Hrafnagilsstræti V, 600 Akureyri, Iceland, Akureyri
This casual, seasonal hotel is an 8-minute walk from the famous Church of Akureyri, and 6 km from hiking, biking and fishing in the scenic Kjarnaskógur nature reserve.Modern rooms include flat-screen TVs and in-room sinks, as well as shared bathrooms. There's no Wi-Fi. Upgraded rooms have en suite bathrooms. Some rooms add extra beds, work desks and sitting areas. There's a laid-back buffet restaurant offering breakfast and dinner.
Colazione a buffet ricca.
We had a nice view from the hotel. Breakfast is included, clean rooms, and really good service.
The second we got here, the reception took 30 minutes to check us in, and also didn’t help us do so when we got there, but ran off to do something else, and then came back. When we got to our rooms, it was not clean, there were glasses of water still there by the window, and flies EVERYWHERE. It makes me question their cleanliness, and also the bathrooms are not very clean at all!
This hotel is a combination of hostel type rooms and full hotel rooms. Hotel rooms have bathrooms. Hostel rooms share bathrooms and showers. Shared bathrooms and showers are all private units in a common area. You shower in private. Rooms and bathrooms are all very clean. Breakfast buffet has wide variety of bread, meat, cereals and fresh fruits. Right next to Botanical garden and hospital
Fantastisk hotell. Sköna sängar. Nära till Centrum. Kvällsbuffen var underbar. Fin stad.
¡No vengáis!
A good use of space in the summer season. These are dorm rooms during the school year and everything was very clean. Close to main town. Breakfast spread was great in the morning. Offers to do your laundry for a very inexpensive price. Wifi worked well, no complaints. Very large rooms.
Excelente y limpio.
When I booked this hotel, I read not very good things for it and I was afraid. But in reality everything was good! The romm was clean, spacious, elegant, with sea- view. The staf was original, and if you wanted something they did it. The only strange thing is that the room is without tv.
Big hotel, somewhat impersonal. Breakfast was ok.
Unterirdisch!
Sehr schlecht!
We had room with shared bathroom. I think price / quality is far from good. That room should cost 60-80 euros less. It’s really noisy, very weak sound insulation. Woke up 1-2 am when partygoers come back, smashing doors, loud noises, some bell ringed two times during the night (probably school facilities). Breakfast room super crowded before 8. Mediocre quality. No warm dishes except make your own waffle.
Worn, old rooms. Long queues when breakfast starts. Far from the center.
A vary nice hotel, and sevice. Please note that some of the rooms are having sherd toalets / showers
We stayed in two Edda Hotels: This one and the one in Egilstadir. I liked the other one more. It just felt a bit "cold" nothing special but OK to spend the night. It was very crowdy at the breakfast buffet though. That was kinda annoying.
An international large & luxurious hotel. Nice position for walks & exploration of the town.
All ok. Good location, large parking, spacious rooms, fine breakfast. The only disadvantage is the entrance. As probably most of tourists discovered, G Maps shows the hotel at the other side where is no entrance :).This is rather G Maps problem not Hotel Edda, will you agree? ;)
Fair. Good price/quality
Not a fan of the fact that the hotel doesn’t have any elevators. We got a room on the 3rd floor and it wasn’t pleasant to carry everything up ourselves. The rooms are quite poorly decorated - no design whatsoever. The washrooms/shower are for the floor but are pretty clean.
The staff were very responsive to our concerns; we first got a room in which none of our devices would ever connect to wifi, and they promptly moved us to a different one that was much better. That was very kind of them. The rooms were clean, the restaurant is quite good. The shared washrooms seemed a little dated and could do with some upgrading; some showers had very poor water pressure, and others were cold until you were almost done showering.
Excellent hotel, rooms plenty of space and wonderful buffet
Nice
Lovely place. Like student accommodation but modernised and beautifully clean. Breakfast excellent
Travelling as a group meant logistics can be challenging but checking in and out of Hotel Edda was easy. THe rooms were spacious, albeit spartan but we dont need much. Rooms warm, bedding comfortable, if only the blinds would block out the 24 hour daylight that wouldve been nice. The bathrooms are at the end of the hall and are multi sex so take that into account if youre a little unsure. THey are spacious and again, pretty basic but does the job.Staff are extremely friendly. Breakfast was brilliant with everything you could possibly want.Location is easy into Akureyri with a ten minute walk downhill amongst the shops and the waterways.Being on the top of the hill you do get some lovely views of Akureyri. Would highly recommend
Perfect
Sticky floors. Breakfast until 9 . They dont replace used towels.
Large rooms. Food average. Poor wine selection.
2 star student home converted into Hotel for summertime at 5 star price. Its a shame to ask so much money for such a place. No signs outside to identify the building as a Hotel. Very hard to find.
Nice hotel with lovely staff and exceptionally good kitchen. Dinner menu was fantastic, breakfast was standard but still wider than in other hotels on Iceland. The only.minor downside are shared bathrooms.
A pretty nice hotel for a few nights stay. The rooms are ok and you will have a shared bathroom, which draws down the visit to the hotel.
Very large and crowded. It seems that the rooms serve as students housing some time during the year - so the inner furniture setup is a bit strange for a hotel. There is no soap or shampoo in the rooms.
Its OK - clean and nice staff. But dont expect too much.
The hotel is used as a college dormatory during the school year. During the summer it serves as a hotel. So, the room is basically a dorm facility, e.g. 2 twin beds, closets, desks, desk chairs, no sofa, lounge chair, etc. The room was clean and functional. The breakfast buffet was good with a variety of food choices. The dinner buffet was superb-ranks equal to many and better than most. A hair dryer was available to be borrowed from the front desk, but no wash cloths were available. The towels were thin-not plush. The location is convenient for a walk into the heart of town. In summary the facility was clean with basic service and good food, but dont arrive expecting luxurious accommodations.
Nice large room, excellent breakfast
Very nice!
Overpriced for a room with shared bathroom in hostel style but comfortable beds, lots of storage space and a wash basin. Breakfast good but dining room too crowded
Clean room, just public bathroom was stupid, but also clean (there missing doors and unisex toilets/showers can be for lots of people problematic)
Good convenient and cheap hotel in the middle of town. We rented a room with a shared bathroom down the hall. Everything was clean and it wasnt overly crowded. Good in a pinch
Very friendly staff, nice breakfast (especially waffle), big enough room, comfortable bed (but single beds), shared toilet and shower was more than enough, internet was fast and without problem, location is good (5 minutes walk to the center and is near the swimming pool).
very clean and comfortable, fast Wi-Fi, and close to downtown. the man at the desk was pleasant enough but gave us very little information about the hotel or area when we checked in so it was a surprise to us that we were in rooms with communal bathrooms. if we had known we may have slept in the hostel instead at a third of the cost.
Good hotel for Iceland.
