Hosteria Ganino - Restaurant in Florence, Italy
Good location, appetizer, and decent prices. But thats all where it ends. The quality of food is just okay for what you are paying. And service was really bad and took a very long time. Maybe it was because we were tourists. The main dish (t-bone steakwasnt that good... The steak wasnt cooked evenly because some parts were medium some were more rare. The service was very chaotic since the main dish took over an hour to arrive after we were done with the appetizer. Then the bill took another half hour at the end while we sat there in the cold. Other people arriving after us got their apps and mains before us (which also included steaks... lol)Roasted Potatoes were good on the other hand.
Great meal. Great service. Relaxed, friendly, attentive, local, fair prices.
Great dinner spot in Florence :Ragu Pasta felt like it was cooked at home with love.
Good restaurant. Prices are fair and not too expensive. We ordered the carbonara and Ragu pasta. Their carbonara pasta is on the saltier side however its really good regardless. The ragu on the other hand was delicious and perfect. The staff were really friendly and spoke good English for those who do not understand Italian. They also have a English translations on their menu!!
One of the best pastas we have had in Italy (and we are Italian)! Me and my boyfriend ordered first gnocchi with pancetta and cheese and pasta with chianina ragù. It was so good that we ordered a second round with one more pasta with chianina ragù and tried the Ravioli with ricotta and truffles! Everything was way beyond expectations!! Definitely a place to try and we will come back for sure.
Authentic. Excellent. Great service and prices. Patio filled with almost all Italians which is always a good sign. Top notch.
Loved everything about this restaurant… great location easy to walk in from the main church!!! The staff are very friendly and suggest their best seller and help you!!!We ordered1. Meatballs with tomato sauce- amazing texture and felt very light to eat… great taste too2. Pappardella with wild boar sauce - apparently this was their best seller suggested by them… the pappardella was amazing in texture and the wild boar sauce complimented it3. Roasted pork with potatoes and onions- amazing cut of meat presented beautifully and felt very hearty to eat. Loved the taste and the crispy skin4. Pana cotta with berries- the pana cotta was silky soft and light… the berries wer too sour to my liking and felt like it overpowered the pana cotta5. Crème brûlée- this was the star of the show… amazing taste and texture and the caramelisation of the sugar gave it an amazing balance of butter and sweetOverall a great experience here
One of the best osteria in Florence. Brilliant food, fantastic wine, great service. I will definitely come back one day.
Loved it, the desserts were the best Ive had after one week in italy.
Well, where do I start? Food average at best…but service? Atrocious…waiters all over the place, food was delayed for more than 1 hour and no one was able to say what was happening. Never again!
Great restaurant for a nice dinner in Florence. They’re very busy, so I would suggest you definitely make a reservation. Best carbonara I’ve ever had and the meat was so tender and juicy! Only downside was the food took forever to come out, but it’s totally understandable for having such an amazing meal.
We enjoyed the pasta menu. The service is great and the pricing is reasonable. Right in the city center. Better to make reservation beforehand as it is often full.
The Bavarian beer 🍺 here was amazing, I was surprised to see them serving this style of beer in Florence, pleasant surprise. We ordered the carbonara and it took away to be served we almost wanted to give up but eventually it came out and it was somewhat worth the wait. Creamy with the egg and parmigiana and nicely cooked spaghetti. One of the waitresses was really lovely and move used to a table which was directed in the sunlight and talked us through the menu, good service from mainly her. 🇮🇹
It was so good….and they have « Schiacciata » bread.
Not sure if it was an off day or if quality has gone down, but I’m disappointed I wasted a meal here. The pasta I ordered had no flavor to it. I took 3 bites and then left it. I also ordered a salad and I could see there was a lot of slimy bad lettuce mixed in. To me this means they are not paying attention and don’t care about quality. Also I’m pretty sure the house foccacia they serve was at least a day old as it was dry and hard.
Freshly made excellent tasting italian food in the heart of Florence.
Great food, especially the Florence steak. Good pasta as well. Also, completely unrelated to the food or service, but the wifi was unbelievably (almost concerninglyfast. I have quite literally never had such fast internet in my entire life and would be willing to fly back to Florence just to use it again. It was almost 700 megabits a second for the upload speed while my regular internet is close to 60-120. To this day I am still in shock that a random restaurant in Florence had such good internet and it feels illegal
Found it by accident- best decision ever! We were there with our Italian friends and we were all in awe with the quality and taste of the pasta! Incredible taste! I can only recommend!
Ganino was the best place weve eaten at while in Firenze. It was recommended to us by a hostess of another popular place in Firenze Vini e Vecchi, which was all booked that night. The food at Ganino was really delicious. We went there for dinner and ordered Gigli di pasta fresca al ragu, Cappelacci al tartufo e ricotta, and Filetto di miale. We were tasting each others dishes, that way I got the taste of all three, and they all were awesome!
We had a delightful lunch at Hosteria Ganino. Youll want to make reservations. We did not, but because we arrived just a few minutes after opening (opened at noonthey were able to seat our party of three outdoors and in the shade of the umbrellas. (We saw many people turned away for no tables available. We enjoyed the pasta carbonara and a green salad with blue cheese, apples and walnuts. The wait staff is friendly...please be patient if they take a while to check with you. They were swamped with customers and orders. The atmosphere was relaxed, the food tasty and the prices reasonable. Well put this on our "must do" list for our future trips to Florence, and might even sneak back once more before we head for home.
Good dinner in the heart of the tourist area. Very busy, do not expect too much personal attention but the food justified the prices in this part of town.
Very good place recommended by a local person. Food is fresh and delicious. We had a lunch and dinner there. You need to reserve for dinner.
Great little restaurant, nice outdoor seating area. The service is a bit slow, but the vibes are good.
Simply perfect!! Nice food and polite stuff. Nice experience with a bottle of Chianti.😉
Where to begin. This is honestly, some of the most delicious food that I’ve ever eaten. Definitely worth a trip there.
Always very friendly staff and amazing food!
People super nice, and the food incredible! Prices are what you would expect in an Italian rest. Amazing!
This was recommended to us by an acquaintance. I actually was very excited to try the food here because I only heard good things. However, I was quite disappointed. The service is a bit chaotic. We basically had a menu thrown at our table. We didnt feel welcome at all. The food was just okay. We actually enjoyed the appetizer more than the main dishes. The pasta was tasteless. The whole experience was just okay. We even skipped dessert because we just didnt think we were going to enjoy it that much. Its clearly very popular but I honestly think its overrated. Im sure there are better places in Firenze where you can eat better pasta.
We had a beautiful lunch. Great food, delicious maet, tender and moist without being at all fat (dont ask me hows that even possible). Antipasti, home made pasta and dessert were all just as tasty.Staff were friendly and welcoming.
Amazing food. Tasty wine. Very nice staff. Highly recommend!
Great food, scarce respect of anti-covid rules. People were passing by and getting into the kitchen with no masks. They were not staff members, only friends of the cook. I wouldnt mind in different times, and if covid wasnt so easy to spread.
Great food, great wine, lovely staff! Also we were a bit tight with times but having made aware the waiter, we have been served quickly and efficiently. Totally recommended!
Really nice restaurant in Firenze city, well served, typical Italian dishes, super wine and serviceWell you can drop by for lunch or dinner
Friendly, authentic, real tuscan kitchen, money worth. Realy good restaurant in the middle of firenze with no surprise when u have to pay.
The food was really good. Best pasta I have ever eaten in my life. But make a reservation as you might have to wait for a while to get a table
Foods were really good!We took some kind of a plate of mixed cold cuts for 2 people as a starter, it was a lot.Fortunely, the waitress warned us about the portion, she was really helpful and friendly. For the following, we took some pasta: ravioli truffle, and carbonara.Price was reasonableService was a bit long; there were a lot of customers.
We were lucky enough to be introduced to this restaurant on our recent trip to Florence. The restaurant was located near our hotel and near major sights. The food and the service were outstanding. We had pasta with wild boar on one visit and steak on the second visit. Staff was hard-working and smiling and friendly. While they can be busy and reservations are worthwhile, I am a little reluctant to do this review to introduce more people to the restaurant.
Excellent bistecca alla fiorentina and anti pasti. Waiter was very friendly and attentive. Fair prices! Highly recommended.
Everything you want in a Florence pasta. We had the carbonara and the pici aglio with burrata sauce, and the sandwich was ham/burrata/truffle sauce on ciabatta bread.... to die for!
Amazing food and staff. We had the burrata with zucchini and bistecca fiorentina, both truly amazing and very fair priced!! also the house wine is delicious (we had white).
So delicious, best meal we had in Firenze! It was so cozy inside, candlelight, friendly staff... We didnt know what to expect but were SO wonderfully surprised! We ordered the antipasto with cheese.. and the salami...it was like nothing Ive ever had. The waitress said its just common salami. I was thinking... Common to here! It was amazing and almost creamy. I cant describe it well .. but I could eat that every day!We had pasta to follow. I ordered the big spaghetti with crispy bacon and figs. My husband had ravioli brasato, which was like a rich beef and wine stew inside a ravioli.... The bacon and fig was such a perfect balance of rich, salty and sweet with a light creamy cheese sauce on the pasta. Incredible!! The ravioli was so full of flavor, each bite changed as you chewed. Im going to have to go home and figure out how to make it. Antipasto, a bottle of Chianti and two pasta dishes were under 60 Euro. Highly recommended!!Oh, and if you charge it, there is no place to add a tip so leave cash on the table! The service is excellent and well deserving of a gratuity!
My favorite restaurant so far in Florence. Will definitely be returning on all future trips. The food was first class, and the waiter was very friendly and funny. I especially recommend the cheese platter.
Nice and cozy restaurant with friendly staff. The menu has a number of good options and the waiter recommended me a nice chianti to go with my steak.Had the caprese which was nice and the steak and roasted veggies were cooked well with a nice flavor.
Unfortunately this place lives just from the location and tourist visiting, running into this place in between some tourist attractions. The carbonara wasn’t a real one and tastes REALLY artificial! I couldn’t finish it. The other dish was pasta with beef and was mostly tasteless and had a LOT of water in it and was more like soup.Highly not recommend this place, both were easily the worst dishes I had in Florence yet and there are plenty of better place to the same price or cheaper around
Amazing dinner. Small, quiet, and as authentic as it get. I have to highly recommend both of the items I posted below, they were phenomenal.
Dissappointing taste. The tomato was a bit plain tasting and the risotto was a bit too hard. Both dishes was only good when combined. The green risotto was dissappointi gly not available in mid September as well.
Delicious Pasta! The Carbonara and Homemade pasta with ragu beef were our favorite!
We just bumped into the restaurant at lunchtime. We were nearby and were hungry. We had to wait a few minutes as all tables were occupied but not too long and we could place our orders. My wife took the recommendation of the chef: wild boar ragout with homemade pasta. I took grilled vegetables with smoked buffalo mozzarella. Both dishes were very good - but the Highlight was the homemade desert of the day (Zuppa Inglese). Two other guests gave us the hint - I have to say that it was the most delicious desert that I ever ate in my live!! We will go back tomorrow and hope its still available.
Best tuscan restaurant of Florence100%Tuscan recipes, friendly staff, honest prices, tasty dishes and an atmosphere that makes you feel the charm of Firenze
Went here for dinner. The waiter was nice and gave us a little free prosecco. Their pasta is house made and was very delicious. What made me remember this place the most was their panna cotta. It was firm but still jiggly, creamy but not heavy, and the strawberries were so sweet. I would go back just for their panna cotta.
