Hostel Archi Rossi in Florence

Amazing hostel in Florence. Great prices, clean rooms (with AC!), friendly and helpful staff and a beautiful garden to relax in. Four minutes from the Santa Maria Novella train station and about 5 minutes from the Duomo. Will definitely be back and recommending to all my friends!

Fantastic location, rooms were fine, and great price.

Amazing location. The garden looks like it is part of a fairy tale. Air conditioning was well working and nice to have in mid summer in Italy.

I highly recommend this place! The location is very central and the neighborhood looks safe. Staff is very friendly. The room is clean and comfortable. There is a beautiful big garden where you can read and relax.

Hostel location is extremely good, very close to central station and the main places of interest. Value for money is good and I wasnt expecting to go in more than a hostel, but in the room there were many small bugs on the floor and especially a special piece of furniture on the bathrooms ceiling - please see picture - that clearly states the cleaning routine needs to be revised.

This is the best hostel I have ever stayed in. The staff is truly incredible: they speak English, are super friendly and are really willing to go the extra mile for you. They helped me with a room and arranged special vegan breakfast for me. The room itself was also perfectly fine. Stayed in a 1person room which was great in size and very clean. Would definitely visit again when ever in Florence and would recommend to anyone.

Please do yourself a favor and stay at Archi Rossi hostel. Our stay here was incredible. Not only were the rooms very clean (they’re cleaned every day), but the staff was beyond helpful and friendly. The breakfast is simple but filling, and on a few days when we had to leave the hostel earlier than breakfast officially started, they made breakfast for us early! The 24 hour front desk is fantastic for security and convenience reasons. The outdoor terrace is very pleasant. There is free potable cold water in the breakfast hall at all times for you to fill up your water bottle. The hostel is literally a 3 minute walk from the train station, and it’s in a great neighborhood. Only 2 minutes from Mercato Centrale, where we ate multiple times. Especially given the reasonable price we paid, the value at this hostel could not have been better. We loved it!

Staff were so friendly and accommodating, room was clean and location is perfect! They let us store our bags on our final day so that we could explore the city and have a comfy couch in the lobby to chill on and charge things. So many great memories here and highly recommend!

The staff at the reception desk is really nice!!!The hostel is full of history and beautiful. In addition, the breakfast was so tasty and has so many choices. Include, scramble eggs, cake, salad....The room is clean and has own shower room and toilet inside the room but its a little bit small.The location is perfect as well.5 minutes walk you can reach the train station

We stayed at the hostel for 3 nights, the breakfast is rich, coffee, cereal, eggs, beans, honey and jam. Beds were comfy and the room was big. 10 minutes walk from Florence center and 5 minutes walk from the central station

I stayed in October 2019. The place is located near the train station, very practical. Because you have the center no to much bloks away. Its has breakfast so its a great start, because you dont hace too much hostels with it, The breakfast room is spacious and clean, actually all the place is very clean.You have a garden where you can hang out, talk, play table games, etc. The rooms are fine, nothing to say about that. Its a quiet place, just grab a book and relax.I recommed the hostel.

Is good for a couple of nights, specially if you have to take trains to Venice or pisa bcs the station is 5min away. My room (16 was really quiet and clean but smelled bad. Rooms upstairs seemed noisy. Take into account there is no kitchen to cook nor cutlery. Nice gardens and big lockers for luggage. Bathroom has a hairdryer, breakfast is quite complete and the wifi works ok. Staff is a little bit rude.‌

Good hostel, great location, decent breakfast. One star deducted for lack of soap in bathrooms (really?and no kitchen - theres a microwave and fridge but not even cutlery, never mind plates or cups.

We didnt actually stay in the hostel but in the sister hotel next door.Lovely staff, very helpful and friendly.Room was basic but clean. Lovely views and lovely outside areas to sit.Absolutely fantastic breakfast.

Solo traveler, felt safe. Rooms were clean but if you are a light sleeper I would recommend staying in a room with no more than 6 people. The staff was friendly and helpful. I liked that they offered a complimentary breakfast with good options. The location was good, Uffizi is about a ten minute walk away.

Pretty average backpackers, full, basic & not livy at all. So the rooms are super super basic, not even a hand towel or soap to wash your hands after going to the toilet so I feel like the place is not as hygienic than it looks. No social life what so ever as there is no bar area or communal area where people cna go to socialise - there is a terrace and outside area and some communal sitting areas but again its not social at all. Staff are a little abrupt in their response, never a smile or willingness to offer anything more than just answering your question. Would not recommend staying here as a solo person if you want the social aspect. Breakfast was decent though - more like a hotel than most packagers from the breakfast side.

10/10Where to even begin. Firstly, the staff was very kind and helpful. The location of the hostel is also perfect, just 10 minutes away from the centre and few minutes from the train station.The hostel looks amazing and its really neat and clean. Also you can hang out on the garden or on the terrace, where you have your peace.They also have a lot of breakfast choices.I recommend this hostel highly.

Hostel Archi Rossi has a great location; 5 mins walking distance from the SMN train station, and comfortable walking distance to all tourist spots. We stayed in a 6-bed dorm; room and bed were spacious and comfortable. As the toilet and bathroom are combined, it could be a pain for everyone to freshen up in the morning. The overall ambiance of the hostel is chic, well maintained, and has enough common areas to sit/hang around. The breakfast has good variety and is included in the room/bed price. We reached a little early and were not allotted a room; though we could leave our luggage and came back after 2:30 pm for the check-in. Overall, great location, but a tad expensive.

Everything was pretty okay until I got bed bugs. No promise of a refund, just changed rooms from the pricier all girls dorm to a mixed dorm. Slept for four hours, tops. Couldn’t shake the feeling of bugs crawling on me. Wouldn’t recommend as, in my opinion, situation was handled very poorly.

We stayed in Hostel Archi Rossi in the the dorm room of 6 girls. It means we had another 4 roommates from everywhere in the world and we didnt know who they were yet. The hostel staff had a really cute pug, and another staff had a huge Alaska. I just fell in love with them immediately. The hostel was classic and cozy. They painted all of their walls with classic paintings and I thought that was so nice. We didnt really care about the view much because we would go out and visit places all day long. The hostel provided free hot water, free microwave, free place on the fridge and free breakfast (and that was awesome. We stayed in the 1st floor because they would call 1st floor ground floor. We crossed a balcony with garden view then reached to our room. The locker was a little bit stupid because it was so hard to open by the key, we had some help from our first roommate. She opened the door for us from the inside. First roommate was from Korea and she was really friendly but a little bit tired after a long trip. I rent a towel because I forgot to bring mine. The receptionist said that it costed 1€ but then they only had small towel and it costed only 50 cent. I thought it was the cheapest price for renting a towel because the towel costed more in other cities. Breakfast was amazing with many choices and they also provided oranges.

This is a great hostel for those looking to stay in a laid back place, close to the station, with a chill decor. A 5 minute walk from SM Novella. Everything is in walking distance in Florence. Walking into this hostel is like walking into a museum, the decor was fun and artistic. The lay out was fine. It is a mellow atmosphere. Staff was friendly and helpful. No real interaction with other guests other than your roomies. So you will want to make an effort to talk to others. Breakfast was included for me, which was decent. I wanted a calmer hostel, and this is so not a party place. The reason I deducted a star was because of the beds and set up. I felt the bunks were for children, not adults. I couldnt sit up without my head hitting the bed and my hair getting caught in the top bed frame (I am 5 foot 5 inches). Even though the room is very spacious, the bunks are really close together. One neighbor even used my bed (while I was sleepingto hop onto hers (rude but whatever). The room got really cold, and we had a tough time getting everyone to agree on a temperature, so it stayed cold. Not sure if I could have gotten another blanket. The room had 2 showers and separate toilet, but the showers have doors so there is still privacy. All in all I liked this place. I got sick and was able to rest without much issue (had rude roommates, but not the hostels fault). I wouldnt mind staying again. I stayed for 2 nights, first week of Jan 2019. Solo, 30 year old, female traveler.

I don’t know why this place has such great reviews. The staff were rude and unhelpful, the breakfast was good if mouldy rice, soggy eggs and off butter is your thing. The room was nice but the hostel lacked any atmosphere with no common area and people were just super strange... weird vibes. Would not recommend

I stayed here in 2008, I remember this place vividly since it was incredible. It was the perfect place to stay in Florence, walking distance to pretty much anything I needed, and also carried a very positibe vibe. I stayed in many Hostels after this all over Europe, for some reason this one was the best.

Its walking distance from the Florence train station and hence is near all the tourist attractions. The breakfast offered was excellent and the rooms were clean and tidy. The hostel itself has some character. They offered to keep my luggage even after I checked out.

Beautifully decorated your own house. Breakfast was huge n good too except few items. Liked our stay within the premises as they have kids place n lot of spots to take snap of.Go n have couple of nights stay - you will love it.

I had a fantastic stay for an excellent price, £23 (cant remember the cost in Eurosin a 4 bed room with breakfast included, then €2 city tax when I arrived. I was travelling solo around Italy and decided on this place because of the free meal and the good reviews and I was impressed more than I could possibly expect.Loved the art and sculptures around, making it feel fun and pleasant to just sit around in, although I didnt actually do much of that because I was exploring the city. Thankfully the location is also great, being situated on one long road leading to the piazza del Duomo. There are lots of shops around and its pretty close to a couple of supermarkets so I got some bread, cheese and ham to make sandwiches and put the rest in the fridge here with my name and check out date on.Room was clean and a good temperature, while the bathroom was equally clean and spacious. Only received one sheet as a duvet but to be honest I wouldnt have used anything more. Breakfast was served from 7 (or maybe 7.30?to 9.30 and was plentiful and good quality. Some cereals and toast, some cooked items and some cakes and biscuits. Lots of hot drinks and fruit juices too.Overall I highly recommend to anyone travelling solo and probably to groups as well.

Very close to a "perfect hostel" status in my opinion. First and foremost, staff is EXTREMELY friendly and helpful. They allowed me to have breakfast even though I havent checked in yet, outside of the standard bag storing service. Rooms and bathrooms are clean and comfortable. WiFi is nice. Its also located very close to main train station. Free Florence map.Will definitely come stay here again if Im back.

Enjoyed a flawless stay during my time at the Hostel. Furthermore, the staff displayed great assistance and hospitality in organizing a return of a lost item while I was out the country. The breakfast doesnt hurt either!

Very clean rooms, excellent location and a massive amount of storage. The garden and terrace are really nice and a great place to sit outside and relax.The staff were very helpful, nothing was too much or an issue and the process of checking in and out was seamless.My only complaint is one of the older members of staff, a guy, was really quite rude every time I interacted with him. He would doubt I had a key and was staying there each time I came in and on the last night we came back after a few drinks quite late and he was very grumpy with us and seemed extremely angry

I had the opportunity to stay one night over at Archi Rossi in March.The place was okay and clean. I stayed in a 8 dorm room, which is a bit much for me. No towels were provided.Despite being completely booked, the hostel wasnt super lively, and was probably missing something like a bar or animation in the evening. You have access to the dining room and microwave in the evening (but no forks/knife unfortunately). The place also miss a few toilets, especially if youre in a 8 dorm room (1 bathroom in the room, and then one every levels - but 3rd seemed broken).The staff was OK, but not very friendly.

Pros: Location is unbeatable, close to everything, 3min to station, 7min to San Lorenzo Market. Lockers are very large, they look more like a closet and you can fit large suitcases in them. Each bed has a night light and a power outlet within reach, which means you can charge your phone overnight and still keep it by your side ;Overall the rooms and bathrooms and very clean. Breakfast is VERY complete and very good.Cons: Staff is not particularly friendly, they ran out of towels and were very rude about it when I asked for one! There is no soap (not even to wash your handsand no bath mats, so the bathroom gets very wet after someone takes a shower. Atmosphere is not nice, the place is very weird and run down, it does not look anything like the pictures. It does not feel like a hostel, there are no social areas or friendliness. I wouldnt recommend this place if youre staying over 2 days.

Well, hostel experience gets no better than this. It’s extremely well located. Central train station is a easy 5 mins walk away. Utilities are very clean. Huge lockers with multiple hangers (You get a key for your locker upon checking in). Buffet breakfast is better than the 4 star hotel I stayed in Rome. Artistic decor goes well with the city of renaissance. Friendly reception greeted me every day with my native language.Archie Rossi makes a good beginning for your time in Florence.

Staff is nice and the breakfast WILL SPOIL YOU. Its a buffet style breakfast and to be honest, it could be considered breakfast and lunch. The rooms are really nice and clean! They even have computers available for guests use. They also have some snacks and drinks (beer & possibly wine?available for sale. Its definitely affordable and the overall look of the hostel from inside is quite nice. It seems like it must have been recently renovated. The only reason I did not give this Hostel their 5 stars is because the bed covers were so thin, I was cold at night! :( This, of course, would not be an issue in any way if it was summer time. And Im not sure but perhaps I couldve asked for another blanket, not sure. Anyhow, its a FANTASTIC hostel and I would definitely stay there again (:

Stayed in a 6 person room, which was comfortable with bunk beds and an ensuite bathroom. Breakfast provided was very generous. Staff were a little grumpy, but this didnt take away from the experience. The location is good and only a short walk from the city center. Parking is available just up the street, which was convenient having arrived on a motorbike. Overall, would recommend and stay again myself!

The location was very practical near the train station and the main attractions were walking distance.The terraces and outside garden were beautiful and help relieving out of the nauseating smell of the hostel.The breakfast was ok, at least there are coffee machines and some fruits and biscuits, the lady was also very smiley and helpful.The welcome is very cold, no charm in the place at all which is a disappointment since we were looking forward trying the hostel experience. Not the sort of young ambiance you would expect.The place smells horrible and the rooms are not super clean, the worse part of course is the bathroom: if anyone showers, it becomes a disaster with the water everywhere on the ground. We stayed two nights and have not felt any sort of cleaning made.We had to request the soap (not included in the reservation it seemsand were about to be charged for towels!We had reserved in a four beds dormitory, the bed on top was a bit scary since it kind of had a hallow in the center, so sleeping in the bottom one was not that pleasant too.The worse part was that the internet was not working at all during our stay.

The service, breakfast, and atmosphere was great. They have everything you need including some nice outdoor areas. They know english very well, and they were kind people. My a/c was not actually cooling the room so it was a little hotter than I wouldve liked. They charge for towels (1€ each). Laundry is 8€ (4 for washer, 4 for dryer). Watch your clothes because the next person may come in and remove your clothes from the machine and place them on top, in which case you might lose a sock or two (like me). Other than that, the location is pretty convenient and you cant beat all-you-can-eat breakfast.

Pretty good hostel. Clean, great full breakfast, and nicely located not to far from the train station. My only complaint is the wifi does not reach very well into the rooms that are in the garden. If you wanna use the wifi in those cases you have to go into the cafeteria. Otherwise, highly recommended.

Excellent location, well priced and with good breakfast. However, theres not much by way of common areas so its hard to make friends outside your room. Also, the bunk beds are really low - I was on the bottom bunk and hit my head many times (you cant even sit on the side of the bed). I was in a 9 bed dorm and there were two showers which was good, but no area in the cubicle to get dressed or put towels so you cant really have two people showering at the same time. Still, Id stay here again.

Very noisy but you expect this from a hostel. Great location and super cheap. The advertised hot tub costs 15 euros, and you can only pay the city tax in cash - seems to be the case in all Italian cities.

Really nice hostel, the breakfast included is really good. It is a safe place to stay, you even get a locker inside your room without any additional cost. They let you leave your luggage in a safe place before & after checkin-out. Location is awesome, very close to the train station. Only thing I can complain about was that the shower in my room flooded the entire bathroom. Overall great!

Close to downtown main attractions but the hostel atmosphere is kind of depressing. Internet works very bad (at least when I was thereand the available computers cant even open a browser (waste of your time try to use that). They let you leave your bags for free before check in and after check out, which is great.

I stayed two nights at the hostel. The location was amazing and the rooms were great. I stayed in the 6 female dorm. The hostel has the best washroom and breakfast. Havent a better breakfast at another hostel. I will definitely stay there again.

Great location (literally around the corner from the train station), clean beds, helpful receptionists, and a decently diverse breakfast buffet. The city is small enough you can walk to the main attractions in 20-30 minutes. The main issue was that the Wi-Fi was very weak, so it was hard to plan days out with trip advisor. However, there are 5 computers in the lobby (free to usethat seemed much faster.

Location was good, the hotel looked good on the inside, the staff was helpful. The breakfast was like best Ive ever eaten on my travels. So much to choose from and there was also an outdoor terrace to eat your breakfast in.The rooms were equipped with desktop computers with free access and the hotel wifi was actually pretty good even with lots of visitors at the time of our trip.I would wholeheartedly recommend this hotel to everyone. Definitely worth your money.
