and sides and sauce. Love the staff and chefs. I would not recommend if you have any diet restrictions. Its all mixed-up.

No flavor to the food at all. Completely lackluster. We had high hopes for this place because we have a Mongolian hot grill restaurant in our home state. Boy, to say this was underwhelming is giving it a compliment. Overpriced, also. At least it wasn’t a waste of an evening eating out because now I know to never come back here again.

It was really nasty the meat was just frozen shards, the line system is so close to the food. for a first timer it’s hard to navigate. The waiter was the only beacon of hope. The rice tasted better than my meal.

The place was filthy! Most of the food and oils were empty. Food line took at least 20 minutes to receive cooked food. Restrooms were absolutely disgusting!!! I was so grossed out, I dont ever plan to go back!

Our family of 5 was there today. The staff was over worked and over stressed. But. The cooks were rude. The floors were dangerously not clean. The sauces-almost all of them were completely empty. And the service areas were sticky and unsanitary. It was horrible. Between the 4 adults in our party, we had maybe 5 or lates. It was $70+. We will never go back.

HuHot is an all you can eat buffet style restaurant where you make a bowl full of noodles, meat, vegetables, and sauce and you watch the chefs cook it on this big circular grill. At this HuHot, the wait staff was very friendly and quick. The line was long, but that expected on a weekend. The prices were surprisingly good. I went with two friends and it was $20 per person. It was an overall great experience and Id love to come back if Im ever in Fargo again.

To start, the bathrooms are absolutely disgusting. Their is urine and fecal all over the walls, toilets, floor. The bathrooms are not clean or have been cleaned. We had a party of 7 and the added a table to the end of a booth. Needless to say we had to request a change because nobody wants to keep getting up to let someone out to get another plate. The table was stained and filthy, just overall the restaurant felt dirty and unsanitary. I don’t even wanna know how dirty and unsanitary the grill and food prep stations are.

The service was adequate, and you could tell the cooks were burnt out. Overall food wasnt terrible, but everything added up. The place was trashed, and there were large lines of people. I havent been to a HuHot in years, but I cant believe the brand has fallen this far.

Busy for lunch. But the grill moved like a well oiled machine. We had a few minute wait. Considering they were slammed. Every table is full its looks like. Great place. Will be back forsure

The restaurant was packed. The waitress was very nice. She got our drink orders correct and provided my husband and I a bowl of rice (for me; I dont eat the noodles). Going through the process of making our bowls was kind of hectic. There were children who were pretty much left to their own devices. I felt slightly uncomfortable because people were standing too close to me. I feel like if there are that many people in the line, there should be a worker there to start limiting the amount of people getting in line. Just have a chain or something like the fair to cut off the line.The first round of food was fine, and I wanted to go back for seconds, but even more people were coming into the restaurant. I decided to not go for seconds, as it was so crowded, I wouldnt have been able to even get a bowl! My husband went back for seconds, and I had mentioned during the first round that I wondered how they would be able to remember who had what. Well, my husband got back to the table and he noticed that he was given the wrong plate! I was upset for him because again, there was no one to manage the amount of people who were crowding the entire area. I flagged a waitress down and we told her that the cooks gave my husband the wrong plate. She only apologized and asked us if we wanted to go make another. We told her no, because it would take longer than necessary to even get the ingredients. She apologized again and brought the check. We still ended up paying almost $40 for just the two of us and one incorrect plate that my husband didnt eat. There really should have been some accountability, and the managers should really start having limitations on the amount of people allowed to go at one time. That many people all making their bowls and then being backed up to the point that other people cant even start making their bowls shows that there needs to be structure and limitations.My main point and complaint is that even when we told someone that my husband was given the incorrect plate, we still had to pay almost $40! Thats not how it should have been. And they brought him out another cup of pop and he didnt ask for it or drink it! Our first visit to the Fargo HuHot may be our last.

Everything is frozen (meat and veggieswhen you put them in your bowl. Maybe that’s normal for Hohut but other Mongolian style places I’ve been to dont do that. The grill guys are fine, the food tastes okay, kind of bland and cheap though. Waitress was sweet and quick, and they have beer and wine. Place was very busy, very cafeteria feeling instead of a restaurant. I don’t think I’ll return.

I love Huhot almost always...but for some reason it was just a bad experience...we were there for almost 3 hours and we were only able to get food 2 or 3 times each. The line was wrapped around the grill TWICE. The food was still good and our server was very kind...but I dont think I could come back if this continues...I think there was a lack of staff and people were still being seated and clearly the workload wasnt comparable to the amount of people trying to eat as well.

This was super tough to review. So I have to base it on over all experience. Food is frozen and tastes like frozen food. You have to mix your own ingredients so it can be hit or miss. I made two plates and both came out bad. Yes I know I’m to blame for the flavor combinations but I don’t know how to mix Mongolian to make a good flavor. But for just a walk in customer it can be a bit confusing with bad results. The price was good for a buffet but you have to like what your eating to make it a value. Floor needs to be vacuumed . The buffet area was a disaster. I think I’ll take a pass on this restaurant there are way to many other places to eat in Fargo.

11-21-20 - We went to the HuHot restaurant today for the first time. It was very easy to figure out. Basically filling a bowl with all kinds of veggies and meats then presenting it to the guys at the huge grill to cook while you watch out all be done. Then you return to your table to eat. The price is for all you can eat so your are allowed as many trips a you would like. It gives you a chance to try different combinations for fun! Attached are photos of our final masterpieces! This was a fun place to eat. The table host was accommodating and friendly!12-9-21 - We visited this fun place once again! Everything was great once again and there were far less people this time. We were able to have some fun conversations with the cooks and now I can add more photos! We love this place and we will be back for sure!

We loved eating here when up to visit our boys at college. Now with Covid, I am not sure if the process is the same, but the food should be just as good. Always a fun time picking out your food and watching the guys at the griddle stir fry it for you.

Made a reservation a few days ahead, they seemed unprepared when I asked about the two allergy menus I requested when I made the reservation. The cooks seemed a little bit annoyed that we had two allergies in our party since they had to get the barriers and new spatulas out for each person. The food was great and overall good experience beside the mixup at the beginning.

It was busy but the grill staff was amazing and moved the line fast. The food was really good. Just make sure you use enough sauce so your noodles dont dry out when cooked.

The staff was great! The atmosphere was typical for HuHot. I was disappointed that they didnt have Root Beer and they ran out of Fruit Punch while I was there, but my server was very kind and handled it well. Im sure they arent facing any struggles others arent. Overall, I enjoyed it. Well done!

After our family of 8 (6 young kidswrapped up a full day of shopping for winter gear, we were hungry and exhausted. We chose HuHot as our late night food spot and are so glad we did. We ordered easily and had immediate access the all you can eat buffet and grill. Loads of meat, veggies, and sauce options and a super fast grilling action. For kid who prefer a more normal meal, mac n cheese or chicken tenders are available for order. The staff was very friendly, courteous, and helpful. The table and seating was clean and the atmosphere was both relaxing and vibrant. This is a special dining experience you dont want to miss!! Jason, the manager, is a terrific host and he even entertained our children at the grill! Such fun! And FWIW, kids 3-12 can enjoy the entire buffet for only $3.99.

I thought it would be good to eat here! I was not satisfied at all! I say Genghis Grill is 10000% much better! The meat at this place is flat and not good at all! The meat at genghis grill is Far Superior! I honestly will Never ever eat here again!Too bad fargo doesnt have a Genghis grill. Because they are much better than this HuHot place!!!! And waitresses arent very communicative!

Really good. Were out of a lot of sauces and didnt replace for about 30 minutes. Extremely busy but the workers did amazing with the business. Very nice. Accommodated me being gluten free! Also had gluten free soy sauce available.

The food was delicious and our server was great. However the cleanliness and atmosphere was severely lacking. After the hostess led us to the table the booth seats were full of food that we had to wipe down ourselves and there was food on the floor under our table. Then there are the bowls. If a bowl comes dirty out of the washer, it should get washed again. There was food on the floor everywhere. There were only a few food items that were labeled correctly, everything else was incorrectly labeled. We had to find someone to ask what a few items were. When there were employees refilling items they did not clean up where food options had fallen into other containers, it was a mess. The music options of the music player by the grill were not family friendly at all. I was extremely disappointed. Is there also a dress uniforms required and training on keeping the food area clean? Picking your nails and messing with your hair by the grill should not happen if you ask me. I think the server at our table was trying to make up for everyone else, but it should be a group effort. If you come to work, you should do your job well and be ready for work and be aware of your surroundings.

The manager lady was a super friendly and personable person. Very much a great place to eat. Was my very first HuHot I went to 12 years ago or more. They still are great it was a great experience and highly recommended. Dont forget to tip the cooks as well when they prepare your meal to your liking. They are the art behind the finish product. Go see them soon. You will love it

Very happy I stopped here. Awesome concept of a hibachi style buffet. Everything was delicious, hot and fresh. Likely to come back because the combination of ingredients and sauces is endless. It would be hard to replicate a meal twice. Although it could use a little more cleanliness, still 5 stars from me.

This was my first visit to this restaurant. All of the employees were very friendly and the service was very good. The food was very good. There were many customers in the restaurant when I was there. Definently a place I will stop at when I go to or through Fargo again.

5/5 Service is amazing, atmosphere is great, the music is nice and definitely not over the top, the sauce selection is superb, the meat choices are your normal Mongolian choices, beef chicken pork imitation crab and Pollock, the veggie and fruit style choices are great. And the people cooking your food know what their doing and its fun to watch them make your food. I honestly cant say enough about this place so youll just have to try it for yourself. To each their own. Sit down for a meal and enjoy! (I recommend small bowls, experiment around, and try not to over do it right away so you can enjoy everything)

This place is going downhill. For the 5th and final time that I frequent this restaurant, the service and management continue to decline. The ingredients bar had 7 or 8 of their oils end sauces run out and food sticking to the grill because of it and no one communicated it to management. I had my drink incorrectly 4 of the last 5 trips, and twice mixed up in the same visit!Overall I love the food, but when no one patrols the food stations or sauces, it looks like were scraping the bottom of the barrel. When you have to flag down your server for a refill, you might as well bring in your own drink.Ive been coming here 6 or 7 years or so. However, I think Ill discontinue until new management takes over. PS I tried to leave a tip, and gave the server $25 for a $18.79 tab saying, "I need change" yet the person brought back my $5 bill and $1.21 so I couldnt even leave a decent tip without leaving the whole $6.21 Lol. Unfortunately, the service was not worth over 30% so instead Ill leaving my tip on Google maps.

Mongolian grill restaurant that has 15$ AYCE dinner option. You pick the ingredients and the sauce, so if the food doesnt taste good, it isnt their fault. Recommend making smaller bowls and going back multiple times to get more variety
