Hotel E Velasco in Matanzas

Not a good experience. Tried to place us in “sister” hotel Le Louvre b/c of big tour group stating there. Placed my parents in an upgraded room which was a nice gesture and much appreciated. So credit where credit is due. Our room was a dungeon. Tiny, no windows, A/C leaked and made a giant puddle of water on floor, bathroom was gross. Really not suitable for any paying customers. Also overcharged my parents for a wifi card. I paid $1 CUC for a 1 hr card. The next day they charged my mom $2 CUC for same amount. The lobby is absolutely gorgeous, it’s just a shame about the negative points. They really distract from the positives 😞 Stayed in Feb 2020.

Mayo del 2022, 75 euros habitación con desayuno, osea caro. El desayuno un desastre, 1 huevo, 1 rodaja de pan, 1 zumo, 1 cafe enano y 3 rajitas de mango. No pidas otra cosa porque no la hay, no pidas más, porque no lo hay. En el bar del hotel solo había ron para beber y botellas pequeñas de agua.

Lo mejor fue la recepciòn.La amable y profecional recepcionista Madian es 5 estrellas .Servicio gastronómico ràpido y agitado y de miy poca sonrisa .Todas las estrellàs a MADIAN.

Ik ben een maand in het hotel geweest. Het personeel is heel vriendelijk. Het is een mooi authentiek hotel. Centraal gelegen. Ik heb goede ervaringen en hoop er gauw nog eens terug te komen. Heel betaalbaar,

Zentral gelegen und architektonisch interessant, lädt dieses Hotel mit seinen sehr kleinen und eher funktional ausgestatteten Zimmern, geradezu dazu ein, nach dem Abladen des Gepäcks direkt die belebte Umgebung zu erkunden.Alternativ wird man jedoch auch zu angemessenen Preisen mit Speis und Trank im Restaurant und an der Bar versorgt.Das zumeist freundliche Personal rundet das Gesamtpaket ab.

Excelente renovaciones en la sección del lobby, aún continua siendo uno de mis lugares favoritos para beber una cerveza fría y fumar un cigarro.

Wunderschönes Hotel im Stil der Spätrenaissance. Historisches, gepflegtes Ambiente, sehr netter Service und sehr gute Küche /Bar. Einfach eine Freude, sich hier aufzuhalten, bei einem leichten Lüftchen auf den großen Sofas richtig guten Kaffee zu genießen und das Treiben auf der Straße und Hause zu beobachten. Die Zimmer sind klein und nur zum Schlafen und Umziehen gedacht - man hält sich mondän auf den öffentlichen Plätzen des Hotekscauf, sei auf der Terrasse, im großen, offenen Vorraum, dem Café oder dem Restaurant. Eine Attraktion sind die hunderte von Vögeln, die aus allen Richtungen zur Dämmerung auf den zentralen Platz vor dem Hotel strömen, um über ihre Plätze für die Nachtruhe lautstark zu verhandeln. Wunderschön 😀

Beautiful boutique hotel overlooking Maranzas central square. Excellent coffee in lobby restaurant also.

Although part of, and run by a state chain, this hotel stands out from the others I had stayed in. Very helpful and friendly reception staff were there to greet and to give genuine help. The other staff were equally friendly. We got a room that overlooked the main square. Very nice, large room with balcony, and possibly the biggest bed I have ever encountered. Highly recommended.

This is not just a hotel but its a great hang out when visiting Matanzas. Best elite coffee and pastries in town. Food is great too. Fair prices.

Perfect location, super service , fantastic colonial style, though a bit dusty

We visited three times in two day. the coffee and mojitos are delicious. the dinner was very good and the price was not expensive. we also enjoyed a huge breakfast. the staff was very friendly

L’hôtel est correct et très bien situé mais pour moi ce n’est pas à la hauteur d’un hôtel 4 étoiles.Le personnel est sympathique et très réactif.Quant au restaurant, je n’ai pas apprécié les repas. Il n’y avait qu’un seul accompagnement pour tous les repas. C’était parfois trop salé.Les boissons/cocktails sont par contre bon(nes).

Experiencia muy positiva.El personal es muy amable, siempre dispuestos a ayudar, así como dar indicaciones sobre los puntos de interés en Matanzas. El recibimiento es fantástico, con cóctel de cortesía incluido.Todo está muy limpio y la estancia resulta muy cómoda. El precio es muy competitivo e incluye desayuno y párking.La única pega, es que las habitaciones no tienen ventanas debido a los edificios colindantes. No obstante, existen zonas comunes bien iluminadas, cómodas y tranquilas, donde trabajar, leer, etc.

Charmant bar et restaurant sur le parc de la Liberté. Les décors sont des années 1920. les cocktails sont abordables et bons. Attention toutefois aux bonimenteurs que risquent de vous aborder pour vous faire visiter en échange de quelques CUC.

Great bar, competent and polite staff.

Good place to get paid WiFi, as well as the park across the street from it. You can get a mocha drink thing at their bar while watching J Alvarez music videos. Has decent lobby bathrooms. Cant comment on actual hotel rooms since I just stopped in for a drink and didnt stay there!

Ein sehenswertes Hotel. Aufwendig in den letzten Jahren renoviert. Kolonialarchitektur. Es hat hohe, verzierte Decken, Marmorsäulen und einer wunderschön entworfener Bar.

Very nice place and probably the nicest hotel in Matanzas. We did not stay overnight, but we did have lunch and dinner there on several occasions. Also stayed there for some drinks, coffee and ice cream. Good place in Matanzas as they are pretty much the only one there.

À couper le souffle, un site historique, avec décorations dorigine avec mobiliers en acajou. Lhôtel vient dêtre rénové en 2011 il ne comprend que 17 chambres, un endroit calme, propre très chic. Matanza étant une ville très touristique il nest donc pas difficile de se procurer un guide.Lhôtel est situé en face de la plaza de la Libertad sur la calle 79. Magnifique hall dentrée​, vu sur une immense escalier donnant aux chambres, juste wow... Sans parler des fabuleux ornements au plafond tout de plâtre. Réception et information en face à lentrée, à votre droite un bar tout de bois à grand miroir, une dizaine de places, très intime... On vous y servira un choix de plusieurs cocktail avec élégance. Si vous préférez être bien assis comme dans votre salon quelques fauteuils et causeuses dépoque y sont disponibles. Une salle à manger muni dun cachet exceptionnel se cache derrière le mur de la réception, vous y retrouverez plusieurs anciennes photos où vous passerez plusieurs minutes à y plonger le regard. Un must à ne pas manquer!

Hermoso edificio, al visitar la ciudad vale la pena detenerse a probar en su bar la mejor piña colada que he probado. Imperdible.
