Hotel Lonuveli in Male

The location is not so bad just next to the beach but the room, oh my god!! If I say that the room was cramped, it would be an understatement. My wife, daughter, and I kept on struggling and colliding with each other as there was absolutely no space. I understand this is not a pricey hotel but in every way possible the hotel is "cheap" - plain and simple. Do yourself a favor and find a better hotel!!

I stayed here one night prior to a flight out of Male. I was nursing the tale end of a travelers cold so I can’t speak much to the surrounding area, as I sadly didn’t explore it much after not much sleep the night before and some work I needed to do.Pros: I found the hotel staff to be friendly and helpful with my luggage, pickup and drop offs at airport, and overall attending to my needs. I had no issues there thankfully.Sheets were clean and shower was nice. Cracked glass as everyone said but that’s just cosmetic. Likely a bad choice for an upgrade and they don’t have the money yet to redo them. No harm no foul. Surprisingly really good food I thought. Breakfast was minimal but the dinner I bought and ate there was good. Reception was very kind and helpful too.Cons: As numerous others mentioned there were, sadly, many cockroaches. I don’t make a fuss about 1-2 little guys that scamper away as it is the city island and this happens, especially in tropics. But when there are easily 10 in a matter of 3-4 hours I had to kill that’s not good. One on my coffee mug. A bunch in the bathroom, and then even one on the lower side of my comforter that was enough for me. I politely requested a room change, which to staff credit they promptly assisted with, but it was literally the room across. Apparently the original room is nearby a neighboring restaurant where trash is near that room and that was the reason I was given. I only counted 2 cockroaches in the next room which was welcomed by comparison. Unfortunately the new room AC wasn’t great, perhaps that’s why it wasn’t given to me in first place, but good enough. For one night it was easily survivable, but not ideal. I stayed at another before similar price without any issues and probably should’ve chosen that one again. I couldn’t recall the name though. Oh well.For a stopover you can roll the dice and hopefully have a good experience. Perhaps they will get the big problem under control. Removed from that it was fine. But if it’s prolonged stay might want to try elsewhere or be ready for a backup plan just as a suggestion.Good luck traveling friends! The room was small, smelly, mattress was hard, no hanger, no hairdryer, no place to put shower amenities in the bathroom.Overall it was not a great experience staying there. And obviously their photographer did a very good job in taking nice photos and posting on Agoda website. Won’t go back again.

Highly recommend if you need a hotel around hulhumale closer to the beach. Rooms are good but since the switches for the lights were on the headboard of the bed, it was inconvenient. Other than that everything was good, we liked the stay and thank you for the hospitality.

Amazing beach view like literally less than 100 steps from the beach! Location is you have to ride motorcycle then a boat to another island! Room space is small just reasonable for its price. It’s okay since you most of the time. Will spend time at the beach.

Rooms are clean and so are the bathrooms, 3rd floor is not that high as staircase is small, its a small motel, highly advise to get super deluxe room as others are way too small, closest "supermarket" is redwave, and there is a close by souvenir store inside the grocery store. Stayed in Torquise hotel previously and its similar to it, just a little cleaner, but the staff at torquise was superb.No umbrellas, which is very stange, the dont have it at all for anyone, if you didnt get it from the resort, better to get one from nearby Redwave store.

Hotel is one of the worst hotels in Maldives. Service is awful and hosts are rude. Glass sinks are broken and room doesn’t have amenities. Hotel is trying to charge for everything for no reason, such as cutleries. They didn’t help us with our luggages while needed to help to put it to taxi.

Not good at all. Third floor Sea view rooms are so so.

The rooms shown on the website are very different from the ones actually present. The staff is very unhelpful and rude. Even if a guest falls sick, they couldnt care less and you are left to fend for yourself. There are multiple hotels right adjacent to this one, go for any one of those.

DO heed the advice and listen to the complaints of those who posted here.We paid the price for ignoring the negative comments posted. They are (I cannot use the word "were" unfortunatelyreal horror stories.We experienced cockroaches, poor wifi, foul odor, unresponsive staff, tv not working, safe boxes not working, stained and tired looking linens that have seen better days, door handle in stste of disrepair, broken side cupboard, so-so breakfast, 4th storey verandah not made out to be what was shown on their website photos and etc.Those photos on websites are totally misleading but I must say was done up (misleadinglyvery well by a great photographer!More a backpacker hotel, even with those tiling all over and fancy looking glass toilet basin top which had the tap loosened from the basin!How do were know so many of these?Because we occupied 3 rooms in our group!We could not possibly stay here again. Nor would we recommend this bad hotel to anyone! Not even to our worst enemies!

Holiday Factory tie up with this hotel is the worst. If you’re here with Holiday factory bear in mind that it’s worth a 1 star hotel service.Ms. Mary as a Holiday Factory representative lacks mere coordination and communication skill though she acclaims to be the best tour guide there is. Her motto is “you’re paying for the best as per your package”. Self centred proactive individual as such leads to tourists having to bear with what she tells and does not have a bone for taking in feedback.

Stayed for a night... Quite OK. Best location. Easy access to Beach, Park and City area.

I cant fault the hotel for being in a place that doesnt serve alcohol. 🤣 (Yes the entire island is dry.service was superior. Breakfast was great, the customer service was amazing.

The location no doubt is great. The rooms are small but seeing that male is small island its understandable. Plus they have managed it very well. The staff is good and its a great place for layovers or if you are trying to stay for 1-2 nights.

Near to everywhere. Nice food too! Staff were accommodating and hospitable. Their supervisor, Sir Raymond is very helpful in our stay there. :)

Some rooms has no fridge and cockroaches were there. Doorknobs, bathroom cupboard need replacements as for the wear and tear. Small rooms. Cleaned when you first check in but they will never clean your room during your stay but they provide daily 2 bottles of water. Breakfast was poor and juice was sugar drinks.Some staff are attentive and friendly Servers.

Its a lodge not a hotel, horrible experience, small rooms, rude staff, dirty towels, obsolete items, took money for 3 adults in one room but no arrangements for 3rd one, no bed, no blanket.

Hotel is at good location thats the only positives.This is more of a lodge not a hotel. Good for bagpackers but not really good for families and couples.Nice location and nice terrace of the hotel with stunning view!Now negatives1kind of racist and rude reception, we requested for beach facing window room we got denied by reception Nepali person and few minutes later the room was given to some white people, felt bit sad and frustrated with this attitude2we asked for toothpick in the evening, the reception guy told to come down and collect the toothpick, was not bothered to serve at room3we asked water, they asked to pay 1usd for small 500ml bottle. We paid so much and 1 complementary bottle u cant give? Its kind of very rigid attitude4we asked for the room cleaning the reception Nepali fellow told that we cannot do it, you should have done it in morning! Seriously hotel will define when they will work????? Finally we convinced the nepali fellow to support us and after argument of 15mins he agreed to send staff for cleaning in the evening..5morning complimentary breakfast is DISASTER, absolutely nothing more than bread jam and rice and curryWho does eat rice and curry at 9am in the morning.... I mean even if u ask for change in menu they say sir thats what we got, we cant help.IF YOU EXCUSE THIS STAFF THEN THE HOTEL IS GOOD! NEED BIT MAINTAINANCE. AND THIS IS SITUATED NEXT TO BEACH WHICH IS AWESOME PLUS POINT

Stay was good. Rooms are small, but if u are wandering the streets of hulhumale and hopping the entire island and jist want to sleep. You can choose here. Breakfast was good. Fresh juice.

Bar, resturant and coffee shop closed. Hotel staff are excellent. Great hotel if you are stuff with a lay over at MLE airport. Tidal area for swimming snorkeling is nice and almost private. Bikinis allowed! Walking distance without heavy luggage.

Very good place.Rest in Honeymoon room and satisfied with it.Staffs are kind, polite and well trained.Had a little issue on pickup service, but I made a call and staff care it quickly.It is located infront of beach. Lots of constructions are on processing, but it was not too noisy.Breakfast is simple but well organized. Especially fresh papaya was the best.There is a roomservice and food was absolutely great. Prawn fried rice and Nasi goreng were hometown missing flavor.Room is very clean. A/C works well. Water pressure is a little weak, but it is ok.Beautiful sea view and watching sunrising in the morning are why I am going to back here later.There is no lift. You should walk up stairs.

Hotel is well located, staff are friendly and hospitable, bfast is good, and rooms are in general clean and spacious enough, some even have amazing sea view (we got lucky on that front thanks to Raymond at the front desk). Just what you need, specially as you will not be spending the entire day there.Room for improvement: although we could tell the towels and bed linen had been washed, they had permanent stains on them/looked rather old, which as a guest is not the most comforting thing to experience. Quality of pillows and condition thereof were more of a miss. Under the bed, one could also see no cleaning in a long time had occurred.Could we suggest water-bottle refill is offered to guests instead of single-use 500ml plastic bottles? Hotels should be setting the example for a more sustainable hospitality industry in Maldives, and should be creating the awareness in travellers, not the other way around.

This is a hotel which is right on front oh Hulumali beach. Very good atmosphere. Tourist spot, Business talks can be initiated. Nice food and supporting staff. I love the support they provided for each activity. We stayed there for 2 days.

The hotel was okay, the service was extremely poor. The tv was not working neither was the toiletries or towels well stocked. The only good part was the view. The beach was a few feet away and the restaurant was good. The breakfast was very limited and not suitable for vegetarians.

Breakfast is extremely basic. Rooms are not what the pics show. It is horrible. Water gets cold after 1 shower. No hand towels and face towels. Rooms dont get clean unless you ask. Really 1 star. Marketing is overrated. Area is really bad

Very decent hotel. The rooms were very clean and cozy, wifi worked well, and the stay was pleasant. The staff were very polite and helpful.I would advice anyone staying to head to the morning budget a little early.

Place is just across the beach which is nice, clean room, there are limited choices for breakfast but food is great as they have Filipino Dishes (during lunch and dinner buffetas well, aside from the International and Maldivian cuisine.

This is a small hotel located in the City of Hulhumale in Maldives. We stayed here for 3 nights, Its very accesible cause it was just 30 min. away from the airport. The room that we stayed in had a sea view which is really nice but not quite impressive cause it was in the city. The room is good, Its perfectly polished, bed is well made, the drawers are enough, the washroom is also fine. The selection of food for breakfast is limited but the food is good. I can say that It is the perfect hotel to stay in If you wanna drop by or have a short stay in Maldives.

Good hotel view if you take honeymoon room. Service is ok. For non veg people its a good restaurant, but for vegies, no option.One bad thing I faced was I booked the room for 3 nights on honeymoon room but when I came, it was given to someone else and I had to take another room for one day which was not encouraging. I did not create a mess out of it but from customer point of view, I paid it before hand and more money still I had to stay in normal room which was not at all a good room.

Only thing good about this place is it’s clean, lots of electrical sockets and it’s quite near nice eateries. Beds are awfully hard as wood, bath shower wasn’t aligned so water hits the edge of the tub and mostly down to the floor, we were on level 3 and construction noise was on all day, power went out for an hour and they claimed it affected the whole city but strangely nearby eateries had air conditioning and lights? No fridge in the room to chill our drinks, we arranged for transport to and fro but our dive guide arranged a cab to the hotel which fortunately did pick up the tab, we confirmed transport to the airport when we checked in but just a couple hours beforehand they decided to push it later and also slammed the phone on me when I was concerned that we couldn’t arrive in time for our flight. Breakfast was provided but was really bad with instant coffee, instant noodles, sausages, oily egg omelette and toast.Hard beds, construction noise and bad food when illy coffee is served a few doors down.

Very clean rooms and you can walk across the road to the beach. Great staff and attentive front desk!Good place to stay for transit or diving trips with Club Dive Maldives as its a 2 minutes pick up. The dinner buffet is worth it for 10 dollars. High recommended place to stay.

Its a very affordable hotel that meets the basics: comfortable bed, clean and decent bathroom and good food. The hotel staff is very friendly and they provide good assistance on booking or calling cabs and tips on where to get ferries and boats. Its a good choice for first timers and budget travelers.
