216-ft. tower with an elevator up to an observation deck offering expansive views of the mountains.
This was very interesting. The view is spectacular! Cost is reasonable. Museum was very informative.
The view is amazing! The first floor on top of the tower is fully enclosed and climate controlled. The top floor is open with protective railing. Both floors have telescopes that cost .50. Things I wish I had known.
Well worth the trip and as you can see by the photos it was a beautiful view.
We hiked up to the tower from Central Avenue behind the bathhouses. It was quite an uphill hike and there is also an option to drive and park at the top. There is a bathroom available at the top along with another overlook area. The gift shop is jam packed with souvenirs. Pay and take the elevator up 3 floors to the top of the tower to see beautiful views of the valley and surrounding mountains.
The view is breathtaking. The cost is kind of pricey. If you are staying at one of the surrounding hotel, there a magazine that have coupons for local attractions. There is a coupon for one free admission. You do not have to take the elevator to the top. Can take the stairs and hike up to the top!
My wife and I stopped by Hot Springs National Park on our move. We had a lovely afternoon looking through the National Park Museum, but the Observation Tower was the Belle of the Ball, from the tower we saw expansive views of the surrounding valleys and Hot Springs, AK itself. Were definitely coming back to Hot Springs for a long weekend, all because of the tower.
Great views of the area! Dont forget to pick up a free admission coupon in a magazine from the Hot Springs visitor center. Try the stairs going up or down. It really isnt that bad.
This is an amazing Mountain Tower that is 216 feet tall, we took the elevator to the 3rd floor observation deck, you could see for miles. The museum is on the 2nd floor.
Great place to go look over the entire park and then some. Lots of history on the 2nd floor. Cool gift shop but look close at tags, done size stickers have been moved (most likely by other touristsand that large you thought you bought turns out to be medium. Also the drive up has nice pull off doors to take pictures as well (see panoramic picture)
Lovely view of the region, and lots of info and history on the lower deck. Consider a jacket for the top, it gets windy! If I could make one suggestion it would be to clean the exterior glass on the elevator and accompanying windows so the ride up/down is more impressive, but once youre at the top you forget all about it
A breathtaking view of Hot Springs and the surrounding area! If you are visiting for the first time, this absolutely needs to be on your list of things to do.The gift shop was cute and full of local souvenirs, the employees were very welcoming, and the top of the tower really is something to experience. The very top floor is open-air, while the floor just below has windows and goes into the history of Hot Springs, the tower, etc. I can tell you I have a pretty intense fear of heights, but I went up for our kids and I really did feel safe once I got to the top. If youre nervous about going, Id encourage you to give it a shot.If you have young kids, be prepared for them to get to the top and say "Wow! Were up high! Can we go now?" 😂 You may have to do some speed reading to read some of the information on the enclosed floor.Honestly, I may have enjoyed the drive up and down the mountain as much as I enjoyed the tower! It was filled with switchbacks and was really a beautiful drive. Lots of places along the way to stop, see the sights, have a picnic lunch, and even walk some trails if youd like.
Enjoyed the view from the tower. Great view. The drive up is different and fun. Go to the 2nd floor to see the plaques telling the history of the area. Were considering to return in the Fall to see the colors.
The only was to truly enjoy the tower is if you start on bathhouse row and hike all the way to the top. The have a nice souvenir shop at the base of the tower, and you have to purchase a ticket to access the top. Once you reach the top via elevator you’ll get a 360° view of Hot Springs, I highly recommend this to everyone.
So very pretty, and also very interesting. The gift shop is kind of pricey, but the lookout tower views make up for it. The staff is so nice, upbeat, and pleasant to interact with. To put it simply, the staff was refreshing. I highly recommend!!If you’re in the military or are a first responder, they will give you a discounted rate, so be sure to bring proof or an ID if that applies to you.
Very surprisingly beautiful hike, right in the middle of the city. However, I wish the tower would have been open to be able to see the view from the top.
They close early so you cant get sunset photos during the summer. You can either take the elevator or the steps up and down the tower.Their sky "2nd floor" museum ceiling is leaking, so theres is buckets all over.On the observation deck there is massive amounts of graffiti.
Amazing views, wheelchair ♿️ friendly! The shop was a little tight for handicap. Only complaint would be the cost. Its pricey for large families.
A very kool place to go and bring the hole family the views up there are amazing and the history of the town is terrific
This attraction provided a wonderful - if a bit frightening - view of the whole area. I highly recommend it, as long as you arent troubled by heights lol.
Shh I dont want to share too much and kill the fun of it but here is a little sneak peek of the tower. Me and my boyfriend were doing extra long road trip and decided to take a day at Arkansas, we went for a random hike and had no idea this was there, it was an amazing surprise and really showed the Arkansas beauty and there was a gift shop in it. WARNING ⚠: you have the option of either the elevator or stairs to the top, if you take the stairs ohh you legs will definitely looove it 😂.
Only $11 dollars and the views are incredible so it was worth it. The history of the area and historic photos including past photos of the tower are available on the floor below the viewing deck.I purchase an a very cute bathtub mug in the gift shop.
Its a wonderful view of the surrounding area and you can read about the history of the area while there. Its well worth the time.
Trails are very well kept and it must be nicer during the fall and spring, bring enough water during the summer, tower cost at $12 per person sounds reasonable if you think that is the only cost to hangout in the whole park. 😉
Such a beautiful place to see! If you have the chance this is worth the drive.
The tower is around 216 feet height. For entering the top of the tower you have to get ticket from the counter.Once you reach the top the view is marvelous, you can see birds eye view of hot springs national park.Even though it is very hot season the wind in the top the tower is relaxing. This is definitely a must watch place in hot springs
The Hot Springs Mountain Tower is a decent place to visit for tourists. It shows you an amazing view of the Hot Springs area. The shop below has some great souvenirs and an elevator for visitors to conveniently get to the top. The elevator does not have air conditioning though and neither does the indoor area at the top of the viewing site. The views at the top does have a great vantage point and is a amazing place for photos. There is also a 3 1/2mi trail if you decide to hike/walk to the tower. Its a scenic route with park and Hot Spring details and information posted all throughout the walkway path.If you enjoy high views and local history I recommend this location.
We visited on a weekday during our summer family trip. There was no wait, and plenty of space to observe and check things out.I cant speak to how busy the weekend is, but it was great on a Monday in June!
excellent place to visit with family or friends very colonial city and the attraction of the water that comes down from the super hot mountain
Nice winding drive up and down the mountain. The tower is over 200 feet and gives a stunning view of the area.
Over priced for the upkeep. The display up stairs were not great or in good condition. The price should be going back into the maintenance of the upper areas of this tower. It was neat but needs improvement
We walked up the stairs to the top of the tower and took elevator down..but very nice scenery!! The gifts hope had great things.
Decent hike to the top, small parking lot. $11 entry fee per person to the top, which was a bit of a bummer. Super small parking lot so get here early or hike. Tip - park in the lot just before the tower, where the bathroom is and then a quick, 2 min walk and you wont have to worry about fighting for parking.
When we started this trail to the mountain tower we didn’t even know we were on it since we were down at the hot springs bath houses but it was such a AWESOME trail up! And we took the elevator up and it was so pretty.
Easily accessible from the main road, plenty of free parking including for Handicap accessible Vehicles. The drive up is very nice with some view points. You can also walk up to the topThere was not a long wait to buy tickets or for the Elevator to go up. You can also walk the stairs if you like.Excellent 360 view from the top with plenty of Historical Photos and information. There is a nice shop where you purchase the tickets.
Not much to say about this place. If you have never been to any observatories in your life, you might like this place. Otherwise, you will be underwhelmed. The parking lot is big enough for about 25 cars, and the road to the tower is one-way; so, once you’ve mistakenly passed by, no way to go back.
You can drive up to the observation tower, but its a pretty, albeit tiring hike to the top. Our kids really enjoyed it. The view is great and well worth the price. I Note: I should have thought twice about taking the stairs down.
Very cool to experience! Its really awesome that theres two levels on the top. The 3 floor is super windy. But the 2nd floor you can experience it without the wind.
5 star view; 4 star customer experience. The gift shop is packed leaving little room for the groups and groups of people trying to get up to the observation level.Signage for where to stand to pay for tickets versus where to enter the turnstile would go a long to generating a more cohesive flow. BUT it is definitely worth the visit. Just keep calm.
Fun place, great to go up and show the kids the mountains and city. I didnt know this, but there is a little museum on the first floor of the observation deck so you can learn a bit about Hot Springs. Went up before we did hiking.Oh, and I thought we were going to have to walk there, but I was very happy to see ample parking right by the tower.
The view is breathtaking. I’ve visited this place numerous times. It’s the place you go every time you visit Hot Springs!
Ive been there a couple of times. Its the mountain I love! Beautiful and each time I find new trails! Ive hiked it several times!Highly Recommend!
I forgot how bad my vertigo was until we got into that dang tower elevator that has glass windows overlooking Hot Springs. 🤮We went at around 4 pm during mid week winter. They stop doing tours to top of the tower sight seeing platform at 4:30 pm. From the moment we walked in, I felt rushed by the attendants. I bought a little merch and paid for 2 adults. It was over $50. There’s a ton of stuff in their gift shop. Be prepared to drop some $$$ if your partner is like me and needs a souvenir from every place you visit. I spent more money on gifts when we got back down from the tower because the gift shop doesn’t close until 5 pm and they don’t rush you out the door like they do to get you in the tower. If you are terrified of heights or have bad vertigo, be aware there is glass windows in the elevator. Going up was harder for me than coming back down. Elevator has 3 floors listed, but that’s way more than 3 floors high. You actually step out on a rooftop with fenced railing. It was very windy. We didn’t bring quarters to use the binocular machine. Take quarters if you want to go old school views. It was easy to zoom in with phone camera. Don’t forget to stop on second floor to see the mid-section displays. The history of the area is displayed along with 360 degrees of windows.Winter months do not have much foliage and beauty to look at, but it was nice to go in off season when not too crowded. It was hard to tell if the fog we saw was from the Hot Spring or because of the cool weather. For us, it was one and done. Not sure that we would have a desire to go back. Probably more enjoyable during summer or autumn or with more people in a group. Would be educational to take children. We might stop by to go walk the trails nearby or pick up something from the gift shop, but not sure it’s worth the $$$ for the winter view. Doubt my husband will want me to go back to that gift shop. 😂Verizon cellphone service picked up in the area with no problem. To the lady who fell up the stairs going into the building, I waited until your friends picked your butt up and helped you into the building before I took the photo of the tower. Way to bounce back, girl. ❤️Go at least once for the experience.
Hot Springs Mountain Tower is a must see when visiting HS, Arkansas for sure! You get a beautiful view of the town below and surrounding mountains. Makes for nice photos. Ive gone twice and would go again next time I vacation in Arkansas. Gift shop always has cute things to choose from. My husband bought me birthstone stud earrings the first time we went and a lovely ring the second time. Being way up high is always so exciting!
Views are great. Information on second floor is wonderful. Gift shop even has a few nice shirts and attire.
Great views but very windy! Recommend bringing a jacket if you visit the outside observation deck! The inside observation deck is the level below it, but the views are better from the very top of the tower. Wish we got to see the sun set all the way. Unfortunately, their hours say it closes at 5pm, but the tower actually closes at 4:30pm. Wish they would extend their hours, especially during the summer when the sun sets later because the views would be beautiful! Admission was $10/person and parking is free.
Great views from the over look spot. Great positive energy! Great view of the city! We didnt get a chance to go up in the tower due to it being Christmas eve. Very understandable for sure! But Im sure the view is amazing! Its a very peaceful serene place to walk and/or drive thru. We stayed in the Happy Hollow Hotel right at the base of the mountain. Close to the entrance and exit of the mountain drive/trails. Loved having access to the walking trails for early morning walk and meditation. Pics from the hotel shows the mountain tower and Honeysuckle walking trails.
Hot springs mountain tower is 216 ft tower with an elevator up to an observation deck offers you to explore the view of mountain and downtown. For adults it cost $10. The waiting time is not long but we found it crowded even in Covid time. The place also offer you to explore small suvinor shop.
There was a wait, but well worth it. Spectacular views, nice gift shop, and neat artifacts/memorabilia on display at the top. But it’s worth it just for the aforementioned views. Would recommend adding to your “to-do” list if your in Hot Springs!
Pros: Definitely worth going to. Its a great view, peaceful area, and has neat info about the surrounding area at the top. You can drive right to the tower or hike up.Cons: You can tell theyve increased prices recently (admission for adults is $10but honestly its still reasonable.
Hot Springs Mountain Tower is a great attraction if you are visiting Hot Springs Arkansas. The tower provides an amazing scenic view of Hot Springs and all the mountains surrounding the area. There are numerous walking trails around the tower if you enjoy hiking. Elevators are provided to reach the top of the tower, if you want a challenge and great exercise there are stairs to walk to the top of the tower. Hot Springs is an amazing city and I highly recommend visiting.
