Hotel Sveinbjarnargerdi in Akureyri

Cosy little Hotel. The Buffet was super delicious!!! Little Hottub with a Nature pool. And a perfect dark spot for Northern Lights!

Not by far what we expected. Room was in a repurposed barn, it was small, the bath was even smaller, not very tidy and it had flyes everywhere. Dinner buffet is a Ripp-Off. Spending the same amount in a normal restaurant gets you a delicious meal that you can enjoy. The Dinner and Breakfast room is simply dark, cold and not very welcoming.

Basic hotel with only the essentials… you have to ask for hair dryer and glasses if you want any. Only towels were provided in the room.

Of all the hotels we stayed in during our tour, this was the worst. The water in the shower was really smelly and the room full of flies. The bed wasn’t comfortable either. Thankfully we were only there one night.The buffet was ok though which is why I’ve given it 3*

We stayed there for 2 nights during a journey around Iceland.The owner and the staff were great and absolutely friendly.Never seen like this before.We had the Hotel one night for us, because we were the only guests.The trust of the owner was amazing.The hot tub‘s (2on the hotel were really excited.The hot tub above was really hot, much hotter than the lower.The breakfast there is perfect, fresh and hot food.Everything is clean and you get all you want for breakfast.The rooms are clean and nice too.We had 7 hotel’s during the journey and this hotel was the greatest.If I visits Iceland again I will only stay there !Around the location you can visit much interesting views and the nearly town was great too.Unfortunately I could only spent 5 stars.We appreciated the time there.Perfect example for Icelandic country side.

The beds were very comfortable & rooms were clean. The breakfast was very filling. The view was fantastic, got to see the north light, SpectacularPlenty of parking for whatever you are driving. Highly recommend

Above and beyond customer service, nice bar and very nice breakfast, the rooms were just what we needed and the view from the hot tub is amazing. All in all I would say the price is more than fair for what you get I will go back to this hotel

They just cancelled our reservation 4 days prior arrival, allegedly because they are closed (on a weekendwhat kind of place is this? Avoid the trouble

Location, rooms, buffet restaurant and the geothermal tub outside deserve nothing but 5 stars

Excellent hôtel, very beautiful location, convenient for visiting the Myvatn area. Super clean, great breakfast and dinner. Very nice and friendly staff. Beautiful view to the fjord.

A very nice hotel, with beautiful views! Perfect location

I am giving 4* due to couple of staff and bathroom. Except the hotel Manager and the head lady chef couple of staff in the restaurant were not friendly. The hotel manager and chef were amazing and very welcoming. Absolutely because food and stunning location. If we visit again, will definitely stay here. They have a thermal hot tub as well. Bathroom needs upgrade.

The rooms were very clean and nice. The location is beautiful. But this was the only place in Iceland were we did not have a hot water kettle in the room. The breakfast was ok, nothing special.

Its our second visit at this hotel and we love it. The view is nice next to the fjord. The people at very nice and always have a warm welcome for new guests. The best thing is the food. Its one of the best we have eaten in Iceland. So if you have the chance to stay here, do it! The rooms are normal, nothing special. Free WiFi like always. Theres a hot pot for the guests were you can relax.

Very nice and comfortable hotel with great views over fjord and fjalls with a hot pot from where you can take in the views.Both the breakfast and the dinner buffet where plentiful and very tasty.Notable is the staff and owner.....the service they provide is really second to none.Absolutely fantastic place to stay!

Lively hotel, every thing is amazing, the rooms, the breakfast, even the price per night. At night i can sea the boreal aurora.

Very nice views , serounding and very friendly stuff, but our room was very poor, dated and without the minimum equipment you need in hotel room, especially the bathroom.

Absolute great hotel. The staff is amazing and some of the best people. Just outside of Akureyri so you can see the Northern lights really well, but still are close enough to enjoy the city with around a 10 minute drive

We had a wonderful time. The hotel is in a beautiful location. Stayed here for 2 nights .It was very clean with a very helpful staff. I would definitely stay again. Great value for the price.

Very nice hotel. The building is very big, rooms are sound-proof, its possible to have dinner on site or even to relax drinking a beer in the chill-out lounge. Staff is very friendly and the hotel is located next to a farm very close to Akureyri: perfect for staying close to the city enjoying the silence of the countryside. Ideal for both groups and couples.

Worst service the one can imagine. Internet is not stable and very slow. Receptionist was rough and told us that its impossible to show rooms before we book them. We passed by this place! Better options are possible around.

Rooms were ok view was nice. They had free bikes to borrow which was great. Dinner was expensive though

Room with bathroom was decent-sized, great breakfast included, view is great, one of the better hotels we had on the trip, staff was very accommodated even did our laundry.

This hotel was absolutely amazing. The view from our room was second to none. The bed was comfortable the room was big. Breakfast was included and was great. It is a ten minute drive into Akureyri, which was very convenient. Staff were very polite. WiFi was fast and consistent. Only downside was the shower and bathroom which were very small. Best part was the bar - 500 Kroners for a half litre of Viking classic. Literally the best deal in the country. Would definitely stay here again the next time Im near Akureyri.

Very friendly summer staff on hand hired from Poland. Great hot tub with free provided guest robes at front desk. Very good breakfast. On site bar with ice for room provided upon request. Telescope free for use at hotel patio area, watch the cruise ships come and go to Akureyri in the fjord! Very new construction (2 years old).Only downside was delivery of construction materials on the morning of May 25 via Byko crane truck right outside our room number 32 window. Too noisy. Probably a very rare occurrence and we were just unlucky. I would highly recommend staying at this country hotel location, it is on an old farm, not located in town, and was one of the quieter stays of our whole week in Iceland.

Very nice Hotel. Coffee and hot chocolate for free all day. Perfect view in the fjord during breakfast. When weve been there in september we had incredible Northern lights, you can see them from the hotel terrace 8-)

Fantastic location with a breathtaking view. Manager (owner? was very charismatic and the soul of the hotel. Soft beds and an amazing breakfast.

The staff is extremely accommodating and kind. We felt welcome from the check in, and when I realized I left something behind in the hotel room, they were very quick to communicate with me and ship it to where I was staying in Reykjavik. The rooms are clean and modern, and there are beautiful views all around. Highly recommend!

I Booked with this hotel for last week. All was right till in the same week i was going to travelyo island , my doctor sais me (surprisethat i have a cancer in situ and i have to be urgently operated. Once i knew the notice, i wrote to all the hotels i had Booked with no cancellation ( i had a medical certificate alsoand all, EXCEPT this hotel, canceled me the rooms with no charge. They replied me in a very cold way, and i think they have to be bad people to do that. I wish i Will go Next year to Island, but o wont never go to this hotel with no heart and soul. Carol

Very clean hotel, with good Wi-Fi and complimentary coffee in lounge. Wished I could have stayed longer than one night.

Great hotel - huge from Icelandic standards - room itself was a little small but adequate. Great breakfast with lots of choice. Awesome view to the end of the fjord. Hot tub was super hot!

Very clean, new rooms, good breakfest and friendly people. The only inconveniente is that i had the room key over the day and for that reason the room was not clean when i come back for the second night. Not a big issue.
