Overall a very good hostel run by a friendly and enthusiastic couple.-The dorm room is spacious, has comfortable mattresses and an excellent hot shower.-Roger brews delicious beer onsite which can be purchased; my personal favourite being the oatmeal stout.-Malena makes a tasty and varied breakfast each morning.-Stable internet connection which is useful for working and streaming

We had a perfect lovely stay at Malena and Rogers place. They are very inspiring people and they made us feel like it was home. Malena is a great chef and provides very delicious breakfast, Roger makes delicious artisan beers, the view from their property is amazing, the beds in all the rooms were extremely comfy (we were lucky to stay in all of them), very cosy shared room for working/reading, practical and inviting shared kitchen to cook fresh local food, their 3 dogs and 3 cats are the cutest (we miss them so very much still to this day)... In summary, this is a more than perfect place if youre looking to visit Cotacachi!!

Had a great experience staying with Malena and Rodger, they made us feel at home straight away. Lovely place to stay, fully equipped with all you need, spacious bedroom, big open kitchen, nice outside space too, with amazing views, highly recommend for anyone that wants to experience the town of Cotacachi. Lovely small and cosy hostel! It is getting better every day. Great prices and lovely views over the vulcanos cotacachi and imbabura and great home brewed beers for great prices right there in the fridge. Superb showers, probably the best in town, and great rooms. They are lovely people Malena and Roger and there are lovely people in cotacachi too. Nice place to visit a town with a lot of indigenous communities. Great experience.

This is a great new hostel in Cotacachi. We recently stayed the weekend and we were welcomed with great beer, a super comfy bed, warm showers that actually fit tall people, and amazing Canadian hospitality. You can also expect a great breakfast. The hostel has great views of the surrounding areas, social areas to relax, read, watch Netflix, work, etc. It is also easy to find and close to everything in town. From Hoppy Alpaca, you can visit a number of places, such as Otavalo, the market in town, and Cuicocha without traveling very far. Overall, Hoppy Alpaca is a fantastic place to stay where you can relax, make friends, and enjoy delicious Ecuadorian craft beer. Highly recommended :)

Best backpacker hostel in Cotacachi! Very chill, cozy, and friendly atmosphere. The owners are really cool and nice people. Very nutritious and delicious breakfast with eggs, bread, fruit, oats, and coffee. Great, intimate, atmosphere, perfect for meeting fellow travellers. Comfy beds. Super cozy living room with Netflix and solid board game collection. Adorable dogs and cats. AMAZING CRAFT BEER, brewed on site. Cant recommend enough!

Como muchas veces, las mejores cosas pasan sin planearlas. Hoppy Alpaca es un hostal con muy buena energía, ameno, el indicado para descansar y continuar con el camino. Sus anfitriones, Malena y Roger, quienes tienen alma de viajeros, te hacen sentir en casa: buen ambiente, buen desayuno, buenas conversaciones.Pd: Dentro del hostal venden una cerveza deliciosa hecha en casa: "Athena Homebrew". Me encantaron la India Pale Ale, la Lager Oscura y la de Yuca.
