Renovated traditional Chinese food shop. Kitchen is on the right shop, so choose to sit at the shop on left will have cooler atmosphere. Soup and yam rice taste good.

Pork noodles are good although soup taste a bit diluted. Fish noodles need more fish tho :(

The salted vegetable soup is amazing! Porridge was very comforting but the salted vegetable soup was the highlight for me. Minced pork and pig stomach was yummy as well. I will definitely be back again the next time I go back to Penang~

Visit during dinner time and it was quite crowded during weekdays. Order bitter gourd pork soup with yam rice (there is other selection such as white rice or noodles). Price was slightly expensive compare to other food nearby but the portion was big. The soup was good and definitely will come again.

Pork bihun soup is just average. Both hot and cold Teh C is good, the taste of tea is strong. Price is a bit higher than other shop.

Was there for lunch on Sunday with my family. We ordered 3 bowls of their food, salted vegetable soup with rice, fried fish bee hoon and minced pork bee hoon.I have to say it is not your usual hawker price, but I dont complain because they do serve good food. BUT the portion of the noodles is absurd - it is so little until it reminded me of my primary school days when i bought bee hoon from the school canteen that was served in that small bowl. How much does really the noodle cost? I am not asking for mega portions, at least reasonable. I guess their "reasonable" is based on Penangs benchmark? I dont know.

One of the best pork soups I have tasted. Which is not sour but contains salted veg, full of flavor but not thick. Great soup for a rainy day in Penang. Closes early though. One of the terrible times I fed me and forgot to take a food photo. Try it to believe it.

Nice pork noodle shop which is very famous in the heart of Georgetown. It serves all kind of pork noodles with or without the offals. Personally I always only order the pork noodles without the organs. Otherwise for offal lovers, they have various choices to choose from stomach, intestines, liver to kidneys and even the brain. The soup is thick and full of flavour. It does not have the extreme porky smell which is really good. Generous amount of minced meat and meat balls.Price is around rm12.Service is kinda quick. Even at peak hour, I get my noodles in 20mins time.Parking can be hard. But there a private parking opposite this shop at an affordable rate.

21 ringgit for some cooked noodles in plain soup base and 3 overcooked prawns.30 mins wait time.. its literally a big bowl of heated water, with less than a handful of noodles. Left very dissatisfied. Dont go here.

A place definitely worth trying and coming back for a good variety of famous pork parts if you dare to take up the challenge, there are other options such as fish meat and prawns too... few variety of main base to choose - porridge, vermicelli, thin or thick rice noodle and instant noodle... RM10.50 for a plain pork minced meat porridge and RM12.10 for a normal bowl which actually includes all the pork parts brain, kidney, intestines etc except pork stomach not in the list... do check it out if you are a pork lover.

Another lovely place for comfy porridge and soup noodles! Love the sour soup noodles. Appetising and super yummy!Always a must stop by at Penang whenever I visit :After this stop, you can walk just a few shops away towards the left as you exit Hon kei, to a corner kopitiam to savour their delicious fluffy coffee! 😋

Expensive place for a meal of bee hoon RM20++ per pax. Will not be come often. Once awhile still fine. Taste drop compare to last time in narrow lane hawker style.

This place is all about pork. All kinds of parts, and even brain. You can have it with noodles, rice or porridge. I personally like their thick mee hoon as they are very smooth. Highly recommend their salted vegetables soup too.

The portion has become smaller and the price has been increased. Whats worse, waited one hour for two bowls of noodles. We tried to follow up about our order and the lady replied "Nothing much we can do, if you can wait then wait", I believe she is the lady boss. VERY BAD SERVICE.

Porridge minced meat 猪仅肉Iced coffee🍜 Food wise: Porridge cooked in very fragrant pork soup broth, soft and delicious rice, and big pieces of chewy minced meat. A very delicious bowl of porridge! The minced meat has depth and a nice texture. Must eat comfort food whenever visiting Penang. The iced coffee was thick, not overly sweet, and aromatic, it wasnt too milky as well, pretty good!✨ Ambience wise: Like old school coffee shops, such nice vibes!🤵🏻 Service wise: Great!💵 Price wise:Porridge minced meat: 10.80 RMIced coffee: 2.60 RM

Soul and comfort food thats very satisfying. Famous for their pork innards thick vermicelli soup, this is a popular spot for locals and tourists alike. Spacious and airy dining area, fast service, it can get very crowded during weekends and peak hours.

Each time when we visit Penang, Hon Kei is a must!!!Even though it was way past lunch hour, it was still crowded.Waited for 15 minutes to wave to gain attention just for our order. Once you have ordered, you have to pay.Once ordered, food served was quite fast.Piggie Brain is a must try. Seldom youll find an eatery that serves it. Do go as early to avoid disappointment if you want to try the brain.

I love the stir fry food from Hon Kei! got “wok hei”! I tried the wat tan hor, not bad at all! I will go back and try again other stir fry food! However the pork noodle which they are famous for are just average. The fried fish head/paste noodle is good, love the fried fish batter. The pork porridge taste pretty good, very good comfort food that you can find in penang. Kopi was good too, I tried the kopi peng(iced coffee).

Place 2 / 5Clean 3 / 5Food 4 / 5Price 4 / 5Old school chinese restaurant, very fast serving though. However the consideration for customer quite bad.Napkin is charged on RM 0.5 and my friend’s order on fishball mixed noodle is very bland in taste.I suggest ordering fried dishes for topping since the base isn’t very rich in flavor. I suggest having this dish in the afternoon since it can get quite hot.

Yet another price revision upwards by this crowded destination for a taste of yesteryears Hainanese pork porridge cooked individually on a fiery stove. Gone is the long wait as the assembly line of chefs delivers to the nimble taps on the waitress iPad at each table. Despite the higher price, you are shortchanged on the essential pig brains every weekend here.

This should be a popular restaurant among the locals as the were queues on weekends Popped in for brunch - we ordered pork innards soup with vermicelli/rice/instant noodles (please note that they don’t serve yellow noodles here and discontinued the toast and eggsAll the meat were cooked to perfection especially the intestines Soup a little tad salty but not overpowering Environment is airy but not cooling so be prepared to sweat on hot sunny days

A popular pork noodles shop in George Town, Penang worth trying. It is difficult to find parking along the road nearby the restaurant but nowdays you can park your car safely at a proper car park nearby. They charged RM2 per hour. There are choices of different kinds of noodles and yam rice to go with your minced pork, pork balls, pork belly and pork innards. The pork soup base is still good and flavourful. Besides this, you can also have prawns and fish slices noodles. The side order of deep fried fish slices was fresh and tasty too. The coffee was nice but not the bitter type.

The best place for pork porridge. They serve very good thick flavourful pork porridge. They serves the porridge with all parts of pork intestines on the menu. There are also option of tofu soup and rice, fish noodle and other dishes. For drinks choices, I like their lemon juice and ampula juice with sour plum.

My favourite porridge place in Penang. You can add various pork parts into this porridge. What I love about it is the base broth used for the porridge, which I guess must have undergone a good amount of process of cooking to achieve such flavoir.I also went for their salted veggies pork soup which was equally favourful. The Salted veggie flavour was just right and doesnt overpower the soup too much that you can actually take this without any rice.Highly recommended!

The taste of the pork broth not bad, but why the heck is the thick mee hoon and thin mee hoon so broken up into tiny pieces everytime?🤔Ordering and payment process not very pleasant, especially during peak hour..long waiting time and need to signal and call up the waitress for ordering multiple times to get them to take your order. Might can consider cashless payment method?

[sibehholiao]1Guys, do order Hon Kei’s Chu char and you will never regret it. We had this wan tan hor and it turned out to be very tasty. Wok hei is compulsory for a Chu char and this place had it all! Do visit the Chu char stall in Hon Kei after 11am as that is the opening time.2coffee was very kaw for my liking, advice to order kopi Peng instead.3pork porridge was given generously with their signature pork soup.4kuey teow th’ng using same pork broth as porridge so it was tasty as well5hokkien char was good but a little salty to my liking. The fish and prawn were really fresh and cooked to a perforation. I have no complain on this

Please pay attention on the pics included. This one is the best. Maybe its because my mum cooks almost the same dish but they did a bit of better job. Young girl gave the best service, and some others were okay. And of course some looked like theyve been forced to do their job. I had to go back though. The soup was amazing.
