Houdini's Escape Room Experience - Escape Room Southampton in Bournemouth

We have visited twice at both Southampton beaches and the rooms are exceptional!!! May in particular was a wonderful host at Hexmore - don’t be out off by the 1/5 difficulty, hexmore is hilarious, fun and totally wacky with the rooms you must try it and actually quite tricky in parts! We have been to titanic escape room as well and they are both incredible - Houdini’s rooms are way above all others - I haven’t seen any better designs, layouts or unique features such as these - they are a class act! We have already booked our 3rd room with them and cannot wait! Thanks for having us

A good experience with friendly staff. We did the Titanic escape room. It could do with some ventilation, or at the very least some air freshener as it all smells a bit funky. Some fly spray would be good too.

Pure Escapism. Tested each group member and all had a part to play.Some problems solved fairly quickly, others were more taxing.We made it to the last lifeboat on the Titanic with 8 seconds to spare.A lot of fun, enjoyed by all.

The whole experience is amazing and I would recommend to anyone the puzzles are challenging and the support incredible and they handle everything with amazing customer support will definitely be going again

We escaped Alcatraz! Had a great time here with my Partner for his birthday. Really enjoyed the room. Our first escape room experience, and our host, the beautiful India, made it one we’ll remember. Very fun and attentive, you did an amazing job and we were glad to have been one of your first inmates. Thank you 😊

Great experience at this escape room, it was my first time at an escape room and makes me want to go again! Erin was very helpful and made us all comfortable. Would 100% recommend was great fun and a good level of difficulty.

First time doing an escape room, didnt really know what to expect but our games master Elton was fantastic, funny, helpful and made the experience what it was. Will look forward to doing another. The game was challenging yet fun and most importantly we escaped.

8 of us teamed us for a fantastic escape room experience yesterday evening. ELLA our escape room host was brilliant, she really got us into the roles for the event. Her tongue-in-cheek briefing and final assessment of Team Clunge has us in stitches. I would definitely recommend Houdinis as a must do time out.

Would highly recommend going and experiencing this at least once in your life time. Our host Ella was brilliant, interactive and kept the mystery alive.Absolutely brilliant experience.

Came as a group of 4 for Hexmore and we had Ella, who was absolutely amazing! So lovely and enthusiastic and made the experience so much more enjoyable. We came back for Poppa Plocks (and Ellaand it was definitely more difficult, but lots of creepy fun. Thank you Ella, well be back! :)

This was the first time I had done an escape room and it was amazing! Staff was so friendly and so helpful and we got out with 7 mins to spare! Will 100% be back to try out another one soon!

We bad a great time doing the Alcatraz room! Adam was a great host who gave us loads of hints when we needed them which really helped as this was our first escape room!! Thankyou for making our first experience a good one- will definitely be returning :)

Me and my girlfriend did the Alcatraz room and it was amazing, the attention to detail was brilliant. We had Adam guiding us and he couldn’t have been better Adam alone would be a reason to go back but ontop of the escape room we’ll definitely be returning!!

I should preface this by saying we’ve already done the Extinct and the Titanic escape rooms with Houdinis and LOVED them both. I’ve done a fair few rooms over the country and extinct was the best one I’ve ever done. With that in mind we booked the Alcatraz one, and unfortunately were so disappointed. Apart from the fact that the puzzles were pretty much all number related, and therefore did become a bit samey, it was just far far far too hot in there. To the point that we couldn’t wait to get out. I don’t see that you can have rooms underground like that in the summer and not have some form of air on or at least a few decent fans going. It unfortunately just ruins the experience. Also I would say you could really tell a difference between the quality of the extinct and Alcatraz rooms- it was night and day difference. I would recommend titanic/extinct- in a heartbeat! But personally I wouldn’t do Alcatraz

We did the alcatraz themed room as a group of 4 and had a brilliant time. We escaped with a few seconds to spare and after 4 hints 🤭.Adam was the host that night and took great care of us, setting the scene and causing a few screams 😆The only criticism of the game was that one prop in particular was very worn so it was very difficult to get the letters from it, especially given that the room is pretty darkly lit in the location that you have to put the prop to make it work. (Torches provided but still too hard to read).The venue was hot so keep that in mind with clothing.Parking was incredibly difficult so do leave plenty of time to find a space- lots of hospital parking or residents only.Will absolutely book another of the rooms with them in the future!

We did the Alcatraz room and whilst I really enjoyed it my girlfriend didnt. No mention of jump scares (or so Im toldand ended up on edge the whole game. Some very clever puzzles that we hadnt seen before and we managed to escape (barely). Would definitely recommend this room to people who are okay with a more eerie atmosphere and scares.

Absolutely love Houdinis, to this day the best chain of escape rooms Ive been too. Would highly recommand!

Thoroughly enjoyable. Hosted by Nate, this time round we were in the Alcatraz room as a birthday treat for one of our party. The clues were definitely more involved than the Titanic experience wed done before. With only an hour this time rather than 90 minutes, the pressure was on, but we made the escape with just over three and a half minutes remaining. Would recommend for anyone looking to do something that little bit different and put your brain juices flowing. 5 stars.

Fabulous evening escaping ftom Alcatraz.Really clever and frustrating escape room.You slap your head sometime once you realise the answer! Thank you for a great adults school-night evening out!

Would 100% recommend this for all families with adults, we was welcomed in straight away be a lovely lady named Erin. She talked us through the whole way from the instructions/ brief and giving us clues when needed. We managed to escape with 1 second remaining and was also given bracelets and a discount on our next booking. Our family did the Alcatraz room and we will definitely be back for a different room next birthday treat. Thank you to Erin for making this a great experience for my brothers 23rd birthday gift.

First time doing an escape room and Houdinis did not dissapoint. It was excellent fun and definitely recommend the Titanic escape room. Really friendly staff.

Been twice great staff! First time we went to do the Extinct one. Amazing experience! Second time we done the Poppa Plocks and the character Wynn (JADEwas brilliant! She made the immersive experience even better! Worth every penny! Can’t wait to do the another one!

We had a fantastic time at Houdini’s and escaped from Alcatraz with only seconds to spare.We have done a few escape rooms before and I would say that Freddie is the best games master of all I have seen! He is definitely a great performer which really adds to the immersive experience.

Had a great experience doing the Alcatraz Escape Room for step daughters birthday. Completed it with only 47 seconds left on the clock. Would really recommend this as an activity for the family or work colleagues. It is challenging, but suitable for all ages.

Highly recommended!! The staff were fun and enthusiastic (Jade was our designated staff memberand she explained everything very clearly before we started. The escape room was really fun and the puzzles were challenging but accessible. We got a free team photo at the end as well. I will definitely book another one soon!

I went with a bunch of friends and we did the Titanic room, I was really impressed with how much effort went into constructing the room.The host was friendly and very entertaining too!

Excellent fun. Escape The Titanic was perfect for our 12 year olds first escape experience.Emily was a brilliant games master.

I did the Titanic escape room with my mum and sisters. We had an amazing time. There are lots of mini games/puzzles to solve and different areas to explore. We were a team of four and everyone was able to feel included and help solve the different tasks. If you get stuck you can ask for hints. The hints are great because they are subtle and help you to solve it on your own without directly giving you the answer. We couldnt stop talking about the escape room for the rest of the day. Its a truly immersive experience. I had never done one before but now I want to go back and do all of them!

What a great experience. The tone is set as soon as you walk into reception. Decor creates a really nice atmosphere. Jordan was a great host. We did the RMS Titanic Room and it was a blast. Definitely worth a visit

Wow. This place really is magical. I took our two kids (9 and 8in the school holidays and we absolutely LOVED it! They were a touch nervous (because we’ve managed to raise them to be scared of anything and everything new. Sighbut the wonderful Alicia put them at ease straight away and from the moment we stepped into the Potions Classroom they were hooked. There were regular and genuine squeals of delight when clues were solved (virtually always by the kids as I was a right doughnut and often had to ask Alicia for help!)This escape room (which is actually 4 or 5 rooms - a terrific surprise to uslooks fantastic and the puzzles are brilliantly clever and varied. Highly, highly recommended.

Went as a couple. Greeted by Freddie who took us through the things we needed to know. He was thorough and polite while being extremely friendly.The puzzles were detailed and varied.Some were easy to work out.Others had us stumped.Freddie was nearby and was happy to give hints and clues.Didnt finish the escape in time. But had great fun trying.Looking forward to going back to Houdinis to try another room.

Thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. Cannot put any detail as hopefully you will go and experience it yourselves. Host was fantastic and the rooms well thought out.

Did the Dino escape room for my mates birthday, was so fun, and was fairly challenging.Please give Matt a pay rise, he was brilliant. And put up with us being silly geese very well.

we went there on the 20th March as a Birthday present for me from my wife and 2 daughters..[R.M.S Titanic]finished in 1hr 6mins...great time but still waiting for the Photograph that was taken after. Absolutely fantastic! Have now completed all of Houdinis escape rooms. Will definitely book onto any new rooms they may do in the future. Staff are all welcoming and very friendly.

Me and my family had our first ever escape room experience at Houdini’s escape room. We returned to complete another because we enjoyed it so much! The staff are incredibly talented and they bring the story and characters involved into life. The escape rooms are very well thought out and are extremely interesting. We had such a great time!

Fantastic Escape Room. We chose the Titanic escape room and had a wonderful time, the theme and props were great and the puzzles were fun. Our host Jordan was very friendly and welcoming and made sure we had a brilliant time.

We had such an awesome time doing the Extinction escape room! Matt our games master was brilliant. So enthusiastic and really immersed us in the experience. We had so much fun but were also quite scared at points! We still can’t believe we escaped (just)!

We had a great time at the Escape room earlier this week. We did the "Escape from Alcatraz" room. We found it incredibly enjoyable! Ran by a fantastic team who are very passionate with what they do! Will be back whenever we are in the area again!

We had a brilliant experience doing the Extinct room today. Charlie was our ‘helicopter pilot’ and guide and she was so lovely and enthusiastic. Will definitely be back! Thank you for a great time! 😊

we did at room at both of their locations, and although Titanic was a great room, extinct just beat it.Both rooms are well thought out with some unique puzzles and we certainly needed every member of our group to get through extinct. Staff members were welcoming at both locations, and "jurassic john" was a fun guy.Well worth a visit

Did the escape from alcatraz. Bit heavy and over egged on the safety talks, though free popcorn helped. Set design was good. Be sure to look at all fixtures and furnishings carefully as unlike other escape rooms there are key elements that do not have pointer clues to them, which is a bit of a design flaw. Hints are done in person by the presenter, which I thought was a bit intrusive. The set was good with unique puzzles though, so please do not take my minor critiques too seriously.

I wasnt too sure about this. I read the reviews and yes they are excellent but I was still very weary!This place did not disappoint. Without giving too much away, it really did exceed my expectations and we had a great day.We escaped with 49 seconds to spare. Granted we had 5 hints but it was still an excellent experience. Amazing experience.We managed to escesc from Alcatraz !The staff was very friendly and made the experience more fun. They offer unlimited clues, this is good if you feel you need a Little nudge in the right direction.Amazing hen do idea. Would 100% recommend and we will be returning for the Titanic experience!

Everything about the experience was incredible! The staff were very welcoming, friendly, and hospitable, providing complimentary beverages for our briefing, and even popcorn during the instructional video. The ambience of Houdini was fantastic, as soon as you enter the building, you are transported into a 1940s noir setting, with every single room having great attention to detail in setting the scene.For both my partner and I, this was our first escape room experience, and we did it just the two of us. It was incredibly challenging, but the Game Master was always on hand in moments of need, with effective hints, that did not detract and take away from the experience. We would have not made it out alive without them, we managed to escape with just 7 seconds to spare, it was a very intense!I highly recommend this experience, especially as part of a group of 4+ people, it is great for team building. I cannot wait for their upcoming Titanic experience. 5*s.
