Guy at service desk was friendly and understanding but the stairs and balcony leading to the room was absolutely DISGUSTING and the room itself was worse! It looked like it hasn’t been deep cleaned in years, there was dirt all over the walls, doors, window sills and mold in the shower and floor cracks. My friends and I paid $94 for one night and didn’t even stay! I requested a refund following my proof in pictures but was told to call Monday as everything is through Expedia! This place needs to have something done about it!

For having a restaurant on site there shouldnt at least be a continental breakfast

The beds were comfortable, however the place needs a deep clean. The pool had silt on the bottom, and the stairs were dirty. The room was reasonably clean but still needs a good bleach. Its really outdated, and if I had any less tired Id have moved hotels. Not really worth the $220 a night I paid for sure. The hotel also needs to serve more than cereal, yogurt and toast to be considered a breakfast. I rarely leave a negative review but the sofa pull out was disgusting, the pool was gross. Wont stay here again

Dont ever go here! Horrible customer service, told me to F off, which is really disrespectful and hes apparently the manager who owns the place. Highly doubt it. And the rooms are complete trash!

Dont stay here. Moldy dirty bathroom, backed up sink, dirty rippped sheet. Yikes. Ive never stayed in a worse hotel.

Omg where do I start , where do I start .Ill write up something later when I have time but I have pictures and videos and a picture can say 1000 words and out of those 1000 none of those words would be any good...

The room was clean but seemed a bit "tired". It was quiet and A/C worked great. Had a great shower with lots of pressure. No coat hangers in the room. No bedside lamps which was weird. Only two large towels. But the location is great near lots of good spots in Moncton.

I give -0 this place they try to still from us and we got lucky that are credit card had see it it happen last year and service very poor and the pool and plaster and the wall was it is to much to say .....

We canceled our reservation after showing up in Moncton at this place, it does not look anything like the photos, more like a low income housing spot. I don’t know who owns it, but yuck.

The staff seem friendly, very easy to get along with. My stay has been comfortable so far.

Not the cleanest or cozyiest hotel, the pool room as well as the pool looked as if it hadnt been used or had maintenance to it seen the 90s. So many holes in the room and broken peices off the ceiling etc... The television didnt work nor did 3 or 4 of the lights and bulbs in the bathroom. Just poor service and at that had it pre booked at a lower cost and when I went to check in they said it had been cancelled for some reason and then insisted to tell me the the cost was almost 50 dollars more then when I booked the room online in which received confirmation for. Probably last time I will go there!

I would not recommend this hotel also known as thethriftylodge now to anyone ..I reseved a room and when i got there my room was full of holes and very dirty.I refused to sleep there and ask for another room they told me there was nothing available but i could cancel. So i did now they wont reimburse me ....Bunch of crooks... This hotel is the worse by far ...Not fit for a animal to stay in

You get what you pay for. This should not be apart of the group of hotels as it is not representative of such a wonderful group of hotels.Continental Breakfast: non name cereal, white/whole wheat bread, non name juices (yuk), yogurt, plain oatmeal only, coffee, tea.Rooms: out dated, dirty towels, dirty pillows, marks and stains all over the hotel walls and doors. Two rooms we viewed smelled.Staff: friendly and helpful.

All I can say is wow. You definitely get what you pay for. Crazy amount of rust around the pool. The "hot tub" is boarded up and the stairs to it have caution tape... Looks like a crime scene. The pool was in a different building than we stayed in. The continental breakfast was in another building. The hotel doesnt look like its been updated in decades. The front desk people were just wearing street clothes. The throw pillows in the room had whitish stains on them (Ill leave that to your imagination). For $20 more we could have stayed somewhere nice. My advice... Splurge the extra $20….. you are worth it.

Although room and bathroom are small it was very well laid outsnd clean. Management was very friendly and helpful. Continental breakfast included. Lots of eating places in the area as well as shopping. Only complaint is no closet and although there were 4 hooks there werent any hangers to allow you to hang up your clothes.

This place was bad enough as the beacons light hotel. It is by far the worst hotel I have ever seen we didnt even unpack the room was dirty the bathroom was disgusting and the place as a whole is a dive. Drive down the road and stay at the Best Western thats what we ended up doing.

Rooms were a bit dated but clean. Basic accommodations close to some restaurants and the Moncton hospital.Parking was decent, but they do need more security. Two cars were broken into the week we were in town.Not sure if it’s the location itself or the neighbourhood.Staff were extremely friendly and helpful.

Was ok. It was clean and we were able to check in after the office closed, which was awesome!free breakfast had cereal, muffins, toast, coffee, tea.I am Celiac (gluten freeand was Not able to eat any of the free breakfast. Was a good place to sleep the night.

This hotel is disgusting! I booked online before seeing the room; then was disgusted once seeing. The room itself was musty smelling mixed with wet dog and the bathroom had visible black mould in the showers. This is not worth the price! I asked for a full refund after seeing the room; which I was denied even though I was there before check in time, and was only in the room long enough to breathe in the unsanitary air! Still fighting for my refund!

Extremely misrepresented on Google.The staff was friendly however upon entering our room, my partner and i were alarmed at the pungent odor of urine in the room. The desk person moved us to another room however did not refund our money. Prostitutes and vagrants frequented the premises during our stayNeedless to say this was not a good experience.

Great value! Motel style which was great with a dog. Staff was kind and helpful. Room was clean , hot water was broken for several hours but they got it back up and running. Fridge, no microwave. Tv was basic but acceptable for the price. Cool close line in shower. Breakfast was limited to toast, muffins and cereal. Also had coffee and tea. All more than acceptable for the price!

I would never stay here again. So disappointed. The room had wires wrapped around the TV that were dirty and looked disorganized. One headboard was 3 inches lower on one side than the other. Spent good money to lay my head and get some sleep after a long hard day at work. Nope that barely happened. 3 1/2 hours of sleep for the price I paid is ridiculous. Never again. No security through the night. 4 am and people hollering up a d down the halls and outside. No one even came to check. Pathetic breakfast too. Nothing but bread, yogurt and cereal. Will not come back.

I brought my 3 little girls with me on a trip to Moncton for 2 nights. Get to this property, and it’s one of the most dingiest places in the area. There was caution tape all over the place, steps were rusty and shady looking, cigarette butts all over, including a wine bottle full of them at the top of the stairs, men were drinking outside the building, the room smelt musty. Needless to say, I returned the key and didn’t stay. I made a complaint with booking, who then took my complaint to management. They offered me an upgrade, which I refused, because the property was so dirty. Then offered me a $122 gift card to stay again. If I didn’t want to stay the first time, what would make me want to say again? I didn’t get a refund, had to cut my family vacation short, and ended up staying only one night. The girls were bummed out. I’m disappointed with how this was handled, and will NEVER stay at another Howard Johnson’s again due to my experience. Stay away from this property!!!!

I had a great sleep, but that’s about all that was okay with the hotel. We went with a soccer team, and the entire teams rooms had issues inside the rooms varying from cigarette smell to musk to mould. The rooms looked like they haven’t been renovated in over 30 years, and need a large renovation. The free breakfast that is included only has a toaster with bread and bagels, cereal, and juice but no sight of fruit.

In desperate need of a remodel. The pool was very dirty... Green water.. Rust in the bathtub... Standard cable on HDTV is terrible and blurry... Wifi is terrible at best. The walls in our room need to repainted or at least cleaned. Air conditioner looked to be just thrown into the wall and not finished. At 200$ a night this is completely unacceptable.

we booked a stay for 3 days 2 night , the last night someone broke into our vehicle. The hotel showed no sympathy to what had happened, I went to ask what the charge was going to be where we wouldn’t be able to check out at the right time, due to not being able to put anything in the vehicle until the police where done, the women at the desk said I can only give you one hour, no more because the room needed to be cleaned, which I get but they weren’t willing to help us out at all. Also while waiting for the police to arrive we where talking to long term current people staying there , and there has been many break ins over the last few weeks which there was no warning. I do not recommend them.

If your a ratchet crack pipe lover this hotel is for you , to the bugs in the sheets and the mysterious slime that comes out of the bathtub . And the horrible staff that yells at you for absolutely nothing when your proving them wrong . I wouldnt wish this place on my worst enemy to stay at. Very disgusting, very dirty . And they wont refund your money .

The staff is friendly and the price is cheap but its not a very upscale or clean motel. The beds are uncomfortable and the rooms are not very clean. I saw 3 rooms and they were all in the same condition. The sheets seemed clean and recently changed, but everything else was dusty, rusty, and old, including the towels. We had no smoke detector, just wires sticking out where it should have been.

Place looks nothing like the pictures. Booked online and when I pulled up it was very sketchy and run down. The room we book was beyond small and smelled so bad of cigarette smoke. He offered us another room which was beyond run down and dirty and had 2 double beds when I booked a king. I left and would not even stay here, but they had no problem charging me anyway which I think is terrible considering they did not offer me what I booked, which was a non smoking king room. Do yourself a favour, don’t book here.

We booked a room before seeing the place as most people do. Showed up and there was 2 other people at the hotel complaining about there rooms. We figured we would give the place the benefit of the doubt. We got a room key and heading to the room. The hall was dirty then we got to the room and it was also dirty (what a surprise). It was also nothing like the pictures advertised. There were so many red flags I dont know why we even have it a chance. We went immediately back to the front desk and said we werent staying there and we would like our money back. May I also mention when we got to the front desk there was another couple having the same issue.The man at the front desk said we had to get out money back from the site we booked through. The site we booked through apologizes and said we needed to get the money back from the motel. After the site we booked through contacted the hotel the guy at the front desk then said we have talk to the manager.... Its been 3 weeks with countless attempts to speak with the manage via email or phone with no contact. Clear trying to avoid us. For 10-20$ more you can stay at a clean hotel with nice staff. We ended up having to go to another hotel so we ended up having to pay for 2 rooms. If you take anything from this DO NOT STAY HERE. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

PATHETIC! if i could i wouldn’t even give this hotel one star. the first room we were put in was disgusting, hair in the tub, feces in the toilet. the second room we were put in was nicer but sheets were stained with yellow substance, pool was dirty and green also the customer service was terrible. asked for a refund and was denied, called costumer service and was also denied! left with no refund but i refused to stay there!

One word to describe this place: garbageThe bed were comfortable sure, but the sheets and covers were filthy. The towels in the bathroom has lipstick and other red unknown residue on them. The bathroom and normal floors were covered in dirt and hair. The sink had hair too. There was a mark/stain on the wall as well. The TV had one channel. For $200 this place was a rip off, there lucky they were the only hotel in a 20 mile radius with a room available. Save your money and sleep in your car

This is not the cleanest place, if my wife was with me she would have left. As we arrived one person and her son demanded a refund and left it was dirty. The grounds are not clean either. Garbage all over and lawn hasnt been cut in a long time. There was no smoke detector in my room!!! Way way overpriced folks!

Where should I start? Way too expensive for a crackhouse type motel. Everything is old, dirty and stinky. Lamps and fire alarm are not connected, they are only decorations. Filthy beds, pretty sure the sheets were not cleaned. Spider webs hanging. Shower not working. Overall dirty like no maids ever go in there. Walls are paper thin but it could be entertaining to hear people argue in the room next door. Reservation was such a hassle. I was stuck there for the night otherwise I had to sleep in the car. Btw I love the fake good reviews, like it could be credible. Nice try.. my advice: AVOID! DON’T BOOK THERE!!

You pay for what you get. Very nice workers but dirty room and smelly pool. Hidden cost for the breakfeast. Only has generic sugar cereal and no fruit. The pool had diapers in it. No bedbugs fortunately (others seemed to have the same problem). None of the workers seemed enthusiastic or happy. Room was smelly and small. If your looking for a good motel stay away from this one.

We booked this hotel thinking,a Howard Johnson ( which is well known across Canadait would a great hotel. Boy was I wrong! The rooms were so old, stains on walls, carpets, bath tub was so gross. We took a walk to the pool room, we had to leave and enter another building to get to the pool. It was downstairs, as soon as we open the door the stink hits you in the face. It smelled like urine. My 8 year old wouldnt let go of the door. It was the worst place. We asked for a refund but they refused. We left anyway.

We stayed overnight. Arrived at midnight and left at 9am. The room was clean (although smelled like perfumeand fit us for our needs well. Loved the water pressure in the bathroom! Breakfast had everything expected: muffins, toast and cereal. A hot breakfast would be nice to add.

Booked the room over the phone. Arrived and was greeted by the receptionist who had everything ready. Paid for the 1 night stay, got my room key and went to my room. Everything in the room was tidy. There was a fridge, tv, dressing table, side table etc. Only problem I had was that there was no electrical outlet near the bed so I couldnt charge my phone and leave it on the side table. Not sure why they didnt put the bed near a wall outlet. Oh well. Decent place though. About 100$ with tax for 1 night with king size bed .

The staff was friendly and the motel is close to other locations which is great but that is it.The pool is 72 degrees which most people will find way to cold for use. Pool is 2ft deep down to 4 ft at deepend.Most rooms will require you to go outside to get to the pool building and same with ice you will need to head outside to get to the main lobby for ice. Not an issue in the summer but in the winter this is a burden.The room temperature thermostat in room did not make any changes to the room. Was too warm so had to open a window then close it after kids got to sleep. There was an account unit but that felt like a huge waste in the winter.Bathtub had rust stains across the bottom and tiles around the tub were cracked and poorly resealed. No vent to remove steam from bathroom either after showers. I mean there is one in the roof just no way to turn it on.If you are looking for a hotel in Moncton, with a pool I would not recommend this place for your family. If you are looking for an affordable place to sleep then this spot would be fine.

They gave me and my friends a dirty hotel room and didnt switch us to a clean one or come and clean the one we had. We waited 2 hours for someone to come with keys when they said they would be 15 minutes. Beds were comfy and we had TV and Wi-Fi.. the staff were friendly but the rooms should have been checked over before checking guests in.

Great place to stay. Room was clean. Price was good. Was staying here from the time I was a kid "15 years ago" until now for the first time in a long time. Many renovations have been done since I was here last. Also VERY comfy beds

Staff were pleasant when we arrived. We thought it was a little strange that our room was two buildings over but not a big problem. The room was showing its age with decor but very clean. The hot tub worked flawlessly. Bed was a little uncomfortable.

How can one rate this hotel when its not even good enough to rate! First the receptionist acted like we interrupted her nap! The parking...thats a joke! Rooms were small, stunk and dirty!!! Only outlet available to plug anything in was in the bathroom and that goes for the coffee pot as well! Needless to say never again!

Horrible place, all the good review are written by the owner themselves. Never trust this place, even if we reserved 2 months early they rejected our reservation because they couldnt make any money from us (we booked with online websites, which is cheaperthey said there was no rooms left even if there were clearly open rooms. All we needed was a night, not even a week! The people at the reception wouldnt let us stay even if we had the confirmation and everything by email, they feigned that they didnt receive any confirmation themselves. How can you send a confirmation without knowing it? Greedy, lowly people that wont let good people have a cheap night... Not recommended.

Completely revolting! Stains, hair and dirt in the sheets. The whole place smelled like cigarette smoke covered up with febreze. They would only refund us 1/2 the cost of the room.We turned around and went to another hotel. The front desk staff were terrible to deal with-very sketchy. Life is too short to stay in a place like this! GROSS!

The man at the front desk was a treat after 9 hours of driving. He was polite and willing to go the extra to help my family feel comfortable. The room was clean and the washroom was spotless. As for the area Im not sure, but it seemed fine. Great for an overnight stay.

It was a total dive!!! The dirtiest hotel weve even been faced with!! The toilet wasnt clean... the beds had pubic hair in them ... cigarette butts outside on the stairs getting up to our room... rotten floor boards and stair case getting up to our room... musty smell... and the sink wasnt in the bathroom.. it was across the hallway from the bathroom!!!We drove from Annapolis valley to spend a nice relaxing night away and drove back that night because we couldnt rest in such a dirty room!!!

Rooms were much cleaner than I expected; some of the exterior of the motel looked a bit run down, and had a bad feeling about the room but was pleasantly surprised. But at a very affordable room, the beds were clean, a small Continental breakfast was included and there was even a pool (although because its a walk-up, you had to access it outside). I come to Moncton once a year and can say that this place is definitely affordable and somewhere I would consider returning.

Overpriced. Three rooms management showed us stunk. Showed us BY request. Arrived late and only rooms over 140 were priced to us but there was hardly anyone there. The room we agreed to still smelled and thank God I didnt have an UV detector because I can only imagine what was there. Included a huge spider crawling out of the bathroom. Too bad I was too tired not to drive anymore, I would of been better off sleeping in the car. Probably cleaner. Also the breakfast was a laugh and the WiFi didnt work most of the time. The sheets we slept on top of had blood stains and rips in them. You are better off staying at the higher end hotels near there that, as we come to find out, were the same price.

would not go again. was very disappointed with this room. got in the room layed on the bed and immediately my girlfriend noticed a large semen stain on the pillow, called the front desk and they said they would send someone, while waiting we noticed more semen all over the side of the comforter. he offered to change them but by then we were disgusted and wanted to go somewhere else. the staff was apologetic and refunded our money however. not a bad looking place but thy should work on their cleanliness
