Hotel Presidente in Azogues
Description
4 STAR HOTEL ? That is a bad joke .Being generous, one and a half star would be enough.Noisy street, rates published are not the same that are charged .Lot of 3 stars hotels around that are much better
MoreBest location in town
MoreTerrible, over priced, old, dirty. I do not recommend. There are other hotel in the same vecinity, much nice but cost the same, if not less.
MoreIf I were 50 years younger this place would have been okThe hotel is on the light rail line we had to dash into the hotel as the road and light rail line are very busy. The check in was ok except for. We asked for dinner and were told that the restaurant was closed, we asked why because on the web page it stated that we can get dinner, no answer was forth coming. Next question was what does the emergency alarm sound make, i did not get an answer.A young man carried our luggage to the room. The room was not as nice as it looks in the photo, only 1 bottle of water for 2 people, only 1 hand towel for 2 people. The bottles of shampoo had been opened, the waste bin was very small and there was no waste bin for the room. O light over the mirror in the bathroom, the extractor in the bathroom did not work. The room was fairly clean but was overcrowded. There was no hairdryer, no safe, these are the things that are just basic to a comfortable stay. We were so tired we ordered in from a Mexican restaurant. The next morning came the trial of using such small bathroom, if you have a fear of confined spaces then this bathroom is not for you. With that out of the way we went up to the restaurant for breakfast, the drabness of this area was consuming, no music a family huddled around a table speaking in hushed tones, a long table with a few bottles of pickles on it where you would expect the grazing area to be. We sat at a bare table and a young man came over, he asked if we want coffee and how do you want your eggs. He came back with a plate each of 2 small sweet buns with 1 small triangle of meat and cheese, next came a plate of fruit and then a plate of scrambled eggs, not to forget the small glass of juice and cup of coffee. We had people to meet so we left the hotel, on our return the room was so depressing that we packed up leaving for another hotel our stay was for 7 nights. We told the girl on the desk that we are checking out , so we pay for 2 nights and refund the rest, she said no we can only refund 50% , ok refund it to the card we paid with, the girl said i can not do that i need your bank account number. This went on and on for 45 minutes until we left without a refund to stay in another hotel. Not the best experience.
MoreExcellent service
Very clean, good location, friendly staff, simple but good breakfast.
It was a very good option to stay in Cuenca. Perfect location, great breakfast. I will come back there for sure.
MoreVery good!!
Its ok for a 3 star hotel. Its old and need to be updated.
It stills good. Was much better years back.
Deceiving. Nice modern lobby, but that’s where it stops. Don’t be deceived. In spite of its “prestigious” status, this is a very old and gross hotel. The actual rooms are disgusting. Had to move to a different room & floor the first day due to water & plumbing issues. Our second room was worse than the first one. Same water & plumbing issues. Some times you have water, sometimes you don’t. Sometimes you get hot water, sometimes you don’t. Water comes out gritty dirty out of shower head. Looks like coffee grinds mixed with water. Disgusting! Bedding and pillows are old & smelly. Same for the paper thin bath towels. Old cracked tiles. Absolutely nothing good to offer, not even a hair dryer. Cheap toiletries. Couldn’t eat their awful “free breakfast” either. The worst! Couldn’t stand it anymore after the second day, so we ended up moving to Valgus Hotel to finish our 4 day stay in Cuenca. What a difference! We loved it there! Should have moved there the first day. Hotel El Presidente charged us upfront for all the days we had reserved: even the days we were forced to move to Valgus. Horrible experience!!
MoreHorrible horrible horrible...never again. No matter what side you stay on...you can hear everything from the top floor, like everyone on the street is inside your room...place needs to be shut down. Place is disgusting and dirty rooms...transferred us twice...done.
MoreVery bad Hotel don’t come here the guy who works at afternoon very bad customer service his name is Oscar he shouldn’t be working here cause he has attitude and the hotel was kind of dirty and the pillows smell really bad but the worst thing was his attitude
MoreNicely located ..high building can have glimpse of Cuenca #rparoundtheworld
Very nice hotel, the staff is very friendly and is always there if you need any help. The room very clean and spacious. Just what we need n our vacations.
MoreGood place
Good
It was an average room.
Great hotel in the Middle of old town
I love the location, the staff, the breakfast w/ a view & the fact that a handful of legendary people actually stayed & enjoyed Cuenca like I did. Make sure to stop @ the 9th floor bar & see what im talking about. I would love to come back & stay here again. Thank u Hotel El Presidente
MoreBased on my experience is a hotel with very friendly person, spacious and clean entrances, the room is quite large more or less is what I expected, this has a very nice view from restaurant, because the restaurant is in the top floor, i like.
MoreGood place for good price
Area is going through a major restoration, thus traffic is difficult and lots of debri. The facilities overlook the city, staff is very friendly, showers are great, and rooms are very roomy.
MoreNot giving less stars just because there was absolutely nothing i didnt like about the stay. Good rooms, ok breakfast, friendly and helpful staff.
MorePoor quality in rooms and services.
Very Good
Great hotel to stay in a good location in Cuenca, Ecuador. Includes a good continental breakfast and .. Found few dark spots on the bedding and wished they had just few more chairs around the room, but great view and personnel. Would stay here again..
MoreLocation and staff are the only reason they got a star at all. Room was nothing like what was pictured on booking site. Dirty walls, stained bedding, broken elevator.
MoreIt wasnt too bad, I was expected a better room, but the staff was friendly and willing to help any time
MoreTypical south American standard, nothing special, nice view and localization, very bad breakfast. Clean rooms, weird working elevators.
MoreNot clean, uncomfy bed. Poor breakfast. And really noisy in the 8th floor. Unfortunately we had to change hotel. We came late, after a long ride wanted to rest, but couldnt sleep at all.
MoreWe were a party of four and upon reservation were promised a room with one double bed and three single beds. We were given a room with one double bed and one single bed, so we did not fit in there. It was a holiday so we did not complain and squeezed in, but expected to be charged less. However, they insisted on charging the full amount. We asked for a discount and could only get a $10 dollar discount, when the room we got was AT LEAST $50 cheaper for both nights that what we paid. Complete rip off.In addition, they valet parking was awful. When we were leaving, they took 58 minutes to bring our car. We had a sick (vomitingchild, and that long wait was unacceptable. If they could not bring the car in less than 25 minutes (holiday), then they should have told us and we would probably would have decided to bring it ourselves. In addition, the car of another family that asked for theirs 20 minutes after our request was brought to the hotel 15 minutes before hours. So they cannot pin this problem on high demand. Their poor staff could not handle an ordered queue.
MoreOld & outdated facilities. Bathrooms were not properly sanitized. Rooms are cold and dont have heaters or climatization. Parking is a couple of blocks from the hotel so expect to waste at least half hour in Cuencas traffic just to get your car.
MoreNot even close to a 4 star hotel.. Room was dirty. Bathroom was really old.Pictures are shown from the only remodeled floor
MoreA comfy and relaxing place to explore from.
Nice and comfortable rooms for a decent price. Staff is always friendly and helpful. Breakfast is excellent!
MoreMothers Day brunch was excellent. The variety of food was wonderful and beautifully displayed. The waiter was attentive but not in the way... The view is excellent and will look forward, very soon, to another wonderful day...
