Hotel Universal in Granada
Description
We went to Granada for a conference and stayed in this hotel for a week. I was in a small room (9 square metersand it was really small. But for sleeping it was good. The hotel is located near the city center in a busy street. The bathroom was nice, it had a bidet and it was almost bigger than the room itself. The wifi was free, fast and stable. The staff was nice and friendly, they could speak a little English.Unfortunately there was some mold in the bathroom and one of the soap dispensers was broken. There were no view from the room, only to an ugly and small inner "courtyard". The rooms wall were extremely thin so I could hear anything from the neighboring rooms. One of my colleagues was in a room that faced the street and she barley could sleep from the noise. Also, sometimes there was noise and commotion at the corridor at night and in the early morning.
MoreFab location.Parking.All 3star good.
Great location, decent price and good accomodation.
Dirty hotel… I couldn’t sleep because of the smell of smoke. Please avoid this place.
MoreThe rooms were very clean with nice bathrooms. Rooftop cafe was great for a quick coffee or snack with great views. Vegetarian friendly too!
MorePerfect for a few days in Granada. From here you can walk within minutes trhough de hole centre and all the sightseeings.
MoreThere is underground parking opposite the hotel, once you realise that you are allowed to drive your car to the actual hotel! The rooms are fine with comfortable beds, but the noise isolation could be better (you can hear next door visiting the bathroom). There are no drink facitiea in the rooms 😞. Very friendly and helpful staff. Great location for walking round the city. Would stay there again.
MoreBasic. But good place just to sleep when travelling around .Would have been great to have at least tea and coffee facility in room....or even bottles of water.Cafe on 6th floor very basic, although staff very helpful and pleasant.Vending machine no instructions on use so just keep adding money until it gives you what you want !
MoreExcellent location !Comfortable bed, clean room and bathroom !Too much noise at night (awful noise isolation)
MoreStaff were very nice, hotel was very basic in as much as it didnt even provide tea//coffee making facilities, which is very important to us. The bathroom was more than a little cramped and the bath was very slippery when in the bath/shower. Very limited breakfast menus which consisted of either tostadas, sandwiches or croissants. Wont be recommending or going back. Only thing in its favour was the price.
MorePros: good location and price lower than averageCons: a lot (see details below):- The night shift person was not wearing the face mask properly (only covering his mouth), showing very low health & safety standards in a country where covid-19 cases are enormous.- Prior to book, we had called to ask if there was a double bed available, expecting a standard 150/180 cm one. The answer was "Yes" and upon arriving there 15 minutes later we stumbled across 2 single beds together and being told that there was nothing else available. Hence, pathetic customer service from the same night shift person.- Room has only one energy socket close to bed, and is located in the middle. Its non-sense- Acoustic isolation is poor. I could easily hear someone else in the hotel snoring.- The window is weird. You can open the blinds but you cant close them. If you can, then is not self intuitive at all.- No breakfast option, albeit there is a standard cafeteria in 6th floor.
MoreManagement are so not understanding. I did maka a non refundable booking, but due to COVID19, I am obviously unable to fly out, all my flights are cancelled by the company as well. It is hard for everybody. And at this stage has no plan to go to Europe anymore from Australia. They offered 6 months of date change, but who would know if travelling would be back on within those 6 months?? Unfair!!
MoreAffordable. Clean room, very central in the old part of town. Very friendly reception, very helpful. Great location, five minute walk to the old part of town. Rooms a bit noisy. Cafetaria on top of the building with view on the Sierra Nevada, very handy for morning coffee.
MoreGreat reception desk staff. Very welcoming and genuinely caring. Good location ! Within walking distance of many key sites. Book your Alhambra tour early. And dont miss the hotels top floor cafe and open air lounge.
MoreClean modern hotel, well situated in Granada. Rooms were decent sized and comfortable
MoreThe hotel is well located, clean and not really expensive (±110 for 2 nights)Parking nearby (just in front of the hoteland 15€/day of parking. The welcome staff is lovely and helpful. The rooms are noisy because we were close from the elevator, but otherwise everything was OK.R.
MoreNicely furnished, clean, solid room in a good location near to the places we wished to visit. Weird plumbing, there is a sign not to flush toilets paper which I suppose is due to old pipes. Otherwise it was great. They help our luggage for us after checking out somwe could visit the Alhambra
Moreaccept for the bar in the 6 floor the room was terrible we found bugs in bed, the Bath towel was torn and looked like a floor rug the internert was not working. in short dont arrive!!
MoreStaff is great, the place is great, 10 mins walk to all the sites, 5 mins to the Alhambra bus, Rest-t on the roof. Clean, and comfy.
MoreExcellent hotel, centrally located. Good prices, excellent services, shared parking, terrace restaurant with great views of the Alhambra.
