Plaza Balcón de la Axarquía, 2, 29195 Comares, Málaga, Spain, Malaga
Set on the edge of a hilltop village with distant countryside views, this rustic hotel in a former 19th-century mill is 6 minutes' walk from Iglesia de Nuestra Señora de la Encarnación and 12 km from Museo de Los Verdiales. The cozy country-style rooms feature wood-beam ceilings and shared bathrooms. Upgraded rooms add flat-screen TVs and/or balconies. A suite adds a living room and a fireplace, and an apartment offers a kitchenette and a whirlpool tub.Meals are served in a rustic restaurant. There's also a shaded courtyard with vines and a water well, plus a cellar displaying former mill machinery.
Recently went for a day out in Comares and visited this restaurant. A beautifully preserved old building and decor. We decided to sit on the rear terrace and take advantage of the superb view. My wife and I chose "solo mio" pork in wine which came with chips. Our daughter in law chose chicken skewer and a side order of chips . Our pork dishes arrived and we sat waiting politely for the skewer. After a few minutes my daughter in law told us to start eating. Well I did and so did in the region of ten wasps and similar with my wifes meal. The meal was tepid and the pork "fatty", the chips were good, all ten of them. After eating some of the pork and the chips, I placed my plate on an the floor away from the table in an attempt to lure the wasps away. My daughter-in-laws chicken skewer arrived and my wife placed her half eaten meal alongside mine to distract what was by now a swarm. A family at another table were having the same problem with the wasps, the mother after a few minutes got up and left her meal, taking a baby and two infants out. Her husband and the eldest son soldiered on. I suggest the owner has a good look around the terrace for a wasps nest.Write to Linda Tyler
Sabe demasiado a fumo.
Style over substance. Huge menu but at least two of our meals were from frozen and not good. We were then overcharged by 85 Euros on the bill. When queried it was removed immediately without question. Beautiful restaurant, mediocre food, questionable billing. No return I think
Very nice place. Incredible view. Simple, yet tasty dishes.VERY good sangria.Lovely staff.
I would give less stars if i could food is disgusting wood inside it or ice if you are lucky. Wait hours to have food and be given it separate times no management and new staff all the time. This place needs to be handed over to someone who can run a business. No one who lives in the village goes there due to the inadequate running if the place every person i have spoke to has a horror story. And to be told i should sure their supplier for the food being so bad is a joke offerd to pay half my bill and it was rejected and told not to cone back ( no loss too mewould let my dog eat here.
A faire absolument.
Delicious food and very friendly staff.Highly recommended!
Perfect service and more then perfect food!! 6 out of 5 :)!!!!!
Went for Sunday lunch. Throughly terrible experience with disgusting service. Waited 75 minutes for food. Ordered four main courses and two starters and the starter arrived after the main course. Sent the starters back. No apology! Order was taken by number from the menu and they still got it wrong with main course served with chips, not vegetables as requested. Also the restaurant was empty so no excuse for slow service and no apology for delayed service. They also told us the the T bone was between 300-400 grams but the bill was for 66eur (800grams). Beware!!!!I would recommend - DO NOT GO
Wonderful setting, with tasty food but completely chaotic service very slow and indifferent frankly very very bad, customers were literally walking out without paying it should be or evencouldbe a gold mine in the right hands sadly it isnt Pepes bar is better
Placed an order. After 1 hr a waiter asked once again about the dishes (and all the order was wrong nevertheless he wrote down our order). After 2 hrs from the ordering the issue repeated - almost all was wrong, and we were still waiting. We’ve started eating after almost 3 hours, BUT again not all was right but it was hard to wait again. The food wasn’t taste. And overall it was too expensive. There are a lot of other restaurants that are cheaper (twice cheaper!and much-much better. Don’t visit this restaurant.
Eten is mogelijk vanaf 19 uur.
A fantastic place, great food and really nice people.
Amazing tapas, great service and good prices. Delighted we eat there
Lovely place and so friendly. Marg & steve.
Beautiful
Best steak we have ever had! Beautiful restaurant and the most amazingly friendly staff. We will be back. Thank you
A very warm welcome and delicious food. The views are spectacular, the decor is in a rustic style. Very interesting inside to see the old mill machinery.
excellent views from the patio Andaluz
Stopped in for a couple of beers here today. Absolutely gorgeous rustic decor with an amazing terrace with stunning views all the way to the sea. The server was really friendly and attentive. We had already eaten elsewhere but the smell of the bbq nearly made us eat again. The menu looks interesting and we will definitely be back to try the ribs soon. Think this could be our new local ☺️☺️
We booked a dinner table for 4 at 7pm 4days before and after having driven for 40 minutes for an on time arrival, we were told that they had decided to shut that evening, we reminded him we had booked which he admitted that we had but he was still shut, and closed the door, very poor service indeed, so dont always expect a booking to mean a table here.
Eaten here twice and both times we found the food to be great, all freshly cooked, with great service from friendly staff and a stunning location. They even have a small vegan menu. We will be back to stay as hotel guests!
Run by a couple of boys at limited times of day. Terribly hot rooms in summer - no fan or air con. Restaurant expensive/overpriced.
Great location, helpful staff and super tasty food.
Very good service, polite and understanding. Food was amazing at a very good price. Definitely be visiting again.
A little bit expensive. They are trying to be touristic place, but actually usuals. That’s why 4 stars. To expensive for the quality they have.
Very good food and very good red wine
Fabulous setting. Good local food. Not a chips with everything venue very different. Beautifully restored buildings. Not to be missed.
Fabulous setting, food and service. Great value for quality special occasion
Great place, very historic, lovely staff, amazing food, but strange opening hours, book a table here and you wont be disappointed!
Such a cosy well keep little place...
Great view
Recently reopened by welcoming, friendly staff. An excellent menu at a reasonable price. A beautiful setting with amazing views. Highly recommended.
Recently reopened under new management. Very friendly staff and great food. Beautiful setting for a meal and lots of historical machinery decorating the building.Highly recommended.
Good holiday food cusine
Just be warned you cannot eat here without a reservationI am sure the place is loveku. We come here every year with my parents.it has a great view over the valley and food used to be great.Change of hands means you cannot eat here unless you are in the hotel as they "are concentrating on their boardersFair enough however they have a sign which states the price of a fixed menu outside so I can only assume they were lying and felt we were not the right clientele for Thier boutique experience. As a local who has eaten around the world in high and eateries I was pissed right off.So. Could be good Bhutto dont redirect too eat of you are non resident. It was the only reason we went to Comares so Colmenar for lunch next time. Will pass onto the other residents around here.
Very lovely hotel found on the site of an old olive oil mill. The restaurant is very good, serves local cuisine and special diet needs like gluten free or vegetarian. Beware that during the summer months there is no AC so pay attention to the weather forecasts for the area.
