Hotel Bolivar in San Juan

They try to charge $20 a day for ac after the first day. I’m seeing he tried to rip people off a couple months ago with $10 which is still ridiculous and somehow the price increased. The listing is on Airbnb and says it includes a/c. No where does it say you need to pay for it. Get better business skills and include that in the price of the Airbnb. He’s rude and money hungry. He made my friend feel very uncomfortable because of how rude and greedy he was.

Great stay

this place was straight out of a studio ghibli movie. the absolute character of the cow print benches, the granite floors, the 6-foot real painting in the lobby, the avocado tree under the back deck… i left this hotel with profound joy. it’s humble and clean. the hosts were gracious and helpful. as a young woman traveling alone, the door freaked me out, being flimsy and easy to break down. so that was the only downside. overall, next time i come to san juan, i know where i have to return.

I’ve stayed here two years in a row now and enjoyed my stay both times. I felt very safe and the staff was accommodating and responsive. The hotel is in a very convenient location as well. I highly recommend.

Avoid staying here. The owner is so rude and liar, he tries to rip off.Here I have some proofs that showing his lies. Please bear with me.- When we get there, owner Edgardo asked $10 for using A/C. We were cashless and couldn’t pay that, also there was no description like “no A/C” or “extra $ for A/C”. We had no A/C when San Juan is 93 f/33 c degrees for 2 days.- Moreover liar owner gave us a bad review on Airbnb, he pretended we tried to rip him off. We just asked only 10 mins taking shower and offered $10 after check-out, he didn’t accept (no problemand asked full day price (no problem). The problem is he mentioned this situation on Airbnb like we are fully sandy (we weren’tand willmess his room. Also he said “if you pay full day price, you guys are very welcome, already I didn’t clean your room yet”.- Eventually we reported this A/C problem to Airbnb support and didn’t even ask a “full refund” like this liar owner mentioned on our Airbnb review (you’ll see the proof), then Airbnb offer us half price refund for customer satisfaction and we accepted it. That’s all.- Also, hotel is too noisy.

Everything was ok at the beginnig. Yes hotel is old and little dirthy but it was ok! Owner asked extra $10 for using AC. But when we booked that room from airbnb it says it is included.Place is so noisy! Absolutely not recommend!

If you need a place to sleep and want to save some money, this is the place.

Love this place and its staff!! Amazing!

The building manager is extremely welcoming and the common areas are spacious. It has almost any ammenity you may need. It was clean and I slept through the night easily. There are balconies and it is pet friendly. I would stay here if I was traveling alone again. Water pressure was good. Bottled water was provided. The property is very secure and there are coffee shops close enough.

Wonderful place. Ive lived in several rooms during my stay. There are clean and comfortable beds, not noisy neighbors, just 15 min of walk to the beach and very helpful and polite management. The district here is very modern, has a lot of restaurants and a big supermarket nearby.

Avoid at all cost-- there were many issues:1. The only lock in the room when inside of it is a flimsy small hook and hinge. Anyone can easy break it down or unhook it from the outside-- this was a major concern.2. The description in the listing made it seem that the living room area is our own, but it clearly that wasnt the case-- instead it was a shared one.3. The mattress was uncomfortable and you can feel the springs jabbing your back.4. The room was old and felt dirty.5. It was noisy and felt there was a lack of privacy.The owner was hostile and rude. Stay away from this place.

The staff are very nice. The place is old but clean. The rooms is small but there is a sitting area outside. The area is noisy but I use ear plugs... I would come again.

Our host was patient, very accommodating and helpful. We extended our stay and would definitely consider staying again. The space is cozy, traditional, fairly priced and the Wine tasting was the highlight of our stay!

El lugar no coincide con las fotos. El olor a humedad muy fuerte, el sitio pobremente organizado y la limpieza deja mucho que desear. Si va a quedarse lleve sus propias toallas y agua. En fin, un engaño para el precio!

No recomendado para nada.... El hotel es asqueroso en una zona de muchísimo ruido por la noche. Las habitaciones huelen mal todo está viejo, feo, sucio, sin mantenimiento, el trato que nos dieron fatal y únicamente reciben efectivo. Es horrible,. Fue una muy mala decisión

Apart from the filthy rooms and damp smelling towels these people are Horrid! They would not wake up to let us into the Hotel and so we had to sleep outside on a park bench. They scammed us for money then the price at the start. And the son is so rude and is very hostile if he does not get his way! Avoid at all costs!

son unos irresponsables...Mi hijo hizo una reservacion con ellos desde hace 2 semanas y la confirmaron. Cuando llego hoy le dijeron q no tenian espacio. Que mal servicio. Escribire esto donde quiera q sea posible para que todos sepan que no pueden contar con ese hotel para nada. INEPTOSSSSSSSS!!!!!
