Hostel Libertad - in Granada, Nicaragua
I cant say to much as I was only there for 1 night, but it was a great night. Its your basic, cheap Backpackers, nothing fancy, but does the job perfectly for a place to lay your head down. What sets this one apart a bit is the staff. They were excellent. I was only in town for a day so had the intention of doing all the tourist stuff. I never made it past the bar. Chilled vibes, killer tunes & good people all round.
Malo
I was volunteer here for a short time, the staff have stolen my money from my bag . 2 customers and friends have been stolen also . 1 was stolen while he was in the pool. Very dirty rooms , staff who robbed you behind your back
This place is so cheap. And you can tell. I shutter at the memory of mold everywhere, flooded bathrooms and how knocking on the bedroom wall nearly caused it to fall over. Great breakfast though.
The hostel looks very nice at first sight, having a pool and such and it has a lot of potential but the place is really not maintained ... Most rooms are shabby, the furniture breaks when sitting on it, the toilets do not flush properly, there is dirt everywhere and the kitches is overall filthy. Also because they use volunteers to do the reception, things get stolen, since people enter with a backpack, ask to see the rooms and steal things from the rooms. Everybody has to learn but this is something that an experienced receptionist should know and ask them visitor to leave their backpack at reception. Also the staff seems to be more interest in having fun than actually improving the service at the place. The loudest sounds in the hostel are coming from the reception desk. But what really ticked me off, is that local kids come to swim in the pool ... Would not be the first hostel where I stayed that local kids "take" things on their way out ... I am not saying the did, but this place offers absolutely no security to your belongings ...
The place has a lot of potential, the building is an old colonial house. Unfortunately, the hostel is run in a very shabby way and doesnt have the basics. For example, there are only 3 bathrooms for a total of more than 50 people, the kitchen is not clean and the staff is more interested in checking their phones than in cleaning. Also, the privates dont have place to hang your stuff. Is a real pitty
Nice place....
Nice hostel, very nice pool, awesome personal that runs a nice and cheap little bar every night with good mojitos for a dollar!
Basic. Huge dorms (20 people!). Has a pool and free coffee in the morning though!
We stayed here for one night in a double room and would not have spent here more nights. Our room wasnt clean. Everywhere you could find rubbish and even pills on the ground and the beds. Im not sure if we got new sheets on our bed. The toilets were really dirty and there is only one sink. We could not close the window of our room so everbody could have get in there while we were not there.During the night (between 1AM and 4AMthere were people jumping in the pool, playing ping-pong, cooking and having loud coneversations. Nobody in the hostel cared about this.It seems like this has been a good hostel a few years ago but now there is nobody taking care about the facilities. And so the facilities are getting worther and worther...The staff in the morning was really kind and she was really sorry.
A beautiful place but the staff is very loud in morning (8amand they turned music on at the same time so you cant sleep anymore. Theres also a kid that the staff brings in and its crying all the time. The Bathrooms are disgusting... water everywhere! They should clean that up!!!!BEDBUCKS!!!!!!!!
The hostel is in a good location. Other than that its not clean and appears uncared for. I had to request new sheets for my bed, and the bathrooms are always submerged in an inch of water which is very unsanitary. If you want a good night sleep this is not the place to go, as they dont have a curfew on the common areas and people are partying all night, until 5am... Also, the mosquitos are very bad (at least in Februaryand they dont provide bug nets for the beds. There are other hostels in the area for comparable prices that are run more professionally.
Clean enough, relaxing afternoon, but ZERO chill after hours with occupants lacking any awareness regarding sleeping hours deep into the early morning -- this is paramount. Music playing loudly until nearly 11pm. Drunk guests coming back around 3/4am wanting to stay loud and continue party when most of the hostel is grabbing some winks. Look, Im no party pooper, but ffs each traveler is on their own unique sched -- plz respect the varied vibe of all. No real mgmt so the monkeys are kinda running the zoo. If thats your thing, then sign yourself up. If youre looking to recover from travel or long days in the sun, this will set your sleep back.
No llegamos a alojarnos. No tenian candados y no podiamos comprar
Beds are absolutely disgusting. Im well used to cheap Central American hostels but this place is something else. They dont provide pillow cases or wash the sheets from the previous guests. BED BUGS are alive and real in this place. DYSENTERY will be a real concern. The place in general is disgusting. They also blast crappy Latin American pop music throughout the day. Spend more than 10 minutes here and youll get a headache. Best avoided
A disgusting hostel that doesnt believe in hygiene. The beds are filthy and had other roommates, stayed in all day and pretty sure none of these sheets were changed. Had to ask for a bedsheet so I could sleep on and avoid the dirt. Bathroom is filthy and is flooded all the time, hard to avoid with all the foot traffic. The kitchen was even worse, cooking anything in there would give you something. Although the staff are very friendly and helpful I would not recommend this place. Theres a hostel called Backyard next door at the same price.
Good location and lovely old building. Has a pool. Did not live up to its proclaimed party vibe when we were there though
Really comfortable, nice people ;)
Cheap place with wifi, swimming pool (not the cleanestand lots of tours around Granada.
