Hotel Central Luzern in Luzern

We had a great stay at Hotel Central Luzern. We were traveling with our two young children. The staff were truly amazing. From the front desk helping with suggestions and making dinner reservations, to the housekeeping staff helping with bags and strollers anytime they saw us. Location is perfect (3 minute walk to train station and chapel bridge, also Coops that are open late). Room was clean and as advertised. Thank you to the amazing staff!

The positives for this hotel outweigh many of the comments from other reviews. The central location is ideal in visiting all of Lucernes highlights. The staff is very helpful and friendly. It is a big help when the owners are on site. They take pride in their hotel and it shows. We drove to the hotel and one staffer helped us snag a parking spot right outside the front door so we didnt have to go around the neighborhood looking for an open spot to park. It is nice that they help register your car with the Lucerne parking system. The windows do a great job of blocking out the street sounds so the rooms are very quiet. The lack of A/C can be problematic if you are visiting in the heat of summer but for us in the fall, it was not an issue. The breakfast is very good. They have other apartment facilities for longer term stays which we might consider on our next trip.

Location wise: It was great as it is near to the train station. Walking distance to the tourist attractions and shopping area.Staffs were polite, helpful and friendly.Rooms were OK in size. All necessary items are provided. Room is also cleaned nicely daily. WiFi is also fast.Breakfast is provided. Moderate choices of foods. Best so far as they even provide take away cups for drinks such as coffee, tea, etc.

We rented one of their one-bedroom apartments, and it was wonderful. Great location, and the place was very clean and well-appointed. The Nespresso machine and coffee were also a really nice touch. Would return!

My husband and I spent a Tuesday through Saturday at this hotel. Just one block from the bahnhof (train stationmade it a quick walk. We arrived around 9 AM. Our room wasnt ready, nor did we expect it to be.....but staff took our luggage, gave us room keys, oriented us to the city and amenities at the Hotel. We could return at noon for our room. From start to finish, it was a phenomenal stay. Cleam comfortable rooms, friendly helpful staff ( Brischka, Cristian, Stefan, and Sybille), an amazing breakfast spread - not your typical European Continental breakfast, but so much more, with a focus on fresh! (See photoTheir breakfast room was accommodating and served as a lounge area the rest of the day. Wines, beers, and other beverages were available for purchase. Coffees and teas available 24/7!Rooms were comfortable and very clean. Bottled sparkling water was refreshed in our room daily and included with our rooms.People here were genuinely happy to help us - with directions, recommendations for meals and outings, even posting a daily recommendation on a board for guests!We know we will return to 🇨🇭 Switzerland! It will definitely include another stay at Hotel Central in Luzern!

The rooms are a bit small and outdated -- the bathroom is tiny. However, its very close to the train station (only a 3 min walk). Also the staff is very friendly and the included breakfast is decent. Its a very good mid range priced Hotel.

Hotel Central Luzern Nice little gem close to everything. I stayed in room number 205 . Just 2 minutes by walk from Lucerne Train station. Breakfast is good from 7 -11. 24 /7 hours breakfast room available with tea & coffee facilities. Only problem with this hotel is poor WIFI Internet connection and staff dont respond if you raise any issues related to I nterner. This hotel is without Air conditioning but they do provide tower fans. Overall very good experience

Perfect location,  only 3 minutes from the train station. Room is small and cozy. I didnt like the bathtub, it only covered the half by the glass. Bathroom floor get messy after the shower. Toilet seat makes squeak noise. One of towel smelled really bad.Even with window closed, you can hear that people talking,  screaming and singing in the middle of night from outside street. Wifi is so slow you cant even use it. I brought up an attention to one of receptionist  and her response was " I know. Maybe you can go to break room to use the Wifi"... Why would I go to the break room to use the WiFi?Most of receptionists were very friendly, helpful and nice. They allowed to borrow a power adapter for free.Elevator is tiny, only fits 2 people and this elevator is very slow. I used the stairs daily.Breakfast wasnt my favorite. It was just okay to grab some bread and a coffee.Overall, not too bad. Its a small 3 star hotel with great location.

Fabulous hotel. Lovely staff. Good breakfast provided. No air conditioning in rooms so can get hot but the hotel do provide fans. Hotel also provide travel adapter as standard UK to Europe dont fit.

The hotel is clean, staff very helpful. Parking on the street but with help of the reception without any problem. Breakfast with touch of Switzerland.

Unlike many hotels in the area, this one has a Queen mattress instead of 2 twins side by side. Only 1 pillow per person.The staff are friendly, helpful and speak several languages.Breakfast is included, not super fancy but plenty to eat. Theres no in-hotel restaurant for dinner but the staff give recommendations and there are tons of restaurants within easy walking distance.No A/C but thats normal for Switzerland. They do provide an excellent fan and it cools off in the evening.The best thing about this hotel is its location. Close to the train station and the lake, plenty of activities within an easy walk.I reserve 5 star reviews for hotels that provide conditioner and lotion as its a serious inconvenience to pack them with liquid limits at airports. This one didnt include them. Their Wifi is basically unusable. It might work for a few minutes here or there but that is it.

Very tiny rooms in name of cosy. The excellent location and friendly staff make up for it. Excellent Morning breakfast with all fresh breads cheese and boiled eggs.

Everything is great except for the absence of air conditioner, which could be a problem on hot summer days.

We stayed in a small 1 bedroom apt that is adjacent to the hotel and part of the hotel. Firstly, the area is prime, very near the train/ boats/ buses but removed from the traffic and noise completely. NIce quiet street and park nearby plus lots of coffee shops, cafes and restaurants all within a 2 block radius.The apt is wonderful. SUPER clean and stocked with all kitchen supplies to cook and plates/ cups/ glasses/ utensils, everything, napkins etc....The apt is decorated so nice as if it were your own home and you didnt feel like you were sleeping in a bed or using a bathroom where others have been.The hotel staff is so so nice, Nicole, Sybille, and others helped us a lot by recommending sites and giving us directions how to go there etc....Def stay here, you will NOT regret it.. Its a fantastic place.

The hotel is excellent and you feel very welcomed at reception, as well as handwritten welcome information with a lot of documents to read about the facilities in the hotel and Lucerne in general.Reception was always willing to go the extra mile to provide assistance.The breakfast provided was great.The only downside is that there is a lack of ventilation in the rooms since there is no aircon. This means having your window opened which can lead to disturbances to your sleep if there are loud noises or music being played outside.

Good hotel and nice staff. Only issue we had was that the front desk person can get overwhelmed because they are responsible for everything. It made check-in/check-out longer than necessary. With that being said, Id recommend this place. Breakfast was really good and its in a great location

We stayed at neustadt apartment managed by the hotel . It was amazing . We were a family of four . Very nice service . Staff was very helpful . Centrally located . The Apartment was very modern and spacious. It is centrally located .

The hotel overall is good. Unfortunately the WiFi connection was poor in our room 203. We asked if we could change the room but it was not possible. Breakfast was ok.

Excellent location, but rooms were a bit smaller and older than I had imagined. No AC.

Poor customer service. I had to cancel my stay unfortunately due to COVID.. I bought the insurance to avoid a fee for late cancel but due to confusion from the app in which I booked I accidentally cancelled my insurance instead of the booking. I immediately tried to contact them and show record of my insurance but they did not care at all and gave no courtesy. I lost almost a thousand dollars Bc of a really silly error and COVID and they weren’t human enough to consider that. Don’t stay here in case you make a slight mistake or get ill You’ll lose out. Very unfortunate.

We had a wonderful two night stay in Luzern. Our hosts were very helpful and provided wonderful recommendations for things to do and places to stay. Our room was very comfortable with a little balcony. There was some construction on the street right outside, but the rooms were so well sound-proofed that we didn’t hear a single thing! The location of the hotel is wonderful. Luzern is a small town, so you really can’t go wrong with location, but we were a short five minute walk to the main walking/dining area as well as the train station.

The hotel is clean and comfy, near to old town and other tourism sites. The owner is also very friendly!

I’ve been traveling in Europe for 6 weeks and this was the worst hotel I’ve come across. I felt this hotel was very misleading. The rooms looked bright and modern in their ads (they must have brought bright lights and good cameras inbut once we got there our room was dark, small with a tiny bathroom, no a/c and bad Wi-Fi. We felt lied to as it was nothing like the photos. We actually checked out shortly after we arrived as we were so disappointed and went a block down the street and checked in to a much nicer place for roughly the same cost. I’m still trying to get some sort of refund as I’m out a 3 nights stay and the owners are refusing to give me any money back. Bad business practice in my opinion. Steer clear of this place.

Nice placed, very closely located from Railways and other attractions. If any issues, talk to owners directly. Wonderful people ❤️.

Great service from the hotel staff especially the manager at check-in. She was most pleasent and helpful. Room was sparkling clean and comfortable, and buffet breakfast was great. Near to railway station.

The staff was friendly, helpful and cheerful. Its a clean and cozy place. Breakfast was great with a variety of breads, nuts and hot drinks. Kitchen staff was very friendly. We booked a family room for 3 however it was not a pleasant experience with regard to the room. The 2nd bed in our room was a make shift one and was noisy. Overall it was a pleasant experience. We received vouchers for the local travel which was Great! The location is awesome as it is close to the train and bus station as well as the harbour. Restaurants are at walkable distance. At the reception all possible information is received regarding sight seeing and travel. The staff makes the stay very pleasant.

I stayed in this hotel for 2 nights in December. It was a pleasant stay. Breakfast was simple but nice and very filling. The receptionist when I checked in was very nice and made me feel immediately welcomed. The room was a single room and was very well set-up - not cramped at all. Received a free transport card which I didn’t get to use as I already had a 14 day Swiss travel card but it’s certainly a nice touch. All in all, would recommend a stay here.

Very clean and comfortable rooms. The breakfast is great. The location is perfect - very close to the train station and a quick walk to old Luzern. The front desk staff was lovely and very helpful.

Fairly basic hotel but great location and excellent service. The self serve breakfast was good and the staff helpful.

Best location, best service, well manicured and cozy room and facilities.Awesome breakfast.Everyone works there was so kind!!!There is also a park with playground right behind the building and so good for families with kids.Love how they open the kitchen for 24 hour coffee service. (Because Ive experienced a lof of coffee machines in your room that are not clean)

Good place overall. Quality vs price is very good. You have to found a parking place if you come by car. You can buy a parking ticket for only 18 per day at hotel, but still need to find a place. We did it and where lucky to found a place nearby. Excellent breakfast.

Wonderful hosts. Walking distance to the sights and the train station and bus stops. Croissants and coffee available all day for a lovely mid day break. Awesome breakfast buffet.

A simple modern European hotel good for very short stay in luzern the staff friendly and rooms size I can say small they do serve breakfast and also afternoon the place can be a lounge coffee and tea, there is only one thing annoying in the hotel which is there no a good isolation between rooms so easy you. Can hear others in their own room kind of annoying during night sleeping.The thing I like most location is near by old city and few mints you can reach SBB train station.

So impressed by Hotel Central Luzern. Communication from the start was clear and helpful. The location was so great, a very short walk from the train/bus station and easy for exploring Luzern. The attitude of all staff members really made you feel as if you were a guest in someones home. The room was immaculate, as was the rest of the hotel. We really enjoyed the breakfast and felt that being included in the room price made it extremely good value. Thank you Hotel Central Luzern for a wonderful stay, we look forward to returning. Highly recommended.

Came here for 2 nights in Switzerland with sole purpose of going up mt titlis and wow what a place. Very close to the train station and many eateries. The staff were so friendly and helpful for everything. Only 2 downsides was we came in end of May while the weather was still warming up but the central heating was switched off but their bedding was warm enough. Secondly the room we had didnt have very good wifi reception but I guess it all depends on the room you get. The breakfast is very filling and of variety which kept us going everyday till lunch. The room itself was very clean and spacious. If you are looking for your home away from home in this beautiful town, look no further!

I really enjoyed it. Staff really helpful and kind. The hotel is well located, near to shops, train station, loads of restaurants. The room is really nice and clean. Nice bed, linen, big tv, full bathroom. The breakfast is simple but nice. Free coffee and tea all day. They give you a voucher to use the bus and tram for free. I really would return.

This is a really cute place but after a couple of nights here I wouldnt recommend this place for a couple of reasons. You shouldnt consider this place if:1. youre a light sleeper. If you have a noisy neighbour upstairs, you can hear every footstep and every movement of furniture (bed, chairsloud and clear.2. need to take early showers. the heated water is turned off for some reason early morning. Imagine taking an icy cold shower when the temp outside is 1-2 degree c. and also the water temp fluctuates at other times. it goes from warm to cold to super hot halfway through your shower.3. need any help outside office hours. there is no phone to call in the room. there is no one at the reception outside normal office hours. and there is no emergency number whatsoever to call either. so if you stay here, dont get yourself locked out on a late night or try checking out at 6am, coz youll be on your own!

Really nice comfortable hotel which was quite clean and our room was very comfortable. Its. 2 minute walk from the railway station, and that was quite nice that we didnt have to drag our heavy bags very far. The hotel has a lounge we can use for tea coffee or to eat a takeaway meal which was nice as the room didnt have a kettle or any tea cups. The staff was very friendly and helped us with suggestions. The breakfast is continental and is slightly lacking with just basic croissants, hams cheese and cereal. But they had a nice coffee machine and the staff was able to get me some gluten free bread on request. Would definitely come back!

Recently renovated, this perfectly functional little hotel has warm and efficient staff and a fairly good breakfast spread. Wonderful location less than 2 minutes from the train station and the same distance from Chapel Bridge. Breakfast room open for complimentary tea, coffee, croissants, and fruit all day and other beverages, including beer and prosecco, available for purchase. Excellent value as well.

We stayed here for three nights and really enjoyed the hotel. The staff were super friendly, the rooms were clean (although on the smaller side), and the location close to the train and the bridges can’t be beat. We were lucky enough to have a balcony and enjoyed relaxing out there in the mornings and evenings. Breakfast was fantastic and we were even able to eat our own lunch in the breakfast room after we checked out. My only minor complaints were that there was no mini fridge in the room and that the walls were a bit thin.

I really enjoyed staying here. The price is reasonable, location is close to all places (including the train station and the bridge), and the hotel staff were extremely friendly. The breakfast was also quite good, with local cheese and good bread (in addition to a selection of salad and other items). They also have an espresso machine that is available 24 hours a day.

Outstanding establishment! Staff was very professional, friendly, and had great recommendations for days trips like hiking or boating adventures. Clean and well maintained rooms. Would recommend this hotel. Will definitely stay here again!

Got to check in early after arriving by train from Germany. Clerk was very nice and helpful, also giving us tourist card (I believe given by city to all guests through their hotelswhich gave us free bus rides and city wifi access. Room was clean, spacious by European standards, and modern. No A/C, but this is Europe. Beds were very comfortable, even the pull-out sofa. Hotel is very conveniently located. Breakfast included many fresh options (meats, cheeses, breads, cereals, fruit/veggies, etc.w/ coffee/tea and croissants available round-the-clock. Enjoyed our stay immensely.

I really like this hotel! The room is modern and the slanted roof made for a unique and memorable experience. The staff has been great, taking care of every need. Its close to transportation but just far enough away to that the city sounds are not distracting. This the first hotel Ive stayed in that I know I want to rebook when I return. Try it, I bet youll like it too.

Really nice hotel very close to the central train station. Staff is very nice and helpful. Rooms are comfortable and recently renovated. Good breakfast and excellent coffee that is available 24/7. Free bus passes are included which is really handy. Could not have asked for a better location. Would definitely recommend.

Fantastic hotel; the staff and the owner are very helpful and nice to chat with, the hotel is centrally located with everything you need or want to visit just a stroll away, the price/quality ratio is outstanding and the building with all the rooms, the small lounge and the breakfast room is recently renovated and very clean. Im glad we stayed here for a few nights.

Modern rooms, clean and well maintained. Very gracious hosts who made us feel welcomed! Ideal location just adjacent to the train station and short walk to the Chapel bridge. Highly recommended!
