This hostel is home.If you are looking for a super clean place, with a breakfast that changes every day where you can always choose between two options cooked directly by Martita, free pasta night, free cocktail, lots of different activities every day, in the heart of granada, this hostel does for you. Here it is easy to meet other travelers in a chill and familiar mood.I’ve been here for two months and I loved this place. The staff is super nice and always ready to help you. There is also a restaurant with great vegan and vegetarian food and a bar !!!Thanks Hostel Azul, Thanks to Dario, Mar and all the staff for making me feel at home on the other side of the world.
MoreGreat hostel, lovely people. Plenty of things to do including a pub crawl, movie night and shuttle to the tree house party.
MoreComo turista local.
MoreGreat Hostel in perfect location. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming, we felt like at home. It’s a hostel where you can relax and socialize at the same time! We got great tips for activities and adventures in Granada and surrounding. The hostel rents out bikes (2 hrs for freewhich was a great way of exploring Granada!! We enjoyed our time so much and would highly recommend it :)
MoreStaying in Hostel Azul was a great choice for my time in Granada!! The Hostel is central, calm and organized :the owners are beyond friendly and really blend into the group, so it feels more like staying with friends. The location is great and central to a multiple things, further the breakfast is varying everyday - including options + the opportunity to make it vegan at any time - which is something you do not get in any hostel! The program provided is great too and the staff goes beyond to make everyone feel welcomed. Hostel Azul is a place with character which I recommend everyone to have a great time in Granada :)
Morea nice hostel, very clean, relaxed atmosphere, daily activities if you want, friendly staff.
MoreSuper clean hostel and nice staff.
Overall a very good hostel. Not overly large. Max 30ish people can stay. Small place. Nice little courtyard. Not big enough to be able to find a quite corner. We stayed in the only private with ensuite. Room was stuffy. Simple things need attention like damaged fans. Bad pillows etc. No Aircon in the hostel. The shared privates looked better. Staff were excellent which really made this a positive review. I would recommend overall.
Morebest hostel in Granada (;
Really Good Hostel with the best Host you can wish and nice daily program!
Great hostel just in the centre of Granada! Rooms are very big and tidy with a patio in the middle as a common area! You cant find anything better at this price and the owner is amazing always very helpful looking after her guests!
MoreAmazing hostel! The place is super chill, the rooms are comfortable with fans on each bed. You can get free mosquito nets for the bed. The place is very clean and the breakfasts are included and super good and they change every day! The hostel is very well located in Granada. I recommend this place 100%.
MoreWhat a beautiful and cozy hostel! Location is in the city center, but still in a calm area. The owner is super friendly and helpful. The free breakfast is delicious and changes every day:-)
MoreNice place
A place very economic and silence maked it restfull
Great for stop over, fans on every bed
Best hostel of granada!!!
Stayed here for 4 nights and it was an amazing experience. Lina, Mara, and Mari are amazing as well as the staff! Breakfast is included and really good. Great place to be at for a solo backpacker, would stay here again!
MoreHostal Azul was a great place. The atmosphere was chill with with a nice group of travelers. The beds were comfy and the place was very clean. I stayed for 3 weeks, while learning Spanish, and didnt want to leave. I would definitely go back and would recommend to anyone!
MoreHostel Azul was our home away from home! Awesome staff, different breakfasts available every day, daily activities and good info wall for guests. The place is cleaned constantly all day, rooms are decent sized with comfortable beds and two fans. Kitchen is well equipped with free water and a good communal area with lots of hammocks and places to (Netflix andchill. Location is perfect one block from the square and 5mins to all the bars and restaurants. They also have a sister hostel at Boca Nero with free pool access. Really couldn’t fault this place and definitely recommend, thanks for such a great stay!
MoreGreat hostel and people. Wonderful breakfast, very cheap and comfortable dorms
Really good hostel, the staff is friendly and helpful, for breakfast you can choose between 2 different options every morning. Lots of hammocks, chilled atmosphere. Well located in the city. Wold definitely go there again!
MoreOne of the best run hostels Ive had the pleasure of experiencing. My only regret is not staying longer. Darios establishment epitomizes what you want in a hostel: outgoing/welcoming staff, laid back attitude, encouraging welcoming environment for all persons to participate in, all the local (and honestinformation in a pinch, and easy access to all of what the city (Granadahas to offer. The facilities are ideal for the price and sit snuggly a block from the city center with a genuine colonial facade. Wonderful for solo travelers or groups.
MoreIts such a lovely place! Super nice people and a very clean and relaxing host!
I did not like this place so much as a middle aged married couple. If I were single and wanted a cheap, clean place to stayn this would be it. It does come with breakfast. You cant beat $6 dormitory style rooms! Again, this axtually an amazing place for the price... just not my style.
MoreDO NOT GET A PRIVATE ROOM HERE. There is no ventilation whatsoever. Its literally a sealed box with no air conditioning in Central American heat.
MoreAmazing hostel with amazing staff and owners. Free mosquito nets, hammocks, good wifi, Nicaraguan dinners and activities each night gives everyone a chance to get to know each other and gives it almost a family vibe. You also get free access to a gym and pool. Fans on each bed are also appreciated in the hot climate of Granada!
MoreAbsolutely Loved my stay. I stayed in the dorms, and private rooms during my Months stay, all were very comfortable. Plenty of fans for when I was hot, staff cleaned the Hostal and bathrooms literally around the clock, very clean, big plus. The Lady who does the cooking is a gem. The owner was not only friendly, but fun too! Pretty much anything I asked for I got. Felt like I was staying with family 😅. There is an event every day, which were all fun. Free gym and pool pass literally around the corner. Was able to keep up on my laps and weight lifting, big plus. The pool also has a bar and food in the same space, so if laps arent your thing, you can still relax w a Tona or some Flor de Cana. Also they have very fair prices for tours to volcanos, lagoons, and a Lake w Islets. The owner was also very helpful w information like fair taxi prices, both there and on Ometepe. Oh and they even hooked me up with a 4x4 Buggy on Ometepe, as where every other tourism service I talked to only mentioned motor bikes and bicycles, which sounded much less convenient (plus I saw more than once person on a motor bike on Ometepe wipe out while there. Was an unexpected hook up. Plus The Owner knew several Hostal and Hotel owners on Ometepe, which was useful, but they treated me very well hearing I came from Hostal Azuls Owner Denisse. Not only would I stay here again, but I am planning on staying again in The Fall. Everything I needed or asked for was taken care of here. Top notch, looking forward to Future stays. So much to see in Nicaragua, Love it.
MoreCool place, but a bit hot in private rooms.
Very good place
Super nice and friendly, Clean, cheap 6$ w/ breakfast
One of the best hostels in my life!! Friendly atmosphere, adorable staff and volunteers, great breakfast, super clean hostel. 100% recommended.
MoreAmazing days here with Dario (owner of the HostalI was the first one after seven month of closing, and he offered me a beer ! Granada is really beautiful, and the hostal is in the center. Really close of everywhere. Everybody should go at Nicaragua its a really awesome country and its safe ! The population is very hosting and so cool ! Thanks Dario for everything !
MoreGood atmosphere, beautiful building but the matresses in the dormitory were very uncomfortable .
MoreVery friendly stuff, nice dorm and super relaxed atmosphere. Definitely the best hit in town, better book in advance!
MorePROS- Kitchen- hammocks- Small lockers- sturdy bunk beds- Hospitable receptionists- No bedbugs: you bring em, they kill em. Free.- Wifi free table (talk to each other!)- board games- 2 kittens. My bed was a 6am battleground.- clean restrooms- free mosquito nets- private bed fans- a few board games-free tea bags- free 5-day gym membershipCONS- Loud. Like, cant make a personal phone call loud. Its a Friday, ymmv. As party hostel as you can get without self-identifying as a party hostel. Rum night, rum in password, and more.- Music was too loud for phone calls even in the day.- Was promised at checkin that the rum night party would migrate to the bars. It hasnt as of after 10pm.- Disappointing food. Ordered quesadilla, got tacos, with only token queso.- No DIY laundry sink.- barOTHER- Terrible wifi- laundry service- Offers tours- free hot coffee
MoreBest hostel in town!
Good crew, nice place to sleep, nice value.
We only planned on 3 days in Granada but this very tranquil stylish Hostel gave us reason to stay a week . The hosts are super organised and very relaxed and warm hearted . Alejandra and Kendel who work there are gems .The place is an Oasis .Cant recommend it enough .
MoreReally cool Hostel. The hosts are very friendly and kind plus theres a great social atmosphere there with the guests. The dorms are big with plenty of space with personal fans attached to the beds. Mosquito nets also optional. Good Kitchen with the necessary utensils. If you are intersted in doing any activities theyll do their best to help you in getting the best expirience possible from it.Overall the expirience was great and i would definitely return there in the future.
MoreGreat place to stay. Comfy beds, friendly atmosphere, good hammocks, central location!! They also have activities like salsa classes you can take part in for free. They offer free breakfast which is tasty however far too small, only change I would make is bigger portions. But would definitely stay here again.
MoreGreat spot, very friendly owners, family owned. Dario and Denise are great and have moved from mexico.to.open this hostel. Younger.amd always.have great recommendations for things to do. Very fun small close knit hostel
MoreDefinitely the nicest hostel that we stayed at while we were exploring Nicaragua for a couple of weeks! Definitely VERY clean and the staff is super friendly. They offered a free steaming service of our bags just in case any bed bugs were on them. We werent concerned of any bed bugs, but the bags were mainly just dirty/stale smelling from holding all of our stuff for the past week. The hostel also offered laundry service for only 30 cordobas per pound which was a life saver!
MoreGreat place. Good prices.
Beautiful sociable hostel, in very good condition. The private room with shared bathroom is not the best value : 24$ (paid directlywith no towels or soap included, and the shower was cold. Careful with the exchange rate, all over Nicaragua its 1 US dollar for 30 Cordobas but here they charge an exchange commission. The music played mornings and evenings can be too much when you just want to relax.
MoreVery peaceful hotel, close by to the parque central
Relatively new hostel but these guys are doing a great job. Staff are super friendly. Courtyard in middle of rooms is a great spot to hang out and encourages people to socialise. Location just 5 minutes walk away from the main strip in Granada.
MoreReally lovely hostal actually... The staff are very welcoming and friendly and their is a great balance between socialising and downtime. The actually hostal is very new so its still bouncing with fresh ideas and everything is in very good condition which is great.Only issue is it does get pretty hot in the dorms here... But, no where near as hot as others Ive stayed in.Really enjoyed my stay here and would recommend this place to people staying in Granada.
MoreNew hostel with a lot of potential. Free water would be a good addition
Nice staff, very welcoming and mostly english speaking. Big and open hang out area, cozy and nice! Dorms is what you expect, all fine. Newly opened so very clean and fresh feeling. Small bar ! Small kitchen (really small). Good location. I like this place most for the nice overall feeling. I think the family that runs it, wants it to become more of a party hostel, but I hope it will stay more like it is right now - chill, clean and cozy! I will return, and for sure I would recommend it to any fellow backpacker.
