Hotel Ledger Plaza Bangui - in Bossangoa, Central African Republic
Great
Of all the rooms are only five stars. Everything else is not even close ... the worst service is in the restaurant, wi fi is almost non-existent, hygiene is low ... the pool, which is only a meter deep, is usually crowded on weekends ...
This hotel is the most expensive hotel in Bangui, however, their service is not professional. Although not a European 5 star hotel, it is amazing such a hotel in the middle of a country devastated by war. Very nice pool, and great buffet. If you are planning to go to the swimming pool, it is better to take a pool towel with you, because very often the hotel does not have enough pool towels. They must be making tons of money but zero renovation or maintenance for a very old building. Given the scandalous rate at this hotel and the fact that it is the only decent hotel in town, acting as a quasi-monopoly, always full- they should at least do some maintenance or renovation. They should also build a proper ball-room or improve room isolation. Whenever there is an evening reception in the courtyard, you wouldn’t sleep the whole night due to loud music. It’s like noone cares about whatever paying customers may be experiencing.
Not good service as it should be for place like this.
Not very clean, very poor internet connection I wont recommend for a long stay
Natural view is awesome
The best hotel in all Bangui, the have issues with internet in the rooms. The wifi is very weak. Also the prices are expensive.
No Air conditioning. Getting internet to work is a nightmare. Tap water is brown in color.
The internet is not the best but its an ok hotel to stay in. The breakfast is nice..
bad service, staff are generally not friendly or interested in service customer
Best hotel of the country. Just TV is poor. They dont accept payment by card !!!
My colleague and I were very impressed with our dinner at the Ledger Plaza tonight. We’re not staying at the hotel as guests, but made the trek out for dinner. It was a good experience - our cheeseburger and pizza exceeded expectations, as did the friendly and professional service. The restaurant is quite large and I would recommend ordering from the a la carte menu, rather than having the buffet (which is pricy), but our food was good and the menu was in both French and English - important for the unlearned like me!I’ll be back.
Staff at the hotel habitually open windows in my room daily, and as a result I find mosquitos in my room every day. Plasmodium falciparum is the most deadly of the five strains of malaria and represents >85% the malaria cases here. This hotel will get you killed. The breakfast - on the days when they remember to put out the toaster (maybe 50%), they dont always plug it in. And if you plug it in, the staff will unplug it. This is during the meal. Food set out. Toaster is next to a pile of sliced bread. These folks are special. The one saving grace is that the dining room causes me to slow down when I eat. Thats because my hands are so busy shooing flies away that I cant eat at a normal pace.

Huge Disaster and DisappointmentThis place is an absolute sham and probably the worst value for money property in the entire continent. I have stayed in more than 30 different countries in the continent(yes, i travel extensively!and can understand when you have to pay top dollar (like close to 300 USDfor even minimal luxury at places where getting even that is a big effort for the establishments(so justifies in a way. But this place was a disaster and disappointment from the minute our experience began. Our Shuttle guy never showed up on time as expected or even the simplest benefits (like an Umbrellanot being available for guests. Something you dont even expect from a 3 star to fall short on! And for the huge amount you pay you feel very cheatedLOCATION: Good location close to all key Points of interest and not far from airportDINE + DRINK: Probably one of the only decent fine dining restaurants and ‘BAR” in town with a lovely outdoor seating too. This is one of the HIGHLIGHTS of the propertyROOM: I stayed in 1030, so this review is based on that; VIEW: Nice view of the pool and greenery ; SIZE: Very spacious room; AIR-CON: Absolutely LOUSY air-conditioner which never seemed to work and we felt so HOT in the room all through our stay and couldnt even sleep in the night and woke up very tired and exhausted!!BED: Comfortable bed BATHROOM: Tiny Bathroom with a Bathtub shower; TOILETRIES: Ver random cosmetics, better bring your own.FACILITIES:Very nice pool and a pretty decent Fitness center. Something you can never even imagine in this part of the world. So this was not just a surprise but one of the biggest plus points and super positives of this hotelSERVICE: Hospitality was one of the big areas of failures that we faced during our stay. The staff dont seem to know how to treat their customers with a SMILE, especially if they dont speak in French. They were very transactional and pretty much said no to every small request we asked them for!HOW WIRED YOU WILL BE: While you get free WIFI for upto 3 devices, the WiFI Speed is a joke and you are better off with your own Hotspot if you have one. The TV was a even bigger amusement, not because of the channels it dished out, but rather lack of them! Unless you speak french you have to depend on your stored videos on your ipAD. Very limited and poor selection of channels, esp for a luxury hotel of international standards catering to Expats and UN workers.
High food prices and air conditioning in room not working.Keeping in mind the price paid to stay here, the abovementioned should be looked at.Otherwise, great place and friendly staff!
The hotel is just the best that can be found in the city, but it needs a lot of work and the food is barely acceptable
Few years ago – was there at the wrong time. In front of the hotel parked stolen Mercedes limousines, rusty carts with MGs screwed on. The bodyguards of the president dozed in the (emptypool. The president impersonator himself in the presidential suite (2,500 dollars per night). In the lobby, men lingered with guns worn in a cowboy-style manner. Those were the ministers, as I learned later. At the same time a few very Eastern European women ran around on the marble floor
Very nice hotel. you dont expect to find it here.
Despicable!! Beautiful environment, many accomodation varieties. Good food and drinks, spacious enough to host any type of event. It sure is the best in Bangui CAR.
One of the best hotel of Bangui
This place is very expensive for what you get. Dont look too closely or else youll see a hotel in disrepair. There was mild in my bathroom and in my room. The water out of the taps is brown. You can only pay in cash and they esme it in advance like they know youll run away if you could. The outdoor pool looks nice but there are dead bugs in it. The jacuzzi is broken and when wer asked about it there was no explanation about fixing it. I couldnt find the steam room or sauna. When i asked for it they directed me to change room. The staff know little about the amenities in the hotel. The food in the restaurant is nice but very expensive. The cleanliness is poor. The table clothes are dirty and there was a dead fly on the windowsill beside our dining table.I wish the price matched what you get but they take advantage of the fact that there arent many other choices in Bangui for business travelers. The wifi was poor and slow.Dont stay here if you can avoid it.
Only one hotel with international standard in Central African Republic. Nice pool, amazing restaurant and bar.
The only Five ★ Star in Central African Republic. Food quality is good but price is comparatively high room rent is also high...
the hotel grounds are very nice, swimming pool and outside seating, rooms are nice, low on amenities and towels. food is good, all in all it was a nice experience.
Not bad. But prepapre physical cash for your bill paymemt
Unbelievably expensive. Its a comfortable and nice facility, but everything is expensive. I staility.yed here a couple of years ago, and I remember it being very loud on weekends with the pool partying etc. Food is great, and nice looking fac
Average but still the best hotel in Bangui.
Lovely people, great food and services! 4 put of 5 stars because wifi did not work properly for what I needed and the hotel failed to solve it. I defenitely want to come back. Thank you for all.
Very nice hotel . The receptionists and staff try to speak some English , buts its never like the real deal. But at least they try. You might want to use some Google translate when transacting. Generally a very nice place if you find yourself in Bangui. But can be expensive.
It is the best that Bangui has to offer. But a four star hotel at best
I cant imagine...there is a luxury hotel at Bangui
Good environment business and confeence confernce facilties. Pricy but probably linked to risky country situation
This is a cash only place and you pay in advance and at around $350 USD a nite you need to have a lot of cash on you which is not advisable. This place caters to the UN and aid folks who already have accounts set up.If you are going to stay awhile check payment options in advance - perhaps wiring the cash or some other arrangement. Just do nor expect to use any credit or debit card, and I could not find a way to actually book online. And by the way, they do have a cash machine there for debit card use but it was not working and learned that is often the case. However it is a beautiful hotel with excellent security and clean
As good as you can expect from Bangui. This place has Wi-Fi that works and beer by the pool. The rooms are good and the beds were comfortable. The only downfall was that its cash-only any you pay up front. Otherwise, better than 75% of any other hotel in western/central Africa.
The best hotel in Bangui! But expensive
Good food training rooms so comfy swimming pool all fantastic
Lovely hotel, great swimming accommodations and delicious pizza
Average but expensive. Not bad for Bangui
Probably the best hotel in bangui.expensive and certainly not friendly. Check for mosquitos in your room.
Good place to relax and have internet access.
Good hotel being rundown..have to remind the reception to remind the housekeeping to provide towels..and oh the drinking water..if you have a chance would be advisable to buy water..as the tap water is....wait for it..a color its not supposed to be..
Untrained staff, half of the menu is not available, expensive, rooms overpriced, but the only decent hotel in time, so position is abused. They dont have to care.
Not a bad place at all. Clean and pretty much safe. You will pay for it $$$ but it is worth it.
It is all that. No complains but expensive
Impressive hotel for a country that is ranked second lowest in the world for the HDI.
absolutely terrible for 5 stars. brown water straight from the tap and resoundingly expensive and breakfast aint included with 350$ room "you kidding me!"
It isnt a real five stars hotel but if you think where you are its luxury hotel. High prices for the services
Customer Service is very bad... Nobody understands English.
