Hôtel Império in Bolama

Very good for the price. Clean, nice, good breakfast, lift, nice towels and bed linen, AC. Feels really good. Located just in front of the presidential palace, in the neighborhood of the embassies, this is as safe as it gets. You can walk in the streets at any time of day and night, and get to see the friendly locals enjoying the parks, the square, sitting on the benches or making a picnic on yhe grass, with the kids playing. The atmosphere around here is like in no other capital city i have ever been in. I love this place. People are friendly, at ease, social, you dont get harassed by beggars, its all very respectful. On the hotel, the only concerns i have are that the hot water is just barely lukewarm (I havent reported it it might be just a simple thingand that i found very small coachroaches going around. Its all very clean and neat, but if you havent been around much in hot tropical areas, you might be horrified by that sight, so, take it in account.

Only cleanliness is good.Otherwise nothing seems to be like a 4 star hotel. Breakfast hall has coffee machine out of order, no proper cutlery, the staff hardly understand English. Inspite of booking a classic room through booking.com, hotel was not providing even a complimentary bottle of water saying not included in package. Had to fight for it until they agreed.The room I checked in had broken partition wall on the bath tub. Had to change the room. Limited availability of toiletries. Even for a toilet roll we need to ask for.The room phone does not display any extention numbers or info on where to call..The reception staff is hardly on their desk.The hotel lift is out of order since I arrived. They keep saying they will fix it but until now 2 days, nothing done.There is no restaurant in hotel, they say its shut due to Covid.The electricity keeps going on and off. Its for the 4th time since morning. Time now is 1430 hrs.Only cleaning is good.No minibar.. its empty. Even the fridge is not on.No laundry bags are available.. upon asking for one, the staff brought in a black litter bag to put in dirty clothes.Overall austerity measures are being applied everywhere and customers are being charged in full. in my opinion not worth for money we pay..

Lhôtel Império est juste en face de la place qui porte le même nom. Il est aussi en face de la présidence de la République à Bissau. Il est à côté de lambassade de lEspagne à Bissau. Il est en plein centre ville de Bissau. Cest un cadre accueillant, et le personnel est professionnel. Le petit déjeuner servi est classique. Les chambres sont bien comparées au standard local.

The staff were professional and kind and very patient with us. The rooms were clean & fresh, clean towels..GREAT a/c....We also had some delicious hot Pizza from next door.Just an all around good safe space...

O Serviço de restauração de boa qualidade. Come-se bem mais o preço tambem é muito alto e também fazem sushi fresquinho

Very good location, good rooms and toilets (quite small shower box), friendly staff. Wi-fi was a nightmare, even at the hotel lobby area. Value for money is low when compared to similar hotels accross europe, but similar al over Bissau.

Plastic Comfort in a good locationWhile this hotel might be labeled as a mid-range luxury in this range, it barely would qualify for that status anywhere. But for the price you pay it is a great value for money and brings in enough comfort in this neighborhood. It is more of a Business traveller accommodation and meant for transit and short term stays. One thing that bothered me a lot was the lack of any kind of Window or view into the external spaces in most part of the building which makes you feel like you are a cage!LOCATION: Located in a great location near the presidential palace and close to some good points of interestDINE + DRINK: The Lobby ‘Bar’ is a nice area to lounge and chill with a cold one at the end of the day or before heading out for a dinner in town. The Restaurant on site is OK and breakfast offered is nothing great to write aboutROOM: I stayed in 308, so this review is based on that; VIEW:Nothing and you will feel like you are in a dark den ; SIZE: Reasonably spacious room; AIR-CON: Old, but Perfectly functioning cooler that helped in setting the perfect room temperature; BED: Comfortable bed that played the expected part to put me to sleep; BATHROOM: Stand in shower; TOILETRIES: Poor quality cosmetics, Bring your own!FACILITIES:Be prepared to get into a pure African chill-out mode! No gym or Pool on siteSERVICE: Friendly staff that took care of all my needs with a smile, especially the front desk guy who checked us in very late in the night and Kept the lobby bar open for us as long as we wanted to stay up!HOW WIRED YOU WILL BE: Free Wi-Fi that works well all in and around the reception. Very friendly staff, good breakfast. Avoid the small rooms w/o any window. Try to get a room above 2nd floor with view to the Presidential Palace.

Good hotel, although the architecture produced some rooms with no natural day light, the place is located in central Bissau, in front of presidential palace and main city centre monument. If new in town, then its the place to go as far as accomodation and security.

The restaurant is often crowded and in a good location, but the food is abysmal. "Pizza" tastes like ketchup on a tortilla. Go downhill and across the street two blocks and there is a good sidewalk restaurant in the evening with good grilled fish.

Hotels rooms not bad but internet very slow. I said internet problem anybody ignored me. I buy a local sim card with access to the internet.Breakfast is not enough and staff no use gloves. They touch bread and cake without gloves. It was disgusting.
