Honolulu Grill Cedar City - Hawaiian restaurant in Cedar City, United States
Great service!! Delicious food 😋❤
Disappointing. I have enjoyed Honolulu Grill since it’s inception in St George but haven’t eaten here in about 10 yrs. Did it change hands? Different owners In Cedar City? Not the same quality of food. Floor was sticky. Staff was good though.
The Hawaiian food is very good. The other options are acceptable. Its slow and overpriced though. Expect a minimum of a 10 minute wait when you order.
Food was ok, service was good. Friendly staff and they had what we ordered. I had read reviews that they were out of a lot. No issues. I wouldnt drive out of way to eat here but no complaints. If your visiting Las Vegas, go eat at Aloha in the California hotel. Best Hawaiian food that Ive had to date outside of Hawaii.
We stopped for lunch, it was good. Nothing I would go out of my way for , like Aloha in the California in Las Vegas, but it was good. Friendly, prompt service and they had everything we wanted on the menu, unlike many previous reviews I read.
The first 5 things I tried to order they were out of. I gave up and asked what they did have. Dont hand out a full menu if half of the items arent available. When the food came I didnt get the water I ordered. I tried to ask the gal who dropped my off off about it but she just turned and walked away. And when I say dropped off she literally tossed the bag with the food on my table and said "here you go". Ive never experienced service so poor. Which is unfortunate because the food is amazing. I likely would have gone back for dinner tomorrow also but not with that service.
Solid island food with reasonable portions. Id have liked to see more variety on the menu but Ill go back next time Im visiting town.It took me back to the carry out spots on Guam.
Heard a lot about it, not impressed. Didnt get what I ordered. I had one order and was told it would be 15-20 min. Because they just got a big Carter order. Hard to believe they couldnt do both. I was the only one waiting in the dining area. Just disappointing.
The food was amazing and made me miss Hawaii but the food and the music and the service was all awesome!!! I cant wait to bring my kids there!
I consider myself a loyal, bimonthly/weekly customer. I’ve recommended this store to all of my friends and family for the last few years. However, the management here has taken a steep dive, and I will not be returning unless some serious changes happen. Their soda machines don’t work, and they are constantly “out” of food choices even at peak hours of the day. Overall, I am very disappointed.
Surprised they are still in business. They are always out of everything. Workers act like they dont know anything. Orders are always wrong. It says Honolulu Grill but the chicken came out of a crock pot! No grill at all. Wont be going back!
Food is very good, classic Hawaiian dishes must try the bbq chicken or katsu chicken longest wait time was only about 6 minutes and average 7-10 a plate
Kailua pig was seasoned good but the teriyaki chicken was boild needs to be grilled with teriyaki sauce it was more like shoyu chicken but prices are good and just like back home so thats a major plus and need to get hawaiian sun
They ran out of everything we wanted and my order was wrong and then the employee said she would have to pay for it in order to fix it. I gave 2 stars for the one girl in there that tried to help in the end. Food was okay but I was disappointed with the experience.
The workers are always really nice. However every time I have come I end up with a 15 minute wait even when Im the only customer there. All of the food is also overpriced for what you get. Up north there is a very similar restaurant chain called Mo Bettahs that is cheaper.
Love their food but get so frustrated how they are always out of everything. Ranch.....sorry we’re out. Short ribs......sorry we’re out. Can I get a shaved ice? Sorry we are out of that too......you have like 15 flavors....like how? 🙄🤦🏼♀️ Definitely prefer the Saint George location over this one.
They have nothing in stock. No fries, no burger meat at all. All of our entrees they had to refund because they didnt have the ingredients for them, mahimahi was supposed to take 40+ minutes to cook. Grateful for the refund, but what a waste of time.
Love the food here but they are so inaccessible. They never answer the phone and the online ordering system says they are closed when the store is open. We went into to order and had to wait 20 minutes even though we wanted to call ahead so it would be ready when we got there. Sitting in the restaurant we saw the employee answer the phone several times and just put it on hold and never picked it back up. Terrible service.
I would not recommend. Out of more than half their menu, I had to switch what I wanted 3 times. Their teriyaki beef sandwich was priced 8.50 on the menu, but the computer charged 9.50. When this was pointed out, the manager came over, and said that there was nothing to do.Once we got the food, it was very underwhelming. Beef on sandwich was not very hot, and the sandwich was hard to eat. The portion of the chicken katsu was not worth the price.
My old review:Good food, fast, friendly service. 1/21/2021 review: tried calling in an order and they didnt answer their phone, so I thought Ill try ordering online (DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM ONLINE), I placed the order and recieved a confirmation email that my food would be ready by 7:30. I arrived about 7:25 and when asked if Id like to place an order, I told the young girl behind the counter that I placed and online order, she gave me a blank stare, picked up the tablet next to the register set it down said weve been busy and your order is going to take 15 to 20 more minutes, went back in the kitchen and told me that theyll get it done asap. She then started typing in my order that she was reading from the tablet. I told her dont lie to me, you forgot my order and then lied about it. She confessed that she did lie and they did forget my order, but will get it done right away then apologized for the problem. I sat and waited for my forgotten order as others came in and ordered, the others that ordered after I did walked out with their food before I got mine. After getting home and opening the containers I was missing part of my meal. The food is usually really good, but was ok at best this time. My wife who loves their food said mine isnt that good either. I would have called to complain about the food quality, but didnt think they would answer their phone. If they are going to do online ordering they had better fix the problem, better yet they need to answer their phone.
We have gone in multiple times now and they have been out of half the menu at least. It’s usually all popular good stuff. Bummer would love to support but ya gotta have food to buy.
Amazing taste of Hawaii. Yummy, hearty ono grinds. I got the Hawaiian plate - rice with sauce, chicken and shredded pork, and cucumber salad. The sauce on the rice is so good, definitely my favorite combo. Got a slush as well - guava and sierra mist. Great place, family friendly, good food. Just like Hawaii.
Been to this location twice and the food was great. Like really great but today I was a little irritated with the fact the guy at the counter forgot to put in my fiances order. I got my food handed to me and didnt touch it, waiting on her food. Then when I realized it was taken forever I asked if they got her order up yet and he said it was never put in. Sadly I will rate it a 3 stars for that. My food was cold by the time she got her food and we started eating, never the less the food was amazing.
This place does not want business. This is the second time this year I’ve tried to place a to-go order. Tonight they put me on hold for 15min. Then when I finally hung up and tried calling back they would not answer or the phone was busy. I drove there and walked into place an order 40 min prior to closing and they told me they couldn’t serve me what I ordered(garlic chickenbecause they were already cleaning the fryers. So I ask for Loco Moco and I was told no. Because they were already cleaning the grill. Poor business ethics here. To bad it’s not ran like the one in St.George. The Cedar City location will never get my family of 9’s business again.
If you do order from here get a dish that is made to order because it will be more fresh. There are some good flavors here but the sides are really killing it for me. Overcooked mushy rice, globy sauces, and inconsistent seasoning. Ive eaten here maybe 5 times and each time the rice is completely overcooked (for those who would defend the rice as Hawaiian, this is not that, its not sticky rice either, there is simply no care in the quality of this rice). The macaroni salad has been inedible on a couple occasions because the amount of salt. The teriyaki sauce held its own shape when I went last. If the macaroni was consistant and they cooked the rice correctly I would still eat here.
Authentic, ample, and affordable. Some of the best true-Hawaiian food Ive had stateside. The portions were more than enough for one person. The Kahlua pork combo was a typical simple shredded pork with steamed rice and traditional Hawaiian style macaroni. Theres an option to top your rice with sweet sauce. I gave it a go. The sauce added a nice flavor to the rest of the meal. It turned out to be a perfect "combo." I had a sample of my wifes sesame chicken, I was equally impressed with her choice. Plenty of solid choices for a variety of taste buds. Well be returning again!
I usually love the food, but today it was not very good. The service was great. But very disapointed in the quality. My sons chicken was not edible. I will definitely give them another try. I know that every place has an off day.
Stopped in while travelling and I am glad I did. The katsu chicken was amazing and the rice with sweet teriyaki sauce was my absolute favorite.
The food is good, not spectacular, and the staff was friendly. It seemed to be more of a takeout place than a dine-in place. My dish (one of the pork options that was wrapped in leaves with a lot of fat, so little meat, but very tenderhad an overpowering amount of rice to meat ratio. My daughters orange chicken dish was very good!It is a Pepsi place, so the only diet option is diet Pepsi ( or water).
This is a hit and miss type of place. When they are on their game, its absolutely fabulous. Food is excellent and service is superb. When they are off, good luck getting any service in a timely manner and the food, I wouldnt feed to an enemy.Roll the dice on this place
The food smelled good... But you can tell that place is barely hanging on. My husband got kalua pork. It tasted like dog food. I got garlic chicken my first bite was cold and some others were super hot... Like it was microwaved. We barely ate and threw the food away. Still hungry
Good food (most of the timebut horrible, disgusting, unclean restaurant. The floor is super sticky and dirty. Only one couple was sitting in there. All of the empty tables/chairs were filthy and no one was bothering to clean them. All of the employees were in the back standing around or back behind the door that leads to the kitchen. The employees need to be trained on restaurant cleanliness. And on the food, it is usually great. But we used to love getting the teriyaki beef until they started giving it to us with huge pieces of gooey fat instead of meat. After that happening consistently we avoid the beef altogether and stick with teriyaki chicken.
Excellent food! As close to authentic that you can get on the mainland! Chkn, pork and ribs were cooked perfect with delicious seasonings. The macaroni and cucumber salads were so good! Prices are not bad for the amount of food that you get. Would recommend this place if you like Hawaiian food!
I love Honolulu Grill, so I was excited when I found out there was one in Cedar. I read reviews saying they are often out of food, but they were older reviews so I thought I’d go in anyway. When I got there the staff member was on the phone and the bill was about $40 for the caller so probably for about 4 people, and the cook came from the back and said that would take all the beef they had. That was kind of a downer. The staff were great and very apologetic, as I’d just said I wanted teriyaki beef before the cook came out, but I’d recommend calling in to see if they have what you want to order before you go in. Hopefully whoever orders their stock gets with the program.
Good food! Lots of food for the price. The only thing I dont like is that the macaroni salad was warm by the time we got home with our food. I couldnt even eat it.
Yeah I cannot recommend this place in good conscience. My wife and I went there for dinner and both had the green curry noodles, after eating about 1/3 of the food I had to take it home where it stayed in the fridge too long. The curry tasted like a powdered concoction that wasnt hydrated enough, it really was not good at all and I was disappointed after some locals raved about it, but on the other hand they are locals who have never been out of the U.S and we were spoiled just returning from several months in Asia where curry tasted like it was supposed to. I feel obligated to score 3 stars but really its closer to a 1.5 star
The food was pretty good and they give huge portions. The girls that were in there were very giggly and didnt really explain the options. We were from out of town and hadnt been to a Hawaiian place outside of Hawaii. This is not a good place for vegetarians.
Alright. Food is good, but everything is sweet. I got a salad and it had about a cup of shredded carrots in it. Youd have to be a real carrot fiend to want them all. Getting food was a little bit confusing, my party of 7 had to wait a while for our stuff and it wasnt clear if she should be grabbing containers from the counter or waiting for them to be brought out or what.
The three girls that were working the afternoon (like after 7pm I thinkon Thursday October 6th were awesome! I really wanted to get in contact with the manager or owner or something to let them know I was really impressed with how they treated us and how they conducted themselves. I dont know how to get in contact with the owner but I hope somehow someone from their management sees this to let them know they are doing an awesome job! (they deserve a little bonus!Me and my wife will be returning plenty of times, as I know many others will because these employees were great!
Good place to eat. Love the bar-b-que chicken. Half the time I eat here they are out of lots of their meat items though. The food is great, service is good. They just need to make sure they have enough meat. Edit, theyve gotten better with options. Definitely recommend then
The sesame chicken was very good! It was a fairly long wait compared to most fast food places. The dining room wasnt anything spectacular. The staff was friendly and helpful. The rest of our group liked everything they ordered. I also tried the Lau Lau, I wouldnt recommend it to anyone who doesnt like exotic food.
I have been many times, the one in st George is definitely a five star the cedar city location struggles hence the two stars. Four of the times they have been out of the food I wanted to order. Another time I was given my food and they forgot to put the chicken in it and the rice sauce. Just a lack of attention and poor management. If they would get their act together I’d give a five star because their food tastes great when they actual have it!
Fantastic food. The teriyaki chicken on stir fry noodles was exceptionally tasty.
The food is amazing! I would give it 5 stars if it hit my taste buds perfect, but I can absolutely not agree with a too salty taste. Some of the dishes taste too much like salt for my liking, and on the other hand some of the other dishes taste like heaven! Either way it is still great food, at a good price for the ammount of food you receive!
Im giving a 3 for large portions and quick service. The pork was interesting with cooked cabbage mixed in the meat. Fries were undercooked. Wheres the SPAM? Hard to believe it is Hawaiian without spam dishes.
Love the fast friendly service menu favorite teriyaki chicken with macaroni salad white rice with this famous sauce it is to die for... A miniplate many plate is perfect for one serving, we have ordered two or three regular plates and fed three or four of us
Staff is friendly and very helpful and they are responsible for all the stars I’m giving this place. I ordered the chicken teriyaki and I was disappointed. Maybe the other plates are better.
LOVE THE FOOD! I am a local girl who has lived the last 7 years in Maryland and literally just moved to Cedar City Utah. We had a Hawaiian food place not to far ( in Maryland but it was over priced and not to good. But let me tell you, Honolulu grill is DELICIOUS!!!! It reminds me of L&L from back home. I am so happy with one the service and two the taste and three the price! So glad I found this place just by scanning my surroundings! Thanks so much for your feet work and great food!!!!!!
This was my first time to the restaurant and I wasnt disappointed. I sampled the pork and chicken and both were delicious, the Teriyaki being less sweet with great flavor. The portions were large and we had great service.
Delicious food and huge portions for the price. Today, the place was packed and so it took a while for the food to get there, which was perfectly understandable and not their fault at all. They seem to have stuffed up my box more than usual as compensation for the wait, which was a really nice surprise. They always treat their customers well here and I cant get enough of the shortribs. 10/10 would recommend.
