Hotel Atlantico Tower in Lapa

We had the worst experience at this hotel, arriving there you will see staff wearing their home clothes, no uniform. Secondly, fingers crossed to stay on the 2nd floor cause the elevators are soooo slow I’ll take lots of your time. Third, when we moved out suits into the room there was a horrible urine smell, sink faucet was leaking all over the place, AC was also leaking water into the room, bed sheets were poor quality (believe me it’s another level of poor quality). Toilet seat broken, ceiling full of mold, trash bags on the hallways at 4:30 pm.I strongly recommend you not to stay at this place, you can find much better hotels, as I have stayed in the same areas for the same price.Furthermore, when request to get a better room it was ignored, that’s when we got stressed out at requested our money back! We were there for 4 hours and it was enough to make us wanna go to another hotel.

I write this critic before even seeing the room because the system of the hotel crushed and the staff didnt even give us our room. We are still waiting to reboot their system and be able to pay them in order to give us our room. I will get back to this critic after my visit has ended. I am very dissapointed so far

The price is right. Of course youll find better hotels in Rio but not for this price. Heres the pro and cons:Positive- Its located in the heart of downtown, just a couple of blocks from some of the best museums in Rio;- Its like 5 blocks from subway and half block from the light rail station;- It has lots of restaurants and bars around (dont expect fanciness though);-The building is not old and it seems it had some renovation just a couple of years ago;- The rooms and bathrooms still look new and are very clean;- Mattresses and linen are compatible with the price;- It has a pool with a bar and a nice view on the top. Too bad the water is not always clean.Negative- After business hours, the area requires some precaution (it aint terrible, but I would not recommend women walking alone there after 8pm);- The reception is short staffed and both times I was there I had to wait like 10 min to be seen;- Breakfast is not that great... But still fair for the price though;- Some of the AC are too old and wont cool the whole room;- The water might not be warm enough if you decide to shower between 5-9pm;

Hotel lobby is nice, the pool is nice. The rooms air conditioner is not very good but the shower and the beds more than make up for it. Would go there again

Value for money! We had a really good deal at this place. The hotel is a bit old but the location and price made it worth it. There are plenty places to eat around and its in a busy part of Centro. We were expecting a lot of noise but the room was pretty quiet. Their breakfast options were not bad at all. My favourite was the vanilla cake and cheese bread. Theres a little pool at the rooftop as well.

Very good service and helpful staff except the fact that they dont keep any notice or message in the room or the rate card for items which can be used. We had to pay a bomb for using water bottle in the room for 7 days and that too we came to know at the end of the stay. There should be properly information About this in the room.

Really cheap stay but hotel is in desperate need of refurbishment, redecorating and a good scrub. First room we were given was meant to be a deluxe double but found on arrival a king mattress on top of a double bed. Almost fell off the bed onto the floor when I first sat down. Air conditioning until didnt work and no fan available. Shouldnt really advertise as having wi-fi as youll be lucky to get signal anywhere other than the roof top pool.Staff are really wonderful and did everything they could to assist our stay.Really looked forward to breakfast as the reviews had raved about it... it was ok...

I didnt like the Internet connection coz its very poor as well as the room service I placed the order twice on the same day just to clean the room. But, I still would recommend to sb or even to myself next time coz the food is good and people are nice.

Nice hotel, I went there with my sister thinking was a great hotel with a good service, unfortunately they made at first a mistake with the reservation: we’ve booked 2 nights and they just reserved the room for 1 night, so they charged us. Then, my sister’s toilette was not working. Also in the afternoon I found two customers inside my room, with all my personal stuff inside it.They didn’t have a good behavior, the feeling was that they were joking with us because we are not Brazilian
