Hotel El Faro in Mayagueez

Had the worst experience. I won’t stay there again or recommend nobody to stay at El Faro. On a rainy day my room got flooded, and that wasn’t the worst part. The hotel staff didn’t even matter to make my stay better, after that. Not even an empathic, I’m sorry for the inconvenience. They didn’t even care. In the middle of the night on a rainy day I was moving to another room. I had to stay a couple of more days and nobody from staff or hotel manager showed any concern of what happened. A flooded hotel room in the middle of the night is an awful thing to happen, but what is worst and sad is seeing the indifference of the hotel staff. I have more details to share, but I’ll leave it here.

Nice hotel, well kept.Rooms are a little on the dark side, they would benefit from an extra lamp or two, especially where the safe is.The pools are nice and clean.Depending on where you need/want to be location can be convenient or not.Its far away from Aguadilla proper that you are not bothered and the area is growing with more and more services.Ideal for a tranquil/family/professional stay.

I consider the rooms too dark at night. There was one day at the stay that they didnt do the housekeeping. Seems they are understaffed. But in general, the location and the experience is good.

Overall, the hotel is very clean. Loved the spacious room and bathroom. The bed and pillows are comfortable. They provide plenty of shower gel, lotion, shampoo and conditioner. The food at the restaurant is very good. Staff is excellent!

Great No frills hotel near great beaches ... very well kept, clean and secluded ... the restaurant open on weekends only, But there is ample places to just across 107. Ramey base us just down the street ... I was surprised ... the only thing was not having a room fridge, but not a deal breaker. Clean pools and very quiet, sun screen a most .... comfortable bed/ bone chilling A/C ... enjoy

This hotel is located in a convenient location. Just a few minutes from the hotel with lots of stores and restaurants near by.The front desk check in woman was too busy listening to here music with her airbuds on to say hello or give any kind of greeting. The check in was fast . Our room was located right next to the lobby. The room itself was clean and had some updates. What is was missing was lighting. It was very dark. In order to have any lighting, we had open the shade of the window facing the parking lot. Which means we had to show the world our business. The hotel does have a nice pool which is located right near our room! It was very quiet and peaceful!

Perfect hotel. Its no frills and very basic. The staff is friendly. The grounds are well kept. Ample parking day night. What makes it perfect is...youre 5 minutes from downtown. 5 minutes from survival Beach. 2 minutes from famed crash boat beach. Walking distance to many bars and restaurants. The rooms are clean and well maintained.

I really enjoyed this hotel. It feels like youre off the beaten path but its right next to one of the best places in all of Puerto Rico. It has a lovely layout and the rooms are nice. The staff was cool too. When I get a chance Ill post videos and pictures.

This was a very nice stay on our visit around the island. Definitely not fancy but rooms are great. Comfortable beds, clean, nice room, bathroom supplied with nice products…the staff is super friendly and helpful. Pool is small but pretty.The night we stayed the pool was full of loud kids so we didn’t go in. I guess there’s a restaurant bar but because we are here on President’s holiday wknd it is closed till Wednesday which is disappointing, but the front desk assistant recommended a nice restaurant less than a mile up route 107.We were pleased with our stay and recommend for its pricing, friendliness of staff and comfort of rooms.

Very nice hotel. Two pools, nice clean rooms, comfy beds, fast internet.

Amazing, Phenomenal. Love it. The front desk did a great job with me. The pool is beautiful. The rooms are very clean and organized. I only stay for 3 days because of my mom. pass away, but definitely, I will go again with my family to stay more time. I was there when I was 18 years old for my honeymoon and I am 46 years now of course without her 🤣. But everything looks so different but very nice . The only I suggest is that they need to have a big bright sign outside so people when they come, can see where is located the Hotel. But after that, I recommend to any person like to stay relaxed or for vacation. GOD Bless you all and everyones family.Mr.Albert Benejan

Loved that it close to Crash Boat Beach.Price was good 2 swimming pools, a resturant at the hotel, very clean too. Laundry room . Our room included a king size bed super comfy coffee maker and refrigerator.Plenty of parking too.

I am confused by some of the negative reviews, but it seems most were written awhile ago so maybe improvements have been made since they were written. My boyfriend and I had an absolutely wonderful stay! The staff are taking many precautions to ensure cleanliness and safety during these ongoing COVID times. Mask-wearing compliance was excellent, temperature checks at the security gate at check-in and every time you enter the restaurant, hand sanitizer always available, and our room was so nice and clean. The bed and the sheets were super comfortable too. The shower was really nice (you just have to give the water a few minutes to heat up but there IS hot water!!). They give you plenty of towels, which is great for showering and being able to take towels out to the pool. We only stayed for two nights but they still offered to clean our room each day. The AC unit was awesome... as an American, I am very accustomed to AC so that was a big advantage for me. The pool is beautiful and we spent lots of time there. We ordered a few drinks during our stay and they were generous with the amount of alcohol they added, which is always appreciated. The restaurant was nice too, although I will say that we got tired of the menu by the end. Fish is probably the best option when you are at the beach, and I love fish, but even I got tired of eating so much fish at the end. It would be nice to have more vegetarian options (other than saladbut I know there may not be as many vegetarians in Guate compared to U.S. The mosquitos are TERRIBLE, especially at nightfall, and ate us alive during dinner the first night (they were so bad that we ate in our room the second night). For the love of God, bring bug repellant with you (or if you dont have it, you can buy it there in the lobby). Overall, a bit pricey, but worth it. Would definitely come back.

Really clean, really good service, and very family oriented. Overall a great experience! Will come and stay again! I highly recommend it.
