Location and staff and service was excellent the rooftop restaurant was super the breakfast was super
They put curtain cover as blankets.
Wonderful hotel experience, great and friendly staff.Superb breakfast choices and array of foods for multiple pallets. Reception staff very helpful and offered useful tips and advice. We will recommend this hotel to our friends and hope to return soon.
We stayed here for one night and it exceeded all of our expectations! The rooms were clean and hygienic! The staff were inviting and helped us with our rooms and to access the gym! The breakfast buffet had so many choices and many dietary options for everyone! Thank you!
Its a lovely place to stay - right in the centre of Bergamo, within walking distance to almost everything in town and to a funicular going to the old city. Its fairly priced, but feels and looks quite expensive. Breakfast is good, rooms are clean. Air conditioner does a great job in 40°C heat, everything is in perfect working order. I would come here again and recommend this hotel.
Excellent in every respect. Breakfast was cold one day. Did not have skimmed milk. Thanks
Lovely hotel in a great location for the funicular to Citta Alta. Nice modern reception and very friendly staff. Rooms a bit dated but perfectly fine - nice sheets and a good bed. Bonus to have a balcony with lovely views.
Very pleasant experience from start to finish, a simple greeting and I was given the key after showing my passport. No hostile credit card pre auths etc, checked out with zero hassle and had the smoothest experience ever in a hotel asking for a document to be printed. Professional, efficient and polite.
Business hotel in the downtown, convenient for late checkin, fare breakfast and non-intrusive service
The breakfast was very good and with a large variety the breakfast personnel very nice, friendly and helpful. Reception and porter were also very helpful and polite. It was a very good experience
Hotel San Marco is the classical hotel in Bergamo. For the past twenty years I have always stayed in San Marco during the visit to the area. Latest visit was in end of April 2022 and the style and service are still unchanged. Rooms are clean, breakfast is good and the service is friendly. There is no reason to make another choice of hotel when visiting Bergamo. If you arrive by train the hotel can be reached by walking.
Amazing place and great restaurant at the top!
Bit tired and worn rooms. The staff are very helpful and friendly
A solid option in Bergamo. They currently have a 5% coupon on their website. Right between station and Citta Alta.
Not worth the price. The location is perfect, but the hotel interior is really old. The pillows are really uncomfortable and you can hear everything from the rooms around yours. The breakfast gives a large selection but the quality of the products is not great. There are better hotels in Bergamo for less money.
A very strong 4🌟 for very good service, very clean hotel, parking in front, very nice rooms with balcony facing the square👍🏼 Breakfast food was not so good and the rooftop restaurant was below expectations, especially for the price level.
Great place, warm, clean, well staffed. Great location
This Hotel as every thing you need here in Bergamo ..wonderful 4 th year now xx
Very good hotel and comfortable in the center of town..Love it
Staff service was amazing, everyone really friendly and helpful! The hotel was sooooo clean, everything from the room, bathroom, corridors, reception - this might be the cleanest hotel I have ever been to. The bed is comfy as well, and breakfast excellent, with a decent variety of choices for every taste. Then finally the location is also great, really close to the airport and the Bergamo old city, which is beautiful.
Central but so so so oldI dont remember saw such old funriture in any of my tripsWay to expensive for one old hotel, whit bad furniture, whit a heavy key(im not joking)Plus such a bad view, the hotel is huge,im 100% dont was full booked but still they decide give us the worst view, maybe as a punishment for pick themBad breakfast, lovely terase but 1000 type of wine and 10 type of food,i literrally eat just mozarellaWhen u have 4 stars and those prices maybe u need invest some back,no just try fool pplPs :wanted offer 2 stars, but because i receve that room whit that bad view when in hotel was so low ppl i will give just 1(that atit say a lot how much they respect their clients)
Great location, very clean, decent breakfast buffet, some street noise but overall very pleasant stay.
Really very clean and very very friendly staff, super helpful. Garage for guests is practical.
A great deal in town! Our hotel room had a great view of the old city on the hill. A nice, quiet place to relax and take in beautiful Bergamo. Comfortable bed, great water pressure in the shower, nice, big room with a balcony. Breakfast was great and we sat on the terrace overlooking the plaza. Highly recommend!
The first day the receptionist gave us a room with a very disappointing view ( while others with better views were available ?We asked for another room and they changed it for the next day who was much better and well cleaned. The halls carpet looks so dirty , it’s maybe the time to change it !The breakfast is full with supermarket low cost products 👎🏻The waiters are well trained and politeThe hotel restaurant upstairs is good
Well situated between the old and new town .Very close to the Funicular.Great breakfast.Clean, but old feel vibes.Roof top available
Great location (ca. 200 meters from Funiculare), own parking slot at 15 EUR per night, friendly reception, superb restaurant on the top with panoramic view of Bergamos citta alta. The room could be bigger, the bathroom needs renovation.
Great location, close to the Citta Alta and the shopping area nearby. The rooms are alright, but they show their age. Rooms were clean, staff was friendly and nice. Nice stay overall.
A good experience! I rated a 4, because of ironing facilities. There is a service but its costly!Staff pleasant and helpful.Good breakfast.
Nice hotel. A little dated. Great location between the train station, the old town and the new town.
A great hotel with a convenient location, however in August no access to a swimming pool.Tasty breakfasts on the balcony and an excellent restaurant with a fabulous view of Citta Alta.
Hotel was great location in Bergamo. Would stay again. Breakfast has great view of old town. Parking cost money but that is everywhere close to old town in Europe. Staff was nice and welcoming.
Nice entrance / lobby let down by disappointing room. Also far too hot and not possible to adjust climate control. Ive seen cleaner bathrooms too 🤔
Great location to stay in Bergamo. Rooms are well provisioned. Nearby to the old city. Excellent food in the Garden Restaurant (need to book in advance as its very popular).
We stayed next door at Bergamo Inn (unaffiliated with San Marco). We had a really difficult time trying to organise a taxi during the wee hours of the morning and the taxi company didnt speak English. The gentleman at the reception here (at Hotel San Marcowas super helpful and got us a cab. Really appreciative and definitely going to stay at San marco during out next visit given the exemplary service.
Clean comfortable and we had a great view of the old town, typically Italian with big heavy furniture, acres of marble and expensive parking.Overall we had a good time, close to town for quick access, good breakfast and a quite comfortable room.Staff pleasant and helpful, everything was done as we asked.Parking limited and in my mind expensive at 15 euro a night.Restaurant on the roof is expensive and not local, too many foams and jues for me so we didnt use it.If you want to stay in Bergamo for a reasonable price with a bit of comfort and good access to trains etc then you cant go wrong.
Good hotel and great location to get to the old town. Helpful front desk, nice enough rooms if a little outdated. Minus one star for the extremely grumpy breakfast waiter who seemed to think it was our fault that he hadn’t set up in time.
The hotel is good. Has a Michelin rated rooftop restaurant. However, hotel guests cannot access the rooftop for a drink or coffee which is a real pity.
Perfect location if you want to go to the old city on the hill, also nearby the shopping street. The breakfast is tremendous, but the rooms are dated
Excellent business hotel in a convenient location. Rooms are comfy and well furnished - not too stylish, but get the job done. Service is extremely polite and available, the real plus
Stayd here only one night, good beds, very large. Not much noise from the streets, slept on the second floor. The breakfast was good and there was much to choose from.
I really enjoyed my stay at the San Marco. It is very centrally located in the city at the base of Città Alta. Wonderful view from the Rooftop restaurant. The people there are super nice and really helpful.
Clean rooms, maybe a bit on the small side compared to other European countries. Nevertheless lots of character. Good espresso and plenty of variety on the breakfast menu. Tip: you have to boil your owm egg unless you are more on raw proteins. 😂
Its not the first time I visit Hotel San Marco, this time I went with some friends for an aperitivo before a movie screening at the nearby theatre. The service was prompt and without particular mishaps and I will surely visit again.
Nice spacious hotel. Surface car parking in front (15 euro per nightNice well appointed rooms. Didnt have chance to try the roof top restaurant but looked nice with stunning views. Good breakfast. Friendly staff.
The hotel is extremely well-built and thought through. It has luxury features and makes you feel at home. It would have been a 5star review but the car parking situation makes it lose the star.
Two of the front desk agents were extremely rude/brief/unwelcoming to me.Before checkout, I asked the front desk if they changed dollars to euros. The agent told me they didnt, then said "but you arent a guest." I told him I was, gave him my room number then he asked me how much I wanted to change. It seemed like he didnt like either the color of my skin or how I was dressed. All other staff (waiters, housekeeperswere friendly and nice. I would never recommend this place to anyone.
My husband´s laptop was stolen from his room while he was at the restaurant. When he came back to the room the door was open. Hotel didn´t take any responsability and didn´t want to help with video cameras, so the thinking is that this is a common practice at this Hotel, to monitor who leaves the room and enter to stole. Do not go to that Hotel, is AWFUL in ALL senses
Hotel was nice. Room was a bit dated even with a free upgrade to a superior suite. Our view was of a flat roof and other building which was a real shame as there are potentially beautiful views of the old town from rooms at the front side of the hotel. The rooftop area is also only open after 5pm and only if you wish do dine. No Aperitivo options or evening drinks over looking the city and cittia alta. Overall a huge let down for what was advertised. We basically spent as much time as possible outside of our hotel. For food and drinks. This hotel works well simple as a room to sleep in.
Nicely situated close to some good restaurants and for a visit to the old city via the funicular railway. Good breakfast - just watch out for the wasps in warms weather.
