C. de la Sultana, 3, 18008 Granada, Spain, Granada
This upscale hotel in an elliptical structure with a striking atrium lobby lies 3.1 km from the Royal Chapel of Granada, 5 km from the Alhambra palace and 9 km from Granada Cathedral. The chic, warm rooms have minibars, free Wi-Fi and flat-screen TVs. Upgraded rooms come with living rooms, while suites add whirlpool tubs and private balconies with panoramic views. There's a laid-back fusion restaurant; a breakfast buffet is available for a fee. Other amenities include a cafe/bar, an outdoor pool, and a spa with a thermal pool and a Turkish bath. There's also a fitness area and parking (fee).
Rooms dated with well 🥰 used furniture. Restaurant staff surly and unfriendly. Some reception staff and duty manager rude and unhelpful
Im disillusioned with the hotel. I ordered a room for 2 people with a kingsize bed and they gave me a room with 2 single beds. Wi-Fi was terrible (dont even load a single Facebook page in 5 secondsand the hotel park costs 12.50 € per night. The view from the room was for the freeway. It is notable that the hotel is neglected. The buffet costs €18 per person. Possibly has 4 stars just for having pool and spa.

A hotel with No vibe at all.
We don’t know how this hotel got the four star rating. We agree with the low star rating reviews. Both of our rooms need lots of TLC. The bathroom door in one of the room kept on closing by it’s self while the other room needs super arm strength to close. Same goes to the slid doors for the closets door in both rooms. Drapery are broken and can not close. Damages appeared on the wall. Previous guests used amenities were in place. And last of all, no shower mat nor glasses provided for hotel guests.
Absurd that my entire tour group had to presemt their passports. The tour company explained that this was the only hotel in Spain that enforced such an odd restriction. Exceptional, in a bad way.The Wi-Fi was really bad, I had a lot of difficulty connecting to the service while on the dining room and at other places within the hotel. Wifi kicks you out every 5 minutes.I was prepared for the food because of the other reviews on this website but I have to say it was actually pretty good. The soup in particular was fantastic. And they also did a great job of accommodating my companion who had a gluten allergy. The wine provided was excellent. The poolside bartender could not accommodate a frozen margarita or a pina colada. But he had a blender. The pool was far too cold for my companions to enter. They did not rate it highly. Ugly, dirty, no towels. Next to a loud highway. The hotel itself is very large but it has an odd threatening shape that resembles the designs of the famous prison panopticon.
Great location with Lidl next door and many pubs and McD within 5 minutes. Breakfast was quite alright. Hotel needs some refurbishment
Bad internet speed, insufficient TV channels for non Spanish people
Nice hotel with clean & spacious room.
Spacious rooms, with comfortable beds.Clean and warm.Car parking under hotel and accesses by the lift from the rooms.Very handy. Most disappointing is the breakfast,we have stayed in 15 hotels in 6 weeks and this breakfast was by far the worst.Looking at older reviews this has been an ongoing complaint and would be so easy to rectify.Fresh orange juice, decent coffee and bacon properly cooked with fresh eggs. Why spoil your reputation with something so basicStaff were generally pleasant and helpful.
Very disappointed, stayed in a lot of hotels in Granada and this just didnt do it, weve stayed in better 2 stars. It was like staying in a shopping mall, no ambience. The spa and pool facilities were closed. The room was pretentious, for example, the loo provided able to give you a wash and blow dry, but there was no bath mat for getting out of the shower, the shower curtain was half hanging off, the shower leaked, the pedal bin was broken and the shower ceiling was mouldy from a water leak above. You could choose from a multitude of lighting possibilities but the scruffy binds hanging at the window did not keep out the light or heat. More annoying when attempting to switch off the lights at bed time we discovered that what we thought were light switches were for an electric blind for the window, too late! There were foolscap sheets of coloured paper in frames which we presumed was supposed to be art! There was no bin in the bedroom area, we had to ask for a glass at the bar as there were none in the bathroom. Even the cheapest hostal manages to provide a throwaway plastic one! The beds were not the most comfy. We had to ask for an extra pillow. Accessing the WiFi was complicated and we had to ring reception for help. The only redeeming feature were the staff at reception and in the cafeteria, who were attentive and extremely helpful. We wouldnt choose to stay here again, the room felt jaded and the basic facilities were just not there. There is a lot better out there for the money we paid
Booked this hotel only because it says it has spa, but spa is closed and we were not informed before our stay :(
The hotel is huge. The room was fine though I would rate almost a 4-star. The front desk clerk was very helpful in suggestions for visits. The hotel offers parking that is approached from outside the main building though leads downstairs and then take the elevator under the main building (useful). It’s 10 euros per stay and they were flexible to allow the car to remain after we checked out. 20-30 minute walk to main attractions (old townand next to Lidl and Petrol station. Convenient location to exit town to motorways / highways. Thanks 🙏🏻
Very normal hotel. Be careful with the shower, very sleepery
I have no clue how this is rated 4* when the whole hotel looks like it needs fixing. The WiFi is so slow, it takes 15 seconds to load google.com, the furniture looks like it is from a used store (also the edges of the walls and so on), the bathroom taps leak and the lobby has a constant loud noise from the air-conditioning.When you first walk inside it seems great but when you look closer you see that it isnt so good. It probably used to be a nice hotel but it has not been maintained properly.
Aww we love Granada! And when we stay in Granada we stay at Hotel Abades Nevada Palace! Great location & excellent value! This is our second summer staying here for a few days! We love the pool area & bar! Walking distance to some fab restaurants!
Granada is a hard choice for a holiday, let alone during a pandemic... or the end thereof (if you believe certain source). But Granadas got it beauty. Its in the geography, the architecture, the food... less so in the financial habits of the local business owners. We liked Abades de Granada and well probably book it for next year, ONLY dependent on prices. Circa £60/night is the limit to what id pay to stay here.Ill try to list the pros and cons, to spare you guys long literary review.PROS:- really nice design and amazing inner spaces- swimming pool with umbrellas and beds and it was not busy at all. It was at 1.65m deep so perfect for most ages- the restaurant was quite good- room service are the best ive seen in 4 years- mini-bar in the room gets restocked everyday- good quality beds and bedding- really quiet, i mean graveyard, although there were other guests- A/C works really good and is not strong enough to cause headachesCONS:- the place needs improvement. It looked like a mini-entifada took place there... wallpaper peeld in places, frames splintered, tiles cracked, furniture falling apart. It really gives the impression that theyre trying to milk all they can out of it before selling it... ive seen places needing maintenance, but this bodered dilapidation and i mean not just in the room. Photos can be added on request but i rather document the good memories- the pool was salt-water. Who thought that was a good idea?! How did they even get it and keep it clean?! And it was clean(ish).- pool-side bar opened 7pm till 11pm only- drinks are poured by eye. I wasnt aware of this. U pay £5 for 100ml of Jack and the bartender just drops a bit in a glass (or plastic cup). If you argue, they just add a bit more. I swear this would be indictable in the UK :)))- only 2 out of 10 employees knew enough English to see us through the stay, and they were all relatively young. How would you justify that in 2021...?!- parking costs £10/night but theres free parking to the side of the hotel. Its a safe area...- gym was close, i guess COVID- WI-FI was poor in the main lobby. I struggled to do 2 zoom meetings. It was better in the roomsWhat made most of an impression was that the staff, although extremely disciplined and wearing masks all the time, were never smiling or as polite as in the UK. They never used the words Sir, Madam (i like to be called that sometimes, especially after a few drinks), even Mr, ggod morning or good evening, just lookedat us and expected us to initiate conversation if we needed anything... but they resolved all my issues and stayed out of our way.Overall, as i said in the beginning, id book again... but, strictly dependent on prices!!!
Guest should be informed that the pool is closed before the booking. You should really rethink your breakfasts. Tons of plastic, low quality juice, supermarket croissants.Comfy rooms, no bathrobes though. It was cosy in the end.
Very average hotel, very grumpy staff, therefore slightly below average total rating from us. Would not stay there again, and would not recommend. (Especially considering how many hotels are available in Granada.)On the other hand, there is a delightful café around the corner from the hotel where the staff is knowledgeable about the area and super friendly. If you do get stuck at this hotel, don’t bother asking the staff for anything. Check with the staff at the café! They are the best.
Good rooms and attention from hotel personnel. It is located 20 min walking distance from downtown.
Nice and beautiful hotelNo kettle and limited hot water for drinking at night. The breakfast is good with hot water available.
This hotel is primarily focused on the needs of conference guests and Asian tourists. You have hordes of Asian tourists arrive and leave at all times. At some points it can get pretty crowded in the lobby. The hotel itself has definitely seen some better days. In my room the water in the sink wouldnt drain and the air-conditioning would only work in heating mode. My colleges room stank of cigarette smoke, although he requested a nonsmoker room. The room was changed pretty quickly. My drainage problem was fixed, but the AC wouldnt work properly for my intire stay. The hotel has a pretty decent gym although located on level -1 it gets stuffy. The staff is friendly and they speak decent English. I can recommend this hotel for a few night maximum. If you need to. Stay longer or you need to work, keep looking.
Staff on desk are quite unfriendly. We stood for at least a couple minutes with no one as much as acknowledging us. We were checking in, so that was a great start to our trip...The house keeping staff however were very nice and helpful. Hotel is good location for the tram into the city centre, about a 3 minute walk. Quite a few nice eateries near by. Overall fabulous stay in Granada.
The hotel was ok but I have to admit I wasnt completely satisfied. As I arrived, the check-in was good and easy and the staff friendly. In the evening I used the gym which was also ok (it is small and they have some old machines), the price for the spa is exaggerated. When I went to have a shower in my room, I found a hair in the shower, which is a no go at a 4 star hotel. The bed was comfortable and the view from the window nice. Also they have a toilet that cleans for you. The next morning I went down for breakfast around 8:15am, and I found some empty and half empty trays which they didnt refill anymore - at 8:15h in the morning one should expect to find everything in the buffet! Also there was just pineapple and orange (citric fruit which I cant eatand fruit from the can (cheapest fruit at a 4 star hotel?- the next day they had bananas and kiwis as well, so I dont understand why its not possible to give an impeccable service every day. The rest of the stay was pleasent.
A big hotel, away from the city center. Not the best choice if you come for holidays. Taxi cab to the centre was about 6€. For us location was great since we were next to the building we were training for work. Breakfast was below average although it had a lot of foods to choose from. Rooms were big and comfortable. Nice and clean.
The Spa is wothless, not worth spending over 4€ on. It should be for free for how unspecial and low value.Understandable about limiting people in the spa but not close enough to charge for which is super bold. The hotel room is very nice but horrible view even when you ask for one in many weeks advance.Horrible service at the bar next to the pool.Even daring to ask us to bring menu back, plastic glasses as well. You will feel like your at your own home which you need to clean after yourself. Not a holiday or hotel experience. Its a hotel home where you do everything for yourself.Breakfast was okei but had to mention few times for refills on the buffet.Hotel just presents one of the worst service in Spain.Cleaning was spot on and probably the only working department in this hotel that is a standard of a hotel.
Nice room, clean and bright, very friendly staff which always makes ur stay nicer. Breakfast was good, very small plates that make u have to get up many times.. and no king size bed which was a bit disappointing. We also visited the spa, very nice spa, brilliant relaxing massages! Overall happy with Abades hotel!
Bait and switch . outdated rooms. poor service. Book Granada Palace instead. Nothing is included, its RyanAir strategy for an outdated hotel with bus loads of tourists.
+The hotel is located in a fab position and only 30 minutes from the Sierra nevada. Lovely and clean, staff friendly, large bright rooms.-Disappointing part was the breakfast. Cold hot selection, not the freshest or biggest selection, bad coffee, machine concentrated orange juice, no clearing of dirty plates.-The bar has no soft relaxed seating area to enjoy a drink.+The spa is fantastic after a day on the slopes, friendly helpful staff, good facilities+plenty of residential free parking in the area and lots of bars and restaurants, especially liked dplatos round the corner.
Average hotel looking a bit worn. Air con is not on in the winter months but rooms are way to warm and made the stay uncomfortable. Staff are nice and helpful.
Cleaning is perfect, breakfast is amazing Ana attention is absolutely special.
Rooms are clean and cosy, toilets are well furnished, water flow from showers are a bit weak, but overall very pleasant and staff are helpful.
Great place to stay that is not right in the city! You still hear traffic noise, but it isnt too bad. The hotel was very comfortable and nicely appointed. The staff was so very kind and helpful! The breakfast buffet was lovely with lots of choices. Sitting in the lobby bar was a treat as it was intimate without being closed off. They were VERY generous with my Grand Marnier, lol. All in all, a lovely stay.
I stayed one night October 2018, very clean, large rooms, nice lobby, good breakfast, I went on a tour with VIP tour guide Begońa, and she was excellent and well documented of everything we went in Spain.I will recommend hotel and VPI tours.Aida Gonzalez GispertPuerto Rico, USA
They have a new block. I took 15 minutes to find my room. No one from the reception bothered to show the way. I was struggling with 2 big bags and moving around the hotel. Laura at the reception guided me twice with incorrect directions.
friendly staff , clean, great breakfast, outdoor swimming pool is clean ,spa is very nice
Location is terrible. Not close to any attractions and to have to take the bus or taxi to get to the main attractions in the city. Rooms are good. Breakfast was not so great as most things looked like they were store bought. Compared to other 4* hotels we have stayed at in Spain, this one did not take the prize. Basic amenities like coffee machine, kettle and iron weren’t provided which was disappointing because it was a hotel and convention centre. They asked us to pay them to get our clothes ironed which no other hotel we’ve stayed at has done. Not going to be coming here again.
Rooms are nice. Wifi works better than most spanish hotels.Hotel is too far away from town and they take advantage of that by ovecharging thier captive audience for food.
Gorgeous gardens and architecture, during summer it is very hot. Worth the visit anytime, just wear comfortable clothes and shoes, there is a lot of walking involved.
Ive stayed here six or seven times. Some rooms are in need of renovation. Too crowded in the breakfast restaurant at times when busloads of Asian tourists en course to Alhambra queue up at the same time. Check in is rather slow.
Hotel room was nice, it was very clean, bed was confortable and other equipment was good too. Service was nice too.
Nice clean and friendly. Sadly hot food served on cold plates.great secure carpark for just €10.00
Modern and clean. The lobby is spacious. Restaurant is spacious with various options on breakfast. The room is kinda spacious and so is the bathroom. The first toilet I found in hotel in Spain with Japanese technology of which we just press buttons to spray, to dry, etc.Free WIFI. WIFI is speedy.Located just 1 km from Senallo Plaza (Granada’s biggest mall). 20 minutes drive from Alhambra.I actually enjoyed staying here but please beware of the security. One of my clients got stolen in the lobby. Well, he forgot and left his sling bag unintended on one of the couches on the lobby for about 5 minutes. When he realized that he left his bag, he returned to the couch but it’s already gone. Somebody took it and the “kind thief” left the passport and the wallet outside near the fountain but took the bag with rest items included a Samsung S8 Plus. At least, my client could continue traveling and could fly back home with his passport on his hand.
Parking at extra payment. Staff is not pretty friendly. Breakfast is so-so, eggs are not cooked enough, no hamon, but good pastry and coffee. All is good in the other
Very nice, with good food and leisure facilities such as the pool and the gym. Trouble is, I dont know if Spanish toilets ever have locks?
Decent place to stay. Has a good breakfast spread and free WiFi
Very tight rooms and bathrooms. Not perfectly maintained I can see scratches on the rooms walls.Cheap decoration! very slow reception only one person was working at the time of check in, waited for 40 min to be checked in... and at check out time they were not flexible for even 30 min late check out.
Clean and rooms, comfy beds, good value. Besides this we werent too thrilled by the hotel, the service was rather unfriendly, the breakfast buffet terrible (everything we ate (scrambled eggs, cheese, breadtasted quite bad), the SPA and the parking cost extra... I guess for the value its okay, but for me this hotel didnt fulfill by any means the standards of a 4* hotel.
Very nice hotel to stay, room are small but comfortable. Swimming pool is very nice and clean.
Me and my family of 5 arrived with no reservations. As there were no family rooms we were offered 2 rooms next to each other. They were perfect for our family. The rooms were not only spacious and bright but they were clean and airy. What we did not expect to find was that both rooms contained a fully usable kitchen that had a fridge, microwave and some crockery for your own food. The fridge was a bonus for us as it meant I had some where to put the babies milk over night. On the whole the staff were polite and very friendly. We were made to feel very welcome. We will definitely be using this hotel again.
