Used conference facility, staff were great.
Beautifully decorated facilities, wonderful staff and great food.
Too expensive, reception area is beautiful but the rooms are old and need revamp for a 4 star hotel.
Best hotel I’ve ever stayed at
I went to the hotel for a few drinks with 3 friends. When I went to pay, our bill was around $45 but the waitress entered it into the card reader as $550. I asked for a refund but they said the card reader couldn’t do a refund (untruedespite being form a large national bank. The manager came and claimed they didn’t have cash to repay me (also likely untrue given the size of the barbut could transfer it to my bank account in the morning. I gave them my bank account number and still nothing. Be careful. The waitress and manager clearly work together to steal patrons money.
I am truly sorry for what happened in this beautiful country in 1994.
Excelent personnel. Very charismatic and polite.
Very nice hotel in Kigali. I strongly recommend that place if you are staying in Kigali.
The customer service was average but the rooms were clean and efficient. They did not have a fan for my first night but corrected the mistake. Overall, the experience was average but the dinner food was great.
It was absolutely mind-blowing from check-in to check-out, the staff were super amazing, friendly and always willing to help. The rooms were very clean and well maintained, the views are indescribable and the food was yummy. The front office staff were excellent especially Kenny... I fully recommend any day. Keep it up guys!
Very friendly staff at the restaurant. Ange was very professional in attending to guests
Had gone out in the legacy club. Great place and service
Lovely very well kept hotel. I came with a large group for dinner. The staff was professional and attentive. On Fridays, they have traditional Rwandan dancers. It was great.
An old hotel that could certainly benefit with upgrading their rooms and improving wifi service
I went here for the historical relevance of the hotel but also for the view from the Panorama Restaurant and the cultural music and dance offered on a Friday night. Well worth it.
Not as new, polished or big as it’s direct competitor (the Marriot), but I really like this hotel. Great staff, as all over Rwanda, and a really charming old school setting. It’s smaller and more personable. The rooms need updating, but they’re not bad all. Those overlooking the pool also have great views of Kigali and the surrounding countryside.Nice breakfast, but the coffee needs work…
Very beautiful Hotel located in Kigali 👌💯
Nice view while seated at the pool side enjoying the local dance. It was superb
Very interesting history - views are nice, especially at night. We enjoyed the pool, as well as the nice service of staff. It is however a bit outdated - but the value for money is alright. Even though our flight was in the evening, we were allowed to still use the pool the whole day.Food options are a bit limited, and service is very slow, especially at the pool bar.
A very comfortable very historic hotel. Beautifully decorated with exquisite landscaping. It’s right in the center of Kigali. Comfortable walking distance to many things. The rooms are comfortable, the beds are comfortable. The pool area is very nice, the food in the restaurant was delicious, the breakfast buffet was amazing. Fresh omelettes to order, and any wonderful tropical fresh fruit you could ever hope for. I absolutely hope to return.
Busy hotel. Good restaurants and service. Live music. Nice garden and swimming pool. But the rooms are small and outdated. Excellent breakfast.
So calssy and friendly staff... Quite atmosphere and nice entertainment programs for guests.
Wow! Its so Serene. Loved my stay!
In the restaurant on the top of the hotel we were the only clients who came to dinner. The restaurant was empty except for one table. Next day my spouse had gastrointestinal infection and spent the whole night vomiting. In former years it was a pleasure to have a meal over there with music of the piano playing. Too sad for everyone including the managers.
Wonderful hotel with a nice garden and amazing staff working there. With a history and a view!
Sitting by the pool at the bar is one of my "Happy Places" in Kigali! Love this hotel!
I was here for sightseeing and of course due to its legendary status I had to see it. It is beautiful! Possibly my next stay for the next visit
Very nice hotel in East Africa , professional staff and excellent service nice swimming pool and good environment
I really enjoyed my 3 weeks stay at Mille Collines. The hotel provided a crib for my baby and also took care of her laundry. The hotel staff are very nice and helpful. However I quickly got tired of the breakfast buffet as it was almost the same menu that was repeated all through my stay.I must also mention that my room had a breathtaking view of the city which was lovely. I would certainly recommend you to spend a night or two here
My experience about Milles Collines Hotel is that it has never deceived me, the quick service, the swimming pool, the food and most of all I love the live band every Wednesday.
The facility is old, but the atmosphere and location are really good. We stayed in the junior suite with panorama view and it was a great choice. Great city view of Kigali, quiet swimming pool, spacious rooms and fast internet, and a garden with birds chirping in the center of the city. Its perfect. We realized how satisfied the accommodation was just by not having a construction site around us. And it may not be easy to avoid construction sites in the growing city of Kigali. So we chose a hotel where old and new buildings can no longer be built next to it. Sometimes red rust comes out when the tap water is first turned on, but it disappears when it is turned on a little.
Hotel has lots of character, so you have good comfort without feeling like in a sterile newly built tower. But, organization there, especially at the bar (which is clearly the place where life happens at the hotel, between reception - pool - breakfasting - gardenis really sub-par. Food and drinks can be extremely slow to arrive, even though it is staffed with lots of people. No consistency: ordering an espresso can bring you anything from a coffee to an actual espresso. And food can be dry, or a bit cheap on sauce. The place remains extremely well located, with views on the town, and a great rooftop restaurant too.
A decent hotel to say the least. Dont expect your bags to be carried to your room or vice versa if you happen to be local. Rooms are a bit aged but clean so my stay was not all bad. Not the friendliest or most hospitable staff. Food was good though. Would recommend if you are a foreigner from the west otherwise if local save your money.
Nice hotel. Good and friendly service. Great views. Nice pool. Music from the bar can be a bit loud at times.
Combination of hotels.com + Mille Collines is not just working. Supposed to get a discount coupon of 22$ for services and free upgrade, but really not the case. The rooms are ok, but very outdated. Very good location though in city center of Kigali
We booked a table at the rooftop restaurant for our last night in Kigali, thinking it would be the good end to out trip! We travelled across the city just to be told the restaurant was not opened on Sunday. The city was having a curfew and there was no other restaurant opened after 8pm! The hotel didn’t even compensate for our bad experience it was super disappointing for our last evening in this country!!
Historical hotel worth staying for the history itself. There are more modern and fancier options down the road in the area, but why stay in a bland international chain when you can experience history? Not that the rooms are bad anyways - the rooms and service are top notch. You wont be disappointed here, its worth a stay if youre ever in Kigali.
Very nice establishment. The loud gunshots outside made it a bit hard to sleep at times however. A bit crowded, there were many guests. A worker named Dube made me feel at home and very comfortable. Good place. Do not take the river road very congested, be warned!
Had brunch at the main restaurant, the food that was prepared was great though the options for drinks were not sufficient in my opinion. Most people like either Mango, Orange or Apple Juice, none of these were available. The staff on duty were amazing and were ready to offer assistance whenever they were needed. Overall a good experience.
Two things I liked about this place. First the natural environment - blossoming flora, landscape... On point.Second is the food is fantastic. I could go on work mode all day with breakfast alone 😋And its Hotel Rwanda, right? So that makes it three 😊That said... the room had this "ancient" feel to it. No... more like archaic. The bathroom especially was dinghy. Urgent upgrade to modern facilities is needed.
I probably would rate this hotel 4 stars if I was the type to stay in my room. The room is very clean and the housekeeping staff are wonderful but the rooms are dated and could use additional electrical outlets. However, I’m rating it 5 Stars for the service and outdoor areas. Breakfast is served buffet style with outdoor seating and there’s the the very large outdoor bar. They handle groups gracefully and they are within walking distance of restaurants and the market.
Hotel is a little bit outdated but it is ok. Service is good. Breakfast needs some upgrade in terms of the variety of options they offer. Lunch and dinner are good in terms of quality, portions and size. Service is really good, most of the waiters are extremely friendly. Show on fridays night is really good and very entertaining. Highly recommended.
Very nice and calm place to stay in Kigali with an eventful history. Friendly and supportive staff, quiet outside sitting area with restaurant, bar and pool. All was very clean and well maintained. Room was serviced in a good manner and consumptions got refilled every day. In walking distance are many little shops and places to scout around.
Lovely hotel. A bit dated as others mentioned, but I think it adds to the charm of the place. The personnel is very friendly, the breakfast in the garden is peaceful and the atmosphere around the pool in the afternoon is very family oriented.
Its an excellent place, especially for weekends. Their Sunday brunch is great, and you can spend time swimming or relaxing by the pool before or after brunch. Its a good way to spend time with family and/or friends. Not too crowded. Great food. Music isnt too loud.
The hotel rooms and facilities are old fashioned and dated. Does not have an in house gym but a rather nice pool. Still this place has a charm and staff are always competent polite and helpful. Its hard to recommend but I honestly do. Food is nice -try the Rwanda hot sauce!
A real shame but this place desperately needs a makeover and a bit of an upgrade. The rooms are small and their decor is getting dated. There are also annoying issues with the key cards and TVs.The pool, bar and outside is quite nice. Probably it’s best feature. The bar also has draft Mutzig. The food in the panorama restaurant is okay but their wines are absolutely fantastic. The breakfast buffet is a bit underwealming considering the photos in its advertisement.
If you are looking for the real Hotel Rwanda, this is the spot. One thing that you absolutely cant miss is there Sunday brunch which includes certain bottomless drinks and live entertainment. its a great place to stay but also a great place to go for a meal if you are staying elsewhere but want to try a different location for lunch or dinner. The staff are incredibly nice, the atmosphere is fantastic, and theyre all you can eat Sunday brunch is incredibly well priced.
I will never forget the nice treat I had at this hotel in 2011. The reception was superb. Staff here are very friendly but professionals who respect. the meals were very good. Nice place for family vacation. Beautiful and very clean environment around the hotel. I would like to lodge there again in my next visit to Kigali.
Stayed for one night. The staff were very friendly and helpful at all times. The room was neat and clean, however we were two staying in the room and there was only one bathrobe and one set of slippers. The en-suite had a bath/shower, however I am not keen on shower curtains and this bathroom had one - yuk! The bath did have non slip grips. It would be nice to have a proper shower, with a proper shower head that doesnt move because of water pressure. The water overflows into the bedroom from the bathroom. For the amount you pay all of the above should be resolved and fixed. Breakfast however was excellent, the best Ive had since being in Rwanda.
