Hotel-Motel La Marquise in Sherbrooke

Retro motel as it suggests-inexpensive room $90 for 2 double beds, t.v, mini fridge, ac and full washroom-room was clean but dated - I expected this from other pictures and price and noting motel. Ceiling had been patched and repatched, semi reno bathroom but clean-toilet and bathtub very low to ground soooo if you are tall not good (I found it low and Im only 5ft tall)-coffee in a.m. NO BREAKFAST, NO RESTO PUBAll in all in was good for a quick refresh and sleep after long drive.**

Someone elses hair on the floor. Had to wipe Someone elses cup ring off the bed side table. No coffee maker. Plug plate broken and half missing, Bedding was dated, flooring was cheap laminate and full of gouges and scrapes, chair was broken, wall paint was chipped and dirty, no art on the walls, bathroom had no fan, heat register was rusty, tub was yellowed from age and shower curtain was old and discolored. Caulking is disgusting, shower only half worked. Outside light burnt out. 2 of 4 bathroom lights burnt There are other motels close by, one is quite vintage, nice for the same price, one is a step down from that but still clean at least. Then theres this place. Only stayed because there was nothing else available. Would consider sleeping in car next time.

A nice mom and pop style motel.

Room 211 was perfect for a nights sleep after visiting the Valley of Coaticook, seeing the Moment Factory light show Forest Lumina and ice-cream factory.Let’s get one thing straight: this is a motel with clean room, no frills and five minutes from Lenoxville with all stores/restaurant one may ask for. Service is friendly and it was sold out. Like all motels nearby.If you are looking for Fairmount quality for $115 it doesn’t exist. So please respect the family running this traditional establishment with a smile. You get a free coffee and tourist advice in the morning if you care asking for ideas!

My partner and I booked a nuptial suite for a weekend getaway. The whole experience was amazing! When I was booking over the phone, the receptionist was so helpful and explained to me the different details and features of each suite. We ended up choosing the room with a round bed and wood panelled jacuzzi tub which did not disappoint! It felt like passing through a time machine. While the room wasn’t spotless it was clean enough for comfort. This is definitely the type of place you go for a retro/campy experience, we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely visit again.

My stay was very disappointing. I had booked 2 rooms with Queen sized beds and hot-tubs. One room was supposed to have a heart shaped hot-tub and the other a regular sized hot-tub. A staff member (Marisewho was very polite took and confirmed my reservation by phone. I let her know that I had gone on-line and that the pricing was different and she told me she would honor the on-line pricing. When I got to the room - it smelt of cigarettes! There was no heart shaped hot-tub just a tub build for 2. There wasnt even a door on the bathroom. I went to the reception and let them know all of the above and all I got was "thats what you paid for". I kept my cool while trying to explain that was not what I paid for and they were not helpful. So, I went back to the room and just couldnt believe their attitude. I then decided to go back and ask to change the room as the smell was sickening where I was informed they did not have any other room. All this to say that I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL/MOTEL.

Room was very big and staff super friendly. This is a retro hotel at its best. Breakfast basic but good. The family running this hotel is very nice and working hard. Super easy to get in and out of your big room if you’re travelling through town.

Said it was $79+ tax on the phone. Go to check out. $147+tax...Such a scam. Gross and out dated. Stepped right back into the 1990s when going into the room. Same bedspread to it looks like.... Never again.

Pretty standard motel experience. Breakfast was mostly based around the cake and donut food groups, but maybe thats how the French roll. My rooms floor was quite sloped which made up for the lack of a fitness center.

Nice and economic stay

Dirty worn out Motel. It wasnt expensive but I feel like I was overcharged due to what we stayed in. They didnt even bother to come in and make up our room after the first night.

Be careful here. Although it has potential, the high price for extremely cramped rooms, to the breakfast that mostly offers donuts, this motel is in dire need of a health and safety inspection.

Pool was nice & hot tub in the room was fantastic. No water pressure in the shower though. Hotel staff very helpful and friendly.

We took the suite, the room was nice. A lot better than we expected. We had a few problems, but the staff promptly dealt with them and our stay was not affected. The breakfast was very ordinary. Overall a good stay, but might be a little bit pricey for what it is.

An old fashioned motel but that gives a charm, nice continental breakfast and they have a great swimmingpool.

There was a strange smell in the room. Also, when we called to make a reservation we asked for the room with the kitchenette but when we got there we were told it had been given to someone else

Dont go! I went in February and it was horrible like the old box tv, things like microwave destroyed, it was old. Sure its a cheap motel but it was like those ghetto hotels you see in movies. At least fix your rooms and have things that work at least.I booked for 6 days and I left the second day to stay at a better place so I canceled my booking and they still tried to charge me! They even said we can cancel and get the money back. So if you stay at this crappy place dont book a few nights just do 1 night at a time, they are a bunch of liars. Dont believe what they say about getting your money back, theyll hassle you for awhile and try and come up with an excuse to not give you your money back

My room was clean and very nice, though others commented on ours being nicer than most.

By far the worst value for money lodging Ive had in quite a while.Totally over-priced - 116 CAD for 1 night + 20 CAD (!!!for bringing a pet.The rooms were dirty, the bed sheets had bugs - actual bugs in them.The "free" breakfast was awful, lots of sugary stuff and a bit of "normal" food.I would not recommend this place to anyone!
