Invalidenstraße 54, 10557 Berlin, Germany, Berlin
Set 2.3 km from the lively Potsdamer Platz entertainment district, this contemporary budget hotel in a functional building is also 1.6 km from both the landmark Berlin Wall and the 18th-century Brandenburg Gate. The relaxed, modern rooms come with free Wi-Fi and flat-screen TVs, as well as Egyptian cotton linens and granite bathrooms with rainfall showerheads.Free loaner iPads are available. An airy lobby features a fashionable bar, and a dining room serving snacks and a continental breakfast buffet (fee).
Clean and comfortable rooms offering everything you need. The location is across the street from the main train station and mall. We only stayed one night but it offered a great landing point for one night before we settled into another part of the city for a longer stay.
Minimalism as a design principle is very welcome, but only to the point in which it does not subtract from the function. Unfortunately, in this case too much minimalism led to reduced function in rooms. Breakfast is one of the poorest I have had. It almost leaves an impression that this establishment does not have a kitchen, but rather that the staff is running back and forth from Aldi to bring something to serve in the morning. There is no omelet a staple of all breakfast buffets, and hard boiled eggs are served with shells for us the visitors to peel them.
Ive been attracted by the nice and design picture of the reception and the bar room. The rest was very disapointing. The rooms are very very very small (once again, they attract you with the "king size bed" but the room itself is the smallest room Ive ever seen in my life. There is no restaurant inside the hotel (just a kind of snack bar..), no food or drink machine ( so you must buy 0.2l orange juice at the bar if you want to drink something, prepzre the money), no water bottle in the room. You can not lock the toilet door when youre inside, the curtains let the sun light enter because it is not a blackout curtain (so youre woken up at 6 am in the morning). The breakfast, organic described, if disapointing (13 eurosfor germany : no crumbled or fried eggs, no real ham (only salamy). So Im not happy at all, and it was not cheap ! (375 euros for 3 nights !)
Incredibly rude front desk! I was told on my check in that I have one free breakfast, every single day (3 totali asked for it and all I heard was you gotta pay for the brrakfast with very rude tone like Im trying to get it by force from them. Dont say it please if youre not going to honor it.
Pros: clean, modern design, breakfast staff friendly, comfy bedCons: front desk staff not so friendly, seem unhappy, especially the Hawaiian shirt lady who looks angry, no water kettle or phone in the room. Poor wifi. Their line is always busy. Location is not lively. No cafes around, have to walk about 8 min. to find a neighborhood restaurant.
Due to a delayed train, we arrived at the reception after midnight. The welcome was not really friendly, and the receptionist seemed annoyed. The biggest downside was our experience with the so-called late check out on Sunday. Both on the day of arrival and the day before departure, we asked the receptionist and both times they said the late check-out was no problem. We hanged the Do not disturb sign on the door handle and went to sleep. The next morning at 12 noon - my partner and i still in bed from a long night Berlin before - a cleaning lady storms in without knocking. We had to get out according to her because the checkout was at 12 noon. Despite our insistence that we would not be leaving for another hour, she remained standing in the doorway and asking us to leave. After we made it clear to her that we had a late check-out and that we are entitled to a late check-out, she angrily closed the door. A very unpleasant and unacceptable experience.
After the second night I am noticing that the room hasnt been clean. The towels are changes but no bathroom cleaning and I have even a spider with the web who moved in. Not impressed!
Exactly in the front of the central station and also 15 minutes far by feet from the Brandeburg Tor.Very good position to visit (by train or by feetthe main attractions of the city.Recommended!
Rooms are dusty on eye level shelves. Stuff is OKish but not trained and very awake selfish. The breakfast is just poor, cheap charcuterie, cheap cheese, cheap tea, cheap everything … but super woke no service Stuff. If you like the choice for undeclared (ingredients levelthings they presented you between all the rest of the food you’re welcome!!!
Good hotel. Not so expensive for staying, clean and good design. But minus one star because in room was cobweb in one place.
Their breakfast is same every day and its cold. I mean they dont have omelette etc
Quality hotel in central location. Great rooms and big lobby bar.
Very nice hotel and very reasonably priced. But the location is what makes it very good! Just a block from the Berlin Hauptbahnhof and so convenient. The room was very nice - not large but not cramped either. It was very clean, the bed was comfortable and there were some nice touches like ambient lighting. The television had a lot of channels, including some English ones. The hotel offered a very nice breakfast and the staff was very courteous and friendly. I would definitely stay here again.
Nice hotel and ubication. The reception man was very polite
A lot of value for the money. The position is great.
Nice room, nice location except the staff. I booked and payed on booking.com and they told me that i need to pay again with cash to prevent scammers ( probably insinuating that I am the scammer and also my company and now i need to take a refund on booking.com because i payed twice for 1 night and to report this issue and remind this for next time, never had this since 2 yesrs ago even i had dealed with other to hotels in Europe hundreeds of times , and also , after 4 hours since the check in, i was turning back to hotel and the staff from reception wanted to check me in wich room im staying and alsonto verofy if i have the acces csrd and ...also.... picking me up,from the crowd and i dont know how to qualify this.
Probably was the best hotel of my European trip. Nice clean room, staff very helpful and a great location right next to train station. Easy walk to Berlin wall stretch, Brandenburg gate and the reichsteig. nice little cafe / bar on river just over the bridge
Excellent hotel! Room size was just right for me and the room, bed and pillows are very comfortable.Location and Wi-Fi is tip top. Over 60 channels on tv too.It is a very busy hotel so expect to wait at the queue during check in.My favourite part is the bar at the lobby. Awesome ambience, everyone speaks English and one of the tall blonde yound lad makes the best hot chocolate. I had it 4x during my stay and only he nailed it!
Good experience! Beautiful view from the room. Convenient, in the center of Berlin. Just in front of the Berlin central train station (Br HPF). Few minutes from common attractive spots.
Nice hotel very close to the central station. Stayed there for several days. Clean, tidy as expected for s hotel chain. However the breakfast is incredibly expensive for the stuff provided. Nothing special and lacks of hot dishes. Definitely not worth 10euro.
Rooms are modern and clean, but a bit on the small side. Perfect for business, very close to the main station. However, for restaurants, sights and shops you have to take a bus / tram / subway, since theres not much around the hotel.
Typical Motel One rooms. Very close to public transport which allows you to be anywhere in Berlin very quickly. Nice outdoor space to have some drinks after a long day.
Nice affordable rooms. Very kind receptionnist, I was rejected by 3 hotels before until he gave me room and much information.I know private stay not allowed but I must get plane in the morning for work. This helped me much so I dont have to stay on the streets until morning flight :)
Loved this hotel. Spacious, well appointed room. Mine had a view out over Berlin and access to an outdoor space. Foyer and bar were generous spaces and service was friendly. Buffet breakfast more than adequare. So close to Berlin Hauptbahnhof.
Room was comfy but very basic, no bath, but fine. The problem I have had is the WIFI! Yes it’s free but it hardly works (tried on 3 devices). Been very frustrating as I have needed good internet service almost all the time for work. It sucks.
I’m taking one star off for a sole reason of popcorn walls ☹️ This is an ugly and outdated design feature, which doesn’t belong in hotels like Motel One which take pride in their interior.Otherwise, great hotel! Fantastic staff! Especially Athanasios, very friendly and helpful reception employee; and a slim, short, dark-haired breakfast lady with very infectious smile and good English. Great lobby/bar design with signature chairs and imitation fireplace. Very convenient location. Reliable and fuss-free Wi-Fi. Very much appreciated organic (BIObreakfast, though even 2 or 3 hot foods would make all the difference for better. Fantastic smell of toiletries. Comfy, soft bed.Things we didn’t like: the popcorn walls, long queues at check-in, dirty worn-out bed runner, absence of even the simplest hot foods, absence of child lock on windows (there are rails, but any three-year-old could scale those). Overall, would recommend!
Avoid this hotel. I made a booking two nights in November and twelve days later, the hotel emailed to say there were extensive building works taking place with noise all day, disruption and no luggage facilities. Their website has no mention of this. Extensive building work is not unplanned so why the delay after confirming my booking. Why no mention on the website so that one doesn’t book unless the thought of staying in building site appeals. Staff very unhelpful. Best avoid this hotel as this illustrates their approach to customer service and care.
Well connected to Central station. Easy access to bike ride. Decent amenities. Average breakfast. courteous staff. wifi is weak in some parts of the hotel. Absolute value for money
Great hotel, very clean and very friendly crew.Breakfast was good. Not so big as we expected from a German buffet breakfast, But it was good enough with Fresh Bread and fresh vegatables.Parkinglot was good and clean.Location of the hotel was great, easy to take the train, bus, tram or metro to anywhere. The room was clean and Fresh. Big enough for only the night. The bathroom was also clean and Fresh. Also a plus was the lobby was open 24/7 so after we came to the hotel at 03:30 we drinked a beer.
Weve stayed in Motel One Berlin Hauptbahmhof for four nights.Friendly and helpfull stuff. Cleaning of the room and change of towels was done in daily basis. The breakfast was good but the variery could be better (i.e. omelette, scramble eggs, bacon, etc.)The room was clean, modern bathroom. Extra touches like slippers are more than welcomed. The location was perfected, no more than 5 mins walking distance from Berlins central stationOverall, we had a lovely time, and would totally recomend the hotel to others
Same as all other Motel Ones. Staff at the reception was friendly. Didnt take a whole lot of time for my check in. Got offered an umbrella during a late night out while it was raining. Breakfast was well out together. Lots of options to choose from. Okay coffee for a multifunctional machine. TV didnt work in my room, but lets be honest who needs that.
Perfect location if you need to be close to train station. Friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast was very good but could have had hot alternatives. The AC did not work very well in our room. Over all a very nice hotel.
Very modern, clean. The rooms are very small. There are no nightstands. There is no safe for your passport. The lobby is beautiful, the employees kind. The bed is very comfortable. A king is two twins stuck together. Early check-in was provided. No coffee or tea in the room. If you can drink tap hot water, you can walk to Aldis, right turn out the front door and buy instant coffee quite reasonable. I would stay again.
For a 3 star hotel, it is exceptionally clean. Water pressure is good in the shower and beddings get replaced every night. As expected, there are no dental kits, slippers and additional amenities provided. The hotel is a 4 to 5 minute walk to the Berlin HBF station which makes it easier to anything that you need.
Best location, just 200m away from Berlin Main Station. However there are no quality restaurants nearby. Rooms are of sufficient size though the bathrooms are quite small. Choose a room facing toward the patio rather because of street noise. I cant judge the breakfast because we had none. There are several options for that in the Hauptbahnhof which is cheaper if you just need a small breakfast. Unlike many other Hotel Bars the Motel Ones quite popular. Great for Gin lovers as thr most Motel One Bars.
Arrived early, left bags and came back at 1pm to check if room was ready. It was not so we waited with our 1 year old in lobby. Lots of people arrived, checked in, so we asked to be moved to a room that was ready. They told us we were in a special 3 person room and there were only 8 and none were ready. Fine. So we kept waiting. Except during that time 2 other sets of parents with 1 child arrived and checked in. When I questioned this they said they couldnt give details on those circumstances and that our room would be ready at 3. So apparently they were just having it cleaned last? It was one of a kind? Who knows but the lack of flexibility in room assignments is infuriating. In the end the room was ready just after 3, and it was the handicapped room which meant everything was lower and within the reach of a toddler. It was miserable. Also there is no where to change a baby in the bathrooms in the general area. So we were forced to do a diaper change in the lobby. No fridge, no safe.Go somewhere else if you have a family. This is not appropriate.
I stayed one night for business. Small but clean room. Quiet. Has the basics such as TV, a small table to work on, and hair dryer. The shower has good water pressure. Breakfast is simpler than Intercity, but okay. They dont serve dinner or anything, saying they dont have a kitchen to cook. Americans need to lower expectation because there is no fridge or microwave in the room.
Firstly dont be put off by the name as this is a hotel and not a motel, which may generate some expectations and especially so if you have encountered motels in the US.I stayed two nights and ended up staying a third as I wished to explore more of the city. I cant really say anything bad about my stay and I was very impressed, considering my nightly rate was just over seventy Euros per night. I personally think this is excellent value for money for a last minute booking as mine was, for city centre hotel like this. All the staff that I encountered were friendly and efficient and my room was kept spotless by housekeeping. I found the bed was very comfortable too. I did not eat or drink in the hotel so cant comment on that. Great location for transport links to both Berlin airports and the main railway station is of course just a few minutes walk away.
A safe, clean and modern place to stay amidst the chaos of the extreme central location of Berlin Hauptbahnhof (main train station). Getting there couldnt be easier, 3 min on foot from station. Easy check-in, great prices, super clean modern rooms, 24 hr bar that serves hot panini sandwiches all hours and a spectacular breakfast. Taxis are easily called and within 20 min you can reach the Tegel international airport.
As expected for motel one standards. Location is not overly pretty, but connection to public transportation is optimal, due to main station beeing adjacent. Rooms are clean and service is nice.
Room normal little small, breakfast is good. Requested late check out due to flight in evening but need pay €10 per hour, management not flexible to guest needs. No water is given in room, need to purchase from outside daily.
Perfect location, good ambience and resonable prices. Stayed here twice and i liked it. Heater and tea is not available in the room so i took out 1 star for it. Else i would highly recommend this place if you are visiting Berlin its located right outside the main station and has very good access to supermarket and food places in main station for a quick bite.
Great location for those traveling to Berlin by train. The hotel is modern, clean and has a very good breakfast. The staff are friendly and helpful with excellent service! Would definitely stay here again.
Prices per night are not exactly "budget", but given the location and comfort of the hotel, theyre worth it. The location is very with main tourist attractions and transportation hubs in Berlin within walking distance. The staff is friendly and helpful. Rooms are clean and well equipped, modern and quiet.Overall - a good choice for travellers that want to experience Berlin without sacrificing comfort.
Hotel is great, very near central train station so very easy to go to and from. The lobby has a great bar with really nice calming atmosphere. The rooms are good, compact but nice. Staff are extremely friendly.
Great location to visit Berlin because its across from the Central Station. The value, atmosphere, decor, and service were excellent. Breakfast was a nice touch as well. Would have given a five-star rating if it werent for the unstable WiFi connection in our room.
Stayed there for 10 days during a recent trip. Well maintained rooms. Breakfast buffet is very good with mostly organic breads, dairy products, fruits and juices.A very convenient location 4 minutes from Berlin central Station.
Got a great room on the tenth floor, clean and in excellent condition. Bathroom a bit small but really not much to complain about. Great bar with tasty snacks!
3 night stay on business trip. Room was in good condition as always, except someone was smoking in it before. But I was offered a new room. I declined because my room facing to the back was very quiet. Breakfast was as good as always and good value for the money.
The room we had was a bit smallish and the A-C wasnt very effective (there was a heatwave last July). The beds are firm and comfortable. Nice shower! Smoking is allowed in the courtyard and that can ruin an otherwise good breakfast. Nice lobby area and very nice staff.
