Taman Sampoerna No.6, Krembangan Utara, Kec. Pabean Cantian, Kota SBY, Jawa Timur 60163, Indonesia, Mojokerto
Museum, cafe & gift shop at the eponymous cigarette company's Dutch Colonial production facility.
Had a visit to House of Sampoerna in Feb 2020.No admission fee was charged. The tour guide introduced the history of Sampoerna in details, and sometimes the use of media in introduction was English, which was friendly to non-Indonesian speaking visitors.A tour in bus (also free of chargewas provided, please make sure you know the time to hop in the bus, if the passengers in the bus are full, you have to wait for the next bus.Souvenirs with Sampoerna logo are available, I bought a cute cotton handbag which figured a mommy lion plays with a baby lion.
For those wondering if the museum is really closed, it is definitely closed. We tried asking if we could go in for a photo but were turned away. I’m sure it’s an interesting museum so hopefully it reopens soon.
This museum is about the origin of cigarettes and its industry development in Indonesia (specifically this Sampoerna brand), the tour guide will accompany you to stroll around. Enough space for parking lot and clean prayer room.

A museum dedicated to a tobacco company in Indonesia. The kretek cigarette combines tobacco with cloves for a flavour that is uniquely Indonesian. They have various paintings, busts, and other items once owned by the founders of the company. They also showcase an old printing machine and its cigarette box prints.
Beautifully kept, with nice and informative display. The architecture of the place is wonderful. Would give 5 stars if only it did not depict a cigarette company.

One of the historical place in surabaya, it has museum, gift shop, and cafe. No entrance free, but you must 17+ or with adult as a guidance, you can see the history of cigarettes in indonesia from time to time. It was the sampoerna group owner house before being museum.
Indonesian people know that Sampoerna is the biggest cigarettes company. And its nice that we could know about Sampoerna history. We could get that information from the museum present from Sampoerna itself. Its very historical, clean and we can see how the workers bandaging cigarettes. They provide also 3 times daily bus tour around the city. The place is really green with plants and flowers all around the place. They have a gift shop as well, but not really much choice. At least I get my magnet 😍The cafe next museum "Tanamera" is also interesting with red as interior dominant color.Food is average but, presentation was colorful ❤️Very recommend 👍
A museum offering glimpses into the Sampoerna familys rise as a major tobacco company. I found it interesting that the production factory is sited together with the museum, and visitors can have a birds eyeview of the production process from a viewing gallery.
This was a very interesting place to stop and visit in Surabaya. They make hand rolled cigarettes from tobacco and cloves. The cloves are crushed and mixed with the tobacco. You can see how they do it. It really is more interesting than it sounds. They had safe parking and clean toilets too so its worth a 1hr visit if you are in the area.
This is amazing place, and free. Here you can learn how sampoernas founder life story. He was began from very bottom until reach sky like now.First impression of this place is from its smell. Inside main building you will smell tobacco every where. One thing need to remember, if you come from monday to saturday before 11 am, you may see sampoerna worker do ciggarate making by hand, impresive. They also have coffee shop inside, clean mushola. The restroom little bit creepy, yah we know that it was very old place. From information that Ive got, there are some of sampoernas family still live there, but I dont know where because I cannot find the living place. The second floor have some secret, and it is prohibitied to take a picture, you must respect that. The place still open until 6 pmIt such very great experience to have opportunity to visit here. Cant wait to back to surabaya sometime.
Very entertaining place to visit! Here we can learn about the history, see the old machines, and even seeing the workers working at the factory! Seeing the workers is my favorite part but sadly the visitors arent allowed to take pictures. Aside from the museum, we can see two Rolls Royce cars. There is cafe where we can chill while eating. Overall, I recommend you to visit this place. And by the way, you must be 18 years old or older to enter the museum. Otherwise you should be supervised by adults.
This museum used to be a part of Sampoerna’s old office/factory complex. One part of the building used to be a movie theatre. The exhibits are interesting and all related to Sampoerna family and business. If you come before 1 PM, you may see the actual production process inside a factory. It’s better to ask the attendant to give you a guided tour, because they can give a broader information on the museum. There is a cafe and museum store inside the complex. Recommended!
Good museum. And visitor can see women working mannual hand rolling cigarettes. Free of charge. Free city tour also available. Visitor must be older than 17yrs of age. Local guide also available.
Very good and well-preserved museum, worthy of historical maintenance, and a definitely must-visit place if you are short on time to do things in Surabaya. The highlight of the museum visit ought to be to watch the tobacco workers in action, and admire and be amazed at the pace at which they work through the successive stages of cigarette production. They also have daily bus tours in the morning, which are probably a good way to explore the city (I could not do that as they had got full, so you better book one in advance). Overall, a visit to the museum is really recommended.
This is a definite must on your visit to Surabaya. Nice museum and factory floor that shows how hand rolled cigarettes are made. They also have a nice cafe with some amazing cold brews. They offer free tours of other surabaya monuments - do take advantage of that
Nice place to visit. Here you will be given the actual history of the first cigarette company in Indonesia. At the end participants can go on a city tour to some other historical places after touring the museum.
One of the city heritage. A very well maintained and FREE museum of one of the biggest local cigarettes company in Indonesia. You can also learn a bit of history during the colonial era and how the founder started the company with a simple stall. It is quite small, and a little far away from the other tourist attractions in the city#Sampoerna #Surabaya #Landmark #Indonesia #Museum #ColonialEra #Historical #Cigarette #Tobacco

The legendary museum in Surabaya, the place is small but i think its the most comfortable museum in Indonesia. There are no ticket fees for the entrance, and we can ride the SHT bus for free, there are some art gallery and souvenirs shop too
This place is historical and well maintained as it is still stunning. The place is a new learning for me to know the process of making a smoke that kills thousand of people. The tour guide/staff from the house of sampoerna is really friendly and helpful!! He explained a lot and entertained us with all the joke and facts. Theres a lot of place for you to take picture here. The place was known to be a theater before this and become a factory after the owner bought it and until now. You can find nearby coffee store and also many place thats beautiful for to take picture or 🤳. Ps: Dont smoke dear its dangerous. Love your body and life!

The smell of tobacco fills the air as you walk in.From the second floor, you can see a glimpse of the factory where the tobacco ladies rolling cigarettes. No photos or video recording allowed on this floor though some visitors didnt really care about the rules.Theres an art gallery and souvenir shop at the back of the complex. This Sampoerna (tobacco companymuseum is cool. The paraphernalia is really interesting. Dont miss visiting the second floor to get a grand look of the (probably used to bemanufacturing operation site. The entrance fee is without charge. Should you find the door is closed, dont hesitate to open it yourself. There is gift shop available and Tanamera coffee shop next to the museum.
I love to see this place especially for the thematic exhibition in the Art Gallery. But, now, the room replaced by Cindera.Mata that exhibit things for gifts (it was in the second floor of the museum--main building). Sadly, the restaurant/cafe replaced by Tanamera coffee shop. And, the Art Gallery will be open soon in another building (right of the main building).
A historic place about Sampoerna cigarette, the place was very tidy inside the museum and outside. Theres also a coffee shop next to the museum. Inside the museum you can see history about cigarette and also the people make the cigarette. You dont need to pay when visiting here because its free.Probably not recommended for bring baby or child and people with lungs problem because the place smells very strong tobacco / cloves.
The museum and the gallery is so interesting.Anyway, you can also booked for having trip around some historical places with Surabaya Heritage red bus for free.It was so fun eventhough only short time.
When I visited this venue the cafes was closed for renovation and to be opened in May as their announcement. The museum was great if you are into some history of one of the richest family in Indonesia, as well as their tobacco industry paraphernalia since the beginning.
Free parking and free entrance !!!Very awesome museum to vist which tells you the history of sampoerna caompany as one of the biggest cigarette producer in indonesia. Not quite big actually but many things you can learn from it and you can witness the cigarettes process making which amused me so much, the workers all women. It is awesome how fast they rolled the dried tobacco and pack it like nothing can stop them.
Awesome places! You will get free city tour by House of Sampoerna. They will bring you around Surabaya to see old building and Surabaya in different angle. Actually you will see Surabaya in vintage atmosphere. It is all free, you just register first before you joint this program.
Very very recommended and educational. Every Surabaya visitor should go there! The museum is free. They also provide docents that will guide and tell you stories about this legendary cigarette company
This is a historical place. This old building is now being functioned as a museum. The location is far from the main road, you need to take pedicab from the main road. This museum belongs to Sampoerna Company. You can see the history of Sampoerna company as a successful cigarette brand in Indonesia. You can ask for a guide or walk on your own. There are clean restrooms here and a gift shop.
A grand place which you must visit in Surabaya if youre a tourist. It is a place of one of Indonesian cigarette history established by the Sampoerna family. They displayed many things related to cigarette from raw materials to packagings in many other countries they exported to.On the 2nd floor you can see how they did the production in the old days.To the right of the building you can see two old Rolls Royce imported from Singapore.Looking forward to more expansion of the museum itself.
This house of sampoerna is a must-visit when you’re in Surabaya! It really is a great small museum with so many antique things. From the 2nd floor, we could see the process of making a cigarette (but only open on working days). On the 2nd floor, there is a merchandise shop too.Too bad the restaurant is already closed :(

This colonial style building was built in 1862. Now it houses a museum for a cigarette company. Here visitors can learn about the history of sampoerna, a well known & much loved indonesian cigarette company. Visitors can also witness actual hand-rolled cigarette production, however visitors are not allowed to take photos of the production facility. The museum is very well maintained, entry is free & guides are provided. One thing I dont like about this place is the strong smell of cigarette cloves throughout the entire building.
Small but cozy, good, and clean museum about the tobacco company. There is a restaurant beside the museum in case you are hungry. The ticket is free.
A very well maintained and FREE museum of one of the biggest local cigarettes company in Indonesia. You can also learn a bit of history during the colonial era and how the founder started the company with a simple stall. There is a cafe nearby which also provides great food.
The first time I have a positive attitude to tabac, because the taste of tabac and cloves is very nice! And the museum itself is worth the visit just because of the furniture and relics. You become a insight of the rolling, cutting and packaging at work.
Beautiful place with loads of educational message about tobacco and cigarette industry history in Indonesia. Taking place in a colonial complex, try their unique foods and beverages in A Cafe.Anyway, its not recommended for children or pregnant women or ones who have sensitivity to tobacco due to its very strong smell and fume inside the museum. Or maybe try to be quick in viewing the museum inside. I was getting dizzy after an hour of tobacco fume exposure. Well it depends individually though.
From a small cart to a huge company. This place tells us many untold stories. Everything is inside, premium cigarette with genuine way to distribute. Classic interior design makes it perfect combination with the smell of cloves and tobaccos!
