Hope Royal Botanical Gardens in Kingston

Im always at peace when I step onto the grounds of the Hope Botanical Gardens. A great place for family and friends alike to hangout on any given day.

Great place to go with your family for a picnic and to relax. The kids will run and have a blast. Excellent way to tire them out.

The atmosphere and the scenery is breath taking . Nature at its best

A decent event space/kick back space.For events,Security within spaces rented by the entity that owns the gardens should be organized better privately. Spaces should be well organized and thought out for the types of events held.For a kickback, this a good space to unwind with friends in the day. If youre gonna kickback, take your food etc.minor advisory, from what Ive observed:dont wear stilettos if the soil is wet or there was rain before an event. Keep it simple - boots or sneakers. Also the parking lots arent really conducive to that type of shoe, especially if its in the gardens - the Sunken Gardens area might allow.

This was one of the most beautiful places Ive visited. ❤A lot of beautiful trees as well as the atmosphere is fresh and nice. It is perfect for a family picnic, a gathering, wedding pictures and more.

NATURE IS JUST BEAUTIFUL!, Yes I had to shout. Hope Gardens is a site that I have been visiting as a Child and it hasnt lost its beauty. I was invited to a wedding and Man O Man they couldnt have chosen a better place to host this event. Talk about everything at one location its was like walking into a candy store on sale day. From the ceremony to the Cocktails to the reception,and it well like we were on a private plantation... and if you know Hope Gardens you know that other patrons were there and was no disturbance the whole atmosphere was exquisite.. Take me back plzzzzz. I will let the pictures fill in the blanks 🥰🥰

Got married here in April. Beautiful atmosphere. Cheap to reserve for events too

Its a quiet place nice setting dont know much as i just went to participate in the best dressed fathers day 5k event.

Lovely grounds returning to their glory days. Wide expanses of lawns, tropical flowers , trees , ponds and wilderness too. Enjoyed by all who love the out-a-door world.

Could be much better but it’s still a lovely place to visit for flora.

The place is beautiful. Theres a charge to enter the hope gardens property. Theyre also under construction so entrance was moved to their first gate.Nothing beats a relaxing day at the gardens. Bring food and blankets to spread on the grass.Perfect for mini parties or a lil afternoon date.Call first if youre going to set up an area for yourself. Theyre very strict in that regard.

This place is really one of the most serene places I been to. Easy to relax and enjoy fresh air and listen to the sound of pure nature. Nice to picnic and just cuddle up too.

Fantastic natural experience. Be sure to see the Chinese garden. Theres a small fee for that part ($500 for adults, 200 for kidswhen I visited but its definitely worth it

Good space for groups, families, couples or even solo visits. Quiet, peaceful garden.Seems to be open mid week for you to drive in and park. Otherwise you park at the designated area and walk in. Theres also a zoo and a Chinese garden (not open)Its 4 stars because although its good, a lot more can still be done

Very well maintained lawn, clean rest rooms with adequate supply of paper towels and toilet paper and hand soap

The scenery was astonishing and the variety of plants really made the whole garden seem exotic. I really enjoyed my time there.

Great place for a picnic, romantic date outside in nature, fun day with friends or family, nice place to chill alone, public restrooms available, several gazebos ranging in size are also available, manicured lawns with a plant nursery. The garden is beautiful. It also has the chinese gardens you can visit. Which is also another beauty in itself. There is also a zoo that you can visit.

Excellent 0lace for nature lovers smacked in the 9utskirta if the urban landscape if Kingston and St. Andrew. The gardens Id well kept and the general atmosphere is coming to ones spirit.Saturdays are the busiest if all days as many persons can be seen taking photos (comes at a cost if $2500 upon entrywhile others are picknicking or studying in groups.I usually visit early Saturday mornings where I stop at the local coffee shop with my family and we have breakfast at one of the gazebos. After eating it 8a great to watch the children okay in the oush green grass. It is such a joy to see them in such a cool calm environment.I will recommend this place for those who want a quick get away to reconnect with nature.

Hope Botanical Gardens is a breathe of fresh Air. The view is very Majestic and therapeutic. Very beautiful location to enjoy with Loved ones, families and friends, can also be a treat area for studying, weddings, picnics etc. Highly recommended

Beautiful park for nature lovers and photography.

Beautiful grounds that is well kept. The trees are old and labeled for inquiry. Most of the benches are clean and garbage not present.Security is not present until closer to opening time but visible are exercise folks enjoying their routines and outdoors.

Lovely open park with gazebos, fountains, mazes, archways and pathways to enjoy the serene and relaxing environment to unwind in the heart of the hustle and bustle. Great place to picnic and have family outings in wide open spaces.

Being a free, open space, the park was well kept with adequately trimmed lawns, gazebos and beautiful flowers. It is a nice space for meditating and escaping the harshness of life for a while to recuperate.

Its a gardens its pretty and its quiet ntn exciting unless you have a big group of people well other than the excitement of weddings or something in that caliber

I purchased a few flowers at the nursery. The staff were helpful and they offer a wide variety of plants.

This place is one of the most beautiful places on earth. Once you enter the property you literally feel stress and pains melting away from your soul. Having gone there almost all my life I can proudly say there is no place better to be one with nature. To step away from lifes worrisome demands. The combination of trees, beautifuly coloured flowers, entertainment and that lush oxygenated air is an out of body experience.

Always a pleasure to walk through this park. Make sure you ask for the guide for this walk. She is very knowledgeable and makes it much more interesting.

This is a small fraction of the nursery. They have everything!! Amazing place and they take cards. Id give them 10 stars, and excellent customer service.

The Chinese Garden was spectacular. I have a greater appreciation of Chinese culture! The tour guide was very knowledgeable!

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS PLACE! Been going for years and overtime the place has developed and can accommodate multiple events and groups at a time. It is absolutely beautiful and the security staff are very helpful. Sufficient parking is available but there is one downfall I observed, there are not readily accessible restroom facilities throughout the property, they are far and wide. I do believe that this needs to be looked into as some persons do just visit to read on the lawns or have playtime with their families.

Hope Royal Botanical Gardens have a special place in my heart. It is a beautiful, spacious "chill out" spot that is much needed by weary Kingstonians. However, it has been through "ups and downs." The Chinese Government gave a garden (consisting mostly of concreteto Jamaica, fencing off my favorite part of Hope Gardens and charging an entrance fee. Also, in recent years the gardens have been over-used as "entertainment venues," even at night, causing wear and tear to the grounds and a build up of garbage. Nevertheless, they still manage to maintain their old-fashioned air, with huge beautiful trees and abundant bird life (check out the endemic parrots, who make their presence felt!)

Once a great Green family garden space for people to go and enjoy the open spaces is now in danger of losing its appeal as a Green botanical garden. Be careful how you tread as they tend to have large loud parties and functions which do great damage to their open lawns, now reduced to near dust bowl. The lawns gets trampled by the thousands of people at these parties and functions weekly. Debris from party aftermath isnt cleaned up properly so look out for broken glass chicken bone and such. The level of garbage piled up at these locations after a party is a pull for rodents and stray animals.NPF please ensure the space is cleaned properly and garbage removed of property ASAP.

Loved Hope Gardens. Its a workout if youre up for it. Beautiful plants, walkways, and scenery. Perfect for weddings and wedding shoots.

A places of beauty and one of the many places in Jamaican you can go with friends and be one with nature. A family friendly place. Suitable for keeping picnics and memorable events. There is also a zoo when you can talk the kids to see amazing and beautiful animals of different shapes and sizes and a Chinese Botanical Garden. It is advisable that you carry food. However, a restaurant is there is you feel for a hot cooked meal, a snack shop and a Reggae Jammin vendor to serve you. Come by, bring friends, bring the family.

We loved this place! Natural gardens are always a must for us wherever we go, and Hope Royal didnt disappoint. The park has a wide variety of flowers and other plants, all set up in a thoughtful way. Lots of wide open areas so people could do whatever they wanted without bumping into a large amount of people.

The last time I was here was when my family and I lived in Kingston, in 63-64! So, it has changed. Not what I remembered. I thought it was more intimate and not as spread out. We walked in, leaving our driver outside the gate. 1st thing, wear shoes! Yeow, we were in flip flops! Lots of walking. Kingston has not had a lot of rain so it wasnt as lush but truely, still beautiful!!! We spent about an hour and a half and then walked out and connected with our driver.

Its a free open park to do a number of things. You can host events through their office. Its really nice place with a variety of cultural garden designs. Its also located on a massive plot of land so its perfect for almost any expedition.

Hope Gardens is beautiful. There is lot of land space available to accommodate a large of amount of people and everywhere has an exquisite aspect. Every time I visit Hope Gardens I marvel at how lovely this place is with so many intriguing trees and lush green grass. Its great place for a picnic, a birthday party or just a simple stroll. It also has a zoo, which is quite fascinating.

The sight is amazing, its a lot if you are a big fan of nature, the fresh air is awesome. Its also a good place for families to group with each other and build stronger bonds, the area is also good for picnics, weddings and receptions you name it. You definitely have to go there to get the experience.

Always a fun place to bring the family.. great for kids.. theres a fun land that opens on weekends lots of rides to enjoy...

Grounds are clean and well kept. Its a great place to relax or if you need serene environs to meditate. There is a nice restaurant, Chinese botanical garden and the Hope Zoo as additional attractions. Some of these may require individual entry fee

Hope Gardens is very scenic and the home to our most delicate flora and fauna. The natural garden is good for runs, events, picnics and other quiet, calm and relaxing adventures. The space is really big as such youll have your own little private area. It is well kept, bathrooms are available and a little snack area can be located on the premises to enter the zoo section.We had an awesome time and we do hope you and yours will enjoy the serenity as well!

Just beautiful! Great Park to bring the little ones. Lots of green space for babies to crawl around and older children to play. Balls are allowed as well as scooters, bicycles etc. Several gazebos available for group meetings and huge trees provide adequate shading. The zoo is close by and a plant nursery with many options are affordable prices. There is also the newly built Chinese gardens. Awesome for a relaxing family afternoon.

Very nice place for kids entertainment. Peaceful and relaxing visit. Kids loved it.. its rare to get such wide range variety of animals in such small caribbea. Island.

As a guy that likes nature, the Hope Botanical Garden and Zoo is a nice place to visit.My group and I were the first people to visit the Chinese Garden this year so that was cool and the tour was amazing. However, a lot of the water effects were off or the water was green with algae, damaging the look of some of the sites.The garden and zoo are fairly large and you can get a good hour or two out of each section. It only cost $20 to visit the zoo and $5 for a tour, so I definitely recommend coming if youre in Jamaica.
