Let me start with the cons, the prices for a drink at the pool bar are pricey. Our flight arrived early so we want to the resort. We were told our room was ready but needed to pay including tax 58.08. It is the off season we have never had to pay for early check in. The pros the room was great. Looked just like the picture. We got an ocean view room suite. There were not issues with the room. The beds were a little uncomfortable. By now means were they hard as a rock like some reviews said. The elevators worked fine. We had no issues getting back in the hotel after hours. You can walk the beach all night and still get back to your room. We never went to the sister property for breakfast. Housekeeping was great. The room was spotless. We needed towels. We simply asked at the front desk for towels amd coffee amd get as much as we wanted. We will be booking our may trip here. The staff that we talked to where all pleasant.
We are currently staying here. The location and view are great. The hotel is outdated, bars have been closed most of our stay so far, hot tub is cold, indoor pool is dirty, and the water is off for maintenance for 4 hours so we cant even use the restroom. We had to request our room to be cleaned and the cleaning staff was rude. Really disappointing.
Great location and room layout was perfect, especially if traveling with a family. A small kitchen area that would be ideal for making quick meals or having snacks on hand and a separate living area to give everyone their own space.
So I didnt get the room that was advertised. But it was clean, small but clean. The hotel could use some updates. And more elevators, because they were a little on the scary side. I didnt feel the safest riding in them but the staff was nice. Even when I got upset about the advertised breakfast buffet. They advertised made to order omletts but no one got that memo. They did not want to make the omlett and it definitely was not made to order maybe this is what you got this is what you better take but no made to order. Overall I probably wo t stay agin but at least it was clean!
Stayed 10/1/2022Upon arrival, my reservation could not be found even though I had the code. After getting help from several people a lovely manager came in to assist and was able to find the reservation. Great right? Well as we enter through the parking structure to the elevators we notices a strong odor that was not pleasant at all. As I do understand we arrive a day after the hurricane so we thought maybe that was what that smell was. As we entered our room (1502 ocean front suit…2 rooms with a kitchenettewe notices a musty order and decided to get air freshener and cleaning products from a nearby store. The room appeared to be nice, great view so we didn’t mind cleaning. We spent most the day out and returned to the room about 130am. My partner laid down right away and I showered. I notice him moving around in bed but didn’t think much of it as he tends to sleep wild. I laid down for a few minutes and started itching. After itching on my leg then my knee I got up to investigate. Well I was not pleased to see bed bugs on the bed as well as on my partner. I woke him and headed to the other bedroom to warn the others. They too had bugs on their bed. We called to the front desk who told us to leave everything come down for another room. He gave us another room that had 1 bed and a couch. I let him know that’s not what we paid for and won’t accommodate all of us, he didn’t care much at all and said her need to wait on the manager who will come by 8am. Well we slept in the rental Jeep that night and went to the from desk to find out the manager was not in as it was Sunday. However, there was a lovely young lady African-American, with long braids who did accommodate us. I let her know as I was uncomfortable staying at that hotel any longer that I would not like to pay for the services seeing as we slept in our vehicle all night. She made some calls and she was able to get that arranged and I was not charged for the additional nights however they did take the deposit that was originally with the reservation. She was very kind and apologize and was nothing like the night shift worker before her. I do understand that people visit the hotels from all over the world and it could possibly be the hotels fault that they had bedbugs but I think there needs to be something put in place for visitors to be accommodated in a room equivalent to what they are paid for. As this was my birthday I came with my hair done and because the freak out of the bed bugs being in my hair I washed my hair out and spent the rest of my vacation weekend looking a mess. It is my belief that hotel blue can be a very nice place I was looking forward to enjoying drinks at the swim up bar however that did not happen. Lastly, I’ve loaded some pictures from my stay of the bedbugs and I will show you what my hair ended up looking like.
The staff did an amazing job in getting me situated as my boyfriend and I was coming from another hotel. Kadian and Tameka worked hard in getting us situated after traveling from Ohio. It was a good 5 night stay, would recommend hotel blue to a friend. The housekeepers also did an amazing job...will surely come back again
Perfect location if you want to be on the strip but place is a complete dump. At check in our room was absolutely filthy, floors had not been cleaned, tub dirty, side of couch broke. Hallways were safety hazards, elevators not working properly, ems had been there twice in 24hr due to people stuck in elevator, sewer issues, hallways and lobby filthy. There was 5 other people in lobby wanting refunds at one time while I was in there, hotel manager was extremely rude and we had vip protection and should have been able to leave immediately and was not given that option. Spent 4.5 hours on the phone dealing with issues before being able to get things transferred to a new location. PICTURES THE HOTEL HAVE PICTURED IS NOT WHAT ANY ROON I SEEN LOOKED LIKE! Hotel is outdated and filthy!
Easy check in. However when getting to room we discovered there was no baking dish to even bake a can of biscuits… I was told they would bring one to the room… needless to say this is day four of waiting and yes I have been back to the front desk and was told one again they will bring soon…. Hahahah never received…asked for a broom two days later three times asking I got that… no dish cloths… I told them dishes didn’t get finished not my fault….did not know maids do not even knock to get your trash or give extra linens….A smile at this motel is not very likely they look up from the cell phone and right back just looking like you do not exist or bothering their social media gathering. We have stayed here many times before but I really do not know what happened… will not be staying here again. Jacuzzis need to be drained and refilled… filmy on top and lots of hair floating aroundIf you have back issues these mattresses are not for youswim up bar you do not get very fast service. It’s like the bartender stays on one side instead of bouncing from side to side. I gave up and went to room to get a drink… they lost $27 bucks.
First off I wasn’t told until I checked in that I had to pay 12 per night to park in the parking garage. And I was supposed to be getting a deal where I paid for 5 nights and got 2 free well turns out I paid for all 7 nights we stayed. Then on the third night we were there a guy was climbing up the balconies and breaking into people’s room’s and a guest at the hotel attacked him and held him down until the security guard got there and when can she let him get away so that made me and my family feel very unsafe there. They called the police and they came 40 minutes later. Which was more safety issues. There was two days we couldn’t even get towels for a shower. Then two days in a row the hot tubs where cold tubs. And a couple of days we had no hot water for showers!! Our vacation was a total disaster we will never stay @ Hotel Blue Again!!!!
Only complaint we had is that the cleaning staff does not do daily upkeep on the rooms right now. Covid is over. If youre not going to allow housekeeping into the rooms the. At least make it a point to check on your guests daily if they need anything. Or their room touched up in anyway. We should have to call to get towels every day. Some people also dont want to walk on sand everyday in their rooms. No matter how well you wash it off your feet, it always finds its way into the top. Somehow.
Rooms are smaller then expected with hard floors but ocean view. Connected to captain quarters hotel and theres bowling and restaurants there. Access to indoor outdoor pools and swim up bar. Pretty cool.
Me and my family had an oceanfront efficiency for 4 days. The view was beautiful! Check in was quick and easy. The room was pretty small but looked exactly like the pictures on the website. The beds were very firm and uncomfortable. Pool wasn’t very clean. No problems at all with parking and the location is amazing and close to everything! We loved the Italian ice cart in the pool area and the DJ.
not very clean. there was pee on one of the toilets when we got there, beds aren’t the cleanest. i found hair all over the bathroom sink and tub. also, they didn’t give us a new roll of toilet paper, just left the same one that the last group had used. tv remote was dead when we arrived. not impressed with the cleanliness, but the location, pool and beach weren’t bad.
By far the worst experience I’ve had at myrtle beach. They didn’t have room service come clean my room. There was sand in our bed(before we got In it). Someone’s panties was on our balcony. We had to ask 3 times for extra towels. The gate to the garage broke and we couldn’t get out. We asked about late check out so we can have more time at the beach, one guest services associate told us it would be $50 for 2 pm check out and the other told us they didn’t offer late check out on weekend. The guest services associate was rude and claimed they didn’t have a manager on duty. I will never stay here again and advise you not to either.
This hotel is deceiving. The pictures are very misleading. Pool is filthy. Sand on the pool bottom water is cloudy, its gross. Swim up bar is sticky drinks are watered down and over priced. Front desk and staff worthless . Cant get towels in a timely manner and they are just lazy. Room is clean but small and no where worth the price. The lazy river is a apartment sized back yard but inside the building and humid as a jungle. Will never come here again and would not recommend to anyone.
Absolutely awful. First off a bullet hole in our door. Front lobby extremely hot along with having to wait an extremely long time to check in. Elevators small disgusting and smelly. One of them will go up and pass you before it even comes down to your floor. Vending machine completely empty. Had to call housekeeping for towels multiple times. Couldnt park on the right floor which was supposed to lead to out to our room our ocean view was a palm tree. Tight space in parking deck can easily head on collide with another car. Low water pressure in shower and the shower head would not stay up. No place to was feet off from leaving the beach.
I took advice from a friend to stay here, and even after reading the reviews I still decided to give it a try. The stay here was not what I expected. Parking directly on the floor we stayed on was nice except we had people parking on our floor that didnt have a hotel ticket on their mirror and a few days we had to park on different floors. There was a bullet hole penatrated in our door. Check in was long and not very pleasant. The door apartment slammed loud everytime. Vending machines were completely empty. Ocean view was only if you leaned over balcony because trees were right in front of balcony. No washcloths were in our room. Dirty elevators and long waits for elevator. Maid service knocked at 9am the morning of checkout waking us up before 11am checkout. No place to wash feet leaving Beach and entering hotel. Requested towels and gentleman came to room when I opened he turned away from me and didnt say a word just handing me the bag of towels and walked away not saying a word. No lotions and only one soap bar and one small tube of shampoo. Hot and cold water on shower was opposite and hard to adjust. Emergency stairs beside room were locked so we had to wait for elevators. Lobby was not inviting and air was not working in lobby ar check in. Heard other slamming doors from other rooms all night. Carpets and tile in hallways were very nasty. Did not even attempt the lazy river or pools due to the nasty halls, elevators, and walk areas. Would not recommend.
Let me start my review by saying my husbands favorite running joke of our trip: "Top 10 swim up bar in the USA? How many are there, 10?" The entire reason we chose this vacation was due to the pool and proximity to the ocean and it was more than disappointing. When ordering drinks at the bar, it took our bartender 20 minutes from placing the order to handing us (2beers. Its definitely more of a kid friendly hotel than expected. We werent even able to get in the pool to enjoy the swim up bar due to the children playing/not being monitored by their parents. The "Starbucks coffee" they have in the lobby doesnt stick to their hours. The many times we went to get coffee, there wasnt anyone there. I believe its just a brewed bag of Starbucks, the one time we were able to catch someone there to order. They do not have a bar in the lobby either. Basically, if you want food/snacks/drinks of any kind, be prepared to go elsewhere (but dont go to their recommended spot of Loco Gecko). Our room was okay. Our "ocean view" room had more of a view of the hotel balcony next door. Our curtains had stains on them. The bathroom had a very low ceiling height when showering and there was mold/rust. Their in-room information booklet on the hotel was incorrect. One distinct item I recall being incorrect was where the ice machines were located. One was right next to our room door and yet that was left out. They advertise having an ATM machine...it was broken our entire trip. The hotel they share amenities with was probably nicer. It did have a nicer pool area, including the indoor area. I wish the indoor pool area had been open on the day the weather was severe, as we would have liked to swim inside when we couldnt be outside.Long Story Short: This is not a 3 Star hotel.
The view from the room was great. But after a 14 hours drive the bed was very uncomfortable. The pullout bed as well and it had a old mildew smell to it the area around it was dusty and dirty like it had never been cleaned I had to spray it down myself with lysol and change out the linen. Then our room was never cleaned it was attempted on the lastnight before check out. The first night after we came back I called the desk and asked she said she would send someone but we were about to go to bed I stated it could be done the next day when we left out they were on the floor so we assumed it would be done nope we came back to the room still not cleaned we saw someone and asked they said you have to request for your room to be cleaned something that shouldve been told when checking in. We also saw people leaving their trash outside the door something else that shouldve been told at check in. Then they didnt want to give me a receipt at checkout.
This vacation was for my daughters birthday and first trip to the beach. The staff was super friendly , the rooms were very nice , and the oceanview was beautiful. My favorite parts of the hotel were the swim up bar , lazy river, and the Starbucks Cafe. My only disappointment was the setup of the parking garage. Too many people were trying to zoom and speed through the tight space plus ignore the mirrors to help with blind spots. Overall, I will definitely pick this hotel again in the future.
DO NOT STAY HERE!! Realistically this is a 2 star hotel but listing 1 star because the website advertising was misleading and communication has been VERY poor. Hotel room was advertised as ocean view with photos on the site suggesting it was ocean front. Our room was tucked onto the corner on the 2nd floor so most of our view was of the hotel next door rather than the beach. Check in was fine but we were given a sales pitch right away for a timeshare. Over 3 weeks post-checkout and our $150 security deposit has yet to be returned even though they claim to have released it at checkout. When I inquired about the security deposit return I received a short, unhelpful reply at first but have received ZERO response or remote acknowledgement of my follow up emails and calls. Room was clean enough but dated and had some holes in the wall. We also saw a roach but that is not uncommon for SC. If not for the awful communication and apparent theft of my $150 security deposit I would rate this hotel a 2 or 3. Overpriced and dishonest, would NEVER stay here again.
They have changed the way they do things. I have gone since 2018 mi us 2020 due to the covid19 and the last 2 years it has gotten worse. You do not get your room cleaned by staff no longer due to the covid outbreak it is done after check out. The floors are horrible after your first trip to the beach as sand gets everywhere. You now have to pay for parking as well as your hotel stay. If you have a tall vehicle youll be lucky to park in the designated area as people with small vehicles snack them up with a quickness. The elevator number 4 got stuck on level 10 for 10 minutes with me and others in it. Then a second time on 4 it was for about 5 minutes. Then and entire day the very same elevator was stuck luckily I decided to find the stairs or a different elevator in a different location in the hotel. The boiler broke the second day and no one notified the guests I had to go down and tell them. You have to ask at the front desk for the correct number of towels as they will not bring them which I get. However they will bag them and come into your room and put them in the bathroom if you are not in the room (yet they cant come in and clean the room while you are out). I use to love this place but the last two years serves have dwindled a lot for the prices paid.
Customer service was terrible! They canceled our room and had to rebook it they said my card would not go though but the numbers were wrong. My stay was from the 9-14 and they said it was only til the 13th so we had to pay for an extra day. We were told if we want a cart we would have to go look for it on every level. We had an inch long roach in our room. Our cards to the room stopped working so I had to go to the office to get a new card and they asked why I didnt carry all my cards and questioned me on why I only took one they they said I was supposed to leave even after I paid for the "extra day". There was no Cafe and the bar closed but yet the bartender was still giving drinks to his boyfriend.
We booked this hotel to stay at while we attended a basketball tournament normally we stay at another resort but decided to stay somewhere different… BIG MISTAKE! The service in this hotel was horrible!!!! Called to try to get fresh linens for 2 days finally had some brought to us and for a room with 5 guests only gave us 2 towels, could not get toilet paper, dish detergent so finally I just went to the local Walmart and bought some. Housekeeping was rude when asked for items for your room. Beds were horribly hard and uncomfortable. Having to pay for parking is a joke, that should come included with the stay. Elevators are horrendous, very shaky and constantly popping, doors hardly close don’t seem too safe. Overall the best thing about this place is the swim-up bar and being able to use the pools at Captains Quarters a few buildings down. We will NEVER BOOK this hotel again! We will definitely be returning to the Crown Reef where we have stayed every year for the past 5 years and NEVER had one problem!
Overall, our stay was fair. The room was clean and the room was spacious. The two main problems for me were towels and parking. There were 6 of us and each time we asked for towels and washcloths, we received 4. The front desk even asked how many people were in the room, and we had 6 every single time. We received 4 towels and 4 washcloths per day. We even called the front desk and asked for 2 more each time, but the request was ignored. Parking was ridiculous. There were 6 people, so we had two vehicles. Only one could park in the parking garage. The other vehicle had to be parked wherever a parking space could be found and it was $15 per day. It cost an additional $60 to park a car for a guest staying at the hotel. I don’t think I will stay at Hotel Blue when I visit Myrtle Beach again. A little too pricey to not receive enough towels for a large family and to only allow one family vehicle to park on the property. Not the worst hotel, but definitely not the best.
First off, you must pay for parking!! The swim up bar was cool but the pool overall was only 4 feet, wasn’t enough to like actually swim just had to like stand around. The balcony furniture needs to be updated. Only had two white plastic chair and one small table. We stayed in a room with side view of the ocean and it only had one nightstand. We didn’t have maid service daily due to covid, which is understandable. Only cool thing was that we were able to go their sister hotel up the street but their pool was way overly packed but it was nice to get different scenery. I personally have stayed at better hotels in the area. I wouldn’t stay here again because for the price it was just okay.
This was my third stay here at hotel blue and it was the most disappointing. I came down for the weekend to celebrate my bridal weekend with my friends. I suggested we stay here due to my wonderful past experiences. After checking in a seeing the room we had been assigned I was highly disappointed and went to the front desk to ask for a room change. I was informed by the very rude and disrespectful front desk worker Shelton that the hotel was booked for the rest of July and he couldn’t help me. I called his bluff by looking online and seeing that there were some rooms available. He then slammed the room key on the counter and told me to go check it out to see if I liked it. Even in his rudeness I thanked him. I replied “thank you love” (I am a southern womanhe responds by saying “don’t call me love call me sir”. This left me extremely upset and furious. Shelton needs customer service and multicultural training! No guest should have to experience what we did. We were a group of women being treated like dogs in the street! We felt uncomfortable, unsafe, and unwelcome.Management was good at assuring us this issue will be rectified however, there was no follow up so we can only assume they kept their word. The swim up bar was the best part of the trip. The Dj is a added bonus. Bartenders working the bar area were amazing! Kelly working the front desk can teach Shelton a few things about customer service. Housekeeping is non existent. It took two hours to receive a roll a toilet tissue and four towels. The room was never cleaned during our four night stay.As much as I liked the property and some of the amenities it has, sadly it is not enough to make me return after such a bad trip. Customer service is a huge thing for me and after the way me and my friends were treated on our first night, I will not spend another dollar at this establishment.
Will not stay again. Was told my remaining balance before I left for trip when we arrived was told a different price ended up paying way more than expected room was not what I was told it was going to be it was on the side of the hotel not back. Also had to call someone to spray for water bugs in our room . Was also told I had 2 room we had one room and a bed in the wall never again.
2 adults, 2 older kids, 1 toddlerOur ideal vacation is relaxing and outdoors. Were resourceful. We arent fans of tourist traps.Weve stayed in a condo but never a high rise resort-style hotel.General expectations for a resort would be available amenities as advertised, staff to use as a resource and assistance making arrangements, approachable and professional. People who know the area better than us and add that extra layer of fun/easy to our vacation.Got here, 3 towels for 5 people. I filled out a checkin survey, they were responsive and we had towels the rest of the time. That was a plus and customer service-wise the only one.Beds were comfortable and plenty of room to spread out. View of the ocean out both sides. Im not a fan of heights but we had a great view and less noisy. 2 bars of soap so small my toddler could close her hand around them plus 1 small tube of shampoo.Elevators closest to us were glitchy and frequently didnt work.Kitchen-small but had a stove, microwave, fridge. All glass dishes. Small bottle of dish soap was a plus. 3 forks and 1 steak knife, no baking sheets-Ridiculous. In room coffee consists of teabag-style Maxwell House so if you bring your own bring flat filters.Breakfast paid for in advance for several days. Its 2 hotels over on the 9th floor...The 1st morning only 1 working elevator but no signs to let us know so after waiting 10 minutes we walked up. On the way down we took the elevator, I was okay with waiting 20 minutes after eating a buffet. The food was ok but the room is small and rather than having drinks available for us to get there are waitresses which were friendly.Laundry: Front desk associate said its on the 3rd floor. I walked the entire floor then went back to the lobby where the same girl was sitting in the same chair. I asked again and when she said 3rd floor again I asked her to be specific about location because I walked the entire floor. She said, "I dont know, I havent toured the building." I asked her to ask someone else and she was obviously annoyed to have to get up. When she came back she said "You can try the 4th floor." So yes, its the 4th floor. No detergent vending machine. No quarter machine, so bring $4 in quarters for wash and dry plus detergent if you dont want to pay $10 for a tiny bottle from the convenience store dowm the street. They dont have a convenience store despite what the welcome information says. Theres remnants of a small bar in the lobby plus a tiny Starbucks with a few options. Looks like walking through a utility closet with "fancy" swinging seats upon entering the building.Lazy river was out of order the 1st day but working the rest of the times. Pools and hot tubs were nice, deafening music on the pool deck.We looked around and didnt see anywhere to grill. Its illegal on the beach. I asked the front desk and they said no grills on the pool deck and "I dont think you can on the beach." When I asked where we could, she said "You can look it up-on the internet."We returned the little grill we bought and paid to go to the state park and grilled there. Were resourceful and maybe my expectations are wrong for staying at a resort. Overall I think the front desk associates must be the ones that didnt get the greeter job at Walmart. The environment is busy and loud but I guess I should have expected it for being walking distance from everything. The Entertainment Express free shuttle is a few blocks up and nice to have. Runs a 45 minute-1 hour loop.We went into the bowling alley but didnt use it. The 1st game is included but it still would have been $5.25 per pair of shoes and no socks available (except a pair of toddler socks for sale. The hula dancers were cool, just get there early so you can see. We didnt use the Captains Quarters pools but they would have been a nice area for the kids to play.We had a nice time but not on account of the hotel. Most amenities piggyback off the oth
Good location! Saw the ocean from balcony and enjoyed my stay overall. Service was kinda disappointed, as there was no room service and the front desk dude was lackadaisical. He said we could stay an hour later for checkout so we wouldnt have to go to the airport extra early and then his manager said we couldnt even though promised. I did enjoy my stay overall though. Captains Quarters was cool and had great breakfast!
This hotel was hands down one of our favorites in myrtle beach, sc. The pools, restaurant, and swim up bar were great. Loved the lounge chairs in the pool. Clean and great environment. Great nightly prices as well. Highly recommend.
We LOVE Hotel Blue! The staff is amazing, with a special shout out to Filepe, the most amazing bartender on the strip! We always plan to try new places but our heart is with HB, 3 years strong for my daughters birthday week. and many more to follow! The updates are BEAUTIFUL!!!! Room 1502 is fit for kings. Thank you for another wonderful year!
It is all around a 3 star hotel. Dont expect much more from it. Now with that being said Im gonna go through the bad and the good. The bad - not very clean, saw a cockroach in my room one night (it happens, they are all over outside in Myrtle Beach if you pay attention), towels were kind of a hassle, everything is a bit dated, their are ads for their vacation opportunity everywhere, if you look too close at stuff youll see its not very clean all around, and there is a little bit of a walk to the strip. Nothing crazy bad, just 3 star hotel stuff. The good - the pool is actually really fun, the bar was open at the pool when they said it would be (been to other hotels where this isnt true), they brought in a dj on the weekend for the pool, beach access was nice, rooms looking out at the beach have a great view, and it was priced fairly. The walk to the strip isnt that bad, but the beach walk doesnt start for a few blocks. Id stay here again if I was trying to go the cheap route.
I just want to start by saying the resort is nice, but checking in was a nightmare, manager clueless. We were suppose to have 3 free breakfast buffets at check-in for the hours I spent on the phone trying to get a live person. Manager said he knew nothing of it and would check on it. He made me feel like I was making it up. Never received a call back.Room was nice, but water issues while taking a shower. Pool area crowded and they played loud music from a dj, so it was not relaxing at all and you could even hear it from the 10th floor. People were dirty dancing, smoking, etc so not kid friendly at all, and just plain disgusting.Room was sticky feeling and the ventilation was terrible. Air conditioning unit worked well the first night, and it went downhill from there. Woke up in sweat every morning. We called for toliet paper, which the front desk said they would bring some up, but never did. No clean towels given nor room service.Ive learned my lesson, we will definitely be staying on the north end again from now on..Dont waste your money if you want a relaxing vacation, unless you want loud music, rude teenagers, and sticky feeling room.
Stayed in June 2022. Very dirty hotel (from lobby to hallways to our room- clumps of hair in our room/bathroom and balcony). Unfriendly and unhelpful staff. Still have yet to get a receipt upon checkout (asked for one in person and they did not have it and I have called multiple times providing my email address). No food services (must walked blocks to "their restaurant"). Cafe Blue never had staff and usually just had 2-3 muffins to choose from. NOT a kid-friendly atmosphere, at all. Kid pools are 2-3 blocks down at another resort also. No housekeeping and impossible to get something if you need it (towels, coffee, etc). Pool was nice, bartenders were not. Beach access was easy, but there are hundreds of other (betterchoices to stay with beachfront access. Elevators broke down daily (and we were on top floor). Very uncomfortable beds/pillows. Floors in room were wet constantly even with patio door shut 24/7. It was abysmal and gross, and not worth the price tag stuck to it. I have stayed in nicer 1-star motels than here. Most other guests we encountered also couldnt believe how disgusting it was and how differently it is portrayed online.
The hotel looks really nice online. This is an older hotel. It needs a lot of updating done. The kitchen in our room was all new appliances and cabinets so that was nice. The elevators are a bit sketch. Sometimes the door wouldnt shut all the way. The pool on the weekend had a dj so definitely a party atmosphere. If we do come back to South Carolina I would stay here again.
This was the worst customer services experience I have ever had in my lifetime. I decided to take out the VIP insurance which would allow me to reschedule or cancel up to the day of my trip. We have had a family emergency so we wanted to push back our plan. I attempted to reach this hotel for 5.5 hours via phone, requested to speak to mangers, emailed them and even Facebook messaged the company. I finally managed to reach front desk and when I told them I would no longer be rescheduling but not canceling they hung up on me. Ridiculous
I ended up staying here because their sister hotel was horrible. Wish I wouldve booked here to start with. The office staff was extremely friendly, house keeping was very professional and the manager himself was kind. The floors were keep clean between rooms and hall ways. The rooms were extremely clean. Reason for the 4 stars was one I had to pay extra when I originally booked with their sister hotel captain quarters.CQ had bed bugs and cleanliness issues so instead of a refund the offered to find me somewhere else cleanier. Ended up paying roughly an extra 200.00 for their mistake. Two: elevatos were not always working and would sound like the were breaking. I was very grateful for being able to stay somewhere clean and would recommend this hotel to other people.
I booked in advance back in Feb 2022. When I arrived it was a very easy check in. The lady who checked me was very polite . Our room was very clean and spacious and up to date. We had double room with 2 balconies and full kitchen. We did have a few minor mishaps such as no pots and pans or broom and dust pan but once I made the call to the front desk within 30 min the staff had our items to us. Was very pleased with guest services. The hotel is at a nice location and spent alot of time in the pools and hot tubs also. The bathroom tub was great it was a soaker tub . I am NOT happy about having to pay for nightly parking I dont think we should have to pay extra for parking that should be included in the package that I paid for . It was nice that it was gated and that I could park right in front of my room. Checking out after being there 7 days was sad and the lady who checked us out early on the 8 th was very non personable and seemed to have an attitude . She wanted me to just leave the room keys on the counter didnt ask for my name or didnt offer me a receipt . I requested a reciept and made sure she knew the room I was in andy name. Overall we enjoyed ourselves and will be back another year .
The hotel is not as it appears online. For the price I expected more. The entire hotel is dated. The pool is in need of a deep clean and repaint both the inside and outside pools. They boast of having the only swim-up bar, but the bar also need repairs and to be repainted. The hallways do have an offensive smell and the carpet is filthy. I am 5ft 10ins and my hubby 6ft 2ins and so the bathroom drop ceiling made you feel like a prison cell. The kitchen appliances and utensils were also dated snd cheap. As for the ice machine on our floor - I would not even use it for ice to make an ice pack. For the rates charged the hotel should do some serious renovations. I would never stay at this hotel again. BTW the property they own four hotels down the street Captain Quarters is in my opinion even more run down.
Service was great! They overbooked us so we were downgraded from a king oceanfront room to a double bed oceanfront room( they compd a night for us). Bathroom wasnt the cleanest. They was hair left in tub drain. Vanity top was dirty and I never trust the bedding. Thankfully I come prepared with lysol wipes/spray and microban cleaning products. Pool was nice with swim up bar, great drinks. Didnt do the indoor lazy river and the hotels backyard is the beach. Parking is private, lobby has a bar and coffee Cafe. There are fifteen floors but elevators everywhere.
Absolute wonderful! As always with booking.com, there was a mix up with my room type. The rep immediately found a solution and allowed me to upgrade. Room was wonderful. Pools were amazing! I’m on upset I didn’t book for a longer stay!
The pool wasnt properly took enough care of there was cigarette butt and black and mild dropping all by the pool area. The room was accommodating it had a full size stove and refrigerator. Its not a bad location at all its on the beach and not to far from an theme park for the kids. They offer off street parking so that a great accommodation, especially on memorial day weekend when its near impossible to find a parking spot.
If you were smart you will stay far away from Hotel Blue as possible. Once you arrive in Hotel blue you are hit with multiple fees that is not advertised art inform to you as a customer. At no point in time will they allow you to have any second vehicle on their proper. They will rent you a 10 person room but only allow one person to have a car. When you get a room at hotel blue they charge you $12 a day to park your car. The room service is poor. However upgrades to their property have made the rooms more attractive. So the biggest issues here is predatory charges.
Family was supposed to stay for 3 nights, we wanted to leave within 3 minutes. Stains on the walls, ceilings, sheets, and hairs in both sinks and shower. Staff was also really rude, housekeeping lady gave me a snarky look when giving us new sheets we requested. The parking garage is super cramped, can barely fit two cars driving at the same time. The TV remote is outdated, not even being able to change the source/input. Lastly, theres no instructions to access the internet. When we called to ask, they literally told us "just put a fake email" when signing into the network. (Following up on that, you can also get in with a fake name too). The only saving grace is that its right next to the beach, but dont be fooled by the rating. (Which is why Im eating location so low). This is the last place youd want to relax with your family.
Lobby was dirty. Pool was gross. Hot tub was yellow. Swim up bar is the worst amenity. Rooms were outdated and dirty. Bathrooms were small and plumbing sucked(drainage and hot wateri would never recommend to anyone. The diamond plate in the hallways is ugly and ratty.
Had a great time at this hotel. Room was very clean, Pool was clean, Hot tub was great. I love that the parking was gated so you had to use your keycard to get in. Felt much safer. Everyone here was very nice and welcoming. We will be back! Thank you for such a great experience!
I just reserved my room yesterday and realized that I selected the wrong room type so I immediately called the hotel to correct it however; I have been on hold for OVER 2 hours 5 different times without any type of representative even answering! This is unacceptable and at this point I feel like I should cancel my reservation because it should never be this hard to contact a hotel. The website also does not allow you to change your own reservation without talking to someone so I feel very stuck.
We were absolutely mistreated from the time my wife and I checked in till the time we left. The fire alarms battery was dying at 6: 30am in the morning. Whenever I called the front desk about it she told me the maintenance guy would be in at 7Am. 7:30am rolls around still no one so I call down and no answer. I go to the desk and wait I hear the girl in her personal phone laughing so I have my wife call the desk she just lets the phone ring. I yell hello and she comes out with the worst attitude and says what. We get into an exchange I ask her when her manager comes in she says 9. So 8:30 finally comes around and the maintenance guy comes and the front desk girl never put in the work order for it. So I’ve been up since 6:30 after flying all the day before and she wants to be rude about me bothering her because I was woken up. So the manager comes in I talk to her tell her everything she says she will take care of it. Nothing else was said or done about the matter she could have atleast given us a coupon for 10 percent off of breakfast nope nothing. So go to the end of the week Thursday to Saturday when we left a group of college kids come and they are terrorizing all hours of the day screaming yelling through the halls all hours of the night. When you call the front desk to ask if they can do anything they say they will send security out. They don’t. So we didn’t sleep at all the last 2 nights. Go anywhere else just don’t stay here they do not care about you and it’s beyond over priced.
This was a really nice hotel and pretty reasonable pricing. My only complaint would be the comfort level of the bed (way too firm for my likingsbut everything else was great. Loved the oceanfront view and the cleanliness of the room. The swim up bar was a major plus. It was also great having access to the sister property. I didnt get many pictures of the hotel itself but it was nice. The view was my most favorite part. Would definitely stay here again.
