Hôtel La Citadelle Metz - MGallery in Metz
Description
This was one of the best hotels at stayed at in France. It was recommended by a friend and it was an excellent recommendation. The location is close to everything you want to see in Central Metz (walking). The rooms are big and the bed is very comfortable. If you are driving there, not that Google Maps will lead to what looks like an exit. Stop there and press a button in the barrier side, the reception will open for you and there you can park for €15 per day.
MoreA very nice hotel. Rooms are spacious and very clean. Staff was very friendly during check in and check out early in the morning. With non reservable parking in front of the hotel, this hotel is just what you need when visiting Metz (a beautiful and nice townor when traveling further.Although the hotel restaurant and bar looked great, we did not use it, but next time we will.
MoreMetz a wonderful city we visit many times a year for 1 day but this time we decide to stay a little longer and booked a room at La Citadelle. Its a beautiful hotel on a very nice location just 5 min walk from city center. You can park your car in front of the hotel or at the public parking just around the corner. The reception is a simple table in the entrance where we found a lady sitting with a laptop and a payment machine. Although she was very friendly and explained hotel it was not what you would expect from a reception.Nevertheless we went up to 1st floor to our room which was spacious enough, a nice bathroom which was clean and a view on the the kitchen and smoke area for the employees. With the QR code on the room we tried to order food from the restaurant but as soon as I wanted to pay the app told me not possible as restaurant is closed, although it was only 21.30 and restaurant was open till at least 22.00. Because calling reception didnt work we went down to ask why we could not order. The answer we got was the chef was tired and closed the restaurant???!! So because he was tired we were not allowed to eat... so we were forced to get something to eat in the city. Then breakfast was ok and worth the money we paid. The coffee is really bad as it seems they have no idea how a real coffee should taste. The selection of bread is good and some nice salmon and French cheese. Conclusion a good hotel for 1 night but not to stay a weekend or longer.
