Hotel luz in Benemerita de San Cristobal

It could have been better, but a guy (I assumed was the security from the hotelknocked my door room at 5-6am asking about a car which wasnt mine but someones esle. So couldnt sleep afterwards.

It was an interesting experience because the rooms have windows that look into the hallway. They have curtains but people can still kind of see into your room. The beds are stiff and the pillows are flat (which I love but everyone in my family hated). The location was great though because it was right by the beach and the price was unbeatable, considering the fact there is really great AC and complimentary wifi. Parking is very minimal, but it wasnt a problem.

El hotel y el trato es aceptable, no obstante las habitaciones que me tocaron en una (210hay una bomba del lado de afuera que se prende y apaga durante toda la noche.No pude dormir.La noche siguiente dormí en otra donde no había agua caliente.La experiencia con quiénes atienden fue muy buena, cordialidad y respeto, pese que al que me dió la 210 ya sabía que en esa habitación es imposible dormir.Creo que para ese tipo de habitaciones, 40 dólares es un precio excesivo.

The place looks okay but couldnt see it because I booked a room but when I got there the man that help me said that they didnt have no more rooms available, the man was very nice to me, but what I didnt like is that the room that I book wasnt available...I think is not ethical to do this kind of things...hopefully they will fix that kind of method.....

Bendiciones ante todo quiero comentar mi experiencia en el hotel santander, estoy ahora en la habitacion y no pude esperar para dar mi n, no puede haber tanto odio dentro de alguiencomo para publicar lo que he leido yo llegue aca con miedo hasta sabana de mi casa traje pero como soy ver parar ceer aca estoy, señores dejen de deprestigiar a la gente y los negocios en crecimiento eso es malo desde la cocina me ayudo hasta el seguridad gracias por lo mucho que hicieron y no le le aca caso venga para el hotel santander que esta comodo y lo que no hay se lo inventan apara ti

Don’t bother trying to set something online with them, they won’t respect it. Either call or show up. We arrived at 2am to find out our “ reservations” were not respected & they had no availability after we knocked for about 10 minutes, so we were turned away. They are the most affordable though, so when we were finally able to get a room ( maybe 3 days after arrivaltheir cc machine wasn’t working & they needed cash. In the 2 weeks we were there they never “fixed” the machine. Our thoughts is that they don’t accept credit cards no matter what it says anywhere, they just claim they do to lure customers in.So if you’re planning on putting your hotel expenses on credit, this would not be an option, you would have to have cash (they accept USD). No housekeeping for your stay. Ppl just leave trash outside door. No amenities besides 2 large towels & some sort of soap gel that was extremely old, watery & for some reason smelled like fish (so BYOeverything). It also had a sewage-like faint smell, & just an overall claustrophobic feeling. The type of hotel you only come to sleep, so definitely consider if you have a longer stay AND are planning on leaving room at day break & coming back to shower & sleep only. There was also this displaced person outside who would scream & yell and he came up to us a few times as we were waiting on our UBER, which was scary and staff did not seem to be preoccupied with getting him removed. Guess he was just part of the experience. 2 stars for affordability, otherwise it would be 0 stars.

Wifi connection was poor in the room we had to go to lobby area to use wifi! Beds were uncomfortable, Breakfast was extra and there was no menu everyday ONE egg and toasted bread was served they have coffee but when I asked for creamer or milk for coffee I was told it was an extra fee 😑 oh and upon booking I saw pool but this hotel had NO POOL!!

I give those 2 stars for that old place,don t let picture fool you guys.The haitian guy at the front desk help me a lot cause he speaks english,5 stars for him .

My worst experience there were thieves waiting for new victims outside the hotel,I was robbed by two men "Dont Even Think about staying here!!!"

Excelente services. Because of the mandatory curfew I had to be in door before 9. I got there exactly at 9 and they acomodated me right away. This at an exelent price. They could had hicked the prices as is custom in DR and they did not. They also help me get food which is almost impossible after curfew. I spend a confortable save night at this hostel.

Its just ok, its totally different from what you see in the picture. I went there last December 2019 and it was dripping water everytime its raining

This place is fairly easy to find even at 1 a.m. in the morning. Check-in was fairly easy as well and my room was spacious with two beds. However the floor was not quite as clean as it could have been and there were a few suspicious stains on the chair, and a couple of broken tiles in the shower, which could have been fixed easily. I did not expect luxury for around $30 a day including breakfast, hence the hotel is a good value for the money. Theres a restaurant attached to the hotel which provides a decent breakfast in the morning. Conveniently located for a quick stay particularly if you have business with any of the government offices nearby. Front desk staff are friendly and helpful.

Don’t allow the outside of this place fool you. The images posted and even when you get there you may think good place to spend some vacation nights. Unfortunately the rooms are very worn out. The bathroom wall even seemed to have some mold. The furniture they provide is very old and you can literally hear the bed falling apart. Something else that had me somewhat frustrated was that they we working on some construction and you would hear them hammering as early as 8am. It was really upsetting because you would think that because it’s so close to the Malecón they would try to make their guests feel comfortable. What’s the point of having such pleasant people in the front if when you go to the room everything looks old, and you have to literally sleep with the light on because you feel that something is crawling on you while in bed.

Didnt stay but from the looks it seemed like a nice place to stay.

Clean and good stuff

That hotel is small and very comfortable, the staff is wonderful and very friendly.The security guard is taking care about everything, and besides is willing to do everything you desire , he is a very good person, he is a love.

I ate at their restaurant, the outside sign advertised buffet, but it was misleading, because it was cooked food that you select, but it is not all you can eat. The food was mediocre at best. Rice and beans for cold, and the coffee tasted like instant coffee, not espresso.

Room was spacious clean very accommodating. Price was good for service received. Have stayed a few times before but this time was very different and pleasant. Also the restaurant/ bar has good food for a great price!!! Will be staying again!!!

I found myself confortable in this place.Good staff, clean room, with breakfast in the morning and terrace at 2nd floor.

Room was ok; nothing special. But clean. Bed was comfy. Good TV and AC. For a quick trip, it served its purpose. We paid for breakfast. They told us breakfast was at 7am. We get downstairs and then they tell us its at 7:30. By 7:35 they tell us that the cook must be stuck in traffic. Instead of a refund (which I know is like asking for a miracle), they tell us if we could come back before 12, we could have lunch. We were in the city just for the day and had a super busy day.

Everything was great. But mamagement was off and unhelpful. Touch my belongings with out promition.Can someone tell there experience please?

Business trip, 1 person.Booked for 8 nights.Crapy cheap room.Noise and partying all night.TV not working.Sheets only changed after calling attention.Fresh sheets dirty.Left earlier, they did not refund.Very disapointing.

Worst place I ever visited

This is a very friendly hotel. The people are very friendly. The guard especially goes out of his way to to ensure you feel safe. My only issue was when I arrived my room was not ready and when lt eventually became ready it was not properly cleaned I brought my concern to the front desk and was given another room with no problem. Restaurant food is ok but couldnt get use to it. After time I had to venture out. Wi-Fi was poor and tv in room did not work at all. My recommendation, depends on your taste and like. My stay was for 9 days but checked out before.Connecticut-USA

Basic hotel. Hot water, AC, and wifi worked well. What sets them apart is very friendly and helpful staff.
