Hotel Macià Real de La Alhambra in Granada
Description
The hotel is in a good location with a bus stopping outside to take you into the city. The room was modern and very, very clean I personally didnt like the carpets,The service was also good but I didnt like some of the policies, we couldnt get a drink from the bar at 11pm on a Friday evening yet a private party were drinking and to rub it in they were beneath our balcony!!!We were told if we wanted a drink to go to the bar next to the hotel, very disappointing. Hence 4 stars.
MoreBar shuts at 11pm but only for residents, go to an event or party and you can drink until early morning, I got turned away from the bar at 11pm and the party which was below my room kept me awake until after 1am until I complained about the noise, then they went inside to party
MoreAs always for me a great welcome and cleanliness are my priorities and this place didnt disappoint. Greatswimming pool. Would stay again .
MoreBeautiful and clean hotel located at the foothill of Alhambra. Modern and spacious. The staffs are quick and efficient and importantly friendly. Wonderful restaurant serving fantastic breakfast and lots of seats too.
MoreSpacious rooms with private bathroom safe fridge.Great location. My only concern is that some staff members need more maners. Not my first time at this hotel but one of the staff members does made me think of booking another hotel next time.
MoreGood hotel but outside of the center of Granada. Center easily reachable per bus. Clean rooms. But we didnt appreciate the swimming pool. No sun from 16:00, only 8 beds for a full hotel, and no poolbar, just a vending machine like in a train station. This should be much better for a 4 star hotel.
MoreI am surprised at other positive reviews, pathetic restaurant. Staff in restaurant atrocious. Worst part of trip. 2 stars because the room was not bad. No kids menu what do you expect kids to eat. All I asked was some plain rice for my 3year old and the staff picked a fight. Cannot believe restaurant staff can be this rude.
MoreThe one thing you book a hotel is to rest and go to sleep. Well, Macia real does not do that one thing right. It is apparent that the hotel was renovated but they left out the beds. Theyre tiny, rock hard and low. It looks like a room from the 2010s with a bed from the 70s. Absolutely would not come back.
MoreReception staff were excellent, breakfast was very good, ha mam was disappointing and the staff in the hamman were very rude. We were there for our anniversary and that put a damper on the trip.
MoreWe had a great 2-night stay in this hotel. Ideal location for easy car (or cheap taxiaccess to the Alhambra and then easy drive to the Sierra Nevada. The hotel carpark was extra (10-14€ per dayalthough we could have parked for free on the street just down the road. We used the No.33 bus to go into Granada city, right next to the cathedral (1.40€ each, one way The bus stops are just outside the hotel. The staff were very pleasant and helpful, and it was reassuring to see them all wearing masks, despite it not being compulsory. We had a couple of small issues in our room (no plug and faulty curtainbut we informed reception and they fixed them the same day.The twin room was modern and very clean. The mattress and pillows extremely comfortable, with extra pillows and blankets available in the cupboard if needed... 10/10! The windows blocked out the noise from the road outside very well and the black-out curtain worked very well. The buffet breakfast was plentiful with a good variety to suit all preferences, and the times worked well. The only complaint would be that the bacon/sausages/eggs were not very hot, although they did seem fresh. Most guests unfortunately did not wear masks but all staff did and their was hand-gel available at the food stations. The waiting staff were very friendly and helpful and tables were cleaned quickly and everything kept clean and tidy.
MoreNot sure what makes this hotel 4 star. The rooms have no kettle or coffee and the bath doesn’t have a water stopper so it can only be used as a shower. Apparently there’s room service but in the room no mention of what can be ordered. So many basic things are missing. Beds are comfortable but very low to the floor which is also unusual for a hotel.
MoreThe hotel looks nice and everything is clean. They have a a huge parking. However, when you book a room with a single bed as a separate option and it’s called queen room, but not the double or twin room, they tell you a nice little story that when you book something there is no guarantees that you’ll have the chosen option; moreover, they give us a “higher” room with a terrace and it has nothing in common with the word terrace. On top of it we had a room with a strong cigarette smell, so it was like a place that was previously used as a smoking spot for all guests and than they have just put some beds in there. The staff didn’t give any information about parking lot usage and general facilities, so you have to ask literally everything. That would be nice to have a piece of paper with some useful description.
MoreWe stayed here for work and the room was fantastic! Super huge for a great price. Even the room service was reasonably priced. The only reason I remove a star is because the location isnt great. If I was visiting Granada for vacation I would stay closer to the center but if you dont mind a bus ride and like huge rooms (with comfortable bedsthen this place is perfect.
MoreGood service, good location, good prices. The breakfast is continental and local specialties.
MoreNice rooms but there are not enough sunbeds at the pool and they get "reserved" all time with towels for hours. No one cares
MoreWhat a disappointment ...This was my worst hotel stay in many years of intensive travel. The ventilation in the room didnt work: it made a lot of noise and only blew hot air. To have some oxygen we had to keep the window open, but unfortunately the hotel is at a very busy location, with ongoing traffic and people shouting under our window all night. We didnt sleep. We had booked 2 nights, but decided to leave after one night.Stanislas
MoreWe really enjoyed our stay here.. comfortable and clean rooms, both front desk and bar staff are extremely courteous and helpful.
MoreI had stayed here recently (September 2021). Although the general staff members are very cordial and helping, the barman in the bar and a few helpers the cafe seemed very rigid. The food needs to be upto the mark, was really disappointed with the breakfast menu. No one seemed to care to re-stack the foods that were over. The fruits did not look appealing. Their menu needs to expand, they just serve sandwiches and a few pizzas. The rooms were comfortable and okayish, not so great views from the hotel. Their gym was really small and on the terrace and gets hot like a furnace in the afternoon. The pool was good and has a few sunbathing beds.
MoreNice hotel and big and modern rooms, good pool and very friendly stuff. Id give 4.5 because the breakfast was the worst I had in weeks here in Spain. Coffee and scrambled eggs horrible, tortilla something similar...
MoreGood but they need to focus more in cleanup and provide nice and clean bed sheets as that what people would expect when checking in
MoreThe hotel is great! The room was huge, very clean and the staff was lovely. The mattress was divine!I do recommend to book in advance the spa/Turkish baths because it is not only open for hotel guests but for everyone and sadly, we couldnt find an opening for our staying (you do have a special price if you are staying at the hotel). The parking was around 15 euros/per day.Hope this helps, I do recommend this hotel!
MoreAwesome HotelI loved everything about it.Very very friendly staff, cleanThey spoke porfectly EnglishAbsolutely beautiful Hotel
MoreVery nice Hotel, friendly staff, comfy rooms, nice breakfast. Only a few minor niggles, but nothing major. I would definitely return, also because of the close proximity to the Alhambra and easy bus access.
MoreVery pleasant stay. Hotel is on the outskirts of the city by easy to find and ideal for us as we were in the car and didnt want to drive in the city. Comfortable beds and the pool was a nice facility. A walk to the Alhambra is 30 mins and about the same to the city centre but there is a bus stop literally right outside the hotel. Highly recommended and very good value.
MoreGreat service, pool was small but well appreciated on a hot summer day. The Foosball and pool table were a hit with the kids!! The breakfast was good and the dinner was decent, very large portions!
MoreStayed for 2 nights. Passports were checked during checkin. Breakfast for groups were arranged in a separate hall, not in the usual breakfast room. First time I saw such an arrangement in Spain. The table linen was dirty from use by the previous occupants, spoons and forks were not in place. People were grabbing spoons and forks from other tables. Tour manager had to repeatedly ask for fruits, it came after 10 minutes. Hot water was missing in the water dispenser. Used tables by other groups were not cleaned and lying just like that. Only one steward was managing the whole room. Choice of food was not varied. Coffee and tea dispensers were not upto the mark.Did not like breakfast arrangement. Rooms and bathroom were OK, neat and clean.
MoreFood was okay, stayed there as it seemed good and was close to Sierra Nevada but the beds were utterly horrible, the whole family was up until 4 tossing and turning, the beds were so hard u may as well have slept on a pavement,at least u would have had fresh air on the pavement in our room u could hardly breath it was so hot, window wouldnt open without a key(which they didnt let us use until 10 oclockthe aircon wasnt working, pool was shut, wouldnt recommend as there are so many other good hotels nearby
MoreGreat hotel, 45 minute drive from Sierra Navada Ski Resort. Family Rooms for just under 100€ Inc breakfast, half the price as at the resort.
MoreJust a transit hotel before go to Alhambra palace. Location are close to palace, nothing special surrounding this area. You need to scan your passport before check inRoom are new, clean and good, little bit dark coz less lighting in the roomWi-Fi in some part of room are cannot connected. No kettle and Coffee/tea machine in Room . When you ask the reception respond , they can only said you try again and try again ...No SolutionBreakfast are not so good and you can only eat then go, so this Hotel only good choices if you go to Sierra Nevada or Alhambra Palace
MoreClean and comfortable. Food OK, but breakfast is continental style. Dinner is a cross between Spanish and English.
MoreMy visit was in October not in holiday time, reception was frindly but the window was brocken cannot open so they offer another room, another problem was with breakfast that didnot write the ingredients and we asked about it no one could answer it and i cant eat Ham so i couldnot try anything..
MoreFor a large hotel it was surprisingly quiet. On the edge of Granada good choice to park your car and take the bus or taxi into the city.Bonus - Has a pool and Arab Baths.
MoreHad a great time here. Stayed for 6 nights. Four stars from me, cause the breakfasts need some diversity. Generally, recommend.
MoreClean hotel and good stay. The beds were really old and uncomfortable and the room was not nice as a 4-star hotel room should be. We stayed in the triple bed room and they had three twin beds lined up right next to each other with barely any room to move around. Room provided a nice view of the Sierra Nevada Mountain Range. The hair dryer was broken and they had that fixed in a couple hours. Hotel staff was very helpful and friendly.Location is a bus ride away from AlHambra and other attractions. Room was not so great but I would probably stay there again because the people were so great and helpful with everything!
MoreEverything was ok, but the air conditioning did not work during the night. It was a cold night and the room was cold. On the other hand, everything was very good.
MoreThis is one of my favourites hotels in Granada. I normally stay here when I want to ski in Sierra Nevada. Very well located to take the road to the ski resort. It will take you about 30 minutes to get to the top of the mountain with the privilege of having La Alhambra very close as well.I really recommend to walk to La Alhambra from the hotel and you will enjoy a wonderful view of Granada city. This hotel has a great spa.Breakfast buffet is good with the exception of the scrambled eggs, very liquid and tasteless. Definitely something to improve.
MoreComfortable hotel and rooms. Underground parking for a fee.Not a fan of their breakfast considering the price and the restaurant was pricey too. Suggest Albanta for dinner if youre spending that much - 2 mins away and lovely food. Otherwise head into town.Youll be getting a taxi around Granada from here unless youve loads of time and energy but theyre reasonable at €5 in centre and Alhambra etc. Cheaper than trying to park somewhere if theres a few people. The website says theres a shuttle bus but I didnt see one and didnt ask as we just jumped in the taxi that was outside - always seemed to be one there.
MoreGreat Hotel just outside the city centre but only a short taxi journey to the centre or the Alhambra. The hotel is modern and very clean with nice rooms some with terrace. The breakfast is a good range of the usual stuff with nice coffee. There is also parking in the hotel which is great as parking around Granada can be problematic
MoreThis is a hotel that was built very recent, so everything seems neat and clean, and they are actually good. Only problem was the 5-step stairs right before the hallway where all the rooms are located. Those steps were little uncomfortable. Other than that, great quality hotel. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
MoreExcellent hôtel, great service
The hotel room was nice and clean and the design was very modern. However basic hotel amenities were lacking. They did not have a kettle to boil water in the room and did not have a coffee maker. At least the staff at the restaurant was nice enough to give us hot water for instant noodles. Therefore 4 stars.. Not 5. But overall nice environment
MoreOthe online reviews stated that this hotel had a free breakfast, this is false. The breakfast was rather overpriced in my opinion. Other than that the hotel staff was very friendly and helpful.
MoreGood food and breakfast at the hotel. There was also decent air conditioning. The internet was very slow. But the hotel is close to Alhambra.
MoreVery good place and nice views
Nice place to stay with nice prices. They should improve the breakfast
Good hotel. Ideal as a base for working on or visiting the Sierra Nevada mountains
MoreA bit out of the way from city centre but well worth it. Accessible by local bus, which runs every 20 mins.
MoreThe bed is bad, the facilities is so so. And the breakfast, I cant describe it. The check in procedures are a bit annoying. I regret myself staying here
MoreModern hotel in a good location to visit the Alhambra. The restaurant offer high quality food with excelent presentation. The room was fully equipped, clean and quiet. We had an amazing breakfast buffet in the restaurant too. It is a 4* so you have to pay a price but it is worth it.
MoreVery good place. Not expensive. One member of the waiting staff let the place down by being rude and inconsiderate to several customers on several occasions.
